Artlane

Art Lane is one of those places where you step in for a quick look and end up staying much longer than expected. The space is a traditional shop house transformed into an art gallery and concept store, filled with murals, paintings and creative pieces by local artists. What I loved most is that many of the works are sold to support stray pets, which gives the whole place a warm and meaningful atmosphere. I took a few photos inside and really enjoyed wandering through the rooms. As soon as I stepped out, I even made a new furry friend on the street, the perfect ending to the visit. A small stop, but full of charm and heart.

Art Lane is an amazing creative hub in George Town 🎨 Full of colorful murals, quirky gems like the Massive White Cat Statue 🐱, and even Anna the Spoiled 🐾, the cute dog at the entrance. Special thanks to Liq for being so hospitable — the warm welcome made the visit even more memorable. A must-visit spot in Penang!

I wandered into this store while exploring George town and it was definitely one of my favorite stores there! Great place to find a cute locally made or handmade souvenir. You can find also a lot of artsy stuff, anything from prints to postcards to artzines.

Accidentally came across this store while passing by and I’m so glad I went in. They have a fabulous collection of locally made souvenirs. The staff is really sweet. I was browsing the store for an hour (they have a lot of art and books inside) and did not feel hurried. Was tempted to buy everything. Very unique handmade stuff that will make for lovely gifts as well. Highly recommend this place.

Probably the coolest shop in town with proceeds to help stray animals.

I as a local Penangite simply love this place! I like the Malaysianised playing cards they sell where you play the cards and learn about Malaysia Culture and heritage… they also sell lots of Malaysian made products and souvenirs like tote bags with Malaysia motifs and batik bags and t shirts and etc… my place to bring my overseas friends to get quality souvenirs and keepsake!

A beautifully artistic store composed of local architecture, beautiful murals and plenty of souvenirs, postcards, some poems by indie artists and so much more! The owner of the store is so sweet and is an adopter of stray dogs 🥹. This store is definitely worth to visit whenever you are in Georgetown!
