Asado has always been one of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne, but I unfortunately had a mixed experience tonight. The food, while impeccable as usual, could not make up for the underwhelming service. We received incorrect items twice. Our chicken main also took nearly half an hour to arrive after our entrees, and by the time we finished this, our 2-hour dining time was up. We were immediately given the bill and essentially asked to vacate the table, without even being offered dessert (which we were looking forward to). I had to ask my server if we could at least order dessert before we go, and only then did she offer to move us to a window table instead. When we were finally ready to settle the bill, we couldn’t find any staff member to assist us. We ended up having to come up to the counter to pay so that we could leave in time for our show. While I understand the decision to uphold the dining time policy, I believe the situation could have been handled more delicately, particularly for a restaurant of this caliber and price point. It was unfortunate that these issues affected what could have been a fantastic dinner, especially as I had to go out of my way to ask for a service that should have been offered to me in the first place. I did communicate some of these issues to my server, however it very much felt like my concerns were brushed off. It almost makes me glad that I wasn’t celebrating a special occasion tonight, otherwise I can’t imagine how much more disappointed I would have been.

Such a great dining experience - our excellent waiter Ricky was excellent. He even wrote a birthday message on the card for our friends birthday. The food was incredible - highly recommend the croquetta and the steak 🥩 anchovies garlic toast is a stand out too. The flan is a burst of flavour (but more on the sweet side) You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes, would come again!

I super enjoyed the meal in here tonight. The dry-aged steak was so delicious to eat. We served by Megan, she is so nice and introduced anything in the menu. All these nice food are recommended her!

Asado offers hospitality, delicious food and a beautiful vibe. Stopped by for a feast on Mother’s Day and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Designed to be shared, it’s an excellent menu with some hefty options for the meat lovers. Mostly everything is cooked on the grill, imparting a thoroughly satisfying taste & texture that was authentic to our experience!

We live in Southbank and this is our first visit to Asado. So the food looked that good when it hit the table that I forgot to take photos of some. Hence why there’s pics of half eaten plates. Sorry about the desert pic but it was 🤤. We had the Asado set menu and loved it. Service was excellent. I will do better with the photos when we go back ❤️.

I’d been wanting to try this place for a long time, and it didn’t disappoint. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere warm and inviting — perfect for casual dining, date night, or a celebration. We mentioned to our waiter that we had a show at 8pm, and he went out of his way to guide us through the menu so our food arrived promptly, ensuring we left with plenty of time to make it. A wonderful dining experience from start to finish.

Could not fault this food we had at this place. Had the el primo set menu for a birthday lunch. This is the second time I have been here for a set menu. Was 8 courses with sides. Pork was our least favourite. A little dry. Rib eye, ocean trout, scallops, potatoes and beef ribs were absolute standouts. Cocktails were delicious with lots of layers. Flavours of all dishes were exceptional. Service was perfect. Not hanging around asking if you wanted more drinks before you finished your first. Good space between courses. Were asked if we wanted a longer space before dessert which was appreciated as we were very full. Serving sizes were generous. Lovely space. One criticism was we were sat very close another group when the restaurant appeared not particularly busy on a Wednesday.

This was my first time trying Argentinian food, and I was honestly blown away! We tried the butter bread, ox tongue, 350g Sher Wagyu Vacio, grilled sausage, salmon, and something that looked like deep-fried dumplings (sorry, forgot the name 😅). No exaggeration — every single dish was delicious! We loved the ox tongue so much we ordered it twice, and the sausage was juicy and full of flavor. The wines were amazing too — pairing them with the red meat was pure happiness. 🍷❤️ Also, they accept KrisPay, which is great for Singaporean visitors! But a heads-up: it took a bit of time to sort out the voucher payment — staff seemed unfamiliar with it, so just be patient. The only downside was that it was a bit difficult to get the attention of the staff at times, especially when it got busy. Still, it was a wonderful experience overall. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking to explore authentic Argentinian cuisine in Melbourne!

Yelp
I enjoyed lunch here. Although this is a "meat" place, you will be able to get other offerings. I had a really great, attractive, colourful and delicious Octopus dish with side salads of squash (hot) and cucumber (cold). It was all so delicious, beautifully prepared, fresh, good quality ingredients and most enjoyable. I'd come back again. Thank you.

Yelp
We went for our 44th anniversary. "Some of the best grilled meats combined with one of the worst receptions ever. " Unfortunately the ambiance was extremely poor which ruined the entire experience. The music was extremely loud. We asked to sit at an empty outside table away from the music and were told that we could only order drinks if we sat there even though people were being served meals at adjoining tables a few meters away. So our choice was to sit in another location or leave. There was no choice given to wait until our preferred table or a table in that area would allow for a meal order. Carry out would be more pleasant. Of note, I have never previously provide a negative review for any business. Similar experience to Francis P - shocking treatment by receptionist. It would be good to remember that this is a service business and part of the value is the service and experience.

Yelp
Went for our 10th anniversary... been here about 2 years before now, and had the same fantastic waitress Ally... the reasons why we will return again and again; great food, no problems with dealing with allergies etc, and Ally! Such great service and with a lovely accommodating attitude. Nothing is a problem for her or the fantastic chefs.

Yelp
Really cool restaurant that serves Argentinian cusine. I really liked the leather decor, and ambiance of this place was comforting. The food was delicious, but being somewhat of a purest, I was disappointed in their octopus entre as it had too much going on being mixed with others things.

Yelp
Well have to say some of the best grilled meats combined with one of the worst receptions ever. Stopped in for a late lunch around 3pm and despite the nearly empty area, the 2 of us were seated up against a wall within arms distance of the only large group there. We nicely asked for any one of 20 other tables and the receptionist reacted incredibly rudely. Made a big deal, told us we would have to wait (!?) and sent us to the bar, to wait. Shocking treatment ; came back with an attitude and when we explained again she said PLEASE DO NOT BE AGGRESSIVE! Totally out of context and out of place, would have left had I been alone. But thankfully we stayed and enjoyed deliciously grilled eye steak, skirt steak and vegetables! Not sure how to rate, 5 for food, 0 for the initial treatment, 4 for the rest; have to give a 3 due to the initial shock welcome !!
