Aruffo's Italian Cuisine

Very homey Italian restaurant, with tasteful decor on the walls, ambient music, and dim (but not dark) lighting. Ordered calamari, which was not bad per say, but lacked any crunch- the sauces the accompanied it had little flavor, to the already, fairly bland, calamari. Although I did not order the salad, I was told that the dressing was pretty good. The salmon bisque was also just okay- nothing really stood out about it. The sourdough garlic bread is absolutely delicious (though a pain to cut into neatly!). Lasagne and gnocchi dishes were both equally flavorful. Not pictured was the tiramisu with the delicious mascarpone, which is enough to share amongst two. Although not something that can be entirely controlled for, it can get a bit loud inside from the other patrons.

The staff are just as wonderful—attentive, welcoming, and genuinely happy to make your meal special. I brought my mother here for lunch, and from start to finish, everything was outstanding. I had been craving a hearty Bolognese, and Aruffo’s absolutely nailed it. The sauce was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. My mother ordered the lobster and tiger prawn ravioli in a smooth cognac cream sauce, and it was honestly one of the best pasta dishes we’ve ever tasted. We also shared the ricotta bruschetta, which was light, creamy, and full of fresh flavor. Our server, Jacob, made the experience even better. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations. My mother enjoyed a chocolate cappuccino while I treated myself to a Manhattan that was mixed flawlessly. Just when we thought the meal couldn’t get any better, Jacob brought out the dessert tray, and every single option looked amazing. We finally decided on the chocolate crème brûlée topped with fresh mint and juicy blackberries—it was heavenly. We left completely satisfied and already talking about our next visit. My mother even called her friends on the way home to tell them about how wonderful everything was. Aruffo’s delivers exceptional food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere that makes every visit feel special. Aruffo's Italian Cuisine is truly delicious 😋 !!! Make sure you order their Tuacana pizza, crispy prosciutto / wild mushroom 🍄 / red pepper / mozarella on top of pesto sauce, then covered by think layer of arugula, OMG, one of the best pizza I've ever had!! Their meat balls is also recommended. One thing worth mentioning is that there's many classic Italian posters on the wall, makes the entire restaurant very tasteful.

The back patio is intimate, the cocktails creative, and the food, especially the house garlic pane, is rich! Julian provided nearly impeccable service. We did have to refill our own wine, but that was no big deal. Try the ARGIANO red.

Lunch at @aruffos Italian Cuisine yesterday. While my lunch looked beautiful, there were a few issues with quality. My grilled artichoke heart appetizer was great, no complaints there. You can never go wrong with goat cheese, in my opinion. However, my colossal shrimp and scallop pasta was disappointing. For $46, I did not expect to have to put my hands in the food and peel the shrimp at the table. I voiced my concerns, and my server informed me that's how the dish is served, and he'd be happy to bring me a warm towel for my hands, which I appreciated. When I finally was able to eat my lunch, the seafood was very overcooked and worse, the scallops were gritty and felt like I was chewing sand. I would not recommend this dish at all. I tried the lamb. They had good flavor, but my friend had difficulty cutting them and said the food was very rich and ended up sending almost the whole portion home with me for a snack later.

Been twice. Both times wonderful. Try the Pendleton Old Fashioned. Casual,but dressing up is just fine. Flip flops and shorts not an option.

Nice spot with a variety of flavorful options, attentive service, and garden seating. It is on the pricier side, but fortunately all dishes are large enough to share.

Great service and food!! The restaurant is in the heart of the village. We got 3 main dishes which sides and a sourdough bread for under 100 dollars. It was amazing

I came in last week and had a perfect experience. Food was delicious and came out fast fresh. Matthew was our server he was great, he had a good sense of humor and very personable with great recommendations. We got the pappardelle costalette write the short ribs and the seafood cauccucio. We will definitely be coming back more

Aruffo's Italian Cuisine is such a cute little spot in Claremont and definitely gives off an upscale, cozy feel. My fiancé and I went around 2pm on a Thursday and the restaurant itself is small, intimate, and really charming. We ordered the Pollo Salsiccia Gnocchi, Bucatini Carbonara, Ricotta Bruschetta, and an Affogato for dessert. Everything we had was really good. The gnocchi was rich and comforting, the carbonara was creamy and flavorful, and the ricotta bruschetta was a great way to start the meal. Also, their complimentary bread is SO good. Warm, fresh, and honestly hard to stop eating. The only downside was the noise level. There were three large groups dining at the same time and since the space is small and tables are pretty close together, it got really loud. It made the experience a little less enjoyable, especially since we were there for more of a date-style lunch. Overall, the food and vibe are worth checking out and I would definitely go back, just maybe at a quieter time.

