Great place to stay in Monodendri. I had a room in the attic. Very spacious room and bathroom. Very quiet at night. It did not have an outside space such as a balcony but I did not mind.|Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. |Recommended

We stayed here for one night as part of Zagori hiking holiday. The hotel is well situated at the top of the village. It reminded us of a traditional alpine hotel: dark wood and fireplaces in the bedrooms. The facilities are basic but comfortable. It's family run. We decided to eat there in the evening. We were the only guests doing so and we had a basis , but very good meal amongst the wider family. The breakfast was fine. We weren't too sure about it to begin with but ended up enjoying our stay.

What we liked:|Location - great place for exploring the beautiful Zagori region. Amazing view from the room, walking distance to many lookout spots, hiking trails and restaurants.|The rooms are adequate size and very comfortable. Always hot water in the shower, even if it is a bit on the small side.|What we did not like:|There is central heating that at the beginning of October was turned off. Coming back from a long day of hiking, last section in the rain, temperature of 13c outside, 6:30 pm we asked to turn the heat on. We were answered that it is not officially winter yet so they only turn on the heat at 8 pm. If they cannot turn the central heating 1.5 hours before planned, It would be nice if they could have offered us a portable electric heater. (Which they did not have).|Breakfast, as mentioned in other reviews, is limited and is not fresh. For example, The tomatoes seamed like they have been cut the night before.|The safe (in both rooms we had) did not work.

Wonderful hotel with excellent facilities. Beautiful, authentic building where you feel the spirit od Zagori. Very nice host, very good breakfast, nice but not big swimming pool with mountain view. I must to come back!

Staff was not friendly. Rooms were very hot with no air and the smell of a grill coming in in the evening and in the morning. The shower was old. Breakfast looked like it was made the day before, there was a rice pudding cup with mold. The pool is much smaller than it seems in the photos.

The hotel is very romantic and a great place to experience Zaguria's peacefulness and beauty. The rooms with the mountain view are especially amazing. The view from the balcony will rewind your spirit and soul, enjoy!

Positive: breakfast wonderful, location close to hikes, balcony in room excellent view.||||Negatives: no heat in Oct (temps at night 6-7 degrees celsius) when complained got 2 hours heat in evening which heated room well until about 4-5AM.||Shower horrendous, doors broken, mildew/mold. ||Some lightbulbs in room flicker even when off, had to unscrew them. Staying there with another friend and only 1 key available so annoying when going out separately. ||Wifi spotty.

Monodendri is a historic village in a region with a number of hisyoric villages. Stunningly beautiful mountains and historic villages. This is popular with Greek tourists but a little isolated of you don't have a car. We simply picked this village off the map and were pleasantly surprised. Set beside the picturesque Vikos gorge. We stayed 5 days - visiting the small local museum, touring around the gorge and dinning in a good selection of restaurants serving authentic greek food.
