"Arunee Thai, Jackson Heights by Diane Shaw. In a neighborhood brimming with great hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurants, Arunee stands out for its modern decor and spacious seating. They do a better-than-average version of your usual favorites like pad cee ew and tom kha gai. Sidle up to the bar for a drink after work or a quick bite."

Scale of 1-10 Interior design: 8 Customer service: 7 Food (weighs twice as much): 7 Price: 6.5 Very nice interior design but a bit too bright inside for my taste as I like dim lighting which makes a place more cozy. Very little customer interaction as they didn't even stop by to see if we needed anything. The fried calamari was very small in portion for $8, the shrimp fried rice was good as it had decent sized shrimps and the Thai coconut ice cream was just basic coconut flavored ice cream with bits of real coconut. The price of the food didn't justify the flavors and the portions. Also we saw a cockroach running around our table which really brings down the overall rating. Please like the review if it was helpful 😁

Google
This place is easy to pass by if you're not really looking since there is no awning but once you go inside the place is quite lovely. The drinks are good here; lychee martini, Baileys Thai Tea, and the one with whiskey and basil 👍🏽. The Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice were delicious (the rice is actually served in a pineapple bonus for presentation). Although tasty I was underwhelmed with the pad woonsen: very little noodles for the amount of cabbage, peppers and onions in the dish. The staff was nice and attentive without hovering. All in all I'm sure I'll go back.

Google
If y’all are looking for some good Thai food in queens this is honestly the best place!! I had the Pad Thai noodles and pineapple fried rice, it was all so good! Also they have the best pork and shrimp fried dumplings!! They were so crunchy and warm and the service here was great!! Everyone was so nice and treated us really well. The interior is so cute as well I took this great photo of my Thai tea with the super cute background.

Google
Papaya salad was 🔥🔥🔥. The pad see ew tasted great, but the chicken was a bit overcooked. The Pad Thai tasted excellent as usual. Would definitely come back. Bathrooms available. Kind of cramped in there. Parking a bit harder to find.

Best Thai in the neighborhood! We always love having date night here, especially for their dimly-lit ambiance. But this is also one of my favorite take-out spots for a night in. Quick delivery and always hot and delicious. The watermelon margarita is very fresh. We absolutely love the pad Woonsen, basil fried rice and the chicken wings

Google
Pad Puck was tasty maybe tasted more like the sauce rather than the vegetables but thats just my personal preference, I still enjoyed it though Worth the trip and time spent here. Service was nice. My gf liked her Pad See Eiw which was sweet/salty She said her margarita was good too

Google
The service and food was phenomenal! beautiful ambience as well. They have a fair a selection of food. Drinks are also top notch, We enjoyed the satay, chive dumplings and chiken pad Thai(not pictured).

Google
One of the best Thai restaurants in Jackson Heights, and there is a ton of competition within 10 blocks. They offer their $8.50 lunch box during the weekend while everyone else just keeps it weekdays only. Clean restroom, friendly staff, but as most Thai places go, delivery always seems mediocre and smaller than in restaurant. 2 people can leave full and happy under $30 with tax and tip.

Yelp
I used to order here often for lunch but I stopped ordering due to lack of flavor. I have been back here before for happy hour which is great. Their lychee martinis are absolutely delicious. I decided to give this place another shot for lunch so I ordered their lunch chicken pad Thai. I can honestly say I was super disappointed; the chicken had no flavor, the noodles has even less flavor and it was just not good. I called them and requested a new dish which they were very polite about and didn't hesitate. They asked me what was wrong with my dish and I told them it lacked flavor. Their response was that they don't add too much flavor or seasoning to their food which honestly baffled me. They gave me the pork pad see eiw. I thought this one would be better but it wasn't. The whole dish was greasy and lacked flavor all around. Will not be ordering lunch from here again.

Yelp
The restaurant is cute but poorly lit. The beef satay appetizer, chive dumplings and rdamame were nice. They tasted good and were unique. I haven't had got beef satay before until eating it here. The pineapple shrimp rice did not smell pleasant. It had an off putting smell. It tasted okay, nothing special. The pineapple chunks were too high. There was four or five pieces of shrimp in there. I would not recommend the pineapple rice. I've had better. The chicken in gravy sauce was not good. It was like a hot and sour soup without the spice. It was sticky and very heavy with very little taste. The chicken with vegetables was nice. It was light and had a slightly sweet but salty sauce with it. Mera's tip: try the beef satay

Yelp
Hands down, one of the best services and most delicious food in the neighborhood. Their drinks, food and dessert are delicious. The restaurant is spotless and the tables are distanced where you don't feel too close to other guests. One the few neighborhood gems!

