We had a second floor suite right in the middle of town. Great experience. The room was nice and clean. My only comment being that the flooring is due for an update, but it didn't detract from our stay at all. Also, this is not a place to stay if you want quiet. You are downtown and will hear everything. There are shops outside your door. It added some fun to our stay. We will be back.

Very cool shaker style /rustic inn with a great staff. Great location, it’s close to all the shops and restaurants in town. The restaurant at the Artist Colony Inn is a great place to eat and too convenient if you’re staying there to pass up.

We loved our stay. The only thing wrong was we didn't plan to stay longer. The room was clean, neat ,and we loved the decor. We had a balcony that made for a quiet, relaxing place to finish the evening. The hotel is perfectly located among the shops and restaurants in the area. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had breakfast before leaving for a day of shopping and it was delicious. Will definitely plan to come stay again.

Great location with prime parking included in room rate. We had the deluxe queen room with a porch facing main street (no rocking chairs, patio table and chairs). Comfortable room, asked for a coffee maker and got one. Asked for wine glasses, no problem with that. Don't plan to check in early it didn't seem that was an option. But we did get our parking pass a few hours before 4 pm check in which was very nice. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon/night and most shops closed at 4 pm which we did not know in advance. The Inn's restaurant closed at 7 pm which seems a bit early until we saw that the Out of the Ordinary bar closed at 8 pm. Maybe they are open later on the weekend. Buffet breakfast was all you can eat ordered from the kitchen, good food at a reasonable price $12.49/each plus beverages.

My husband and I just spent a couple of Beautiful Fall days in Nashville, Indiana. We stayed at the Artist's Colony and were so pleased with our entire stay. The location in town was perfect, our room was nice-with a balcony that overlooked a courtyard fully decked out for the season. The restaurant downstairs stairs was convenient and very tasty! The staff were all very nice and helpful. Thanks to all. Can't wait to return!

Google
Cute little restaurant with great service. We stopped on a whim to eat breakfast with a large group and we were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast buffet. The choices and prices were fair and decent. It had a little bit of everything for everyone at a reasonable price and everyone left happy. Service was also great!!

My wife and I enjoyed two nights during peak October season. Very nice ,quaint room. Recommend one of the rooms with a balcony. Location is perfect with a short walk to all the shops and restaurants. Very friendly staff. Had lunch at the onsite restaurant. Good meal and a good value. Highly recommend the Artist Colony Inn!

Google
Great location; in the middle of Nashville. Room was large and clean. The decor is colonial. Our beds were adorable and quite comfy. Didn’t hear any noise. Parking is behind the hotel; so just park back there; they will give you a parking pass. The bathrooms are good size. Check in is 4pm exactly so don’t haul your luggage in before then. If you go to the Nashville music center; there is a shuttle that will pick you up at subway which is about a block away. We walked via a walking trail that is located right across from the subway; but caught a ride on the shuttle to get back to subway then walked back to the hotel. You don’t have to make reservations for the shuttle. Highly rec the hotel. Also food at the restaurant was delish and the staff super nice

Yelp
Great place to stay downtown. Everything is walking distance. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. No complaints. Already planning a return trip.

Yelp
We decided to take in the fall leaves of Brown County today and decided to lunch at Artist's Colony Inn. Surprisingly we only had about a 15 minute wait on their list. I guess a weekday to visit Nashville in the fall is the time to go. They were busy but not too. Our server Sarah was nice and very helpful with menu items. We both decided on a slice of quiche with a cup of soup of the day. Today was homemade potato soup and it was hot and tasty. The quiche was also homemade and just ok. They had a great looking menu with several tempting items listed. Maybe on another visit. The pies sounded yummy too but I was too full to try today. Prices were quite reasonable. They had seating in the dining room and outdoor seating on the wraparound porch. It also looked like they had private dining rooms available for events.

Yelp
Going to Nashville, IN is a semi-rare treat, and we always enjoy stopping by the Artists Colony Inn for a meal whenever we're in town. Food: The food quality is always great. Think of it as a Cracker Barrel, but with local charm and none of the chain restaurant vibes. Service: Service is always with a smile, and we've never felt ignored here. Ambiance: This is, I think, their best asset. You can't beat the location, and the massive fireplace in the main dining area makes you feel like you've stepped back in time.

