To start this off the sushi was very good and i love it but i can’t say the same the bubble tea it was very bitter and tasted very old i got a strawberry and my daughter got brown suger it tasted like it had been left out and the pearls were so clumped up just look at the photos i showed! If you don’t understand whats wrong with it search up -boba tea pearls- they look awful it also made me feel queasy and im feeling some diarrhea coming up fix this and lower the price for such a gross boba tea!

The atmosphere in the restaurant is pretty run of the mill of most sushi/Asian food places. It was redeeming to see a sushi bar and your rolls be made at the center of the restaurant. It did feel claustrophobic in the restaurant because of the numerous high booths and walls and winding corridors but it was nice for privacy but we had gone when it was very quiet and it still felt to small for the few people that were there. The restaurant was clean and didn't lead to any concerns about overall cleaniness of the resturant. Even with the little amount of people in the restaurant. The service was awesome, the waitresses were very kind and offered their help when every asked. The take out portion seemed a little out of place as it was in the back of the restaurant and lead to a lot of unnecessary noise of people asking for orders and payments being made. The food was alright, nothing too crazy out rolls were bland tasting but the udon had tasted awesome. So maybe it's a hit or miss with items on the menu, but the food quality didn't make me feel like I would t go there again it was for the most part positive and quickly cooked and delivered.

They have AMAZING sushi and nice staff I love the look but I tryed ordering a bubble tea and it tastes like it was left out for 2 days! I felt so sick the pearls were clumping (for ppl who don't drink bubble tea that's means it's spoiled and not right) and it was so overpriced and it was bitter wth!

I had a craving for Japanese food while in Whitehorse. My California roll and unagi don for dinner tasted great. Good service as my green tea was refilled regularly. Asahiya is operated by Mandarin and Cantonese speaking staff. Very friendly, I would go back here for dinner.

Google
Great service. Food was so-so. They have a really good selection, and everything was reasonably fresh, taking into account this isn't Toronto or Vancouver. I got the Alaska roll. There were 5 pieces in the roll, a decent lunch serving for me. The rice was a little wet and tasted rather bland. There were maybe 7 pieces of salmon roe in the whole roll. The chopsticks for takeaway were the flimsier ones that can give you splinters. The wasabi was good though.

Love the sushi rolls, menu items are impressive and reasonable. My server was nice and great service. Comfort seats and free parking outside.

Google
Good quality, fast service and good overall. Prices are pretty high even for whitehorse, sashimi was small pieces and only 8 for 20$! Gyoza was very good, rolls were fresh and tastey as well.

Google
Delicious dinner with quick and friendly service. Had the Crazy roll which is a deep fried california roll with spicy Mayo and some extra fish eggs. Also had the chicken yaki soba which was really tasty. Think this will be my new go to place.

Yelp
Sign says they are closed until after June 8. Was in town for one night. Hope all is well and hopefully I can visit another time.

Yelp
Had to leave a star for the hostess only. Husband and I almost got sick after the first bite. I ordered the spider roll and the crab was deep friend and wasn't even fully de-shelled. And smelt bad. They need to change out the cooking oil, it was old and burnt.

Yelp
We visited in October 2018. My spouse shared his shrimp tempura with me. The shrimp was cooked but it was so soft and delicate on my tongue, it was so amazing an experience I never had tasting shrimp before, a very sensual experience. I had order Unagi plate and it was alright. Their food quality, the atmosphere, must check this place out if in the area. Asahiya puts Asiana Garden to shame on their so-called Japanese restaurant in Juneau, Alaska. I wish restaurants where I'm living have such cooking talent as here. Bravo.

Yelp
Wonderful tasty food and customer service; they have friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and decent pricing. Can accommodate larger groups in a more private booth. Highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy a relaxed environment with attentive staff.

Yelp
I got there 20 minutes before closing and they served me up. Compared to vancouver sushi it's right on Par. Had gomae and it was better than we often get at home. Looking for sushi in Whitehorse I would recommend this and will be back.

Yelp
Food was very tasty. The rice bowls were very generous. Atmosphere was quiet . Service was good

Yelp
Waited 20 minutes before waitress would take my order. Ordered two items and 2 minutes later she came back and said one of them is not available, replaced it with something else and only come back again and said the other item is also sold out. They opens at 4:30 and I arrived at 5. I was basically told what I can have which are not even in the menus. Finally settled with the order and waited half and hour before the food arrived. I guess the sashimi needed a long time to be fully cooked. Sit around for another 15 minutes before I can get my bill. The total came to $60 for two items which is not the cheapest you will find. Please be reminded this is not the only Japanese restaurant in town and this type of service left little for desire to return.

Yelp
This is a decent Japanese place. It's not the best I've been to hence the four-star review. But it's certainly not the worst and I would eat there again. As most places are today the service is less than what you would expect. But I think that is a function of our times. Because every restaurant I go into now is looking for servers and looking for help.

Yelp
Excellent sushi. We only buy nigiri and yakisoba and both are always fresh and tasty. The toro is fantastic.

Yelp
Being from a bigger city, I've been fortunate to enjoy a decent range of budget comfort sushi to high end authentic sushi. Asahiya is the perfect in-between. I went with a group and ordered Box C which had California roll, salad, chicken teriyaki, assorted tempura, with miso soup and rice. The tempura was amazingly deep fried, perfect batter and came out not overly greasy. Everything else in the box was standard. Asahiya is the type of restaurant that won't blow your mind, but will always hit the spot! Except the tempura. That was impressive, comparative anywhere you go!

Yelp
We were just visiting Whitehorse for a couple of days on our way to Alaska and were in the mood for some sushi. We were staying in our RV, and the restaurant was really great about delivering to us at a Starbucks so we could pick it up and head back to the RV. The sushi was very good. Not the best I've ever had but I was impressed. The Natto Maki wasn't at all to my taste- I definitely don't recommend this unless you enjoy eating fermented beans, but it's always fun to try new things! The ingredients were very fresh and the sushi was consistent sizes rather than some restaurants that have loads of rice on some with little ingredients on others. We also ordered the beef noodles which my fiancée said were good. The only reason this place isn't getting 5 stars is that the food was quite expensive, particularly the noodle dish that was $20! If I ever come back to Whitehorse and crave sushi this is the place I'll come to!

Yelp
We were really surprised to see an actual Japanese restaurant in Whitehorse. The service was friendly, and the food was delicious. It was definitely the best meal during our 5000 mile road trip to the Arctic Ocean.

This is my to go place. Love the mango roll, and the sesame ice cream. I always come with my family. The services here is awesome, definitely worth every penny.

Yelp
Update: been here a few more times since my first review. We have been enjoying the sushi much more. Probably some of the best in the city.

Yelp
Best sushi place in town, and there are a lot. They have great agedashi tofu, and my favourite Futo Maki roll. I always judge a sushi place by how these two are! I have not tried their hot menu. I love their seating booths, it's a total bonus for this place!

Yelp
My husband are I arrived in Whitehorse after two months in Japan. What we miss most about Japan, besides the people, is the food. We're over the moon to have found an excellent Japanese restaurant here in Whitehorse. Even our server was Japanese. Looking forward to our next dinner. Arigatōgozaimashita Asahiya!

Yelp
Pleasant place to go, food is decent, but the kitchen/sushi is painfully slow and some of us were done eating before the last of us even got our food. This is not my first choice for sushi in Whitehorse, but neither is it my last choice.
