Not sure what happened to Arturo’s. We came back after a while and the only good thing about this place was the complimentary salami, provolone and bread. Their short rib was salty, the risotto that came with it was very hard - it was practically not cooked at all! We told the waitress & she recommended a different dish which was better. Then we asked for coke, it was flat. There’s two receptionists just staring at everyone (I called one of them to let her know the coke was flat) bc we were waiting too long and she doesn’t say anything but points to our waitress who takes the coke and doesn’t come back with it. Overall, such a terrible experience. And no they were not busy.

Update. Weekend may present a problem, or under staffed. Dinner was disappointing from lack of proper service. So instead of enjoying ourselves, we spent our time trying to get another drink. Basically we were left to fend for ourselves and instead of staying for coffee and desert we paid the check and left. WOW! For my wife to rave at the authenticity and taste of the Cacio e pepe is a very high compliment. The Steak Pizzaiola was also very nice cut, properly prepared medium rare. Honestly, I like the way Espo's in Raritan, NJ prepares it with mozzarella cheese, the steak itself not as tender as Arturo's. The Staff was attentive and professional and service was perfectly timed. We will most certainly make this our new dining home.

Serves fantastic food but also provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, making sure every aspect of the meal was perfect. A true gem for anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine. From the insane delicious Arancini balls to the exquisite Chicken Marsala, every dish is crafted with care and passion. Paired with a fine glass of Pinot Noir, it's an experience you won't want to miss.

43 Years of Extraordinary Food, Service and Atmosphere. My wife took me to Arturo’s on Friday night June 27, 2025, for my 75th birthday, which is actually Monday, June 30th. We were greeted by a smiling and energetic young lady who showed us to our table. Next we were served potato croquettes, cheese and the most phenomenal Sopressata I’ve ever eaten with great basket of bread. YUM and YUMMER!!! Our server Isabella greeted us and took our drink orders. My wife had a Negroni (her favorite cocktail) and I had a Markers Mark on the rocks. When she returned with our drink she told us about their specials for the night asked if we had any questions about the menu then gave us some time before returning to take our order. I ordered 2 appetizers, stuffed zucchini flowers, stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella and prosciutto and escargot. Both apps were incredible. My wife ordered Capellini with Crab Meat, made in a light tomato sauce with garlic, arugula and sun dried tomatoes. There was an amazing amount of jumbo lump crabmeat, so sweet and delicious. I totally enjoyed Braised Short Rib with Risotto. Its braised for 48 hours and served over Arborio Risotto with tomato and toasted pine nuts. The short rib was sooooo tender if I did not have any teeth I could have eaten it. Just marvelous and astonishing. I enjoyed a glass of Chianti with my meal. Molto bene!!! We ended of our dinner with two regular coffees and shared a slice of house made cheesecake with caramel sauce. A Phenomenal Ending to a Great Dinner with Extraordinary Food and Service. Thanks to ownership for creating notable memories with great people, great service, great food resulting in great experiences. I want to recognize our server Isabella. She is a benchmark in my opinion for servers to strive to be. Truly an asset to Arturo’s. If you’ve never been to Arturo’s give it a try. I know you agree with me it is a fantastic restaurant.

A Memorable Night at Arturo’s. More Than Just Dinner. Nestled in Midland Park, Arturo’s offers more than a meal. it’s an experience that lingers with you. From the moment we stepped in, we felt the comforting embrace of true Italian hospitality. The highlight of the evening was the homemade pasta special with NJ tomatoes and lumps of crabmeat. Each bite was a masterclass in flavor, fresh, tender, and seasoned to perfection. It was a standout dish that set the tone for the entire meal. We ended on a sweet note with their tiramisu, a cloud-like delight that was both delicate and indulgent. Even my five-year-old couldn’t get enough of his spaghetti and meatballs. It was heartwarming to see him savor every bite with such joy. Adding magic to the evening was the live pianist playing just steps away. The soft notes created a charming, almost cinematic backdrop to our dinner. It made the night feel extra special. Like we were part of something uniquely intimate. As for service, Greg, our attentive and gracious waiter, managed our party of nine with calm confidence and sincere care. He was incredibly accommodating, making each of us feel like honored guests. If you're seeking a place that blends exquisite food with soul-soothing ambiance, Arturo’s is a must-visit. We left full, happy, and already dreaming about our next meal there.