Yelp
Cute restaurant. We go here every year when we visit as a bit of family tradition. Decent selection, fast service, great location

Yelp
Very nice place to stay in the heart of Nashville. We did have an issue with the a/c in our suite. The manager was very helpful and attentive and did everything possible to help make it right. That makes all the difference! Very pleased with the way it was handled. The room was clean and nice to have the kitchenette. We had breakfast in the restaurant downstairs and it was delicious and reasonably priced. They gave us our parking pass well before check in and said we could keep it for the following day after we checked out. We would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
We stayed at Artists' Colony in October. Prices were higher as many places are now. The breakfast is no longer included with a stay. The Inn is clean, but any hallway noises are bound to wake you. The rooms also have no light blocking blinds or blocking of the street lights. Sadly we won't be staying here in the future.

Yelp
First thing, weren't all that thrilled about the pay to park in their parking lot. It's literally all we went to Nashville for today. We went there for breakfast because I have always wanted to go eat all you can eat breakfast somewhere and can never find it. We were warned against going for breakfast, but the restaurant has good reviews, and it's my birthday, so we went. Well, we shouldn't have. The tiny biscuits in the biscuits and gravy were crunchy. The bacon was way overdone. I liked the quiche, breakfast potatoes were okay but a lot of them were a little too crunchy, and the fried potato bites were decent...but while the flavors were fine, none of it was very warm. Just not worth the hour round trip and $35. My husband also had hair in his biscuits and gravy. Didn't really have the heart to complain to the waitress. Just left disappointed and we probably won't ever go back. The apple butter was very good, and the fried biscuits were too, but it's hard to mess up fried biscuits.

Yelp
Fitting hotel for the town. Staff are very friendly both in the inn and restaurant. All you can eat breakfast is included with your inn stay. My husband loved the breakfast, especially the fried biscuits with apple butter.

Lore G.

Yelp
Staff was warm and friendly and helpful. Room was small but clean. There was a small table and two chairs. It was adequate for the 2 nights we stayed and in a location at the center of it all. If you are looking for a room with a comfy seat to read, this isn't the place. The food in the dining area left a lot to be desired. Definitely do not recommend the chicken pie, which was reheated (twice) and clearly not freshly prepared. Breakfast also wasn't freshly prepared.

Yelp
I visited on Columbus Day, 10/10/2022, Nashville proper was very busy ! The restaurant at Artists Colony had an hour wait. It was just me so I decided to wait and I am sure glad I did, the service was superb. Sue was my waitress she took care of numerous tables. She was pleasant, checked on me often, and made sure the meal was delicious. The food preparation was fast even though they were super busy. The hostess helped out cleaning the tables and keeping watch for empty tables to get someone off the list. The absolute only negative would be I wish they could find time to repaint the chairs black and get the throw rugs cleaned. Overall, its a great place. When places are this busy it is helpful if you as a patron, look over the menu and are ready to order when seated. Also, be considerate of others when you notice folks waiting an hour perhaps visit after the meal somewhere other than at this table, so it can be cleaned and folks can be seated.

Yelp
Artists Colony Inn Restaurant is one of the few dining options that has a menu that isn't pizza and is open past 6; they're open till 7. On a Saturday. The menu features a fairly wide variety of foods with the majority focused on the home-cooked variety. Our table had the meatloaf and the chicken fried steak. While I take umbrage with the idea of corn being the vegetable of the day, I was more unhappy with the saltiness of the food. Too much! The portions were robust, the prices good. The fried bread with apple butter was flavorful but I wasn't expecting them to be covered in cinnamon and sugar like little donuts. Not bad, but more a dessert than an appetizer. Service was fine. The location is great, right on the main drag and easy to get to from almost anywhere in the downtown area! Overall, though, I think I'll keep looking around for dining options.

Yelp
The restaurant is located in downtown Nashville, IN. Several shops are nearby, so you can take a walk after eating some good food. There is a $5 parking lot in the back, but plenty of options to parallel park on the side streets. The waitress was very attentive. I ordered catfish, fries and a house salad. I was hoping for a more broad selection of side dishes. The entree was good, but the apple butter and biscuits are delicious! The restrooms were clean and well stocked. Considering that the restaurant was clean and the food was good, I'll have to give this place an 8 out of 10. If I rate the apple butter and biscuits alone, it gets an 11!

