Google
I absolutely love this store, located West of 5 freeway in the Arts District this is a great place for all your art supplies. whether your medium of choice are oil paints, acrylic paints or inks to screen printing and jewelry making they've got you covered. All of the employees I've dealt with know their stuff, even if it's not their particular field of art and or crafts. they always have some type of sale going on, last week it was 49% off select lines (luckily it was my stuff that was on sale) if there is a savings of money I'm there. link your phone there and you get money back go for your next purchase,, just ask the employees. nite: if I remember correctly, if you live in Los Angeles and you order online to be delivered, it more than likely ships from back east not locally double check first so there's no mix up on the product you need, sometimes picking it up is easier. Attached are some of the drawings I've done with products I've purchased here.

Google
Perfect spot for your art supplies. Beautiful wrapping paper too! Parking is tricky as its located on the side of the building. Markers, pens, paints, journals and an area with children activities. Respectfully Reviewed.

Google
Very helpful staff and so many things in the store! I was trying to make a project and they gave me all the suggestions for things to try. Store also has a lot of character, like a part of the community instead of a big box chain. Would recommend!

Google
This is the best art store in DTLA hands down, they have great markers by krink Molotow etc (kinda pricey) they usually always have low priced permanent acrylic markers at the register , I remember $2 metallic colored markers there most recently. They have resin supplies, easels, jewelry making things, everything you could need to make some really cool stuff !

Google
Good variety of stock! They even had a Japanese imported baren for woodblock printing. My go to store used to be Swains because of close proximity but this store is my new favorite because of their handmade and machine made papers.

Google
Love this place! Great staff! Good selection of supplies!

Google
I love this store. Lots of variety, always ask if you looking for something specific.

Google
Fun shop with many different items for many different specialties plus knowledgeable staff. Definitely worth a stop for specific or odd items

Yelp
This place is such a gem. I have been feeling really creative lately and was looking for an art supply store to do just that! Customer service was sooo helpful. This is an absolute hidden gem. Definitely coming back!:)

Yelp
Great place to buy art materials. The staff is knowledgeable about materials and I have learned from them alot; however their reward program is not longer the best to get good deals specially as an independent artist.

Yelp
This is an absolute hidden gym in DTLA arts district. I was looking for canvases and some other arts supplies and came across Artist & Craftsman Supply store. There was no parking lot but they had some available spots on the side of the store in the small alley. Street parking is available in the area as well. To my surprise when I walked in it felt like a Mecca of art supplies. Absolutely love the artsy vibe. The store was packed with wall to wall materials. Pretty much everything you could need. The staff was really proficient with guiding us around the store and educating us on what we needed. Prices were fairly decent as well. If you're in the area and don't wish to go to a typical chain art store, I definitely recommend Artist & Craftsman. Has just about everything you need with a touch of inspiration.

Yelp
I can easily get sidetracked in this fabulous art supply store. I'll need one item and then I will see so many wonderful and creative choices, that I walk out with more! The people working there are always friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful store, well-stocked, and fun to shop in.

Yelp
A great store with everything from serious drafting supplies for your Architecture class, washi tape for your journal, and pipe cleaners for your kid's birthday party. Also incredibly nice and helpful staff. It's so great to not have to go to Glendale for a craft store!

Jimenez L.

Yelp
Great service, love the atmosphere. The team really cares about their work. I like supporting small businesses like this

Yelp
Went in here today to buy stuff for my job ( I work for a well known painter ) Sold them out of etch ink because we are restocking and they basically shamed me for buying them out?? Situation felt very sexist one of the cashiers asked if I was just "buying random paint" .. if I was a Middle Aged man with paint on his pants this definitely wouldn't have been the situation lol. We not going back again... our bill was $1500 , a little respect would have been nice.