A hidden gem! I've lived about 7 minutes from this restaurant for a long time and I'm so mad we just discovered it now. It truly is an awesome, authentic Italian restaurant. We arrived really early for our reservation and sat at the bar, greeted by Jen and Luis with great drinks and great conversation. We then sat at our table and met our waiter, Mike, who was attentive, great personality and gave recommendations since it was our first time. From appetizers, to entrees, to dessert with cappuccino- everything was absolutely divine, fresh, amazing food! We ordered spiedino alla Romano, Shrimp Gratin, Chicken abruzzese, chicken milanese, house salads, flourless fudge brownie, cheesecake, cappuccino and espresso. The portions are huge and we took a lot of leftovers home! We can't wait for our next date night 😁

Google
Great Italian restaurant! You get a half a loaf of fresh bread to start with 2 rice balls and some antipasto. The service was great, thanks Robert! I felt like I was a special guest at Arturo's home! The barrata with figs, amazing! Smoked trout, delicious! Veal chop arrabiata, cooked perfectly and so tender! Lamb chops, tender and juicy!

You can never understand how consistently good this restaurant is and has been for decades unless you go there. Just go! Get in your beautiful car and take a ride down to Midland Park, a very sweet, quiet little village. I wish I could go there tonight but I’m in Alabama 20 miles from the nearest restaurant taking care of my farm and goats, 2 of which have been named after the owners Arturo and Nicolina. True! Arturos never skimps on food quality, service or entertainment! Every dish is simple and authentically delicious! The way it’s done in Italy! If the piano player is off, you will have Harry or Miguel at the bar of bars or the many wonderful regulars who frequent the place to exchange niceties! Enjoy the warm welcome they offer, elegance and culture they have created as well as exquisite decor, world class dishes and finest ingredients they serve. The staff is attentive, upbeat and friendly. This family restaurant is my favorite restaurant in the world because they know what they are doing, their standards are extremely high and they make my family feel apart of their family every single time without fail. The best of the best!

Yelp
A new favorite!! We live minutes away and drive past this spot all the time. We love it! The hospitality is so wonderful and everything on the menu is delicious!! Such a nice traditional ambiance that's perfect tor lunch or dinner. Just an overall lovely experience and a new favorite place for us!

Joseph C.

Yelp
The food was excellent as always but the service was a little disappointing for the price. Had to ask for ice a few times, water glasses were not filled regularly. They didn't ask if you wanted any cheese on the pasta and didn't ask how everything came out after we took a few bites of our food.

Yelp
My absolute favorite and go to Italian spot in Bergen county! I highly recommend if you are in the area, you will never be disappointed. Dinner is great with fresh bread and butter, and rice balls for the table. Service is outstanding here and if there is any question it will be answered above and beyond. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and very well decorated. Should you choose to sit at the bar you will also be very pleased. The cannoli pie is a MUST HAVE for dessert. It is homemade by the owner and the most delicious dessert I have had at an Italian restaurant. The stuffed shrimp was amazing and a perfect portion, extremely well flavored and cooked to perfection. The lamb special was phenomenal. Desserts are always a must here. Our server, Michael went above and beyond with his service and recommendations. I will definitely be back and cannot wait for the next time I can dine here!

Yelp
What a wonderful experience The FOOD the Service the Atmosphere! I can't believe I didn't know about this places , I guess I will have to go often for my missed years. Everything was quality ingredients and prepared perfectly. I review lots of places and Arturo's is going to my 10 ten in the world.

Yelp
This has become our go to Sunday night take out spot. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The veal vodka parm is our go to, it's HUGE!!! (And delicious). Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in the area.

Yelp
Our party of four enjoyed a delightful Saturday night dining celebration at Arturo's. The hospitality and food is always first rate, the tables are well spaced and comfortable, and the overall experience is exemplary.