Yelp
Food looked AMAZING and portions were just right for lunch. Also (not pictured) we had a dessert with whipped cream and fruit loops on top that was aesthetic and especially perfect for my grandmother since it was "not too sweet". Great service (our water cups were constantly filled) and the restaurant was long with sleek, authentic Thai wall art that was super appealing!

Yelp
Really love this thai spot, came here with my parents bc my parents always want thai. But it was so good I had to bring my friends to try here too (this review is a combined review of food ordered from both visits -- i also realized i may have ordered over 50% of the menu...) Apps/salad - duck salad: my friend actually chose this and best app ever. Not really a salad, more of a duck in this delicious sauce with a side of some veggies. It's came in a tangy sauce, with a hint of sweetness. The duck itself was perfectly cook, soft and literally melts in your mouth - chicken wings: originally I wanted to order stuffed wings, but unfortunately, they don't have so we settle for plain ol' wings instead. still fantastic and super crispy. - chive dumplings: the perfect snackeroos, perfectly fried and chewy and piping hot in the middle. This were gone quick at my table -mango salad: goes really well with the chicken wings, and to make it like we're on the street market of thailand, we ordered a side of sticky rice to soak up the leftover sauce. Entrees: - Pad See Ew: If there's one thing this restaurant does well, it's their pad see ew. They come with broccoli, typically comes with chinese broccoli, but there's an upcharge. Regardless, handsdown one of the best pad see ew i've had. - Fish in the Garden: so this is a recommendation from the owner, and I came back with my friend just to try this. And boy, did this dish NOT disappoint. Presentation was on point, the fish came out topped with mango salad which just paired so well with the lightly battered/fried fish. Dessert: - fried banana: when eaten alone, they're ok, but with a scoop of ice cream it's divine - fried ice cream: the outside dough/batter is a bit too thick, but other than that still pretty good (i mean it's ice cream how can it be bad?) - mango and sticky rice: a classic, not sure how they're still getting fresh sweet mango during this time of the year but i'll take it!

Yelp
Love this place so much! The ambience is so comforting and pretty and elegant yet chill. Food was amazing ! You don't have to wait too long at all. Also the water is also refilled immediately which is a huge plus again for me. It wasn't loud so you can hear your partner talking. And the food was just so light and fresh, where after eating I didn't have to go to the potty lol it was so great !!! Love it and so coming back here again. Def must go !!omg forgot to mention affordable !!!!

Yelp
Their panang curry is ridiculously delicious. Rich and intense with a nice selection of vegetables. And their basil fried rice is the best of any I've tried in Elmhust and Jackson Heights. We've eaten in the restaurant and done delivery and they are consistently good. The ambiance and service are really nice and the delivery is fast. I would say they are a little more "Americanized" than some of the Elmhurst Thai places by which I mean that "medium" spicy here is not punishingly hot. But it's not dumbed down or overly sweetened for American palates.

Yelp
We were fortunate enough to be invited to Arunee in mid-December for an unofficial Yelp holiday family-style dinner organized by Jeannie, with an amazing menu curated by Jeannie and Ben. Food: Very Good (4 of 5). Everything we had was well-executed. There were three memorable dishes for me this evening -- the Happy Hour skewers, an off-menu ceviche, and a beef noodle soup. Appetizers we shared: - Kung Chae Nampla: an amazing, off-menu ceviche consisting of raw prawns and Thai chilis. While others noted a significant level of heat to this dish, my portion didn't have any, but was still superb. My suggestion is to pair this dish with an alcoholic drink. - Shrimp Rolls: Thin crispy shell, not greasy. - Calamari: standard, well-executed. - Moo Dhad Diew (Marinated Deep-Fried Pork): a little dry. - Happy Hour skewers special: This had two skewers each of beef, lamb, and chicken -- the beef and lamb skewers were amazing -- juicy and flavorful, even without the dipping sauces. Drinks We Had, included: - Lychee Martini: Happy Hour version. Strong, good lychee flavor. - Thai Iced Tea: standard, very good. Main entrees we shared included: - Crab Fried Rice: Good; could use more crab. Crab flavor was subtle, if present. I thought this particular dish was somewhat pricey for what it offered. - Pad See Eiw: Good; unnecessarily sweet, in my opinion, due to added sugar. - Fish In the Garden: The fish was slightly overcooked, but beautifully presented, with a great range in flavors due to the lemongrass and sauce on the bottom of the plate. - Guay Tieow Nuea (Beef Noodle Soup), with Cow Blood: Superb. The common description across our tables was that this dish was similar to a Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup, but with intensified flavor. Of the desserts we had, I liked the Thai Ice Cream the most. - Thai Ice Cream (Coconut and Green Tea): Both flavors were creamy. The Green Tea didn't have its usual bitterness, while the Coconut was very flavorful. - Fried Banana with Honey: A nice combination of thin crunchiness from the thin deep-fried shell and mushy sweetness from the banana. - Pumpkin Custard: an understated dessert. - Fried Ice Cream: very good. Service: Very Good (4 of 5). The staff made sure we were happy, by giving us a change of plates, refilling our water glasses, and helping us take a group photo. Suggested tips on the bill were inconsistent, however, based on percentages somewhere between pre-tax and post-tax subtotals. Atmosphere: Very Good (4 of 5). Comfortable, moody atmosphere. There are two unisex bathrooms, with one having ADA grab bars. VPN-friendly Wi-Fi from the Starbucks next door is accessible through the walls, though it isn't particularly fast due to their volume of customers.