Yelp
We stopped here for breakfast. They have an all you can eat buffet for $10.50 that includes a drink. The food was good and service was very good. They ask you to check off everything you want from the buffet on a list and the server gets it for you. Nice, historical vintage atmosphere with an open dining room.

Yelp
We went to Brown county for a day trip and stopped in at Artists Colony for lunch! It was delicious! The chicken tasted like it had been marinated for a while in something amazing! The mashed potatoes and gravy were silky smooth and the steamed carrots had just a touch of sweetness, but we're so tender and tasty. My girls both had the kids chicken tenders with fries and my son had a cheeseburger with fries. I had three happy campers! We would definitely go back!

Yelp
Oh the memories. From the days of Dorian at the front desk (and Dorian if you happen to see this - hope you are doing well) to present day - Artists Colony Inn has always felt like home to me. Well ran establishment. The catfish sandwich and sweet potato fries still rate high on my favorite Nashville meals list. Sitting on the balcony enjoying a coffee in the morning from Hal's place across the street (new owners now and they are lovely people too) to wrapping up your day on the balcony with a glass of wine from Brown County Winery a stone's throw a way - Artist Colony Inn offers location, location, location, ambience and a relaxed vibe - even during peak tourist time in the fall. My better half and I stayed this summer and it was like time had stood still since my last visit. Very well ran hotel with a staff that always has gone beyond the extra mile.

Yelp
Good location, the room walls are thin allowing you to hear talking in other guest rooms. The absolute WORST mattress ever. No box springs so the broken down mattress sagged directly to the foundation. Two other rooms had the same problem. There should be a separate "mattress review" section in all reviews.

Heather T.

Yelp
Caveat: this review is for the restaurant ONLY!!! We did not stay at the hotel. We spent the weekend in Nashville, IN and on the first day we went to one "highly recommended" breakfast place and were sorely disappointed. But, while out shopping we spotted a sign stating "all you can eat breakfast" at Artists Colony so we decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did. The menu is limited (scrambled eggs vs. eggs of choice, french toast, not pancakes, etc.) what they have is above average for the area. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and the biscuits with apple butter. The biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were a bit dense, they were, at least edible and there was actual sausage in the gravy. The biscuits and apple butter, IMFG was I in heaven. they come coated in cinnamon/sugar and the apple butter is warm and it was like eating a hug. The apple butter alone was enough to make you sigh. For a second round I ordered french toast and used that instead of syrup. My husband ordered the potato balls and he liked them so much he ordered them 2 more times. He is the pickiest eater on the planet so if he ordered them again, they had to be good. He described them as "deep fried mashed potato balls." the service was fast and friendly. We didn't have to wait 2 hours for mediocre food. But we waited 10 minutes for really good food. Not only that, they were right on top of coffee refills, removing empty plates, asking if there was anything else we needed. After multiple trips to Nashville, IN, this is now our "go-to" breakfast place.

Yelp
We like to visit the ACI for breakfast. They used to have a breakfast buffet, which they've changed since covid-19. They now let you choose your buffet items and they bring them out. Great idea! The food is just as delicious as before and the service is just as excellent. I recommend the French toast and apple butter and bread. So good!

Yelp
We ate here because several other places were closed. They told us 20-25 minutes, it ended up being about 50 minutes. They were in no hurry whatsoever. A young male collecting parking fees was exceptionally rude to customers waiting to be seated. Once seated, food was slow to come. I asked for sweet tea and got unsweetened tea. We had to wave staff down for coffee refills. My salad lettuce was turning bad. The turkey Manhattan I ordered had cold mashed potatoes and the Turkey was extremely dry and overcooked. We gave it to a dog. The salmon was dry and overcooked. The corn was dried out and tasteless like it had been under a lamp or rewarmed several times. Our waitress would ignore my questions and act like she didn't hear me. Definitely would not return. Meal was over $50 for two people and we hated the experience.

Yelp
We were looking for somewhere fast to grab breakfast. This place was fast and all you can eat. You were given a paper to check off what you wanted at first which was great Bc I didn't feel like a pig. The bfast potatoes were delicious. The pancakes were good but small so order more than you think. The only dislike you had to say what you wanted more of so then I felt like a pig. Even though the portions were small I hate asking for more food. I feel like people are judging me. All together it is a good value. The muffins are obviously store bought. The food is fresh and hot.