Yelp
This place is my go to for fine Italian food. My family can't get enough of this place. There is a reason why Arturo's has been open for over 40+ years. Top Tier Italian!!!

Yelp
Been going to Arturo's over 20 years. Family run!! Mario and Deb are amazing. Never a bad meal. Menu is huge and everything is delicious.

Yelp
Just had early dinner at this place for the first time. Very impressed by the great menu. They ran out of the dish I wanted but the other option was delicious !! Emily our waitress was super nice !! . My friend and I will definitely come back !!

Bill H.

Yelp
Exceptional on all counts. Service was cordial and competent. Food was very good. Ambiance was comfortable. Particularly appreciated the small plates brought to the table upon arrival. It's a little thing that makes a big difference.

Yelp
Go there once or twice a month, normally sit at a high top in the bar area. My wife and I get an appraiser and split an entire which is enough The food is always good and the service is excellent. A great place we are lucky to have close to home.

Yelp
This is an amazing restaurant! We had dinner there last night to celebrate our engagement. As usual the both the food and the service were outstanding!. What really impressed me was how thick the crust is on the homemade cheesecake! It looked like it was about a half inch thick! When you think about it, what other restaurant makes their own delicious cheesecake? None that I am aware of! I truly believe that this is the best restaurant in the Wyckoff/Midland Park/ Franklin Lakes area. There is no other restaurant that excels in all areas! We will be back again soon

John P.

Yelp
This used to be a delicious restaurant but the food is now just mediocre. There were four of us and none of the dishes were impressive, The quality of the proteins seemed good but the flavors were bland and unimpressive. Even the salad had too much vinegar too be enjoyed. While nothing was bad, it was below average flavors at above average prices. The best dish was the veal chop parmigiana but their sauce was bland. I have no complaints on the service. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would say that the service was above average. The dining room has an ok ambiance. It's a bit dated, crowded and noisy. But all that could be forgiven if the food was better. I've gone with people who have trouble hearing and the background noise made conversation with them difficult. I've given this restaurant a few tries and I won't be going back.

Yelp
Celebrated one of our good friend's birthday at Arturo's Saturday night. He the oldest of our bunch and leads us off to another year older! Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and knew the menu and specials quite well. We all started with good cocktails - Moscow Mules, Godfathers and other concoctions - all very good. Even their Cabernet by-the-glass was very good! For appetizers we ordered the calamari (very tender), mussels in white wine sauce (very good), and the burrata mozzarella with figs and balsamic glaze (excellent!). For entrees, we enjoyed Chicken Scarapiello (good), special homemade pasta with lump crab (not great - sauce needed more flavor)and their special double cut Veal rib chop simply grilled with shitake mushrooms and cherry peppers (outstanding!). For dessert we had our own birthday cake from nearby Market Basket (wow!) but also ordered a round or two of gelato with some Espresso, Sambuca and Marie Brizzard cordials to finish off a great meal. Highly recommend Arturo's for a great night out with family and friends!

Yelp
Top notch joint. Great experience at the bar. Piano is a great touch. Extensive menu

Susan S.

Yelp
Came with two physically challenged elders for early dinner at 5:30. We were welcomed to the Porch. Wonderful unrushed meal with great service. Fab lamb, oysters, beet salad. Veal specialty dish. And the gelato...to die for. Best on this side of the Atlantic. I love to come to Arturo's! Enjoy!

