SCAM ALERT!! Just an absolutely mind blowing experience. We wanted it to be great, we had decided to walk in because of the dry aged beef in the window and didn't think to read the reviews. This was an obvious mistake. We thought our waiter seemed nice and was going to lead us in the right direction... What he really did was try to pull the same scam on us they seem to try with everyone (after reading the reviews) pushed us towards a more expensive cut from the start, we said sure seems like he's being helpful. He was not.
They said they bring out the steak to show at the table. Keep in mind we are two people. The steak he brings out is 1.6kg which is insane for two people. To bring some context, we are both chefs visiting from Canada. We ordered t-bone. They bring a bone in ribeye. I literally cook dry aged t-bone in my restaurant, he trys to say no this is t-bone. Okay sure buddy. We try to say no we need something smaller. He says the chef already cut it for us, we have no choice. NOBODY CUTS STEAK TO ORDER that would be crazy at any restaurant. We get pressured aggressively into saying yes.
Lucky enough we both feel an intense sense something is wrong. We should have walked out. Instead we flag down the manager and explain what happened. My feeling is that he is clearly in on the whole thing. We explain we don't want the massive steak that is untrimmed, the wrong cut, not butchered well, likely not dry aged the length they claim. So we push for the simple other steak on the menu. Which was also not good (served blue rare when it was explained it would be medium rare) served with what I feel were canned roasted red peppers and 12 fries. I could go on even more but this is already dragging on too long, and they already wasted enough of our time and left us both feeling horrible. I just can't.
DO NOT GO HERE! (cue the response from the restaurant saying they are sorry about our experience... They are not) Also the waiter threw a hissy fit and wouldn't even look at us after we called the scam out for what it was. Gosh darn that was horrendous. Give us our money back.