Yelp
Friendly, homely environment. Always wonderful food, fast service, and friendly employees. The Sun fries are a MUST get.

Yelp
Went for breakfast on a Monday morning. Not busy at all. Our server was friendly. Very weird way to order now- not sure when they started this. You mark down on a piece of paper what you want put of a list of choices they have printed on the slip. My husband and I ordered the biscuits and gravy and it was not hot. It wasn't terrible, but it should have been served warm. Bacon was okay but very salty. I don't think we'll go back.

Yelp
The only half way friendly person was my waitress who seemed friendly yet strangely stressed while not that busy perhaps I missed the rush Atmosphere matters Note: Wearing mask you can still see smiling eyes clearly not happy staff front desk most unfriendly customer service No Thank you for supporting our business The quiche was good, scrambled eggs cold rubbery and the potatoes hot outside cold runny inside Biscuits and gravy was good not a lot of heart in this place Lunches have been better in past You can't blame Covid for poor customer service "Just be Kind" Visit this establishment for lunch I have and it was delicious

Yelp
The location of this hotel is wonderful & so is the dining room/restaurant! However I can't say the same about the guest rooms, they could certainly use some upgrades and CLEANING! The thin mattress is on a piece of plywood & disgustingly dirty at the head of the bed. The lamp in the bathroom had dust so thick on it and so did the lamp shade! I would suggest a thorough cleaning in the off season! There is no place to hang clothes or put them, you basically live out of your suitcase. For $160 a night I would have liked it to be cleaner! Even discussing the conditions with a local shop owner, he thought is was unacceptable. Hopefully this draws someones arrention!

Yelp
Memory lane. This place is simple, pure and cozy. The town shuts down around 9pm and everything is adorable. I highly recommend coming here and hiking in Brown County while the leaves are changing. I even came to this hotel in the winter time and enjoyed the simple things in life: the Christmas twinkle lights that lit the street, cute old houses, ice cream shop, and Quaff On! brewery and pizza. The rooms are sweet- with four post beds, quilts, and lights that look like rustic candles. There are little loaves of pumpkin bread in each room, and breakfast is included with your room (a breakfast buffet with biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, APPLE BUTTER, fruit, and more). I always look forward to it.

Yelp
PATRONS AWARE: highly unsanitary !!!!! This place was the dirtiest place in terms of food preparation and dining ware that I have ever been to. For starters, my friend was served a coffee that already had someone's lipstick on the edge of the cup. I was mortified. She asked for another one while we laughed at the awkward and disgusting moment. Then, I get my silverware and they were also dirty. I attached a picture of this. It almost looked like the same lipstick or something else. FINALLY, I open my plastic container of mayonnaise and sticking to the underside of the lid was a hair. It was attached to the inner top of the lid and inside the mayonnaise. I can't believe we stayed and ate our food. We laughed at the experience and gagged while we made jokes at what else could possibly go wrong. But after our meal we booked and will never be back to this place.

Yelp
Artists Colony is smack dab in the middle of town and surrounded with quaint little shops including a toy store and old-timer photos. The establishment is both an inn and restaurant. Im not sure how the inn is but my family were not welcomed by the hostess (maybe owner) at all. She basically gave a cold shoulder like we were not welcome. We had a stroller with us for my 2 young boys and we had to leave it in entry way which meant I had to go back and forth. The corner we were placed in was tight and right by the kitchen. People would naturally try to walk through the galley because it seemed logical in the set up, but staff kept saying get out or you can't go that way. I asked our waitress what she like here and she quickly recommended the Catfish and Ribs. My wife and I went with her suggestion of the fish and fries which were tasty but the sides needed something. We were hoping for a pleasant meal, but the welcome was not so welcoming. We will not be going back to this place again. I would recommend trying another restaurant in town instead.

Yelp
This experience was.. interesting. It started off with absolutely none of the staff wearing masks. The mask mandate was lifted just a few days ago & there is no way all of the employees have been vaccinated already. For almost $400 a night there was poor customer service. We had booked this hotel for my 2020 graduation from IU and obviously a pandemic happened and we almost were told to pay for the room we booked but not come stay. After a lot of negotiation we were able to reschedule our stay. Before our arrival we asked if there was a chance to upgrade to a balcony room and were told they were all booked out until we arrived in our room and noticed there were multiple wasps in there- YIKES! Overall, everything worked out but i would recommend booking way in advance for graduation or staying on an off night because it's hopefully cheaper and more worth it.

