Google
A must stop in Yellowstone. Very impressive view of the canyon and waterfall. It may seem crowded, but there's many different lookout points and places to take pictures, so crowds move and clear quickly.

Sebastian

Google
Amazing view on the waterfall and canyon. I definitely recommend you to come here if you are nearby. You can park nearby or take the hiking trail.

John Craig

Google
An absolute must-see location if you're visiting Yellowstone. Offers the best view of the canyon and waterfall. Plenty of parking and easy to get to.

Google
Artist Point in Yellowstone National Park offered breathtaking views of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and the roaring Lower Falls, a place so beautiful it felt like standing inside a painting.

Google
Stunning, you’ll feel like u walked into a painting and your pictures will resemble post cards - sometimes it is difficult to believe it is real and not a painting. Short walk and well worth the stop!

Google
The perfect angle for me to watch the beauty of the canyon and the waterfall. Even in a gloomy day

Yelp
This is the most iconic view of the canyon. The walk from the large parking lot is only two minutes making this point very accessible. There's no restroom in the parking area but Canyon Village is very close. Multiple trails start from this parking lot so arrive early to avoid crowds going to the point and trailhead.

Yelp
If this isn't a five star view, I don't know what is. This place is an amazing vantage point for checking out the Lower Falls and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. At this spot, everything lines up perfectly, where you can take it all in with one magnificent view. Getting here is easy once you're in the park. Parking was easy with a dedicated lot, and a paved handicapped accessible trail. There is a bit of a grade, but all worth it once you get to the lookout view point. When I went, there was an actual artist there painting a scene with oil paints on a small canvas. I even pointed him out. Artist point. The area is nice, with lots of squirrels and chipmunks. There's a little fence that keeps you from falling into the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

Yelp
Out of all the lookouts I saw at Yellowstone this was by far my favorite one. I would HIGHLY recommend coming here before 10am-11am because that's roughly when the tour buses arrived, and at that point good luck getting any space to get a good picture. This is already a popular spot and there were plenty of people when I got here at 9am-9:30am although there were still a decent amount of parking spots available. I stayed here for a good 30 minutes taking the same picture because I just loved what I was seeing. Then I spent another 15 minutes just staring at the pictures I took, looking back up, and realizing that there was no filter added and it was exactly what it looked like in the pictures. The best part was right when I was about to leave another angle of the waterfall had a beautiful rainbow right in front of it. It was just amazing all around and you definitely need to make this one of your stops.

Yelp
In my opinion, this is the best place to see and photograph the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone! It is located on the south rim. You get a nice view of Lower Falls and both canyon walls on either side of it. Artist Point has an overlook platform where you can set up a tripod and camera or for just taking selfies with a smartphone. I even saw some people painting the canyon on a canvas. I ended up using the wall surrounding the overlook to support my DSLR when I took my photos (forgot my tripod). The parking area is a pretty large lot and the short trail to the lookout is paved. Bring some binoculars and take your time enjoying this breathtaking view of this amazing canyon. Artist Point is definitely worth the short drive.

Yelp
Artist Point is a MUST on your list to Yellowstone. We visited in late August and the weather was amazing. Very easy, parking is a breeze and the view is just spectacular. This is the end of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone but I started here first and worked my way backwards to the front. We came around the late afternoon and there was a lot of people but since it's not a hike, people were coming in and out fairly quick so it wasn't difficult to find parking. As you walk towards it, you can immediately see the falls but keep going so you have front row seats there. You won't get a close up of the falls but the landscape view is something you'd see as a computer wallpaper screen. To see it in person is a whole experience. As I mentioned, there were a lot of people there but there's 2 viewing areas and people were quick to take their picture and move on. Highly recommend and take the time to really appreciate how majestic and beautiful the entire landscape is because it is just, wow!

Yelp
The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is one of my favorite things at Yellowstone NP. Artist Point is one of the lookout points. We stopped at every lookout point on both sides of the canyon. This is my recommendation. Each provides an amazing view. This lookout is pretty far away, but you still get an amazing view of Lower Falls. This canyon and all of its overlooks are amazing. Definitely make sure to stop here!

Yelp
The artist point is probably the most impressive place to look at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. The unique combination of the Canyon Walls with it's yellow rocks, the wonderful Lower Falls, and the green trees around, is simply spectaclar! we lucked out .. a rainbow at the falls and the lighting was PERFECT. in the right light the canyon colors are so pretty ... the canyon isn't just tan rock like so many pics ... so many shade of orange, brown, red .. just lovely. The falls are impressive ... theres inclines and declines .. seems not alot is flat here. We are old and outta shape so all the hills and stairs were somewhat difficult. will walking the paved switchback to the falls my legs betrayed me and i almost lost my balance off the side. my hubby was quick to grab me and he put me on the inside of the trail. He takes good care of me :) this is a def one of the must see of the park.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best views of the Yellowstone Grand Canyon ! Highly highly recommend this point even if you're in Yellowstone just for a couple of days! The vista point is a quick .2 mile walk from the parking lot and is absolutely safe with not as much exposure to wildlife during the day time .

