On the Grid : Arts Market

"If you want/like to support local creatives (you should, or else you wouldn’t be on this site) make sure to stop by the Arts Market and buy some of their wares. It's a brilliant concept: leases are kept short and rent is low so that burgeoning artists can take that first step and get some space to showcase their creations. It’s everything you’d expect in that the things you discover are unexpected, one-of-a-kind and rare finds. Scores of “stalls” throughout the long, 2 floor space feature everything from clay pot art, to vintage clothing, prints, painted olive furniture, to jewelry. The basement is dedicated to vintage furniture. 5 minutes of browsing can easily turn into a 1 hour session." - Sid Lee

An assortment of beautiful art, candles, fragrances and vintage anything, it's a beautiful store to find a gift or something for yourself. I found a few things and enjoy them all. I purchased from different artists that display their art. I even found a candle that smells like chocolate 🍫 😋 if you want to find something unique and off the beaten path, you'll find it here. There is two floors worth of stuff that could take you a couple of hours to get through if you want. I don't know if they showcase the same artist all the time, but I sure hope so, I need to restock on my candle. Definitely a place to visit if you're in the junction.

Absolutely love this place. Such a gem in the neighborhood. Kind staff and very neat finds. I stop in at least twice a month to find gifts for friends and new statement pieces for myself.

This market is so close to home and is the perfect place to purchase handmade gifts and support small businesses as well as local artists. As a local artist myself, I really appreciate the miscellaneous assortment of prints, sculpture, ceramics, trinkets, fragrance, clothing, and second-hand items. When I need to unwind I love to walk around this store with my loved ones. Also if you are a sticker lover- you must check out this place.

I went there only once and I really enjoyed the different pieces of art and antiques. Some are very functional, others are just art for the sake of it. Prices for many objects seemed reasonable. I appreciate the fact that nobody is trying to sell you something, just like in a gallery. I don't know if objects change regularly, but I'd definitely go back to check and maybe buy some of these retro-style photos of Toronto most famous convenience stores.

The Arts Market is my go-to for gifts! Because they feature a diversity of artists and creations, you are almost guaranteed to find something that will resonate with a giftee. Offerings range from cards to temporary tattoos to candles to knitwear, if you're looking for a little something, something to gift someone, you'll probably find something here. And who doesn't love local artists?

My boyfriend had mentioned this place to me a couple times when we've walked past and I had been meaning to check it out. Adorable handmade stuff inside but then I noticed there is a downstairs area and I was so excited when I went down. So many cute vintage items from a bunch of different vendors and the prices were so reasonable. We spent over an hour browsing and I left with some awesome vintage band tees. Can't wait to go back! Highly recommend.

One of my favourite places to find unique gifts for friends and family! If you're looking to support local artists and small businesses, Arts Market is one of the best places to go shopping. I've consistently found unique jewelry and art here and I always feel good about shopping here because I know my purchases are going towards the local community. The staff have always been warm and friendly. I love that this space gives local businesses a physical space to sell their wares. Be sure to also check out their Leslieville location too!