I went for a business lunch on a Saturday. I have been for dinner and because my business contacts wanted to have Italian, I suggested Aruffo's. This was my first time having lunch here. The ambiance and service was great. We sat at the patio behind and it was beautiful. There were several tables having lunch too but it wasn't noisy and we felt we had enough privacy. The server was very helpful and moved us to another table when the sun started shining into our eyes. I was disappointed with the food though. We all had paninis and they were dry, tough and overall not very flavorful. It was rather embarrassing. Perhaps a salad would have been better.

Had another wonderful dinner.. Out on the beautiful patio.. Service always spectacular friendly, not an empty plate to look at.. Shared scampi was great.. drinks choices were elevated.. Well done...

Stopped in late afternoon for an early dinner. Seating was easy. The service was friendly and very attentive. Started with a loaf of warm delicious garlic bread. The lemon piccata was prepared with artichokes so I was in heaven and the chicken parmigiana was perfectly cooked generous and comforting. The creamy lime cheesecake was a great way to end the meal and the chocolate martini (had to try it) was smooth, rich and yummy. Finished off with a cup of pressed coffee .. everything was wonderful! The charming patio made the whole experience even better. Relaxing lovely, cozy ambiance. We'll definitely be back!

The food at Aruffo is exquisitely prepared and delicious. In an old Italian setting. The Menu is carefully balanced and enticing. From designer pizzas or salads to entrees, then dolce, and café corretto, it is a menu for the gods. But unless the ample entrees are shared, the prices are 50% too high.

We came for a Thursday early dinner (6PM). There was ample seating available but they will not seat you until your whole party is present which for so much seating available irked me a little. I saw the sign for the back patio seating 'secret garden' which was really cute outdoor seating, but not as lush/garden-y as I thought. I will also note that the flies everywhere if you eat outside so that was a bit annoying having to constantly shu them away. Maybe they needed a fan or fly trap for the space out there. I would eat inside the next time. Majority of dishes here involve pasta which is no complaints for me. Our server was attentive and checked on us often which is nice! Appetizer: Calamari and burrata / both solid classics and would order again. Entrees: Carbonara, Pesto, Seafood - favorites were the pesto and carbonara. Creamy and pasta cooked well. Seafood had a good amount of protein but flavor was more muted. Dessert: Looked delicious and they will bring a display out for you to choose but we were stuffed at this point so definitely next time!

Aruffo's vibes are just what you expect the North Pole to feel like. Warm and cozy. Ready to relax with a glass of wine off their extensive wine menu. Only come here when you're really hungry cause the staff won't warn you how large and scrumptious the portions are! But don't fret! They're amazing as left overs. Highly recommend the ragu if you're in for something heavy.

We had an excellent early dinner, we were walking in downtown Claremont and I peeked inside this restaurant had that authentic Italian restaurant energy. I loved the service the waiter was great he spoke with knowledge of the menu I could tell that this was going to be delicious ! AND IT WAS!! Everybody loved it !

My wife and I dined here twice; once for her birthday with friends and once on date night. The atmosphere is beautiful. It's a smaller space but easily accommodated our party of 10. The service was pleasant on both occasions and everyone had the food and cocktails brought to the table quickly. My favorite part of the evening was the food. Very traditional Italian cuisine. The house bread at the table was to die for and is not what you expected. Our entrees were excellent. If you are in the mood for a good Old Fashioned, this is the place to order from. We will be coming back!

