Artisan Grill

I had a wonderful time at Artisan Grill located in the heart of Amherstburg. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and inviting I love that they have a private seating room to host for special event it was a very romantic and calm vibe the service and staff were amazing . I had the salmon entree it was cooked perfectly very nice flavours and beautiful presentation. I heard their steak entree is amazing will be back thank you.

Service is very SLOW! Slowest service I have ever experienced. We arrived at 5pm for our reservation and had to wait 20 minutes for our table. One of our party ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio that they like for dinner. After seating and deciding on what we wanted the server finally came after 15 mins, and ordered our drinks. Still no wine....after 5 inquiries and an additional 30 mins the bottle finally arrived. We ordered our appetizers and food after getting our drinks because it was so busy. Service was very slow, and the server kept forgetting about the bottle of $52 wine that was ordered 45 minutes before. The food was very good, but my New York Strip was rubbery and chewy. My wife's tenderloin was tender and very good. Overall, good food, extremely slow service.

What a cozy warm and comfortable little gem in the heart of Amherstburg. We visited in the afternoon and Matt the owner was planning a large private event that was to begin within the hour after we arrived, but still made us feel very welcomed and gave excellent service. Mouth watering delicious espresso martinis (for 5 bucks to boot), and the appys we had were amazing. Brussels sprouts with brie and cranberry goodness, bacon wrapped scallops, and french onion soup. Yum Yum. Check this place out if you’re ever in Amherstburg. The service, staff, food and cocktails were top notch!

I’ve ate all over the world and this place is truly a gem (better than restaurant in NYC and LA!!) - the service was impeccable and the garlic bread I will remember for days. 10/10. Go here!!!

Lovely lunch spot! Meticulous attention was paid to every menu item. Service from Avery was also excellent. We were visiting from the US and will definitely be back. Notable dishes, lobster grilled cheese, skillet mushrooms to share, brie appetizer and bacon wrapped scallops.

We are absolutely thrilled. The Angus steak was a dream, and the tuna bowl was absolutely delicious! We're from Germany and are vacationing in Canada. This restaurant visit was the perfect end to a wonderful day. We would love to come back anytime, as everything at the Artisan Grill was just perfect. A huge compliment to the staff and the excellent cuisine!

This is the best restaurant I have been to ,staff were amazing owners are great classy very very clean place tasty food , Eva was the sweetest and the most wonderful person she was on top of things such an awesome girl very pleasant very kind I would recommend this place to any one. We had the private space for the wedding proposal it was just amazing thank you all for your hospitality and great service

We had such a cozy and wonderful lunch here on our trip to Canada. The soup and salads are delicious (especially the French onion). The service is lovely and everyone is so welcoming. Cocktails are delicious and very well priced. Overall fabulous place to eat!

Lovely restaurant that we popped in to try rather late on a Wednesday evening. Even though we were in our "vacation clothes", they gladly gave us a table. The surroundings are rather formal, as opposed to our attire, but we didn't let it bother us. I had the 7oz top sirloin, medium rare, and it was done perfectly. So many add-ons available! My spouse had the Asian Chicken Stir Fry and was pleasantly surprised how hot it was - right out of the wok! It was prepared for him gluten free with basmati rice. The seasonal veggies were yummy and not surprising considering all of the agricultural farming in the region. We added on side salads and the cocktails were lovely and inspired. Service was prompt, but not overbearing. Enjoyed our visit here!

I hate writing negative reviews, but unfortunately my family did not have a good experience in this restaurant. On the positive side the chairs were very comfortable and the decor and environment in the dining area was nice. The most significant negatives were the service and wait time for food. It was very slow - we waited almost an hour for our food after ordering , our waitress never brought the appetizer we ordered and I had to wait at least 15 minutes for my entree after the rest of my family received theirs. When my entree finally arrived it was average- not horrible but not great. I had the mushroom ravioli. My daughter ordered the spicy chicken Alfredo which she said was not very good. My husband and son ordered spicy chicken sandwiches which they said were just ok. My son's steak fries were bland and my husband said his salad tasted like it had been sitting around for a while. My other daughter ordered a chicken salad which she said was good. So out of 5 entrees only one was good and the others were just ok. The location of this restaurant is nice in the historic part of amherstburg, but the Salty Dog and Caffeine and Co just down the street have much better food and service. I would not go back to this restaurant.