Yelp
Went here for my Birthday dinner tonight . Loved the vibe the moment I walked in, table was ready and server was quickly at the table to take our drink order. Bread, rice balls and cheese brought to the table, which is really a nice touch . The rice balls were really good . The menu was huge and takes time to get through. Usually a red flag for dinner type food but not here. Our party of six ordered from many different areas of the menu and everything was good. Our group ordered multiple seafood dishes, all tasted fresh. Apps were good , shrimp gratin and stuffed artichoke were a hit with the table. My entree was a pounded thin veal chop topped with vodka sauce and mozzarella, really good. The veal quality was top notch and you can cut it with a fork . Great food and service. Here's the only rub, as I mentioned it was my birthday dinner so we brought a small birthday cake. We ordered cappuccinos for the table to go with the cake . The bill was presented around $400 and to be clear the price very reasonable for what you receive. We gave the credit card to the waitress and she came back saying the manager sent her back and wanted us to pay a $20 plating fee for the 6 pieces of cake . Not sure if it's because I'm old and grumpy but this annoyed me. I hate when I feel someone is trying to squeeze every dime out of me. It took the bloom off the rose as they say and good feelings away after having a stellar dinner for a bit. I know it's only 20 bucks but I don't like it after dropping $400 on a dinner . I didn't take any stars away because I appreciate who ever the owner is dedication to providing a quality dinning experience . Our waitress was a gem too , she got the $80 tip she rightly deserved . So besides for the plate charge very enjoyable experience, so much to love here

Yelp
Nice Resturant great food, off the beaten path some but worth the trip. Great appetizers through main course and deserts.

Yelp
Words cannot describe how incredible this place is. The food, the atmosphere, Nonna greeting you at the door. It is everything you need in an authentic family owned Italian restaurant. First I'll start with the atmosphere. Like I said you have Nonna greeting you at the door making everyone laugh really giving you that small town family vibe that you want in an Italian restaurant. The murals on the wall are incredible and the U shaped bar is so nice and cozy. Now, the food. Just wow. If you don't get the Shrimp Gratin appetizer you are making the biggest mistake of your life. Just so flavorful and delicate I could have ordered five more. Second you neeeeed to try the rice balls. Best I've ever had hands down. Please do not get intimidated by the menu. The chicken scarpariello, shrimp arrabiatta, shrimp fra diavolo, and the list goes on! Everything is made to perfection. I was with a big group so we all got to try each other's dishes and I can safely say that each one was made with the love, care, and authentic Italian recipes you would hope for. If you are looking for authentic Italian in the heart of New Jersey this is the place to go. Hands down. I cannot wait to go back and explore more of the menu.

Mili L.

Yelp
I honestly don't know how anyone can say anything good about this place. To start the decor is outdated and dingy. The food was dreadful...I'm not exaggerating when I say inedible. I ordered scallops that were served in what tasted like dishwater. They weren't served as described in the menu and the alcohol wasn't cooked out of the wine sauce. The only thing that was good was the salad and bread. The service was also dreadful...we waited exactly 2 hours from the time we were seated until the time our entree was served, we were about to walk out when our food arrived. The entire experience was cringe worthy and to say it was unpleasant is an understatement. This was one of the worst experiences that I've ever had in a restaurant. There are so many good restaurants in the area, this is definitely not one of them. .

Evelyn E.

Yelp
Arturo's is one of our favorite local restaurants. The food is delicious and the ambience and staff are very warm and friendly. Highly recommend this fine establishment.

Yelp
I was disappointed tonight for Father's Day. Six of us came for dinner. We all ordered our dinner and I ordered the shrimp francese over black squid ink pasta. My meal came and it had plain spaghetti. I sent it back to put the black squid ink pasta on it Meanwhile, everyone had their dinners and were eating. The waiter came out and told me that they accidentally dropped my meal on the floor and it would take a little bit longer to come out. Eventually my meal came with the squid ink pasta. But there was virtually no taste to the pasta. No francese sauce on either the pasta or shrimp. No lemon, garlic or butter. The pasta was just wet from the water. The rest of my party had already finished their dinners so I sent it back and I ate nothing. The waiter, Anthony, asked me if there's anything else I wanted to eat and I just said no. At that point, it wasn't worth it because I'd be eating alone. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Amazing great ambiance great food great feeling being there. Worth every penny! The sausage and broccoli dish is awesome

Yelp
Family owned. The Tiramisu Martini brings me back just as much as the pasta. Incredible.

Yelp
I love Arturo's! Not only are the food and drinks great, but the live piano music adds such a wonderful ambiance to the dining experience. Harry and Miguel are the most awesome bar tenders too! Looking forward to dining there this coming weekend!