My partner and I came here for our Valentine's Day dinner a few days before the actual holiday because we didn't want to deal with long waits and big crowds. I was very excited to try this spot as my friend recommended it and looking at the menu online, I was quite excited to have Italian food from here. We started off with the bruschetta and it was just so refreshing. I've been craving bruschetta ever since we've eaten here and I've been wanting to make my own version at home. I also ordered the bellini for my drink and I was very pleased! For my entree I got the vodka creme and I had forgotten the name of my boyfriend's entree but it was delicious! The pasta I ordered melted in my mouth and I was just so happy with the outcome of our food. Although we had so much to eat, we just had to get tiramisu which is our all time favorite dessert as a couple. And it was just perfect! It was truly a great way to end our dinner. I want to mention that our server was very kind and attentive. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations for us including the salmon bisque that I'd never had before. The restaurant itself is super cute and I just love the decor that they have as it's quite inviting. I can't wait to come back soon!

My friends and I came to eat here on a Friday late afternoon. The ambiance is really nice, especially the outdoor patio, and so were the servers. However, the food was a real let down. I had been wanting to eat some real carbonara for a long time, especially after trying to make it at home. The carbonara is not legit carbonara. There is barely any egg flavor when carbonara has a staple of egg in its sauce. There was also no cheese flavor like pecorino romano, mostly just cream. Then my other friends got Alfredo which was bland and the pomodoro sauce, which the flavor was good but the noodles were undercooked. The bread appetizer and lobster bisque was the best part of our meal. We each paid almost 30-40 bucks for our meals. My carbonara was $38 and was not even that big of a portion. I've had carbonara in Japan that is better than here. I forgot to say really just ham pieces in the carbonara at least use bacon if you can't afford guanciale.

I've been coming here for the past 4yrs wether it be celebrating something special, date night, or just for a delicious meal and cozy ambiance. The service and waiters here do a phenomenal job at caring for you they are very professional, well mannered and overall kind. The food continues to be AMAZING!! Every time I order something new it wow's me. The drinks are just right and so tasty. I will forever come back to Aruffo's time and time again. I just left here after having some yummy dessert, an Aperol spritz and enjoying the jazz that's played throughout the restaurant - it reminded me how much I truly love this place and how it leaves a warm happy impression on me each time I leave. Fresh bread made daily, good seasoned plain spaghetti, Steak and gravy... tastes like Italian comfort food from a mom. Not the granny type that makes you hug the belly and feel like you're in a thick blanket after a good glass of wine but just her daughter with handed down recipes. Server was great Ofcourse, no issues there and the feel inside is pretty dark, moreso for a nice date. I wanted to love this place as I have tried it a couple times but I just like it. it does the job and is a local staple.

This is one charming restaurant that suffers greatly from mismanagement and poor policy. The food is - fine. The descriptions on the menu make it seem FAR more delicious than what arrives, namely the waygu raviol, which is just weird cat food mush inside overcooked pasta, or anything involving salmon, which is ALWAYS dry as a bone and metallic-tasting. Same with the cocktails, same with the desserts - I honestly had the WORST tasting Aperol spritz here, the champagne tasted like pennies and I got a gnarly hangover from a single one - must've been some Cook's Brut. Everything is priced SKY-HIGH, embarrassingly so for the quality delivered. And the service, which used to be better, has tapered off so significantly that we can't imagine returning. Food arrives at a scattered pace regardless of its temperature. Requests for dressing or salt go unanswered. Drinks go unfilled. And the bill takes an hour to arrive. Please understand: This comes from us dining at this restaurant at least a half-dozen times: we keep trying because we're so bored of the Claremont restaurant offerings and even the worst of the worst still pop back in the queue from time to time. But I think that we're done trying for now and hope that new ownership can take over soon and rectify the Sysco drivel, sub-par kitchen execution, and abysmal service. The prices do not represent the quality of execution or service whatsoever.

