Art's Place

Art's might be a pool hall/dive bar, but it has the best cheeseburger in Fayetteville HANDS DOWN. On Fridays, Art's has its cheeseburger basket "special." I guess that means the price for a burger, fries, and a Coke is lower than it is the rest of the week. I have never considered the price of the meal when I order it; the burger is much better than any fast-food burger I have eaten, and it beats out any other burger (homemade or restaurant) I have ever eaten. Yes, that includes Brenda's AND Mr. Burger (I am directing this statement to the Fayetteville natives who know these places that closed years ago), and sorry, Wes' BBQ, Art's burger is also better than yours. I don't drink alcohol, and I can't shoot pool to save my life, but the laid-back atmosphere of Art's Place makes for a fun evening regardless of whether you eat there, have a beer, or just meet friends for a couple hours. There is a jukebox with a variety of music to suit anyone's taste unless someone is just dying to hear Madame Butterfly, and the place is just big enough that if you don't run into someone you know, you might make a new friend if you aren't too shy to approach someone who looks interesting. For me, one of Art's Place's biggest plusses is its location. It is on the North side, away from Dickson, the U of A, and less than a mile from my house. I am too old to be a bar fly, but if I become a "regular" anywhere, Art's will be my place. I rate Art's Place a 10 out of 10 stars for the friendly atmosphere, excellent food, ease of access from my home, and (as a 56-year-old, single woman and proud Fayetteville native) a place I am as comfortable visiting alone as I am with friends. I encourage folks to support one of Fayetteville's well-established, LOCALLY-owned businesses and check out Art's Place. Infiltrators can stay on Dickson, but if you are a local, you should already know where Art's is. If you haven't been there yet, I look forward to seeing you there soon!

I have been going to this place for over 20 years and I have to say this place has tanked in the last few years. The food that was once that greasy, satisfying, goodness is now premade crap. The service that was once friendly and welcoming is now rude. Our "waitress" waited on us while we ordered food and a drink, after that she never came back, we would watch her scan the room to check on everyone but never returned. We stayed most of a day and evening, playing pool and having drinks so we weren't just wasting anyone's time. They now only have two extremely sad and dirty pool tables. We had to walk up to the bar every single time to refill on beer, greeted rudely by the same lady that had been refilling us the entire time, being ignored until there was literally no one else up there and she had to ask what we wanted, the reply being the same every time. There is a certain kind of respect and decency that always used to come with this place, it no longer exists and I will never return after being treated so horribly, not to mention it was extremely expensive..and silent unless you want to PAY for music on the jukebox. At the shift change the new staff were more friendly but it only takes that one bad seed to ruin everything.

Will start this with if you do not like a smoking bar you will hate this place. That aside, I came in the bar today with no real expectations and after the 5 pm shift change am pleasantly surprised. Service pre 5 was more a a training atmosphere but after 5 on a Monday the guys that came in were true bartenders and service was the priority. Food wise ordered a cheese burger and as advertised it always hot and juicy and far exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a dive/locals bar with really good food this is the place when in Fayetteville.

Had a good time at first, good company and they had the Razorbacks first basketball game. I bought a pool table and before I played my first game, someone came up and asked to play 1v1, then a 2v2. Sure why not, I dont want to hog the table. We played a couple games, the the skinny male bartender came over, idk if he was still working because he kept serving me drinks. I was waiting for the next game, but went to the bathroom and when I came back they had started without me. When I protested that it was my table, that I payed for, the bartender told me I was out of luck and offered to give me 2 dollars (I already tipped him $10). Also, the pool tables are $6 an hour. I was upset, but instead of causing a scene, I left. As I was trying to leave the boy bartender followed me to the bar and kept asking me what was wrong. I was at a loss for words, I think he had been drinking. The woman bartender ABBY was very professional and courteous. She took care of me and everyone else without delay. The boy bartender even followed me outside to my truck. Only after I gave him a don't fw me look did he stop. I am sorry for Abby and the owners, it was almost a good experience, but I wont be back. I tipped a total of $14 for a burger, fries, and my drinks. Lesson: Just because you pay for something doesn't make it yours?

Use to be a great little dive - hole in the wall bar where you could get reasonable prices, descent service, and a place you can still smoke. Now, no two servers/bartenders can make the same drink, let along charge you the same price for it, every time it's different, even though you ask for the same thing. The no work ethic, millennials or maybe Gen Z, their both equally useless so it's hard to tell, staff that work there apparently can't count because they constantly over charge you, they'll say you had more drinks then you did and then have the nerve to ask you if you'd like to give a 20%, 25%, or 30% tip?!?!? How about zero sweety, I need to see what the flip your charging me for because I know it's wrong, it's wrong 90% of the times I've been there. Get your stuff together, learn some consistency, and bring back paper receipts so you can't over-charge your customers anymore. Ruined a perfectly good day out when I decided to go to Art's on a asaturday afternoon.