Yelp
A surprise find in the middle of Jackson Heights. They make the most amazing, Guay Tieow. A noodle soup dish that is a blast of bold delicious flavors. A Thai style dish with flat noodles and choice of beef or pork muscles and the addition of cow blood for $1 more. Yes! I know that sounds weird but definitely get the cow blood. It adds a dimension to the dish that is truly awesome. I woke up this morning, saying to myself, " I need to get more of this noodle soup!" A rich beef bone stock made from simmering for many hours with aromatics. Add some flat noodles, protein and a few veggies and you have an awesome hearty meal. Perfect for chilly weather. Add a few balls of lard that are fried to a light crispy finish. A perfect topper for the hearty soup. Guay Tiew: (there are several ways this might be spelled in English) literally means noodles in Thai. Decor: A modern semi lit, warm polished wood feel, decorated with Thai accents. They have a great happy hour with pretty strong drinks. You know I need my lychee martini! Get here early, before 7pm, to get in on the happy hour price.

Yelp
We always seem to come here in a large group! I had forgotten we had a group lunch here a while ago and when Jeannie T. wanted to have a holiday dinner UYE, we jumped! We came in at the tail end of Happy Hour, so was able to order some drinks and appetizers from the HH menu. With a full dozen Yelpers, we got to try lots of different dishes that Ben L. handpicked for us and enjoyed family style. With his insider knowledge and deep dark secret menu, he ordered more traditional dishes beyond the usual pad thai and was even able to swing an off menu dish. Starting with drinks, both alcoholic and non, there were Lychee Martinis, Bangkok Smashes, Thai Iced Teas & Coffees all around. The appetizers soon came, with Grilled Beef, Chicken & Lamb Satay Skewers (w/ 3 dipping sauces), Fried Calamari, Sliced Marinated Pork w/ Sriracha Sauce, Fried Shrimp Rolls, Spicy Crispy Pork & Fish Maw Salad and Ben's surprise Raw Prawns with Thai Chilis. Those chili peppers and the salad were deadly spicy and I was burning. The creamy sweet Thai Iced Tea helped to cool the palate somewhat. Then the main and side dishes came and kept coming. Thai Fried Rice and Cashew w/ Mixed Vegetables weren't spicy but flavorful. Wide rice noodles were featured in 2 dishes, the Pad See Ew & the Beef Noodle Soup. I didn't find out until later that the soup was beef blood based but I was able to identify 3 different meats with beef meatballs, flanken and brisket. The highlight was the Fish in the Garden which was a fried Red Snapper. The fillets were deep fried in chunks and served in a spicy & sour dressing with herbs & young mango. Make sure to pile some of the herbs and mango on the fish to get the full flavors. I was tempted to take apart the head and rest of the body, but I was pretty stuffed. Of course we had to finish off the dinner with dessert family style: double portions of Coconut & Green Tea Ice Cream, Fried Coconut Ice Cream, Fried Banana Rolls w/ Honey & Pumpkin Custard with plenty of spoons. My favorite was the Fried Ice Cream, complete with whipped cream and topped with a Maraschino cherry and paper umbrella. Good company always makes good food taste better and this was a fantastically fun evening for all of us. Thanks to Jeannie & Ben!