I love this Italian restaurant! The food is delicious, staff is friendly and the indoor or and outdoor space are lovely but service is slow. My husband and I came for lunch and returned a week later for dinner. For lunch I tried the Panini Peperonata Panini with fries and my hubby had the Lasagne Al Forno. *They start with their signature bread, which is a delicious round loaf topped with a chunky tomato sauce, soft on the inside and lightly crispy on the outside. More please!! :) *The Panini was absolutely delicious and the bowl of fries are crispy and tasty. I could only finish half my lunch. I want that again!! *The Lasagne was the best my hubby's had in a very long time and it's a really large portion. He could only finish half of his lunch too and he craves it now. For dinner I had the Aragosta E Gamberi Forno and hubby had Pollo Al Marsala. Dessert was Chocolate Crème Brûlée. *The Aragosta E Gamberi was like an elevated lobster mac & cheese. It is a smaller dish and is very, very cheesy! I liked it, but it was a little rich for my taste. * The Marsala was a large portion of two chicken breasts in Marsala sauce with pasta with marinara sauce. Hubby said the flavor was good but the chicken breasts were a little overcooked and he would have preferred marsala sauce on the pasta instead of tomato. *The Chocolate Crème Brûlée was ahhhhmazing! The crème part of it is similar to a chocolate ganache. It's topped with blackberries and a layer of semisweet chocolate that balances out the richness of the crème. Now my husband is craving that too! More please!! The only complaint that I have is that both times we went the service was extremely slow. It was worse when we went for dinner. They don't seem to have enough servers and they were outside a lot more. I'd still come back and just plan on a long leisurely stay. Or maybe we'll try sitting outside. ;)

I wish I could be writing a glowing review but unfortunately that's not going to be the case today. The first time I came here was in 1997, and the food was really great, they used to have a pollo ravioli dish that was epic, but it's been removed. I took hiatus from here for a food mishap a few years ago that went a bit unresolved, but decided to come back for a business lunch as my client's office is nearby. The replacement Wagyu Ravioli just didn't stand up in it's place, not that it was bad, it simply didn't make me want to eat it and crave it. The bread is still awesome. Service was good and the place itself hasn't changed in terms of decor and motif. I wish them well.

Food: for most of us yes but for 1 of us was not. He ordered the wagyu & the presentation wasn't very pleasing. Not enough food: ravioli but mostly sauce. Was it good? He says it's ok. Food was served in an hour. Plate was warm but the food was not. Ambiance: crowded & we were seated in the corner. Service: it was a busy evening by the time the server came it was past 30 minutes after we were seated and finally we had our water to drink. Overall the food was good- I'd like to try again some time when it's not so busy. Check it out! Located in Claremont Village. $$$ If not for being seated in the corner, food not warm enough & if they have given a bit more attention to us- I might have given a five star. Next visit then.

And then came dessert: the pumpkin cheesecake Let me just say -- wow ! It was deliciously amazing-- smooth, creamy, and full of that cozy fall flavor without being overly sweet. Honestly, I would come back to Aruffo's exclusively for that pumpkin cheesecake. It's easily one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. If you're in the Claremont area (or even if you're not), Aruffo's is absolutely worth the visit. Great food, excellent service, and a dessert you'll be dreaming about.

Really good customer service! All the waiters were very attentive. Our waiter Giovanni was all smiles and definitely made us feel welcome. The food was absolutely delicious. Really enjoyed the mussels and its broth. I couldn't get over that chocolate mousse. Such deliciousness! Nice layout inside, I'm definitely coming back!

What a let down this place was. We ordered wine, ragu bolognese, linguini vongole, and pizza. Nothing was good and definitely not worth the outrageous price they charge. The pizza was awful - horrible crust. The bolognese tasted like jarred marina with no seasoning. Vongole was just OK. Deinitely not worth $45. The wine we were served had to be sent back because it tasted so stale and flat. Do not recommend this spot at all.

The food was very good. There were only 2 tables with guests but a very large party on the patio, with a demanding Karen, so we didn't see servers as often as we needed.

Delicious Authentic Italian food, food was delicious no complaints whatsoever. Very cozy ambiance, excellent service and all the staff were nice. Both indoors and outdoors seating was available but we picked indoors cause of the cozy atmosphere. Overall excellent in every way and highly recommended. Parking could be a bit tough to find but preferably park in the parking structure close by.

