On the Grid : The Artist's Studio at MoDiv

"When you enter the shops at MoDiv, you may be lucky enough to run into the artists in residence there. If you're not into their paintings, you may be interested in their knowledge of the downtown area." - Fairly Painless

Google
I love visiting the Arts Marketplace because it's a beautiful space full of locally made goods such as candles, earrings, cards, books, art, clothes and even has a flower shop! it's perfect for gift shopping whether it's Mother's Day, a birthday, or the holidays, you can always find something for someone on your list. The team is very friendly and kind. The mission of the Arts Marketplace has a special place in my heart by creating economic opportunities for local makers with affordable retail space to businesses in West Michigan and a presence in downtown Grand Rapids.

AMP represents the best of GR! The retail space is full of incredible gifts and treasures: ceramics, jewelry, candles, clothing, books, wall art, and more. Every product is created or curated by local artists and makers, so the money you spend at AMP stays right here in our community. Plus, as a nonprofit, AMP runs entirely on the generosity of donors who believe in its mission to help budding (and often underrpresented) entrepreneurs gain their footing. It's my go-to place to shop. Great people, great purpose, and great for Grand Rapids!

Hands down my favorite shop in Grand Rapids. With over 50 local entrepreneurs, artists and crafts(wo)man in the space, you can find a gift for anyone and know you're directly supporting local start ups. Housewares, home decor, jewelry, spa products, clothing, art (including fine art), books, journals, a variety of cards, pet and children gifts. I try to do all of my gift and holiday shopping at AMP. Also, if you get a drink or bite at One Twenty Three before or after (also in Studio Park) you can get free parking validation at the attached Studio Park(ing) lot.

I love stopping into the Arts Marketplace whenever I’m downtown. It’s such a fun mix of local artists and makers, and I always find something unique. The staff are friendly and the space has a great energy. It feels good knowing that shopping here supports local!

Love this place! I love the variety of the vendors and what they sell. I’ve gone to a couple events hosted here as well and really enjoyed them (bring back the book swap!)

Fun retail location with works and crafts from local artists. Some clothing is available too. Lots of ceramic pieces. If you were looking for some small gifts or do-dads, there's a lot to choose from. Recommended

Yelp
This is such a cool concept and store. The Arts Marketplace is a nonprofit that exists to support and further woman and minority owned businesses by providing them subsidized rent to have their goods displayed at the Arts Marketplace store. This is a one stop shop for anyone you could probably think of! I saw tons of fun gifts and products, including clothes, jewelry, accessories, home goods, coffee, Polish pottery, books, tea, cards, art, etc. I love that it gives the opportunity for these small businesses to have a space to sell things even if they don't have their own storefront. I'm not sure how often the vendors rotate, but it's always fun to stop in and check things out. I especially love the Public Thread bags and accessories, the Polish pottery, and all the interesting art. There are signs everywhere letting you know that if you break something, you buy it, so be careful. I have purchased gifts here for myself and others and hope it sticks around for a long time!

Yelp
this is one of the shops that you can revisit and wander around just for fun to look at all the local companies. it was great to learn that it is a non profit too and supports these local artists. I've been back multiple times now. My most recent purchase was an art print from Rachel Hull Art, some super cute earrings, & a book. I was really surprised by the reasonable prices for local gifts.

Yelp
What a beautiful and unique place to shop for gifts (and for myself!) The diversity of artists and vendors represented, the wide variety of unique items, I come back again and again. I covered 70% of my holiday shopping in one place and it's all local, such a feel good shopping experience at AMP!

Yelp
This is such a wonderful marketplace. Not just for their mission in uplifting these small business owners, the products are amazing and the experience is great! I love coming here to shop for gifts for family, co workers, friends, etc. thank you for existing!!!

Yelp
Arts Marketplace is incredible! They have a little bit of everything: clothing, candles, pottery, jewelry, wall art, books, household decor, etc. And the best part? It's all crafted and curated by local artists and makers. If you love supporting nonprofits and/or making space for our community's creatives, go check them out!

Yelp
Great shop to support local quality work. Good diversity of product. Appreciate the attention and care for individual artists' support and development.

Yelp
I really love the vibes of the store! Seeing all the great local makers and beautiful merchandise. You find treasures here, for you, for your home, for a friend or loved one. I could spend hours here reading their stories of each vendor and lounging with a book on their couches while sipping coffee or eating ice cream from next door businesses. The sales associates are super helpful and friendly. Many say that the gifts are on the pricy range, but remember vendors get 97% of their sales while having a presence in downtown Grand Rapids.

Meg D.

Yelp
Great inventory of unique and special items for me and for gifting. Wide range of pricing for any budget. I always find something to purchase when I walk into AMP!!

Jamie D.

Yelp
There is no better gift shop in Grand Rapids! Everything is either hand made or sourced from a local community business or artist. The store showcases clothing, home decor, candles, jewelry, art, books, games, journals, fresh florals and more. I get almost all my gifts and cards here. The Arts Marketplace is a non-profit that offers store space at a subsidized rate and staffing so the makers / businesses can earn money and grow their business. Most of the businesses selling within the store are owned by woman or ethic/racial minorities. Overall, this is such a vibrant and fun place to shop and feel really good about doing it.