Pains me to say it because I used to really like this place but the last 4 or 5 times I’ve been in it’s been terrible. Slow/no service. Dirty. Completely unorganized. Best advise I can give is show up late night already hammered so you don’t notice how awful it actually is. Cold “French toast” I waited so long for that I took it Togo for reference 🤮

Great Burgers! Cold beer! Great people! What's not to like? It's a pool bar. They DO allow smoking but they have good smoke eaters that help a LOT. Smoke generally messes with me but it doesn't bother me here. They run specials a LOT. Fridays you can get a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a beer or soda for $8. One of the best deals in NWA. The burger is really top notch too.

Locally bar who includes chill young people up to old timers. Great locals vibe. I am an old timer and my go to when I want to go out for a drink. And the burgers are the BEST!

Never had a bad burger here and hard to beat on some days. Reliable. Super chill dive bar full of friendly people and laid back bartenders.

David was an awesome fry cook, bartender, and flat top chef. I enjoyed watching him cook for me and others. The big burger with cheese was excellent.

Since my last review I've moved back to town and can't remember why it wasn't 5 to begin with. If there was a "best dive bar in America" contest, I'd enter Art's in it right away.

The food is very good, me and my fiancé enjoy it every time. The service could definitely improve, just feels like when we show up and the fact we aren't regulars yet it doesn't feel all too welcoming having to ask where to sit and then waiting a while for service to arrive. But! once it arrives the atmosphere improves little by little. it's very dark and can be intense for a new costumer. It's definitely a real bar experience and honestly just a fun place in my opinion. over all, great place, cool darker atmosphere is a good way, food is great and affordable, and only thing that needs improvement is service but again it's not close to bad.

If you're looking for that cheers kinda place, this is it!! As a chef I was pleasantly surprised just how good the food is!! Everyone was welcoming, smiling etc.. and of course the drinks are cold and super reasonable in price. My new favorite!!

Love this local spot! You'd be hard pressed to find another burger as good as this in Fayetteville. Art's Hog Burger is a must. Tots, fries, and fried pickles all live up to the hype. Would have given five stars, but this is a smoke friendly environment. Fun environment with pool tables and a jukebox.

I'm shocked that this Fayetteville staple doesnt have more reviews. Arts place is legendary. Atmosphere: F-U/5 It's a smoky bar with pool tables, and peanuts on the floor...they dont care...neither should you. Drinks: 4/5 bar staff knows how to make a decent drink...pretty standard. Food: eleventy-billion/5 I am of course over exaggerating but I'll be honest with you, I've been coming to arts for over 20 years...I suck at pool, and hate smoky buildings. The Art's Hog Burger is simply the best classic style flat top burger you'll ever find anywhere. I've had as many as I can find from as many places as I've traveled...they just dont get any better than that burger. Next time you wanna go drop 20 bucks for something like smashburger or something, go get a hog burger, and fries for 6 bucks, and thank me later.

Thank you Art's Place for one of the best cheeseburgers I have ever had. If you are hungry look no further. I was served a double cheeseburger definitely big enough to share with another person. The meat was juicy, tasty and the cheese was melting from both patties. The fresh veggies that come with are cool and crisp. It is also served with fries, but who was I kidding it was all about the star of the show cheeseburger. I will definitely be back and recommend to all of my California friends if you are ever traveling through or to Fayetteville, Arkansas.

If I could give a 4.5 this would be it. This place surpassed my expectations. A few pool tables and plenty of tables and booths. I'd call it a nice dive bar, and I don't mean that in a negative way. We will be back.

It's been awhile since I have been in a bar that allows smoking so it was somewhat of a surprise entering Art's when the smoke hit me. However it's been a long time since I've had an Art's Hog burger, but I am glad I went back! The burger itself was bigger than I remember and the fries were better than I remember. If you crave a old fashioned burger cooked on a flat top grill and don't mind a little grease you can't go wrong with Art's. It's called a "hog burger " because Canadian bacon is ground with the beef.

Great place of you hate good service and you just want to sit and and look at beer that no one will serve you. The other bar guests are real treats too. There was at least 2 Karen's there ready to yell at anyone for no reason. I highly recommend this place if you want to unseat you current shittiest bar experience winner.

This is a great bar I decided to try out while in the area, based on Yelp reviews. There are great domestic draft and pitcher specials... $1.25 and $6 during their "lunch" hours, which run until about 6. We got a pitcher of beer and then mowed down on some of the free peanuts. This is the kind of place you can throw your shells on the floor. This is a smoking bar, and it is quite smoky inside. It isn't the cleanest of places, but I really liked the chill atmosphere. They also serve food, but we didn't have any.

