Reception is open 24 hours which was great when we arrived at 1am. The woman spoke Spanish only, so make sure you know enough to get checked in. She was very friendly and helpful - there is info inside the room printed in English which should address any questions including breakfast hours. Our room was small and smelled a bit musty, but it served it's purpose for the night and we felt very safe. It was loud outside due to local clubs. The shared bathroom was clean and wifi worked well. Breakfast was made to order and included eggs, toast, juice, coffee, tea and fresh fruit. Bottled water is available for purchase at reception. There are maps and tourist information also available. Service was good, the woman working was friendly and helpful. They let us store our bags during the day while we explored the city.||My only complaint is that when I booked the room, the hotel offered to arrange transportation for me at the airport, I sent flight info and was assure someone would be there with my name on a card. I waited nearly an hour and no one showed. I ended up taking a taxi which was fine, but I could have avoided wasting an hour at the airport.

Stayed here for five days in mid-January. Good value in it’s class of accommodation. Character building, wooden floors, spotlessly clean, friendly front-staff. Nice backyard garden for a break. Shower water was luke-warm at best. Breakfast was OK, not a buffet...couple of eggs, toast, good coffee and juice. Great location near the Plaza Foch, but a tad noisy from street activity on weekends. Great value for the price.

We stayed here twice during our trip at beginning and end. The rooms were clean w/ nice decor. We especially enjoyed having drinks in the garden area out back and even had chance to stay in garden room. The breakfast was great. The staff were extremely nice and their English was better than our Spanish. We accidentally left something behind our 1st stay and they remembered us 2nd time and returned it to us. We also booked taxi extremely early am to airport thru hotel and was very reliable.

Great and serviceminded hosts! Affordable and good location. Highly recommended! Also a safe place and good neighborhood. The breakfast tasted good. Thanks for the hospitality! Now we are heading to Cayambe and Chimborazzo for climbing after three days of aclimatizing in the mountains near Quito city.

Ive stayed at Arupo B&B on two visits to Quito. The building is surrounded by a concrete fence, like most of the old homes in the area. There are about 10 rooms which are very private and clean with a backyard area. Feel free to use the kitchen facilities as it's open for guests. The family that runs Arupo is wonderful and always friendly and smiling. The location is in the old town area, central to many attractions in the city. This is where I will stay every time I am in Quito.

Good place to stay, would recommend a garden view room, the others are on the street and it can be really noisy especially on the weekend. Only down aspect is the front door of the hostel to the street. You need to get h the one person working to open the door. At times you need to wait. Should have a way to open the door from the inside at least. Good breakfast, bed, hot water, very nice staff.

This place was perfectly fine, it was clean and the breakfast was very good. It was also well situated (although this particular block was a little dark at night, but the neighborhood seemed extremely safe). The only thing about this place was that hot water was very sporadic. We only felt it once in a two night stay, and it didn't last long enough for three people to take showers consecutively. Other than that, place was great.

Great location, felt very safe, and it was incredibly good value for the price paid. Breakfast was also great, and the staff was super friendly! It was tough to fall asleep at times at night, because the neighborhood parties loudly until 4a, but that's going to be an issue at just about any hotel in the Mariscal area.