Mike S.

Yelp
The best Italian restaurant in North Jersey!!! We are the customers for years. Enjoining every time and looking forward for more!

Yelp
One of the finest dinners of blackened Chilean sea bass that I've ever had. Very professional waitstaff and logical portions. One of the places that I would come again and again.

Mike P.

Yelp
Food and service is outstanding. I will be returning again and again. Music is a nice addition to the overall experience

Michael L.

Yelp
Very good Italian food; superior to most local Italian restaurants. The decor is dated but the vibe will bring you back to your childhood. Love the piano player; service is excellent and the restaurant appears exceedingly well cared for.

Yelp
Great food..veal parm & eggplant parm were great dishes...rice balls are so delicious.

Jill P.

Yelp
Go to place for years. Has always been consistently delicious. Best eggplant rollatine ever, delicious penne vodka, penne arrabiata, gnocchi gratin, delicious fish selections, lovely tiramisu cake, house-made gelato, and cheesecake. And many more specials... too many to list. Can't go wrong with arturos dine in or takeout !
google avatar

Margaret B.

Yelp
Food and service was very good. The waitress was the sweetest. However one of the service staff was miserable. Aggressively poured water, splashing and wetting the table. She gave us the stare down so she could clean our plates. Next the crowd was not for us. We sat around tables that threw the F bomb constantly. They were very loud and obnoxious. I understand these may be "regulars" but I consider this place to be upscale but the crowd is more of a dive bar.
google avatar

Leonard M.

Yelp
This is hands down probably the finest establishment in all of Bergen County. Located in Midkand Park NJ. Folks travel from multiple states to dine.
google avatar

Susan B.

Yelp
we have been ordering arturo's take-out at least once a week while i have been recovering from knee surgery. we love the food and the sizes for an entree are ridiculously big. they always include rice balls, salami and cheese and a hunk of their delicious bread which is still warm when we get it home. they are always so polite and professional when taking our phone order. so now that i'm feeling up to it, we will be eating at the restaurant tomorrow and taking our son and daughter-in-law knowing they will love the food as much as we do.
google avatar

Matt W.

Yelp
Never again. I wouldn't have given a one star review simply for the fact that we had nothing except bread and water for 30 minutes after our arrival. When we finally did get to order, I made the mistake of asking for whole wheat pasta. The menu said it was "available." Despite not saying anything about the extra charge, I assumed there was a nominal one. The waitress said nothing about it. When the bill came, I was astonished to find a $12 up charge for whole wheat pasta. I asked the waitress about it and she said she told me. She clearly did not. If she had, I never would have ordered it. No apology, just took payment. Absolutely awful not to disclose his but even worse for her to act like she had. UPDATE: I put a review on Google Maps as well and the owner chose to argue with me as though I was never told there was a substitution fee. I never said that was the case. My complaint was about a half bowl of pasta adding $12, which they absolutely did not state anywhere. Further, she argued that the waitress claimed she informed me of the upcharge, which is a complete lie. She acknowledged the substitution, wrote it down, and walked away. Amazing that a business thinks it's a better idea to argue with a customer make false claims than just to own up to their mistake.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
I decided to give this restaurant a try about a month ago. I ordered 2 chicken francaise entrees to go. I told the waiter I wanted linguine on the side w/the francaise sauce on it. He said there would be an extra charge for that. I asked why & he said if I wanted butter or marinara on it there would be no extra charge. He said it would be $12 extra for the francaise on both sides of pasta. I bit the bullet & said ok. 15-20 minutes later I get my entrees and bring them home. Big disappointment. The chicken barely had ANY sauce on it at all. It was like they brushed sauce on it and that was it. PLUS my linguine had ONLY butter on it - no francaise sauce which I paid extra for. Really ??! I will not be going back.
google avatar

Julie F.