Absolutely horrible experience! Waited over an hour for a table when the place wasn't even that busy and there were open tables everywhere. Then it took 15 minutes to get two drinks and our food took over an hour to come out. To boot, our server was nowhere to be found for the latter part of our dinner and we had to flag down other servers to inquire what the hold up was several times. When we went to speak to "management" about how dissatisfied we were with the experience and that it had essentially put a damper on what was a wonderful evening with family and friends , the Chef (Matthew) was who we were directed to speak to, and he couldn't have cared less and was ridiculously unprofessional. He had the gall to say that he didn't believe it would take that long for the food to come out (essentially stating that we were lying), asked me what I thought was appropriate action to take for this (What - that's YOUR job?!), ended up not offering any discount at all for the horrible experience and then stated we could "write a review". I was a server in my youth and I currently work in sales so I am out with clients at restaurants often and I have NEVER had an experience like this. If I could give negative stars I would. Your food was actually good but you need to do MUCH better when it comes to your customer service Artisan.

We have attended here several times and have been pretty happy with things until last evening. We had friends from Niagara on the Lake staying with us to celebrate my wife's birthday. Made the reservation two weeks ago and confirmed yesterday. When we arrived they asked if we had a reservation we said yes then another server said seat them anywhere we aren't busy. We were taken to a table that was only partially made up. Two side plates three napkins three wine glasses and no cutlery. We waited fifteen minutes before we had any one stop by the table. The server was completely overwhelmed and I'm sorry to say was clueless. We ordered wine and waited for eternity for it to be served. She just poured it and walked away. We asked for the table to be set up but that was just the first request as we had to ask three more times to get cutlery. We asked if we could order apps. We asked for onion soup....we don't have any! We asked for calamari.....we don't have any. Main meal I ordered Rigatoni with meat balls.....we don't have any meat balls! Ordered ribs and chicken but they were marginal at best. Chicken was dry and tasteless. Service took forever. I asked if there was a nagar of someone in charge but no one was in charge. I noticed a fellow dressed in shorts and. Tshirt behind the bar so I approached him. He was a chef but not on duty. I explained the situation and asked if they don't have product on a daily basis why open. He said the onion soup takes three days to make and made a bunch of excuses. He did come later and sat at our table while we were eating and wanted to know what he could do to make it better. We thought your the one in charge you tell us what you are going to do. It was quite uncomfortable having him sit there while we tried to eat but he finally combed the wine and apps. To top the night off we had to ask twice for the bill! This was certainly not what we have come to expect but other friends have said they experience a decline in food and service as well. Often they do not have what is on the menu. There was a sign outside advertising new menu items but for the most part they don't them available. Wondering if ownership has lost the interest or passion. Would love to be contacted to hear what is up. You have my contact info from the reservation!

Been here a handful of times now. Food is always fanatic! Service is always very friendly and personable. Food is extremely fresh and prepared with care. You can definitely tell the chef has passion for his work and has attention to detail.

This place is lovely. I really like the ambiance - rustic brick with a large, modern fireplace feature along the back wall. We came with a party of 7, and had a great time. I ordered the Asian Stir Fry with Steak, and noodles. It was amazing. Very flavorful and the steak was cooked perfect. Portions were a good size. They also have a rotating seasonal menu which is great. All and all, I do recommend this little gem when visiting Amherstburg.

Wow! I am from Toronto and wanted to get friends and family together to celebrate my mother's 80th. Did I pick the right place! The menu is really diverse and the specials were yummy. There were 20 of us so the logistics of serving us all is difficult, at best. But everyone was very happy. Larissa and Lucas made the experience even more amazing because of their exemplary service. I was the only one from out-of-town but you now have a bunch of future customers, with the Essex Cty gang, in attendance. Thanks for making my mother's birthday EXTRA special.