Yelp
We have been coming here for 10+ years and have always loved it. Never a problem. Tonight was a different story. Our waitress accosted us at the door saying we didn't leave enough of a tip. We left 15%. We were shocked and embarrassed as she addressed us in front of other customers. Then another female worker yelled at us not to come back. We complained to a male worker who agreed we were treated very poorly and apologized profusely. He even refunded our tip back onto our card. Im shocked to have been treated so badly at a place my family and I have loved for so many years. Looks like there is a group of mean girls working in there and it is going downhill. I've always recommended this place to family and friends but will no longer do so. Very sad about this.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here on a recent weekend getaway. The convenience of having a room and eatery right in the middle of downtown Nashville was a perfect combination for us. The Brown County Music Center is just around the corner and less than a 5 minute drive. Once we checked in we were provided a free Breakfast Buffett for each guest that is normally $9.99 a person. When we entered our room it was styled as a late century style with a four poster bed, large plank hard word floors and a lantern style wall lamp. It was very fitting for Nashville and a little nostalgic. The room also had a complimentary pumpkin bread loaf left by coffee maker every morning. The bed was not terrible but it was without a box spring. I can't judge beds as I have slept on a sleep number bed for years and nothing compares to those at all. The view from room 201 was perfect! We had a large walk out balcony with table and chairs. The snow and ice kept us from utilizing it to its full capacity but next time we are back we definitely will. It did keep my Beer cold! There is no mini fridge in the room so be prepared. The walls are a little thin but with my stay in several places this last year it seems the be the norm any more. The front desk was efficient and pleasant at check in and check out. There is an elevator if needed since there are three floors. I think our room is the only room with a large balcony. There are a few others with small balconies. The descriptions of the rooms don't really portray which room has what style of balcony. I just really studied the pictures and took a best guess. The Breakfast Buffett had eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, oatmeal, pancakes, bacon, fried potatoes and fruit. I'm sure I'm missing something else but it was included and tasty. There are shops right outside and all around the Inn. Parking is included if you are a guest and the lot is right behind the Inn with easy out and in.

Yelp
So while in Nashville today my family and I tried this restaurant out for lunch, I really liked the look of the inside just wasn't impressed with the food and way over priced for what they serve. The waitress we had was very nice but as I said the food was just mediocre. Not much more to say about this restaurant just a bit disappointed for as long as this place has been around figured it was something super.

Yelp
Stopped here a little over a week ago for both lunch and then breakfast the following morning. I'll give an extra star for the atmosphere, as it's quaint, cozy, and has some "old-fashioned" charm. The location is excellent. However, I can't find many good things to say about the food itself, and the service wasn't great. Waitresses acted like they didn't want to be there, and though they were somewhat courteous, they were weirdly aloof. Grilled cheese was good, but nothing to really write home about. Fries, mashed potatoes, and gravy were mediocre. The glazed carrots tasted like they were boiled in an elderly woman's perfume...it was very weird. The rest of my party seemed to mildly enjoy their country fried steaks and pot pies. The breakfast buffet was just kind of...okay. Nothing stood out and a lot of the offerings were bland or soggy. Overpriced for what it was, but at least the food was warm. Gravy was actually decent, and the bacon wasn't bad, but it's pretty tough to screw up bacon. However, one person in my party ordered pancakes, and they were really terrible. Burned on the outside, under-cooked in the middle, and bland as all heck. If you must get breakfast here, stay away from the pancakes. Thanks, but no thanks.

Yelp
I feel conflicted after eating here. The staff are friendly and nice. We were served pretty quickly. The location is really convenient and we parked out back for $5. The interior of the restaurant is really cozy, like being in someone's house. Lots of natural light from windows and not a lot of artificial light. Now the food... Hmm. Personally I wasn't impressed. I got the pot pie which was listed as a specialty. Who doesn't love pot pie? It came as a bowl of pot pie filling with a medium sized chicken shaped pastry on top. I've never had pot pie that way personally. I love the crust so I like an actual pie. Filling tasted pretty salty and the pastry was dry and bland. I didn't like it much. I got the sun fries as a side and that however was amazing! I love sweet potato fries and these were good. The brown sugar sauce was a little grainy but soo good! Loved the fries but the entree was a let down. Loved the atmosphere though!

