"Part of a boutique brand of art-centric European properties, Art’otel is one of six chic stays, each of which showcases pieces by different post-1945 artists, from Andy Warhol (in Berlin) to Dutch star Joepvan Lieshout in Amsterdam . At the Budapest incarnation, 579 works by contemporary U.S. painter Donald Sultan are spread across 165 sleek accommodations that overlook the Danube or Buda Castle, as well as in various common areas, from the restaurant to the meeting rooms. There’s also a fitness center and event space for up to 180 guests, but perhaps the biggest selling point is the location. Right in the center of town, the hotel sits about a 10-minute walk south of the city’s iconic Chain Bridge."

Came to Budapest for the first time on vacation with family. For the most part the staff was friendly, kind, informative and welcoming. They made suggestions of where to eat, sites to see and the easiest ways to get around the area. However there was one young lady that was at the reception desk that seem to be bothered or annoyed anytime I went to her with a concern or question. With a little extra training I'm sure that guests would feel more welcomed.

Prior to arriving at the Hotel I messaged to let them know we were celebrating my Husbands 60th Birthday. When we checked in we had been upgraded and were given celebratory fizz and a rather lovely piece of cake each. The suite was in a very private area of the Hotel, it had views up to the Fisherman's Bastion. Even though the Hotel is on a main road, with the double windows it was rather peaceful. The room was excellent, the bed comfortable and all facilities were top notch. The food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service. The Hotel was situated in easy reach of all transport. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. Thank you so much to Park Plaza for a very memorable stay.

Hotel was brilliantly located. The amenities were good and the breakfast was good. The hotel was located by the Danube, opposite was the Parliament building, the castle was behind. The staff was helpful. The room was spacious. The only niggle I would have is the carpet is a bit dated, and the hot water for a shower takes time to warm. Overall really good

Apart from the location there is nothing good about this place. The AC in my room was not working and it was very humid. It couldn't be fixed and they brought a fan for a solution when I gave them enough time like 4 hours to figure it out. I had to go back down to the reception to get them to allocate another room for me and they gave me one just next door while they could have just done the same without ruining their guest score. I feel the front desk/guest service are the face of the hotel and some people just ruin the experience specially when I'm on a holiday trying to relax, this is not what one must deal with.

Had a brilliant stay here, staff were lovely & welcoming. Beds were comfortable! Air conditioning didn’t work so it was very hot in the room but we didn’t report it so they may have been able to fix it if we’d asked (we just forgot). Lovely location on the river looking at the parliament building, I’d recommend!

A slight let down for us. |The pictures on the website show you the front of the hotel which is the new part but there is an old part too. That's where our room was (804). It was huge but the bathroom was small. There are lots of steps up and down after getting out of the lift so rooms here would NOT be suitable for the elderly or disabled.||The making up of the rooms is terrible, very basic. Literally emptying the bins, a quick wipe of the sink, and a straighten of the duvet-i could have done all that myself. Also, the staff servicing the rooms don't have trolleys because of the steps so have to carry all their stock to replenish the rooms in big carrier bags! Not a professional look. One staff member had towels and toilet rolls in an old Louis Vuitton carrier bag which had split down the side. I thought it was rubbish left by a guest until I saw it there the next day and realised what it was being used for!||The bar area is great and serves food. Linda, one member of the bar staff, was lovely-really hard working. All other members of staff were fine but we felt they could have gone above and beyond. None of them made us feel special. They all seemed like they were 'just doing their job'||The hotel is located opposite the Parliament building so the views are great. |It's fairly easy to get over to that side either by walking (15 minutes) or by |metro or tram. But be warned, the ticket machines are a nightmare. You can select 'English' which is great but the ticket options are not easy to understand. You are better off buying a travel card that covers you for the time you are there.||The breakfast is fine but I did have a problem and it wasn't dealt with in a satisfactory way. There are 165 rooms at this hotel and they have ONE four slice toaster. Only one side of the toaster was working so I asked if they had another one but was told no by a rather aggressive lady member of staff. She then proceeded to show me how to use the toaster (as if I didn't know!) in a way that would have been more suitable to a five year old!||We had a problem with the water on the first day, it was not hot enough to wash in so we complained. We were told to run the bath and sink taps together for 10 minutes to see if that helped, but it didn't. We asked if we could switch rooms but we're told no. Then we complained again and after a long wait, the guy on reception came to our room and said he had been to two other rooms but the water was the same temperature. He said we could use them to shower but they couldn't move us so we decided to stay put.||The fridge in our room was not very clean. My husband moved the shelf to try and fit a bottle in and found a huge build up of dust and dirt inside. So they are obviously not cleaning the inside of the fridges regularly.||The best things about this hotel is the bar and the location but I wouldn't stay there again.

Good hotel with friendly staff and a convenient location. The stay was comfortable, but the building is older than it looks in the photos. Breakfast was nice but a bit pricey for what you get. Overall, still a pleasant experience.