Yelp
This is a phone review. When I called I was treated so warmly by the staff. I didn't get each name but I did catch Sammie. I had the hardest time finding clear gesso for a mere paint-by-number project. Everywhere I called the arts and crafts stores either didn't carry it or they only had large tubs of it. I only needed a few ounces. Artist and Craftsman Supply had 32oz and offered to hold it for me. I needed less than 8oz but was overjoyed they had a bottle that wasn't so ginormous available. I said I'd call around for a smaller size and promised to call back to cancel the hold or come pick up by the end of the day I looked all over LA and ended up finding a 8oz all the way up in Glendale! Oh well. So I called as promised to cancel my hold with Artist and Craftsman Supply. And Sammie was so nice and enthusiastic about my painting project. I'll definitely start using Artist and Craftsman for my future projects

Yelp
So Usually when I read yelp reviews I assume that people are just exaggerating I was reading the yelp reviews for this art shop because I wanted to start sketching and wanted to find an electric eraser or something with small fillers to create detail and so I risked it and came here I left with more than I needed but I swear they have everything here. Gosh it's so wonderful to just get lost in there. A variety of brushes, charcoal, erasers, water colors, sketch books for everything. I was overwhelmed. And they have these cute pens right now. There's pens that are made to mimic a grass leaf (if that makes sense). I didn't get it because I had already grabbed 4 other pens lol and felt guilty getting a fifth LMAO. I'm gonna post what I got. The customer service was beautiful. Shout out to the lady with the glasses and the other lady wearing pink stockings. You guys are so helpful :3 Ps they are very generous to everyone. They give discounts to students, teachers, and vets. So it's wholesome

Yelp
Artist & Craftsman Supply store has been my go-to art supplies store for several years now. I first came here when I was into stenciling and spray-painting on canvas. They literally have every arts & craft item you could think of here (hence the store's name). Need stamps, acrylic paint, canvas boards, or an easel board? They have it. Heck, one day you may even find yourself wanting a 2x2 magnet with Bill Clinton's quote on it. Well hey, the store has it waiting for you- no judgments here. Anyway, prices are not cheap. Even though some stuff is 50% off, you can still easily spend $150-$200 here on just a few items. However, I will say that you get what you pay for. Most of their items are high grade/quality, therefore, you know the materials will last for years to come! In conclusion, I came here today to get my dad some art stuff because now that he's getting older (I mean, wiser) he thinks he's suddenly Picasso. But anything to make dad happy. I'm just glad that this store always has everything I'm looking for and then some! Do yourself a favor and visit this store for ANY artsy needs. Although the store has an overwhelmingly amount of items, the employees are very helpful and will help you find what you need.

Yelp
Easily my new favorite store! I was expecting a certain pompous attitude from the employees having been to Blicks, but everyone here was super friendly and actually seemed like they genuinely wanted to help with questions or whereabouts/costs of certain items. So 5 stars alone for the staff, but they also had everything I needed and stuff I didn't know I needed until I saw it/them. Will definitely be back closer to opening time as I was there near closing time so wanted to be quick. Love this spot for real

Yelp
Love this place. So much to choose from, middle of arts district. Dope staff and very knowledgeable. Hit this up for your art and craft needs for sureee.
google avatar

Trisha W.

Yelp
Fantastic staff who is really there to help you. They pick up their phone on the second ring, they always greet you when you walk in, there's always plenty of inventory. The staff is very knowledgeable about their products as most of them are working artists and or designers. Highly recommend to all. Expert tip: call and check to see if they have that product before you go in!
google avatar

Louie V.

Yelp
This place had everything I needed! I sell artwork and picked up some supplies to shop my art. Great prices, and everyone was very helpful and informative.
google avatar

Elton T.

Yelp
Came in, no greeting, no student discount, pricing at the register didn't match the sign and supplies was low. Customer service was bare minimum, the employees were even talking bad about customers who come in and didn't buy anything. This place used to be great, idk what happened but it's definitely not a 5star business.
google avatar

J L.

Yelp
These cats are awesome. I've come to them for supplies on a handful projects, and since I'm not too experienced with the technical side of art, their staff consistently guides me to the things I need, and even regularly points out less expensive brands while I'm just learning what I'm doing rather than always trying to sell the most expensive options. I'm seriously glad they're in my neighborhood, but I'd be happy ordering from them online too. Can't go wrong here :)
google avatar

Judah S.