Yelp
Per the web, this is a Contemporary Thai spot for a taste of traditional Thailand dishes such as noodles and curries. Just visiting Thailand over the summer, I was missing the food. Based on fellow trusted Yelper reviews, this place was on my radar to try. First off, in true Thai form, the food leaned toward sweet flavors, savory bites and lots of spices and chili's. I thoroughly enjoyed the food the entire evening but what made it more interesting was dining with a native Thai and fellow Elite, Ben L. Everything's better when dishes are recommended by someone from the mother land. From start to finish, it was an array of flavors - some familiar to my Chinese palate and some brand new "off the menu" goodies. I'd be more than happy to list every dish but mentioning the favorites is what you should get in here to try: - Satay! Simple concept, executed perfectly. Super popular/casual street food in Thailand. Here, every skewer with a different protein was better than the next. This evening, there were pork skewers featured besides the classic chicken and beef. The meat was tender and juicy. Paired with three dipping sauces on the side (spicy, vinegar and peanut) in it's own compartment so you choose how you want to savor each bite. - Moo Dhad Diew, sliced marinated pork with Sriracha sauce to dip. The coloring on this made it extra appetizing. I liked it with and without the sauce...the Sriracha made it more fun. - Guay Tieow Beef with the cow blood supplement (+$1) was fantastic! The broth in this noodle soup had a combination of flavors reminiscent of Taiwanese cooking. Chunks of beef (texture like for stews) and beef balls sitting in a savory beef broth with cow blood and broad noodles topped off with a few pieces of fried lard. I would've never thought to try this with the supplement. That made a regular noodle soup so much more complex. All of us couldn't decide what flavors were coming out more. It's a must try. Mind over matter, don't focus on the name of ingredients. - Fish in the Garden dish, fried whole snapper where you can see the entire fish. Gorgeously plated and a labor of love from the kitchen. The snapper was fried in pieces, offering a boneless and meat filled bite for each person. Keeping the entire fish in tact (head, spine, tail), the Chef deep fries that entire fish after the fleshy parts are removed. So if you turn the plate all around to view it, it looks amazing. Intact. Delicious. The cashew nuts, slivered green mango, lemongrass, lime leaves, scallions all paired well with the mild flesh making every bite a different flavor. All this plated with a lime and chili dressing. I liked my fish without the sauce so that I could taste more of the flesh but combined with the ingredients mentioned, it brought it to the next level. Awesome combination. We finished our meal with coconut and green tea ice cream, both flavors non-competing and true to taste. Some fried banana with honey and a plate of fried ice cream with lots of whipped cream were other desserts we tried. I almost forgot to mention, if you get in before 7pm, you can partake in their Happy Hour drink specials, lychee martini for me. I also ordered the Thai Iced Tea later on...a perfect finish to my lovely dinner experience. Please click on my photos to see the other notable dishes ordered. You'll thank me later. ;-)

Yelp
This place has great food. We ordered the Hoy Taud appetizer, Mango Salad, pineapple fried rice with chicken, panang curry with chicken, Pad sew eiw with tofu and shared everything family style. There was 4 of us and we were stuffed. Every dish was amazing and highly recommend all these dishes. The mango salad was so refreshing. We had a few folks in the group that did not like spicy food, so we ordered everything mild and it was very very tasty (as someone who loves spicy food, I didn't miss the heat at all). Highly recommend! Paramita

Yelp
Went with my friend yesterday. It was my first time having Thai food and I was not disappointed! I had the Panang Curry and Fried Ice Cream and they both were very good! I plan on returning there and if you're in the Jackson Heights area of Queens, make a stop there and try the lunch special.

Yelp
I gave them one star because it's a nice location but the waitress was nasty and unfriendly. I ordered Chicken Pad thai and it was super dry. I didn't like it at all. I asked for sauce the waitress had the nerve to tell me it's a dollar. I was totally confused, if i order food and you charging me for sauce.... really! I regret not ordering the pineapple rice because other customers were saying it was good. However, I will not eat here again because my food gave me the runs. It didn't agree with my tummy! Also, if you order your pad thai to go tell remove the bootleg veggies because it takes space that you can get more pad thai for your money

Yelp
Wasn't impressed, with a plethora of Thai restaurants in Jackson Heights, this place stood out for all the wrong reasons. Pros: the interior is nice and cozy Cons: everything was too sweet, I know that Thai food is usually sweet but this was inedibly sweet.

Yelp
Wow! Service is quick and on point. Food is great! Had the Thai salad. Wonderful and the peanut dressing is the best I've ever had! Beef satay was perfectly cooked and the cucumber dipping sauce was delicious. The pad Thai khing with chicken was delicious and healthy. Pineapple fried rice was enjoyed. Overall I'm very thankful to discover this place and will be back many more times!!!!!