Yelp
Outrageously expensive. I asked for a different sauce on my side of pasta that came with my meal and was charged for a whole new side of pasta - just for vodka sauce! $12 extra up charge. I paid $4 per cup of tea! It was unreasonable and I will not return. Don't take advantage of your customers - especially new ones. The pandemic has caused a fury of price gouging. This was a total disappointment. The food was ok- I was ripped off and will not return. Take care of your customers first.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
This is an older style Italian restaurant with a large bar. The service was slow the night I went and my pasta entree was just average. I've eaten in many Italian restaurants around Bergen County and this is a place I would not return to.

Mitch K.

Yelp
My wife and I both grew up in Bergen County and we have been to most of the excellent Italian restaurants over the years. Arturo's is by far our favorite for any occasion. If we just want a couple hours to ourselves, the bar is a nice place for a quick bite and there is often entertainment. If we want a romantic dinner, we head to their porch area. For a business function or family dinner, we can always find the right table or section. Of course there food is excellent, but so is the treatment. Go there and take your time for a nice experience. Start with a drink at the bar and enjoy the music, often a piano player on the weekends. Don't rush through dinner and make sure to try a special appetizer and homemade dessert.

Carolina F.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and the food was amazing. Jacquely was amazing with the service, I had the trout fish and meet balls as an appetizer, veal and lamb as an entree and a great bottle of wine, it equal to an amazing dinner. Highly recommend this place.

Pete F.

Yelp
I was a little apprehensive to go here because of the ratings on Yelp but it was recommended to me by a few people. I am very happy I went. I have been here a few times and it's been quite satisfactory. The menu is extensive and the service is exemplary. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. I tend to favor the appetizers over the entrees. Arturo's is a bit pricey and I have definitely had better food but overall it's a great spot and will come here again just for the variety. If I had any major complaint it would be the parking. There's a parking lot and on street parking but it is difficult to find a spot after early bird. 4.5 stars.

Yelp
Arturo's offers old school Italian in a great atmosphere . We checked out Arturo's for the first time ~8 months ago secondary to repeatedly hearing our neighbor say he was going there for dinner . The restaurant brings old school Italian charm both in esthetics and with the waiters as they complement the feel in their black suites . If you want a more lively atmosphere head to the bar area which always seems to be busy with people both eating and drinking . We've been here about 5 x now with each visit offering good consistent food with great service . Having a 3 year old can always bring challenges but they constantly come over offering her attention and making sure she is happy. When you sit down, order your drinks and start to gaze at the menu , you are given a small antipasto plate consisting of paper thin cut meat , cheese , and rice balls . Little gestures like this make the experience even better ; it screams welcome to my house, my kitchen, sit, eat , and stay a while . As for what to eat ? The menu is extensive and we've yet to order something we didn't like.

John C.

Yelp
I have been coming to Arturo's for 8 years the food is always Excellent . The prices are in line for Top Quality . I go out to dinner weekly . This is one of my Favorites restaurants . I will continue to come .

Tyler V.

Yelp
The food is excellent and the menu has something for everyone. The service is usually spot on - Miguel is one of the best!

Janice C.

Yelp
Food is amazing. Service is superb. Atmosphere is wonderful. Miguel makes great cocktails.

Yelp
Arturo's is the Italian Restaurant version of Cheers. Just like Cheers, to truly enjoy the atmosphere and make sure everyone knows your name, the hot spot to sit is at the bar. It is both literally and figuratively the center of all the action. And by action, I mean their live entertainment Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. At the bar, you will meet Miguel and Harry. Two very friendly, very accommodating bartenders. Start with a drink of your choice, while you read over the menu. Their menu might be daunting at first glance, but the large number of options just means you can try something different each time you visit. My very first meal here was their soft shell crab special. It was the perfect traditional way to have soft shell crab. Lightly breaded and sautéed over linguini with a garlic white wine sauce. I've also tried their Panzerotto Lobster which has actual chunks of lobster meat in it. I'm partial to seafood, so I look forward to trying more of those dishes. But I also know that they make some of their own pasta, so I will be sure to try those dishes as well. If you want to dine at a nice neighbor restaurant that has a cozy & fun atmosphere, give Arturo's a try!

Yelp
Never disappoints! Food is amazing and authentic. Ambiance is old school but I love that.