Yelp
Great shop! I came here for some calligraphy paper and they had all sorts of other stuff I was interested in. I would 100% recommend this shop to other artists. The staff were friendly, they knew where things were and even did a demo of some of the tools.
google avatar

Gerry B.

Yelp
Checked them out last year and again this past week. Great selection. Social distancing. Sweet supplies you may not see elsewhere. Support!
google avatar

Pam S.

Yelp
This place was recommended by someone we met at Urban Radish. Terri was in heaven with all of the pens and I was not to far behind with the plethora of beautiful wrapping paper they stock. Located around the corner from Urban Radish, Church and State and Little Bear this is in the heart of the Art district and is right before you head over one of the bridges. Parking was on the side as well as in front. Staff was nice and helpful as well. Respectfully Reviewed

Bryan J.

Yelp
Better than Blick for sure. I've come in a few times recently since moving to the neighborhood. Shout out to the team and to Alex especially, he has been a great help every time - definitely above and beyond
google avatar

Joshua M.

Yelp
Great store but when I asked them for a attractive yet functional urine containers or beautiful vases that I could pee into like Robert Mapplethorpe for my next photo exhibit they looked at me like I was an asshole
google avatar

Sara J.

Yelp
I love this place! Good service and have everything to me (a beginner artist for now) Totally recommend!

Trai I.

Yelp
I went to this store for the first time today. They have a great selection of materials but the customer service was pretty bad. I was there about 30 -40 mins b/c I was unfamiliar with the layout. I even asked where the baskets were and they lady just pointed. Maybe just a bad day but no one said hello, a couple staff members followed me around(as if I stole something including that lady) and watched me from down the aisle but no one offered to help or said anything. The check out guy even had a nasty attitude but there was another guy in the store who had a cheerful disposition who offered to put my basket away, and told me to have a nice day (Think he also worked there but I'm not sure). I'm not sure if I'd go back after that.
google avatar

Gomar M.

Yelp
My go to art supply store. Absolutely amazing selection of products from Acrylic paints, oil paints, encaustic supplies, brushes, canvases, and so much more. If I'm missing anything for a piece I'm working on I know I can find it here or at the very least, the staff can point me in the right direction.
google avatar

Natasha M.

Yelp
Super friendly and helpful staff and a great selection of the supplies I needed. I will be back soon!
google avatar

Celia M.

Yelp
Found everything I was looking for. The staff was helpful and the prices were reasonable. The hard to find colors and brands that I was looking for were there in one place!
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
Gorgeous place, huge with serious and playful art supplies everywhere. Even before coming over here (and parking directly on 7th Street), they already earned high marks in my book by being helpful, informative and casual about my pre-purchase. That is, I called ahead and asked a bunch of questions. A & C Supply had so many options for the simple easel that my mind was fairly set on one or two options while talking on the phone. Once I got there, I found another that worked even better. Derrick (I think his name was) guided me over the phone and then in the store. Yes, they have other folks working but since he already knew my situation, they suggested I work with him. I doubt there's any commission going on here. Rather, it just seems like a good team is working well together. I liked how it was not at all selly. I liked how there were so many choices. I liked that I wanted to hang out a lot longer to explore the store. And, I'm not even that connected with the world of painting, drawing, et al. There is stuff here for all ages, and for all skill levels. And the prices seemed pretty great. I found what I wanted on sale, even. So, yay to Artist & Craftsman Supply.

Sophia P.

Yelp
Only came here because it was the closest to my job and was relying on the reviews of great customer service.. I could see how this is a great place for regulars or those who know what they need. No greetings or mentioning of student pricing. The only way I received help was when i waited at the register, suddenly someone appeared and just like that more came to I guess hear the conversation? It was subpar customer service just blunt answers with no explanation, got the vibe and just wanted to leave.
google avatar

Sara H.