Yelp
Had my favorite thai appetizers; spring rolls and chicken dumplings. I also drank a glass or three of Sangria de Maracuyá ( white sangria ). And as always, I ordered a grilled salmon; amazing food

Yelp
I've always walked by here but never went in for a bite. Then one evening, my bff and my boo were looking for some dinner with standing room available at a high-table or a bar area. And we first tried The Arepa Lady, which when I was there last, they had high-tables but that night (11/30/18) we walked in and asked what happened to the high-tables?! They got rid of them!!!!!! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! So, I remember we passed Arunee Thai on the way and I noticed a bar area through the windows... so we walked back and as we entered, the bar had just enough space for us on the side to have two high chairs and one standing (me (back aches preventing me from sitting)). We had multiple persons helping us with our orders. I think tips might be shared. We ate the bok choi w/ mushrooms and a Pad Khao w/ chicken and Jasmine rice. One app and One meal was enough for the three of us. Everything was delicious! We looked at the desert menu after our meal and nothing really spoke to us. The bar tender explained that the mochi were really small and you only get two pieces. He said the best one is the mango sticky rice, but we just ate rice, so we didn't want more. Very affordable and friendly place for a bite. The ambiance is chic and cozy. The space itself is large but seems narrower/smaller because the bar occupies space in the middle left. It breaks up the overall room into to several spaces which creates that cozy-like feel. I didn't experience the restroom(s), so that's TBD (to be discovered!). There's beautiful artwork on the wall to the right when you enter. A small vestibule to keep the warm air in and cold air out (and vice-versa in opposite months). Great for groups as well. The only thing I dislike is one of the foods they serve smells like cat piss. I'm glad it came out of the kitchen as we were leaving after paying our tab, but it makes me frightful to return if someone else orders or has already ordered it in the future! Some people don't notice the smell or it doesn't phase them as being an ewwww aroma. I was googling it... it might be a fish sauce. Happy eats!

Yelp
I'm on a hunt to find new restaurants in my neighborhood and this place came up high on the list based on other yelp eliters so I figured why not. I came here during lunch and there wasn't much of a crowd or full tables so I figured it would be a great time to try this place out. I ordered a lunch special pad see eiw lunch box and my friend ordered the vegetable pad thai lunch box. The food was average. Given the lunch selection the portions were small but once you eat everything in the box you eventually become full. The noodle dishes come with a side of rice btw. The tofu soup had a weird smell to it. I've had tofu soup many times and it didn't smell this way. I passed on it. The service was lack luster. We didn't receive a hello or a welcome, we were just offered a seat. As I observed there wasn't a surge of eager servers all around. No other tables were asked if were okay or if they needed anything else as well. I'm going to say maybe it was an off day. I will say the decor is very nice, the murals and the wood tables are gorgeous. Maybe I'll give this place a try during the evening.

Yelp
After walking around trying to find a decent Thai place to eat I ended up here. It's too hot for a full meal so I ordered a sampler and a margarita to acco. The margarita was served with a small iced water. The presentation was cute it came with three sauces as well one was white with veggies, peanut sauce and sweet and sour.

Audrey D.

Yelp
Food is typical Thai. It's fine. The issue I have- and it's on me for not noticing it earlier- is that we asked to split the check in half on our credit cards, they just ran both our credit cards for the whole amount. Like I said, I should have noticed it, but this is the second time they overcharged my friend. If you go, just be careful and look over your receipt carefully.

Yelp
Came to Arunee Thai earlier this afternoon. We ordered the Thai Curry Fried Rice with chicken, chicken Pad See Eiw and chicken Pad Thai. All 3 entrees were delicious! Very tasty and fresh. The portions are very generous as well. Service was welcoming and friendly. Definitely will be back. Thank you for such a tasty lunch, Arunee!

Yelp
I only write Yelp reviews once in awhile now. I was inspired to come back and write a review after the last couple of visits here. I really dislike the food. It's very hit-or-miss. I got a noodle dish last time that was bland and the gravy seemed unnatural. There isn't an excuse for that at a self-respecting Thai restaurant. There is nothing special at all that differentiates this place from any other bland, uncreative, phoning-it-in restaurant. The extra star comes from passable service and acceptable ambiance. Unfortunately there was a family watching videos on their phones sitting near us last time I went, which is rude, but it's the food I've grown to loathe. I decided that was my last visit.

Yelp
Arunee's Pad See Ew is the best I ever had!!! Special thanks to Sensei Ben L. for bringing me here! I have to admit that I am not the biggest fan of Thai food. I do like the flavors but the cuisine itself isn't my go-to. My party and I shared dinner here one evening. We got Yum Sam Krob, a salad with crispy pork and fish maw. This was a really refreshing appetizer to start with! We also got the Fish in the Garden, a fried fish with lime dressing, strings of green mango, lemongrass, and cashews. Little fish filet are cut up and fried until crispy. The flavors of the garnish went very well with it. I did wish that the fish filet was a bit more crispier because it was a bit moist by the time we got it. Pad See Ew with Pork, this was my highlight and favorite dish of the night! The flat noodles are perfectly stir-fried and a nice mixture of the dark and light soy sauce flavors. Loved it! I'm a fan!