Yelp
This was my second time here, the first time was years ago before Yelp! We enjoyed our meal. It was tasty and prompt. We had the grilled chicken sandwich, Queso Burger, Chicken Tenders, and fried shrimp. All pretty basic stuff and it was all great! The day after my daughter asked if we could go back because she liked it so much. This place is pretty solid. Quick service, good food, and a nice quiet atmosphere.

Yelp
The restaurant while cozy has terrible service and the food is really hot or miss. The first time we came for lunch our food was cold, next for supper both my and my wife's food had hairs in it. Next we decided to give them one more shot with breakfast. During COVID they give you a sheet to fill out for all you can eat, we filled ours out and waited. Everyone seated after us got food and our slips were still at our table. She finally came over and said she forgot us. Hard to do since we were right in the middle of all her other tables and she only had 5. Food was burnt and unspectacular in every fashion. This is strike 3 we won't be back.

Yelp
Bang for your buck:5/10 Quality: 6/10 Service: 3/10 Ambiance/Location: 10/10 Overall: 5/10 Service was HORRIBLE! It took forever for a server to take our drink order, and then we waited about another 20 minutes for our food order to finally be taken. Once we got our food it wasn't great. Think of a cross between Cracker Barrel and a hospital cafeteria.

Yelp
It was not good at all. Everything tasted microwaved. The onion rings were burnt, water glasses were dirty and very small. Staff is friendly but we won't be back. Expensive microwaved meal. Rugs in dining area need cleaned desperately Not biker friendly

Yelp
Stopped in here to grab a small bite to eat. Just had a soup & salad, which tasted fine, nothing special. Service was good, but the environment was so chaotic. While my mom & I waited to be seated, we listened to how other parties waiting were treating the hostess. Just so awful. I guess this review is just about the type of cruel people who eat here. My mom & I defiantly didn't fit in here like the other costumers, who I assumed a few were regulars. I just feel bad for the whole staff.

Yelp
All work, all play! I had a work retreat at this hotel and it was so perfect! Even though we had to do work, we had a great time of relaxation also... Thanks to this cute little hotel! I give this hotel 5 stars because of its great location, wonderful service, and it's peaceful environment. The hotel is located on the Brown County strip where all the action is. I legit looked out of my balcony and could see all of the adorable Brown county shops! Such a treat. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. They helped us with every possible request and bent over backwards for us. Lastly, the rooms were so peaceful. The beds were very decorative and spacious. The Internet was a bit spotty and the TV was small but it was a great challenge to put the electronics down and just enjoy the peace and quiet. I am already searching for a weekend when I can get away to this sweet place! My island of peace!

Yelp
Oh my how I wish I could open a restaurant in Nashville. I would open a place with local fresh ingredients that made food taste great. Alas... I am not doing this. So, when I go to Nashville and am hungry I select which restaurant I want to wait 75 minutes to sit. This visit, we selected this restaurant. I wish I would have selected speedway gas station on the corner. The food here was better than speedway (maybe), but I think I would have had better service at Speedway! The waitress was hardly ever to be seen. And when she was, she only wanted to do the task she had planned. I am sorry I would like more water, but I am rather thirsty. The food - when it finally came out - was bland or bad. I decided to eat the bland and leave the bad for the trash.

Yelp
Love this restaurant. It has been our go-to for years whenever we visit Brown County. The Turkey Manhattan is divine. Their gravy is the best gravy I've ever had... very quaint atmosphere.. nice to sit inside or out (as long as the horses aren't nearby ; ] ) Good service & reasonable pricing.

Yelp
Very pleasant experience! Hotel: Well maintained and clean. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Themed in old Shaker style, the place looked great. Room: We are very picky when it comes to the cleanliness of our accommodation and this place definitely got an "A" grade. The room had a queen bed, 4 cup coffee maker, rather small TV/VCR/DVD combo (we weren't here to watch TV) couple of chairs and table. Again, tastefully themed in Shaker and well designed. The bed was comfortable. Noise: I can understand how the inn could be a bit noisy. The floors are wood and there isn't much to absorb noise. We were on the end of the third floor on a Sunday night so the inn was not full and we had no one above us. You just have to be prepared for possible noise and not complain about it later. Breakfast: Was a pretty good buffet, nothing grand, just food. We will return!