Yelp
A little on the pricey side, but worth it if you live on the east side. Great local store. Small. Has free parking. Staff is welcoming and helpful always. They usually have everything I need. Never super crowded. Clean and organized. Hope to find more alcohol inks here so I can stop buying online. Paper, Canvas selection is fantastic. The craft section up front is super cute!
google avatar

Yelp
FUUUUuuuuunnnnn~~~ In the mood to create art? Or give Art to a fellow foe? Your at the right place. Be inspired by the rows and rows of art supplies at reasonable prices. Enjoy your share of canvases, frames, wood boards, poster boards, craft supplies, paint, spray paint, toys, stickers, color pencils, pastels, paper mache, masks, beads, yarn, and anything else you want to create with your grubby little hands. ..It's a great selection! The staff seems friendly and ready to help you out with any questions. I will be coming back =)
google avatar

Eunsoo J.

Yelp
This place offers pretty good variety of art supplies and options. Staffs were nice and friendly. Though I didn't really like the neighborhood all that much (I biked from Koreatown) and it was bit dinge, it shouldn't matter to you if you drive. Parking is offered. I can't tell if this place is particularly cheaper than other big named art stores like Blicks- but this place is DEFINITELY better priced than any other art stores in LA (including blue roosters in los feliz, raw materials in dtla, and other places I've been to). It seems like they have rotational discounts on different materials- like crafts and brushes were on sale when I visited. Definitely bring up 10% discount for students/ educators.
google avatar

Silvia G.

Yelp
My favorite art store in LA! I buy all my canvases, brushes, drawing supplies here. It is such an inspiring store, and the staff are all artists so they will freely give you tips and techniques. They often have great sales too, and they offer a discount for teachers.
google avatar

Adrian K.

Yelp
This store is pretty large and has a wide selection of both art and craft supplies. When I came in a bit ago I ended up finding everything I needed for my specific project. They have just about everything, and then some! The staff were really helpful, even when answering some super vague questions. I can't wait to come back for more.
google avatar

Marge B.

Yelp
Hands down the best art supply option if you live in downtown LA. Although parking leaves a lot to be desired, the staff is friendly and the store has a variety of products for different materials. While there are both art and craft supplies, it's not kitschy like Michael's. My one issue is that there was no real gouache section, which was the main reason I visited the store. However, I got a lot of other things I couldn't find in nearby brick and mortar stores, so I still left satisfied.

Alisa R.

Yelp
So many great arts supplies at AMAZING prices! I spent hours in here and left so inspired to create more. Hugh quality brands and lower end as well all for exceptional prices. Great sale items as well.

Richard K.

Yelp
Neatly tucked away near DTLA. Took dad here for a kite making project... didn't find what I was looking for but employee was helpful.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
I stumbled across this place a few days ago and was amazed with the variety of items they have. As their name suggests, just about anything you need for any art or crafts project can be found here. I will definitely be returning!
google avatar

Bryan B.

Yelp
This spot has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff and great prices! I always compare prices on Amazon and this place beats them.
google avatar

Johnny W.

Yelp
Art directing various forms of visual media these first two decades -- from popular television shows like The Bachelor & Top Chef to magazine covers including Elle & Air France to ultra indy experimental films by Lynne Sachs & Laura Colella, I've always been on the look out for an art store that met the demands of the variety of battles I incur on set - ARTIST & CRAFTSMAN SUPPLY has become my go to place. Anytime I need anything - i now go / come here first! Gold Leaf - got it! Spray paint - got it! Archival pens - get em! various forms of color - got them! OMG - THIS STORE IS THE THE THE art STORE !
google avatar

Clara B.

Yelp
Love this cool art supply store in my Downtown LA area. The staff is friendly and have amazing art supplies by Golden and other companies. Perfect place to go shopping for the artist and highly recommend them to my students. I recommend you call ahead and see if they have the products you want as well. It's really cool to Uber there, since I don't have car and it is less stress as well.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
Yaaaay! My favorite art store! Big selection, good prices and great customer service! Parking kinda sucks but everything here rocks so I look past it. I usually pick up art supplies here to de-stress from my job then stop by the McDonalds on 7th and Alameda to pick up a soft serve for 69 cents. Then all my troubles go away. TIP: Sign up for their mailing list! They have really amazing sales. Aaron Brothers has a sale buy 1 canvas get 2 free (also a good deal). But I've learned that when A&CS has a sale! It beats their pricing :)

Jerome B.

