Arun Residence is really a four storey restaurant and bar with just two guest rooms. Ours was the smaller, split level room. Downstairs is the bathroom and wardrobe, upstairs the bedroom and lounge/TV area. All was clean, comfortable and well maintained. And what a view! Directly opposite Wat Arun across the river. Beautiful in the daytime, stunning at night when lit up in a multicoloured show.
It's a stone's throw from The Grand Palace and Wat Pho, with plenty of cafes and coffee shops nearby. Also worth a visit is the Museum of Siam just down the road. Sanam Chai metro station takes you two stops into Chinatown.
One drawback, the room is up two flights of stairs with no lift and there are stairs in the room itself. So if that's a problem, it's not for you.
