This was a last-minute booking for one night in Lisbon due to changed plans. I simply looked at the map, saw a reasonable price, liked the location, and booked it without much expectation.
The entrance is very unassuming — probably a historic building, but nothing grand or attention-seeking. You wouldn’t guess much from the outside. Inside, however, it feels like stepping into a beautifully curated luxury antique store. Normally, this is exactly the kind of hotel style I don’t like: antique, luxe, lots of furniture. But here it works — everything is placed with intention, taste, and restraint. There are many common areas, all different, all thoughtfully designed, and somehow it never feels cluttered.
The room itself isn’t large, but it’s extremely well designed. Plenty of storage, comfortable bed and mattress, good bathroom and shower, and excellent soundproofing with double-frame windows. We opened the windows to the street, and even with a street view, the room felt calm and contenting. Everything matches the heritage character they’re clearly aiming for — and succeed at.
A highlight was discovering the library and common spaces, which feel like they were designed to invite people to linger. The terrace overlooking the port and the river is another standout — the morning views were especially beautiful.
Breakfast was excellent. Served in one of the common areas with different tables and seating, it felt relaxed and never crowded. Very good selection: hot station with really tasty eggs, pastries, fruits, and multiple coffee options. Everything was replenished quickly and attentively.
Reception is small but very friendly and welcoming, and the staff gave us a great dinner recommendation for the evening.
Overall, I was genuinely very happy with this stay. For the price, it exceeded expectations. Comfortable, tasteful, calm, and full of character. Highly recommended.