Yelp
Upon my second visit to this overlook, I overheard a kid saying to his Dad, "Wow, this is the money shot". Not really sure if that kid exactly knew he was saying (or the origins of the statement), but he wasn't wrong. Artist Point really is a highlight of Yellowstone.

Yelp
Great place to see the Yellowstone River, Lower Falls This is an easy place to get to by driving north on the Grand Loop road and turning off onto the Rim Road. Drive to the end of the Rim Road. There will be a long parking lot. From there walk down the path at the end to the viewing point. It is less than 100 yards down a good slope (all paved) and then turn around. The view is of the falls and the river. Great view and easy to get to. I highly recommend this for anyone coming to the park!

Yelp
Don't miss this!!! Easy walk from the parking lot and you will see The Grand Canyon of The Yellowstone with river below and huge waterfall in the distance. One of my top two places in Yellowstone Park.

Yelp
Beautiful! You can hike there or take your car to the parking lot and then go into the area and walk. A waterfall as well the the "Grand Canyon of Yellowstone" REALLY pretty!

Yelp
Amazing spot! The viewpoint is awesome, what more can I say?! The waterfall is in the distance, and the canyon is in front. There are also some benches in the shade on the path to this point if people just want to chill. It's pretty crowded with people all the time taking pictures, but the lookout point is also quite big. The parking lot also has a lot of spaces, and there are bathrooms too. Definitely highly recommend this spot in Yellowstone!

Yelp
Surprisingly, this was my absolute spot in Yellowstone. So this particular area, is comprised of the upper and lower falls along with the Yellowstone Grand Canyon. If you follow the maps/trails you'll end up visiting both the north and south rim at different points on the river. If you are short on time, this is the BEST view. You get to see the falls, the color walls, the whole canyon. It's just simply the best option. DO NOT MISS IT!

Yelp
Located at the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, this is a must-see and do while in the park. It's a great photo-op and somehow I have lost mine. Go figure. You can do as much or as little as possible here. You can just park and view, or there is hiking for better views and pics. The waterfall and colored canyon walls are breathtaking. One of the many beautiful sights in the park. Don't miss it.

Yelp
I entered the park through the south gate and with my senior pass it was free. You get a map as you enter the gate with all the lookout sites clearly shown. In my opinion Artist Point (view of the Upper and Lower Falls in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone) is the most spectacular non-geothermal feature in Yellowstone. There are a number of different viewing points of the falls like Lookout Point, Red Rock Point, Brink of the Upper and Lower Falls and Uncle Tom's Trail View but the Artist Point view is the best and easiest to get to. There is a trail off of Artists Point that leads you to Uncle Tom's view which if you have the time is worth the effort. Bring some binoculars and you will see ospreys, ravens, sparrows and bald eagles nest along the 1,000 foot canyon walls. It's amazing what a volcanic eruptions 600,000 years ago can start and lava flows, glaciers, earthquakes, wind and water can finish. Artist Point was given it's name by Park Photographer F. Jay Haynes in 1883. The red colored walls are iron oxide while the yellow and other colors resulted from hydrothermal forces which altered the structure of the rhyolite walls. The off season is a great time to go to Yellowstone. Summer traffic is frustrating and slow. Watch for tick morning fog. Animal crossings especially at dusk and dawn. Some even like to lay down on the warm paved roads. Finally there is constant road work so check the Yellowstone website for locations or just stop at the visitor's center and they will inform you.

Yelp
Artist Point is hands down the best view in all of Yellowstone. From the parking lot it is a short walk to the overlook of Lower Falls and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. It is simply stunning!! After checking out the overlook, if you are looking for an incredible hike, I suggest the hour round-trip journey to Point Sublime. We did it around 10am and we were the only ones on the trail. It was awesome! You hike along the rim of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone until you reach the overlook of Point Sublime. It really is breathtaking. A must do hike if in the area!

Yelp
Nice leisurely walk to a point with a good view. Uncle Tom's hike is better, but this is a nice stroll.

Yelp
Beautiful, iconic downstream view of Lower Yellowstone Falls and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. To see the Lower Falls more closely, I prefer the Uncle Tom's Point hike on the same road or Lookout Point across the river. But by far the best view of the canyon is had here. Parking is usually easier to find here than other locations, and the overlook is just a short walk from the parking lot. For even better views of the canyon, continue along the south canyon rim on the Point Sublime trail. It is a easy to moderate 3 mile round hike. The end vista isn't amazing with some trees obstructing the view, but along the way the trail often travels right along the cliff for some impressive views along the way. I love this area of the park. It's best viewed in the morning when the canyon rock glows, and visiting in the Spring or Fall has the best hiking temperatures and smaller crowds. I highly recommend a stop here, and if you're not up for the longer hike then at least check out the point.

Yelp
Hiked there every single day I was at yellowstone. Just magnificent. Short of words to describe this natural beauty.