Great dive with great food. Good place to go when getting off Dickson Street to enjoy a low key atmosphere. There are some good pool tables and there is always someone around to shoot with. The service is good with a very down to earth type energy. The burgers are excellent and the fries are always fresh. The drinks are affordable and there is a digital jukebox if you like to pick your own music. This is a smoking venue so that can be a downer for any non smoker. Could use cosmetic upgrade but then again it is a dive. Parking is available in the front and behind the structure.

I've had many burgers over my lifetime BUT not one of them compares to the Art's Hog cheeseburger! We drive from Dallas to Fayetteville just for those decadent sandwiches! OMG!!

The bacon cheeseburger is the bomb, I tried the grilled chicken on Texas toast hot & juicy fresh lettuce, tomato, pickles. Hot fries. Plenty of cold Shiner Bock with free peanuts to eat and throw the shells on the floor. This place is a real dive / biker bar sometimes , very smoky but the food is worth the stop , Service was good, park in the rear and nobody will find you. PS if you don't smoke take an extra shirt if you are going out on the town after you leave you will want a change.

The best dive bar in town with the best burger to go with it. Shoot pool if you want, oh and the they make a pretty good drink too.

Best burger on college here in Fayetteville bar none! It's a smoking bar pool tables and all! Although I don't smoke I still stop in after work got this awesome burger. Let me throw out a shout out to the staff as well-- they know how to put the serve in service!

This place is delicious! The burgers are amazing. I had the cheeseburger and it was very flavorful. My husband had the hog burger (bacon cooked in the hamburger meat) and he said it was in the top 5 of burgers he's ever had. It is a true dive bar with people smoking, jukebox blaring, cold pitchers of beer and greasy delicious burgers.

Me and my co-worker were going to lunch and we chose Arts Place. We had both heard it had the best burgers. And behold it does!! I had the Arts Hog with double pepperjack and fries. Finally i found a reasonably real burger. It was the bomb! Mo had the chili burger and it was awesome as well. I highly reccomend coming and trying the food. Friendly service as well. Do remember this is a bar and no one under 21 is allowed :) be safe ppl

It's the epitome of a dive bar. It's smoky, great bartenders, 4 pool tables, with a juke box playing whatever the guests desire. That said, this place serves one of the best burgers I've ever eaten! The Hogburger is a combination of ground beef, ground bacon, and onions and it's phenomenal! I don't live in northwest Arkansas but I make a point to come have a burger whenever I'm in town!

Absolutely the best burger and whisky coke in town. We go a couple times a month and are always happy with the food, drinks, and service.

Service was kind of slow and a few things were missing from our order, but server got it squared away. Fair prices and some of the best burgers around. Maybe even the best burger I've ever had. Wish there was a separate dining area for non smokers because the smoke was awful heavy- but I knew it would be going in. Really cool place with a fun vibe, and delicious food.

I went into this place because I heard they had the best burger in town. I needed to place an order to go but didn't see a designated place to order. I had to find an open spot at the bar before anyone even acknowledged my presence. I was asked if I wanted to place a to go order to which I replied "yes." I was then told in an unwelcoming manner that "I was going to have to wait." I don't mind waiting, but I don't "HAVE" to do anything! It felt as tho my presence there was a severe inconvenience to them and wasn't wanted. Judging from the fact that no one stopped me as I was walking for the exit, my assumption was correct. I can't comment on the quality of food as I didn't have any.

Think i cant give this place a favorite rating, am slowing down going therr, certain rude bartenders, , people charging to your tab witjout permisson, there are bettetr places to go. Changing and down grading the place , bartenders hit on your dates, , rude

Its like a cheers.. if u go a lot.. no one knows my name but, the other day.. waitress remembered me.. knew what I drank and ate! Talk about great service! I recommend arts hog burger with pepper jack cheese and fries.. $7! Great food! Great prices! Even has pool tables, free peanuts, and a jukebox! Not a family establishment, must be 21.. and u can smoke. Being a non-smoker, it's Smokey, but the food is so worth it! You can always order to go!

As a non-smoker, I don't like smoking establishments. That being said, I deal with it to eat the Art's Place bacon cheese burger! It's my favorite in Fayetteville!

Just walked into this place for the first time....what a dump! The health department ought to shut this pig sty down! Spilled drinks all over the bar....ashtrays tipped over with butts on the bar! Nuf said. This is a real s"""t hole!

Great Cheeseburger! But the place is filthy! If you can eat your burger and not worry about the filth then you will be ok. Beware this is an old time smoke filled bar so don't stop if are offended by second hand smoke.

I used to frequent Art's, but I can't remember the last time I got a pitcher that wasn't old. In addition, it's a smokey, stale atmosphere that's run out of service.
