Artistic Tile

An excellent resource for natural stone tile! Artistic Tile stands out for its wide selection of natural stone tiles, the truly excellent service and design support provided by Paul, and its short lead times on tile (1-2 week shipping time from its East Coast warehouse). Pricing was reasonable. The website has good inspiration and functionality, including the ability to view specific marble lots, which vary. Paul helped with some excellent design ideas and when ultimately natural stone didn't fit with our design concept and the decisions we had already made, he was the first to suggest alternatives that, unfortunately, did not result in a sale for him. He listened well, his advice was excellent and independent, he was articulate about design, and nothing but pleasant to work with.

Much better and more reasonable than Ceramic Tile Design!

After searching high and low for the right tile for my remodel and having a few negative experiences at some of the other SF tile places - I was so relieved to walk into Artistic Tile showroom and meet Paul and Victoria. They are both so smart and kind - they immediately helped me zero in on what would work best for my bathroom and happily ordered me custom tile samples in the color / shape combinations I wanted - so i could get a real feel for what the end result would look like. Once I made up my mind - Paul pulled a few strings to get my custom tile order expedited so i could meet the tight deadline of my General Contractor. Whew. And the BEST part is I LOVE my tiles (my new bathroom is gorgeous) and I loved the process of working with Paul and Victoria to make those tough decisions. And finally to have the impeccable follow through with Paul when I ordered and received delivery. Remolding can be hellish - it made such a big difference to have their support along the way. : )

We had a really disappointing experience with Artistic Tile and do not recommend working with them :( Their stone quality is equal to other vendors but their markups are much higher (by over 100%, even with trade discounts). They have a very nice showroom in the design center but as their client, you're paying their rent, not access to better quality products. They also claim to have excellent customer service, which was not our experience. We were extremely patient with them when they sent us stone from two different lots, tried to deny it, finally admitted it when I showed photos of the dramatically different colorations, then only offered a 10% rebate. We even tried to contact the corporate office with no success. They offered us discounts on future tile orders but when we tried to apply it to our other stone order (for a different bathroom) it was ineligible because "it had already shipped". When that second shipment of tile finally arrived, its quality was average (at best) compared to other vendors (yet much more expensive) and when we asked to return it, they said we would have to be responsible for all of the shipping charges. We have given them multiple opportunities to do the right thing but unfortunately they have not done so.

The place was recommended by our interior designer and indeed we loved it. Chevonne helped us around and show us samples that can work. It is pricey and they are losing a star for it, but the quality of the tile and the customer service were really good. We ended up getting a blue backsplash for our kitchen from them and I love the look. They even finished the edges on few tiles so we don't have to use a trim! It took a couple of months but it was a custom work so I get the longer wait.

Very nice and patient sales people. However, be warned that if you use one of their recommended tilers (they have a sheet on display in the showroom) and you have issues with the tiler failing to follow the manufacturer's (Artistic Tile's) installation instructions (included in the tile boxes) they will simply wash their hands of the situation--"We can't take sides." It was a very disappointing end to what had previously been a very positive experience.

Allie at Artistic Tile is GREAT! We recently remodeled all 4 bathrooms in our house, and Allie helped us with the tile in 2 of them. We worked with 3 different tile stores in all, and Allie was by far the most helpful and knowledgeable. She's enthusiastic and creative and most of all, she truly wants her customers to be happy with the final product.

We called Artistic Tile and explained the type of tile we wanted. We were delighted that Heidi had several samples ready when we arrived after our 45 minute drive from Menlo. We had multiple questions after bring the samples home, and she answered them all with great patience. Heidi was a joy to work with and has great artistic sense.

Pamela was fantastic. She listened and suggested the perfect tile for me. I simply couldn't have made the decision without her encouragement. I highly recommend Artistic Tile