Last weekend my family and I went out to celebrate my mom's birthday. Our server was fantastic, she was very attentive and she was very apologetic for the kitchen. They were quite busy for the holidays which is understandable, most restaurants are like that at Christmas time. Our issue however wasn't with the speed of which our food came out, but was instead with what we heard in the kitchen. We sat in the dining room and heard the chef/owner Matt, lose control and scream relentlessly at one of the servers. He made it very clear that he didn't care if his patrons heard his meltdown. I can deal with slow service during the holidays, and yes the portion of the feature entree that evening was small, and those can be forgiven...but we were all very unimpressed with how the owner of the business treated his staff. We felt very embarrassed and very bad for the poor server that had to walk back onto the floor after being reamed out by her boss for the entire restaurant to hear. We have been going there every year to celebrate my mom's birthday as we like to support local, but we are all in agreeance that we won't go back to support a business owner who abuses their staff like that.

We had dinner with family. The Chef/Owner was walking around asking if we needed anything. 2 beers were ordered, he brought them out as well as a bottle of water. When the Chef took the bottle of water off the tray the 2 beers fell over and poured all over me, from my shoulder to my bottom, i was soaked. We had already been served apps, the Chef said he would comp the apps for the party and comp my dinner completely. This did not happen, and with a follow up call to the Chef the following week, he apologized again, and said he would send me some gift cards to be used the next time I would be in town, its a month later, and still nothing ! If you go there to eat, wear a raincoat !

I had the delicious halibut with arugula salad and garlic mashed potatoes and my sister had the top sirloin with grilled vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. The atmosphere was genuine and very relaxed, the waitresses were friendly and very caring. First great experience! I will definitely be going back, plus olde Amherstburg is beautiful and has an interesting history.

Mouldy Mousse Dessert. Ruined what was otherwise a very pleasant experience up until that point. Having a Culinary background , I was insulted on how the situation was handled , specially given how understanding I was during the situation with bringing it to their attention. Gave 2 stars because the food and service was good prior to the final course.

Our first time food was horrible. We gave it a second chance just as bad. We will never go back.

Food was good but we found the price, $24, to be high for the amount of the portions. The stuffed potato was no bigger than a large kiwi. The vegetable was Brussels sprouts, 2 sprouts, each cut in half. The full dinner of baby back ribs was very small. I would hate to see how many ribs you get with the half order.

was there on Jan.5 and not impressed the scallopes were very salty and the service was not the best . We got our dessert and after dinner drink and our bill at the same time and it wasn't busy. Talk about feeling rushed out the door didn't even ask if we wanted another drink just came back and asked if we were ready to pay.. Thanks for a quiet not out cut short.

We had dinner at Artisan Grill recently, with friends who live in the area. What a charming restaurant. Very good ambiance, nice menu, wine list, etc. My husband and I both had the Lobster Thermador. Very good! Waitress was very pleasant and gave us very good service. We will come back to this restaurant the next time we are in Canada.

the food was average. service was average. the place was too stuffy and felt too claustorphobic at times. i get why it's a more popular place for the older crowd though. meh i've experienced better......

First time eating here and it was very good, highly recommend. Service was great and food was excellent. Highly recommend the mushroom ravioli!

Wonderful Place! My daughter and I had an excellent dinner on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was busier than I expected for the time and day. The meals (Lemon Pepper Halibut and Almond Crusted Salmon) were delicious. The atmosphere was upscale but the clientele was casual. The friendly staff and a varied menu were added bonuses to a great evening. We topped it off with a sunset stroll through the garden park and the waterfront right across the street.

I think if there was a restaurant more deserving of more than 5 stars this would be it. I would say this is upscale comfort food. Although, that barely does it justice. I have been a half dozen times and still walk out feeling glad I went there. Service has always been flawless, food presents perfectly, tastes great and the value is good for the experience you get. Atmosphere is great no matter the occasion. We drive from Windsor just to visit this place when we can. Keep up the great work. Guys if you are reading this.... get off your @ss and take your lady out for dinner or even a glass of wine and some desert.