Yelp
Big shout out to Ben L for telling me about Arunee Thai! Arunee Thai was pretty darn good! Great atmosphere; great vibe. I had no problem at all getting a reservation for 12 ppl. Service & hospitality were nice and friendly; attentive without being overbearing. My only critique is that the food wasn't very spicy. I realized after we got our food that they never asked us how spicy we'd like our dishes. Not sure if they looked at our group of 12 (all mixed races) and dummy'd down the spice level or this is the normal spice level. But regardless of the spiciness, the consensus was that the food is fantastic! Fresh, tasty ingredients which melded each dish together nicely. The advantage of having a mild spice level is being able to taste the ingredients and appreciating all the different flavors and textures of each dish. This was our shared menu tonight (shared by 4 ppl): ~ Hoy Taud (fried egg pancake w.mussels over sauteed bean sprouts; served w.sriracha sauce) - what a fantastic dish! This may very well be my fav dish of the night! ~ Larb (salad w.ground pork w.peanuts, red onions, lime juice & Thai herbs) - this was a good dish but probably would have been much better if it were spicy. ~ Pra Ram Rong Soang (chicken w.peanut sauce w.side of carrots, bean sprouts & broccoli) - classic dish; loved the peanut sauce. ~ Fish in the Garden (fried whole red snapper, cashews, green mango, lemongrass, lime leaf, onions & scallion w/ a lime & chili dressing) - definitely the standout dish of the night. Visually stunning when presented to our table! Lots of flavor, great texture and quite tasty. ~ Jan Pad Poo (thin rice noodles sauteed w.crab meat, chili, egg, scallions and garlic) - kind of bland and boring. The only disappointing dish. I wouldn't order this again. ~ Rice (choice of: jasmine (white), brown, coconut or sticky rice) - the majority of us ordered the coconut rice, which was outstanding! All-in-all a fantastic meal! I would definitely return to try other menu items and that off-the-menu shrimp dish that Ben L was telling me about! Recommended and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I am not going to waste my energy to write a review to explain how bad my experience was at Arunee. My friend's daughter was craving some Thai barbecue pork skewers (Moo Ping), plus it's been a while for us since we had Thai food last. We ordered some appetizers such as Papaya Salad, Frog Legs with Garlic and Black Pepper, Issan Sausages, Moo Ping, Mussel Pancake, and 3 entrées; Seafood Sour Soup, Basil Sauce Fried Rice and Stir Fried Chinese Broccoli with Salted Fish. One thing I noticed and would encourage you to stop cuz it is very bad for a restaurant business. Entrées which are already on a pricey side (~$13), don't come with a bowl of steamed rice. You have to pay $1.50 extra for that. Secondly, you cannot order your stir fried spicy cuz the kitchen won't make it spicy for you. Hmm. So long my Thai food. Issan Sausages were bland and not sour enough. Mussel Pancake was a little oily. On the other hand, the Papaya Salad and Frog Legs were good and were the highlight of this meal. The entrées came out as we're still working on our appetizers. And they were trying to shove everything on our table. I was very upset with my order of Stir Fried Chinese Broccoli with Salted Fish. The stir fried was very soupy. I had to drain all of the sauce out. THERE WERE ONLY A FEW PIECES OF SALTED FISH IN THERE. THE AMOUNT WAS LIKE A TEASPOONFUL OF IT COMPARED TO HALF A POUND OF GREENS. I complained to our waitress, who ignored us for the whole course anyway, about the amount of salted fish. She said, "Look, there were some chunk of it in there" -- I musta been blind. She also said she would inform the kitchen who apparently didn't give two sh*ts about it. Well, $13 down the drain! Thanks for ruining my dinner. I'd feel so embarrassed to recommend anyone to your restaurant. Where's your integrity? I'm sure you open a restaurant just to save up some money and go back to Thailand. It shows! This is sad. I'm sorry.

Yelp
One of the top thai restaurants in the city. From start to ending we had a great meal here. Above quality ingredients and authentic dishes. It's also a great place for groups to have a meal. Top dishes here were the avocado green curry. Wonderful balance of flavors and heat with chicken. The avocado really balances the heat. The red snapper dish was also a hit. Nice heat with flavors and a perfectly fried snapper that was super fresh. We even loved the pad see ew and pad thai. Super fresh noodles and ingredients that was a standout for even noodles in a city with plenty of thai restaurants. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Always enjoy the food here. The restaurant originally was at the end of 79th st corner of Roosevelt. I knew the owner's daughter as we are all neighbors and went to the same schools. Now they are updated, more modern with full bar and own/managed by my friend and her husband. I like to support local businesses. Food is yummy. Great taste and presentation. Service is quick and friendly. Food always hot. Never disappoint me and no compliments. Prices a bit higher than expected but same as other thai restaurants in midtown or even brooklyn. I always get: chicken panang curry and chive dumplings. Yum. Will be back again.