Yelp
During our stay, my boyfriend and I throughly enjoyed the hospitality this Inn provided. All employees were friendly and helpful- severs were equally wonderful. When we arrived in our room, I noticed our curtains were hanging off of the rod. I called the front desk to ask if they could bring up a screwdriver and we could take care of it. They responded and said they would be right there. The lady who checked us in fixed our curtains with a smile. It was refreshing to see such great hospitality! The food at the restaurant downstairs was overall great. Many varieties to choose from and a decently priced menu.

Yelp
Still great food, still great service. They are so nice and friendly here. The food is simple but done very well. The parts of my grilled cheese sandwich that I was able to eat were delicious. My kiddo got one glimpse of the perfectly buttered grilled bread and melty cheese and promptly stole my sammich!

Yelp
I go here every year have for the last 15 years . Never stayed at The hotel but always eat at the restaurant. I give the food 5 stars plus . I had to give less start because of the lady on the phone when I called to make a reservation. They don't take reservations. I'm ok with that . Normally by 11:30 they are pretty busy but this was precovid . She told me by 11:30 they would be on a waitlist . So I had to change my plans around for this day to be sure I was there shorty after 11am which was a big inconvenience. The food here is good and I enjoy it but there are very many other places to eat . So when we get there there was a total of 5 other couple there at 11:15 am . By noon there was about 7 other couples . Then when we left there back down to about 5 couples . Plenty of seating both inside and out . There were at least 10 other tables open at their busiest period . Please don't have I knowledgeable people answer the phone. I had the Quiche and soup combo . They had a tomato cheddar or barley chicken for Todays soup choice . I had the chicken barley which was delicious and there was a lot of chicken and only a little barley so it will fill you up. The quiche today was a bacon cheddar . I thought about getting another price just to bring home it was so good . My guest got the grilled cheese which had bacon and tomatoes and the broccoli salad which she was surprised it didn't have raisins . She bragged about how good they are . The bill for both our lunches and 2 teas was just over $18 dollars . Very reasonably priced. And very good . You have to try this place .

Yelp
I've visited the Artists Colony a few times...I'm surprised I've not reviewed it yet! Pleasantly located on the main street of Nashville, the Artists Colony has a pleasant, homey feel to it. It's one of those places where I feel like I'm dining in Grandma's dining room. The food is above average. I've never got a bad meal here. That said, I'm not sure I've every got one that pushed it into the 5 star range, That said, it's one of the better choices in Nashville. Service is always good. After a long day of shopping in Nashville, or hiking in the nearby state park folks might want to linger and relax a bit after their meal, and the staff always makes folks feel welcome to do that without making them feel rushed, which is very much appreciated. It's a good choice in Nashville, and has earned my repeat business.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in here on a Sunday about 11:30 AM.I ordered the quiche and soup. That quiche was not freshly baked. The crust was soggy like it had been heated in the microwave. The soup I ordered was good not very hot but it was homemade. My husband ordered the chili. Which also was warm not hot. It was pretty bland. He ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich which was average. All in all not a restaurant we would go back to.

Yelp
Breakfast buffet was horrible, food was cold. Eggs arent real. Pancakes were burnt and bacon was cold. Not choices for coffee creamer. Go to heavenly biscuits! Much much better!

Yelp
We had our Wedding reception at the Artist Colony on Halloween 2009. The setting for the Inn is obviously charming. The Staff is stellar, and went out of their way to be accommodating & helpful. Their banquet room is sequestered in the basement, this might sound less than elegant, but that's not the case. It's out of the main hubbub of the dinning room, so you have a great deal of privacy for your event. The food is good old fashion hearty Midwestern comfort food, with an elegant touch. We had a chicken breast stuffed with brie, apples, & cranberries, everyone loved it. The atmosphere is cozy & charming, perfect for a small intimate wedding reception. Our group numbered right at 30 and the room was just perfect not so large that you felt like you were lost in space, or heard an echo. They say it will hold 80, but I think more than about 50 would be pushing the comfort level. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is they don't serve alcohol, which was fine for us as we don't imbibe, & they did let us bring in sparkling cider for our toast, but this could be a deal breaker for many.