I would say the only thing good about this place is the location and interior decor. Started out experience with a flaky waiter, who was mia most of the dining experience. Ordered cocktails that took forever to arrive . Calamari appetizer that was overcooked with small pieces globbed together. Pasta noodles overcooked for spaghetti and meatballs. The dish for my friend was also overcooked. The butternut squash ravioli was swamped in fettuccine sauce with no flavor. Latte was okay; however, it had the smallest biscotti I have seen compared to the size of the latte. Especially compared to the lady finger served with the martini next to us. Will I be back - probably not.

My family and I have dined at Aruffo's for 30+ years. We love the food, the service and the ambiance. We have made so many great family memories there. Aruffo's is our go-to spot for good food and a memorable experience.

Every time I come into town, I try to come eat here. It's one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I don't think I ever had a bad dish. It's a cute small place and everyone is so nice here.

My friend took me here for a post-birthday lunch. She told me that this restaurant looks nicer at night time because of their lighting. We had the following pasta dishes: * Bucatini Carbonara - This was a mouthwatering dish! It was made of custard cream sauce, peppercorns, pecorino cheese and bucatini pasta. The meat used was Capocollo (pork cold cut). * Pesto - This consisted of penne pasta mixed with basil, walnuts, pine nuts, pecorino cheese, cream and extra virgin olive oil. It was rich and filling. Another thumbs up! * Tuscany Garlic Pane - This was the Tuscan-style garlic bread that came with our order. It was good and savory! It was too much for us and we could not finish it. * Spumone Gelato - We were surprised how pretty this dessert turned out! Since it was for my birthday, the chef made it looked extra special. :) It consisted of pistachio, Amarena cherry, dark chocolate shavings, blackberries, biscotto, waffle cookies garnished with flowers and mint. Excellent customer service! Our server was so attentive and on spot! Probably the best Italian restaurant in Claremont.

Pomona has no deficiency in cute and fine dining options. Aruffo's is kinda just okay. Don't get me wrong, their food isn't bad but it's certainly a little too salty for my taste. The salmon bisque was fantastic and set the standard a little high cause my lobster shrimp pasta dish thing was a bit of a let down after. It was too salty for starters. The seafood portion was decent enough though. The aruffo's casa cappuccino was unique though, made for a nice finish to a fairly overpriced dinner.

Absolutely heartless and disgraceful behavior. On Christmas Eve, while my family's home was actively flooding, this company decided that holding onto our deposit was more important than showing even a shred of basic human decency. We informed them of the emergency immediately , a genuine, unavoidable crisis, and were met with cold indifference and zero flexibility. Instead of empathy, we got excuses. Instead of support, we got silence and rigid policy-worship. Apparently, compassion is not part of their business model. Watching a company hide behind fine print while a family deals with a flooded home on a major holiday is beyond disgusting. This wasn't a casual cancellation. This was an emergency that no reasonable person would ignore. The refusal to return the deposit says everything about their values or lack thereof. If you're considering doing business with them, ask yourself whether you'd want to be treated this way during the worst moment of your year. Greed over humanity. Avoid at all costs.

After spending two weeks in Italy this year, my husband have been on the hunt for good Italian food. We've walked by Aruffo's a hundred times, and finally tried it. So so so glad we did, because our meal was incredible. The appetizer meatball is so tender, and the sauce is perfect. The house bread was garlicky and great too. My husband got an Old Fashioned that he said was good. For entrees we got the Carbonara, and the chicken Parmesan. Their red sauce is just so good. It isn't too acidic or too sweet. The carbonara was good and creamy, but next time we're going to go with another red sauce dish. The tiramisu was moist, and perfectly sweet. I can't wait to go back!