Yelp
I came to Arunee Thai with a group of 7, and we were seated immediately (on a Saturday evening without a reservation). The lightening is dim, and I loved the wall decor (took some nice pictures too!). I was seated near the door area but I didn't smell anything funky (referring to the previous comments made). The Thai iced tea is a must here for $3.00 in a mason cup and fresh cold taste. I ordered from the noodles section which was around 14 dollars, and the meal was enormous! To be specific, I ordered drunken noodles called Guay Tieow Kee Maow *spicy with shrimp (additional 3 dollars if you get shrimp or beef). It was hard to finish but with tomatoes sliced and large jumbo shrimp with flat noodles, I accomplished the impossible! I will def go back again with friends! Plus, our tall, male waiter was a gentleman! Loved their service as well as willing to kindly charge my friend's iPhone.

Yelp
Came here an hour before closing time because we were really craving some Thai. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken, the bf ordered Pad Thai with tofu and a soup I forgot the name of. The soup had tofu and veggies in it, so it wasn't anything super new, it was just to warm up since it was really cold out. When I try out new Thai places, the first dish I always try out is the Pad See Ew, or Pad Thai. It's my go to dish. The pad see ew was really good, especially for a dish that was ordered that late at night. You know the flavor is gonna be delicious when some noodles have that carmelized burnt piece. The pad see ew didn't have the usual bok choy or broccolini, it had actual broccoli-- and I'm not mad about it. I liked it a lot. The pad thai was a bit different from other places I've tried. The noodles were thinner than the standard pad thai noodle, and it was a bit more orange in color too. I'll just brush it off as "late night noodles"-- I'll try the pad thai again at an earlier time to compare. But it still tasted pretty good. Not too shabby for my first visit here. I'll be back to try out more things for sure.

Yelp
First time visiting this place after a recommendation and I must say, I had no regret. Interior had a very modern look to it but very spacious. Staff was friendly. Both food and drinks were delicious. If you're looking for a cheap yet elegant Thai restaurant to dine in, this is the place for you!

Yelp
After a day of shopping, there were so many restaurants and eateries to select from that I had to search reviews for a place to sit down and have lunch. Arunee Thai is a nice spacious restaurant. Did not feel like I was walking into a Thai restaurant. Tables were kind of small and for two. We had lots of clothes on and bags. Next time put two tables together much more roomier for all the plates and cups. We ordered the Salmon Bento Box which came out in a big tray. The peanut sauce dressing was good with the salad. So use to the ginger dressing. Really enjoyed the different pieces of appetizers that came with the bento box- my favorite is the Chive Dumpling. The fried shrimp wrapped in wonton skin was good too. Salmon was nicely cooked and smothered in red/green pepper, string beans, baby corn and onions with a dark sauce. Nice to pour sauce onto the scoop of rice. There was a piece of pineapple for dessert. Will definitely be back to try their other entrees.

Yelp
I placed a pickup order on yelp for the Suki Noodle Soup and fried dumplings. My order was ready in 15 mins. My food was nice and hot when I got home- 30 minute drive later. So that is a definite plus. The soup was tasty, spicy and sweet. Portions are huge so it's great for sharing. Dumplings were yummy too!

Yelp
Arunee is a very spacious and modern looking Thai place. Supposedly, they have moved a couple times, but I have only been to this current location. The food is extremely authentic and very affordable too. I recommend coming for one of their lunch specials, which are all around only $9. Their bento box is especially filling with an entree and some soup, salad, rice and an appetizer. I thought their pad see ew was excellent too, with the perfect texture and flavor.

Yelp
I came here while I was visiting my Uncle who lives around the area. I asked where the more popular places are around his area and told me this is one of his favorite spots. After trying it out myself I can definitely see why! This restaurant is an average size place, not too big but not too small. The inside is has a very modern design that gives off its chill vibe. I came during lunch and it wasn't too busy so I was attended too and seated right away. As I haven't eaten at many Thai restaurants, I asked my server what they recommended and they told me their fish lemon grass with yellow rice was a very popular dish. After I went with their recommendation I also went ahead and ordered a moscow mule like drink as well. Service was fast as I only had to wait about 8min for both my food and drink to be served. My plate of food came and I could see my entire plate surrounded by a moat of the lemon grass sauce. I've never been more excited to try a dish I've never had before! The filet fish practically dissolved in my mouth and released the lemon grass sauce everywhere. It was a real burst of flavor! Making sure I got a nice spoonful of the cashews with my bite of fish was really enhanced each bite as the contrast between the softness of the filet and crunchiness of the nuts made a nice pairing. My drink was also very well made and complimented each bite. It was gone before I knew it! I know to definitely come back here and order more delicious meals next time I visit my uncle!