Yelp
Excellent service! Everyone is so nice. I love going there! Emily and the rest of the employees are such Beautiful people! They have everything!
google avatar

Brigitte S.

Yelp
This place is Artist Heaven. Every dang thing imaginable that you could need and much more. Emily helped us and she was a human sunbeam of kindness and care, although the store is layed out so intuitively-- it was easy to locate everything. Having just returned from there, my mind is blown by the dazzling array of inspirations within those walls. Just to walk through the large 2 story layout, ignites you into creating what is burning to come out next!! This Art Grocery Store is my new favorite place. (Note it is also exceedingly cost-effective; much, much better than Blicks.) I hadn't gone before thinking it might be on the pretentious side-- but it was the absolute opposite. I just fell in love even harder with the AD. Deeply grateful for such a treasure and will definitely continue to support it.
google avatar

Rene Y.

Yelp
I work close to this store and finally decided to pop in and check it out with my husband. It's nice that they have an area for parking, as this area can be a pain to park in. You have to back out of the lot, though, because there is no way to get your car turned around. We were impressed with the size and the large variety of art materials and gifts. Prices on some things are comparable to big box stores (Michaels or Hobby Lobby), but they offer so much more. I had my creative juices flowing just walking around and seeing several options! I hope to come back again soon with a project to work on.

Cynthia R.

Yelp
Staff is amazeballs. Knowledgeable, friendly, and know when to give you space to review all that is available. And the selection is rather vast in all categories, to Include items that you would not expect to find. This is my go to store for all things arts and crafts
google avatar

Dea J.

Yelp
Great store! They have a wider selection of hard to find items than in other art supplies stores. The staff is great also.

Carlo T.

Yelp
Just about everything I was looking for. I definitely will come back The price is decent

John G.

Yelp
Excellent art supply store. Fully stocked on papers, brushes, paints. Like the stores of old. Even has hand-made paper and stuff for stamping, craftbooking, and nifty party making supplies. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I will be a repeat customer!
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
What can I say?! This place is the best! There is really only one other art store in this area and it's more catered to the Sci-Arc's student curriculum. This place pretty much being the only art store in the Arts District does a great job! Being an Art teacher, it's all about resources and this place doesn't disappoint! They work very well with me for getting items for my students. The great thing about this place are it's employees! I've frequently go to this place, not only to buy for my students, but for myself, as well! I've been to many art stores where the employees don't know anything about art. They are there only for a job. When you talk to the employees here, they know what they are talking about and they are passionately creative! When you go there, ask for a lady there named Annie. She is quite knowledgable and friendly. She knows what she's doing and knows the inventory. This is not saying that other's don't because everyone there is highly knowledgable in their inventory and usage of the mediums, too. But, for the past couple of years I've been going, I consider her the goto person! The materials there are expansive. They have things there for children to children's birthday party gifts, crafty arts, to professional grade canvases, oil paints and supplies to the crafty artist's needs and everything for the self professed artist. All the prices there are quite reasonable and you feel like you've gotten your money's worth! When I went there, they got rid of the side door by the parking. As a result, everyone needs to use the front door on 7th. I personally liked the side door, but I understand that there is better flow through the place and it makes people walk passed all merchandise. I would suggest that they move the registers toward the front door rather than the "middle" of the store so they can control the merchandise better that leaves the store.... It's really nice that there is parking there. It's not the best situation, but It's Downtown LA and it's free! What can anyone complain about?! If you are someone that likes to doodle on paper, they have every pen possible. If you are someone that likes to paint for personally reasons or for selling, they have it all! If you are someone that likes to airbrush, face paint, sculpt, buy gifts for your kids, do calligraphy, wood work, etc... This place has it! Will I go to this place again.... OF COURSE! And, so should you!
