I almost didn’t come as I couldn’t book online in time, I called the restaurant and got in no worries. So glad I made the effort. Service was top notch Great atmosphere music not too loud Food was amazing, I was very impressed. I had the tongue skewer - never had tongue before, OMG this was sensational The anchovy on bread - wow the should have ordered a few of these Tartare was great The Sher wagyu skirt steak was divine The cocktails: Old Nuez - their take on the old fashioned, wow very impressed Plátano en Bariloche - their take on an expression martini - so good, do I order another one? I’m full, dessert menu in front of me, be rude not to finish off. Torta de chocolate with paired Penfolds Grandfathers Port

Good ambience and atmosphere. Great for big gatherings, though I found the menu a tad bit limited for different palates, and not for kids as there was no kids menu - so possibly not for families with little kids. But I get it’s a argentinian-Spanish style cuisine so fine if you wanna try that. Also limited for those with dietary requirements or vegetarians.

Stopped in for a couple of small entrees and a coffee, coffee was delicious the entrees I got were the black anchovies with garlic cream on toast. Very nice, very small tho. Interesting anchovies they weren’t the normal strong salty tasting ones that u normally get on a pizza. Also got beef empanada. That was great. Very tasty in a nice crunchy pastry. And finally the beef skewer. Quite nice but again very small for $15 but good. Although I will note that they cook them on the rare side which might not be to some people’s taste. Overall very nice food will definitely pay another visit to try some mains. Must note great friendly Argentine staff.

I had an exceptional dining experience at Asado in Southbank. From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, with stylish décor and a beautiful setting overlooking the river. The food was absolutely outstanding — rich, authentic Argentinian flavours with premium meats cooked over a charcoal grill and beautifully presented dishes throughout the meal. The menu offered a fantastic variety, from perfectly charred steaks to delicious tapas and shareable plates, all full of flavour. The service was attentive, warm and knowledgeable, making the evening feel special. I highly recommend Asado for anyone looking for a memorable meal with amazing food and excellent hospitality. I’ll definitely be back!

Came here for an anniversary dinner and it was amazing! Staff were very friendly and very accommodating to my partners diet as he is lactose intolerant. Definitely recommend getting a set menu (3 to choose from). I'll let the photos speak for themselves, we will definitely be coming back for more!

Good food and service with room for improvement. Had the beef tongue for $9, tartare for $26, black spiced sausage for $17, entrana skirt steak for $58. Was excited for the beef tongue based on the number of reviews of it. It definitely had good char and was tasty. However the texture was quite a let down. Much too soft and mushy for a tongue cut. Tartare was the reverse with a firm meaty texture but flavours were a bit unbalanced with a little too much on the sour side. Was informed by the staff that it was a new recipe for one of their signature dishes introduced for the first time the day before. Creme fraiche had a delicious smoky flavour as well. Spicy black sausage again had great char flavours but the texture was a bit of a let down. Crumbly minced like textures rather than meaty bites. Quite greasy as well. The entrana was a bit too salty and oily. Tasted a little like they double salted it - once before cooking and another salting after cooking. Great char and medium rare textures for a skirt cut but the salt and oil detracts from the experience. Sangria was on point. Refreshing, strong and tasty. After ordering the above, we were advised by the waitress that servings may be quite small and it may be enough if we weren't too hungry. We were. But the four dishes was still quite a bit for the two of us. Left feeling a little bit too full. Quite glad we didn't order more. But perhaps food was heavier rather large in proportion. Service was good. Responsive with requests and even double checked on dishes after ordering because of food allergies. Minor issues was asking for the creme fraiche on the side but wasn't served it instead and having to ask for it again. Main lady at the front desk was welcoming at the start and responsive to feedback after the meal.

Visiting from the US. What an experience. Service is 5 star. Dinner was fabulous. Our server Ricky was absolutely amazing. Very friendly helpful with the menu. Great suggestions. My Wife is not a steak person but love this steak dinner!!

Fantastic service and friendly waitstaff who give great recommendations and thoughtfully suggest menu options to accommodate dietary needs. The team took time to explain dishes and offered pairing suggestions, which made choosing easier and more enjoyable. In addition to our starters, we ordered the 500g ribeye and 300g lamb rump both arrived perfectly cooked, tender and full of flavour. Portions are generous and the quality of the meat really stands out. The only drawback (if you can call it that) is the premium price, but the attentive service, excellent cooking, and thoughtful menu guidance make it worth the splurge. To fully appreciate what Asado offers, sample something from each course so you taste the variety and craftsmanship across starters, mains and cocktails!

I enjoyed lunch here. Although this is a "meat" place, you will be able to get other offerings. I had a really great, attractive, colourful and delicious Octopus dish with side salads of squash (hot) and cucumber (cold). It was all so delicious, beautifully prepared, fresh, good quality ingredients and most enjoyable. I'd come back again. Thank you.

We went for our 44th anniversary. "Some of the best grilled meats combined with one of the worst receptions ever. " Unfortunately the ambiance was extremely poor which ruined the entire experience. The music was extremely loud. We asked to sit at an empty outside table away from the music and were told that we could only order drinks if we sat there even though people were being served meals at adjoining tables a few meters away. So our choice was to sit in another location or leave. There was no choice given to wait until our preferred table or a table in that area would allow for a meal order. Carry out would be more pleasant. Of note, I have never previously provide a negative review for any business. Similar experience to Francis P - shocking treatment by receptionist. It would be good to remember that this is a service business and part of the value is the service and experience.

Went for our 10th anniversary... been here about 2 years before now, and had the same fantastic waitress Ally... the reasons why we will return again and again; great food, no problems with dealing with allergies etc, and Ally! Such great service and with a lovely accommodating attitude. Nothing is a problem for her or the fantastic chefs.

Really cool restaurant that serves Argentinian cusine. I really liked the leather decor, and ambiance of this place was comforting. The food was delicious, but being somewhat of a purest, I was disappointed in their octopus entre as it had too much going on being mixed with others things.

Great variety of meats,very nice decor food was amazing steak at great temperature and nicely cooked. Papa's and ceviche you need to try. We tried quilmes beer great taste. Oysters absolutely try them. Please get Nestor as your server very pleasant. I will back next time I come back to Melbourne. Visiting from Los Angeles.

Well have to say some of the best grilled meats combined with one of the worst receptions ever. Stopped in for a late lunch around 3pm and despite the nearly empty area, the 2 of us were seated up against a wall within arms distance of the only large group there. We nicely asked for any one of 20 other tables and the receptionist reacted incredibly rudely. Made a big deal, told us we would have to wait (!?) and sent us to the bar, to wait. Shocking treatment ; came back with an attitude and when we explained again she said PLEASE DO NOT BE AGGRESSIVE! Totally out of context and out of place, would have left had I been alone. But thankfully we stayed and enjoyed deliciously grilled eye steak, skirt steak and vegetables! Not sure how to rate, 5 for food, 0 for the initial treatment, 4 for the rest; have to give a 3 due to the initial shock welcome !!