Yelp
Whoa. So I went back and I'm so glad I did. I ordered a Salmon Panang Curry, which is under Mamas fav. I love spicy, so I ordered spicy. It was absolutely delicious. They are open right now. They have outdoor seating. The service was great. Definitely coming back and ordering more.

Yelp
One of my favorite Thai Restaurants in Jackson Heights. The ambience both indoor and outdoor is very relaxing and inviting. Staffs are very friendly and positive energy. They make the most amazing shrimp rolls and Chive dumplings. The Pad Prik Khing is delicious. To sum it all up, I cannot leave without my Thai Ice Tea. A must go if you want to eat great and amazing Thai food.

Yelp
The Pad Thai boxed lunch set was ok. It came with rice, soup, dumpling, and salad. The pad Thai was lacking in flavor and I didn't like the texture. The salad came with a pineapple which was delish. The dumpling was good and I enjoyed the soup. Overall, it was an OK experience, but I wouldn't necessarily come back.

Yelp
Average Thai restaurant in Jackson Heights. Food is OK but nothing to write home about. Service is friendly enough but nothing exceptional

Yelp
They're so laidback and welcoming and then their food is amazing. I've taken several friends her and there is a consensus on how good the food is at Arunee Thai:

Yelp
Cool, hip, modern Thai restaurant in Jackson Heights. I've always been a fan of Arunee Thai in the old location with the traditional Thai decor. The new location is brought Arunee into a whole new era of hipness into the Jackson Heights neighborhood. I love it! Foodwise - still delicious as always. Red Curry and Fried Ice Cream are still my favorite!! With the new location, the service is a little slow, so some patience is needed. ENJOY!!

Yelp
Found Arunee Thai by mistake and was instantly delighted and impressed with cozy ambience, friendly service (male bartender working - he does a great job!), nice drinks and food is great (with the exception of "steamed dumplings" that were microwaved (rubbery) not steamed, due to being later in the evening yet still charged full price, even after pointing this out. Maddie the bartender could care less. She bangs tables and chairs around, rude to customers but other than that - other servers are friendly, they do their best to please. Nice place to enjoy delicious Thai food at reasonable prices...just go when male bartender on duty, not Maddie! Bad attitude and it will ruin your appetite and dining experience.. :-(

Yelp
Have this place a second chance, explored more of the menu and loved it! Great customer service. Great ambiance and delicious/ creative Thai food! Highly recommend: "Fish in Garden" - whole fried red snapper with spicy mango salad on top. Basil fried rice - delicious! Choice of meat, we tried chicken. Mango Sticky Rice - generous position and a perfect ending to a delicious meal! Definitely check out this Thai spot!

Yelp
Spacious and modern-looking Thai restaurant with your reliable staples and then some. Saturday evening was a little busy but got a table in a few minutes. Noticed they had some interesting cocktail choices. Had to get the Dirty Thai Tea ($9) - your regular Thai iced tea spiked with vodka and Bailey's. Actually a very good combination, though they put more Bailey's than anything else. For my meal, ordered the Udon Noodle Soup ($10) - a large bowl of udon noodles with chicken, beef and shrimp. Extremely bland with no taste in any of the ingredients; highly disappointed in the dish. Asked for some hot sauce to get some sort of kick - added a few spoons of chili paste, didn't settle well. On the other hand, I had a taste of one of the curry dishes which had a lot more flavor. Service here is okay (had to flag down waitress to get hot sauce and for the check though food came out fast). Might try again for a curry dish.

Yelp
I have come here several times over the course of a few years and I used to even dine at their old location on 79th before they moved to 37th ave. But as time has passed, my enjoyment of this place has lessened. One of the most common themes I noticed here is the bad attitudes some of their employees have. This review is based off the several years I've come here. The food doesnt seem to separate itself from other Thai spots. At times the food can be a bit bland. The portions are larger than their competitors. The decor is plain and the layout is nice. Enough space to sit and eat. Sometimes you may feel rushed to eat or finish the meal. Bringing the check while eating can be annoying. An appetizer is usually brought well in advance of the main course, but here, they bring them either one immediately after the other or at the same time. I commend those who enjoy this place. I unfortunately dont anymore. Happy eating to all