I took my mother for lunch and we absolutely loved it. I've been craving a really good Ragu, Bolognese, and today. Aruffo's did not disappoint! My mother had the lobster tiger prong ravioli with a cognac cream sauce. This dish will knock your socks off. We ordered the ricotta bruschetta for the table and it was delicious. Jacob was our server and he was fun, informative and attentive. My mother had a chocolate cappuccino, and I indulged in a Manhattan that was made to perfection. Jacob brought over the dessert tray and what a selection. We ended up with the chocolate crème brûlée that was garnished with mint and perfectly ripped blackberries. All in all, we were so happy with our experience my mother called her girlfriends and was bragging about our experience today! 1000 times worth it. If you want a really good Italian cuisine with an upscale ambience. This is a spot. We're definitely gonna come back. First time here and our server Alec took care of us with prompt service. Beat the rush and I'm glad we did as it gave us time to take everything in. The vibe is fantastic much like a New York eatery. The dishes were incredible but the Salmon Bisque soup was to die for. Pesto pasta was delicious. Extensive wine list and bar menu made this spot a place I'll definitely visit again.

Aruffo's is an amazing spot and like its restaurant where your first impression is small ,simple and classic you can dine outside where you can get a sense of the unique heart of the this restaurant. To start off we came here on a random decision. We walked in and it felt like a nice Italian spot with dark decor but then the host took us to the back garden area and bam... just gorgeous setting the tone for our meal. Our host was Micky and he was amazing, on point with taking our orders, checking on us, suggestions and just being a great host. The food ... where do we start... the bread was so good for an appetizer with the herbs and oil... it was so good and you would not think the orange peel would add such a citrus hint to everything. I got the Alfredo Del Mar and thought I would have liked the sauce a little thicker it was delicious. The noodles, scallops, salmon and shrimp were flavorful on their own and with the sauce. My wife got the wagyu manzo and she loved every bite. I actually got some of her mushroom and added it to my pasta and it elevated it with a bit more savory flavors. My mother in law got the aragosta e gamberi forno and my deliciousness!!!!! lol we finished with the lemon meringue, the track chocolate crem brûlée and the panna cotta. There was not one thing we had that disappointed. You really defined your restaurant with amazing flavor and texture. This is perfect for dates or nice dinners with loved ones and we will for sure be back.

Yes there are 3 Italian places within 2 blocks off the same street in Claremont... I've been coming to Aruffos for 20+ years. Most recently I dined on Christmas Eve in a packed restaurant. I'm glad I made a reservation. The star of the menu is the pane, bread topped with tomato sauce. I should return just for that. My server helped me customize the pasta in my dish. If you want a different cut of pasta, just ask. The Pacific Salmone had a sweeter flavor that was balanced by the earthy tomato sauce with aldente farfalle. The house salad is a mixed greens blend with carrots and balsamic. So thankful it's not iceberg. The desserts on the tray always look appetizing but I was too full this visit.

Another great night with friends at Aruffo's last night. Service is always amazing, food delicious as always and their outside patio its just perfection on a nice summer evening! We ventured off and tried a few new things from their menu which was their aragosta ravioli and aragosta e gamberi forno - both was amazing and probably one of our favorite dishes now! Aruffo's always exceeds our expectations, can't wait until our next visit :)

Having just returned separately from a 6th grade camp and an AI Conference, My wife and I went to Aruffo's Italian Cuisine (https://aruffos.com ) for an early dinner. We started with the Olio d'oliva Dipping (ex-virgin olive oil, aceto balsamico, an array fresh herbs, blood orange rind, Aruffo's Tuscany garlic bread), which is always fun to make and eat. I was craving some fresh bread with something delicious to dip it in and this fit the bill. For my meal, I had the Pettine E Gamberetti (colossal shrimp, scallops, ex-virgin olive oil, pinot grigio wine, lemon, garlic, hint of cream, fettuccine). The shrimp and scallops were perfectly cooked and combined with the lemony fettuccine were great together. Robin had the Pollo Limone Funghi e Carciofi (pan-seared chicken with Meyer lemon, artichoke hearts, capers, hint of cream, pinot grigio wine) she thought it was a beautiful combination of flavors. For dessert we shared their Panna Cotta (Italian classic, Madagascar vanilla bean crème, Seasonal fresh fruit coulis, Italian biscotto). It was fresh and light. Great service as always. Aruffo's was decorated for the holidays and did not disappoint.

Last night me and my wife dined at Aruffos for my birthday and had the best experience! From service to ambiance to the FOOD! This place has it all. My sever was geo and he was an absolute delight. Will definitely be returning !!!
