Where to Stay in Tokyo When You Visit in 2025

"I found this hotel to be a nice, luxurious base in Asakusa with a huge gym, laundry room, an upscale Japanese restaurant, and even a cigar bar; although the 487 rooms are on the smaller side, they make up for it with very comfortable beds." - Matthew Kepnes

I would've given 5 star if it wasn't for the wifi issue. I stayed here for 5 consecutive days but I couldn't use the internet at all. The connection was so slow that I couldn't load anything. Otherwise, everthing was perfect. The location is really convenient to go anywhere (in Tokyo). It takes like 10 min of walking to the Asakusa temple (Senso-Ji) and the nightlife nearby is another highlight worth mentioning. Lots of restaurants/activities are within the circumference of 10 min walking. Of course, we can't set too high expectations for roominess of a hotel in the downtown of Tokyo. But the coziness and modernity of the room satisfy me enough.

The hotel is in a great location, the lobby is very nice, and the staff is great. The room quality is kind of average and I don’t think is accurately priced. I left a lower star hotel to stay here in pursuit of views & more space but ended up with a very small difference in size. The rooms are also a little old and could be renovated. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again because of the room quality/price disconnect when local 2/3 stars are priced considerably cheaper with a near equal amount of space.

I really wanted to love this hotel, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The property was under construction during my stay, and there was no prior communication about it, which made the experience quite unpleasant.|Additionally, the pool and fitness center are for members only, which was not clearly stated when booking. It felt misleading and frustrating to find out only after check-in.|The only positives were the amazing view and the great location, just steps away from the beautiful Asakusa temples and the old Tokyo charm. However, the hotel itself seems to cater mostly to Asian tour groups and local travelers — if you’re a Western traveler looking for comfort and transparency, I’d suggest considering another property.|Overall, the location and views couldn’t make up for the poor communication and limited amenities

The rooms are great. Even though the bedding looks a little outdated the rooms feel nice. The views are AMAZING. Waking up and seeing skytree lit up was magical. My biggest complaint was the actual beds. We stayed on the 11th floor and our mattresses were hard as a rock. It was really bad after spending all day exploring to come back to a bad bed. We were also able to get a crib for the room at no extra cost and it was so nice. There was storage underneath for diapers or luggage and it came with a mini pillow for baby. Other than the beds everything else (location, restaurants, service, and views) was really great.

We had a fantastic stay at Asakusa View Hotel during our trip to Tokyo! The hotel truly lives up to its name — the panoramic views of Tokyo Skytree, Senso-ji Temple, and the city skyline from the upper floors are absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The location is perfect — right in the heart of historic Asakusa, just a short walk from Senso-ji Temple, Nakamise Shopping Street, and multiple train stations (including a direct connection to the Tsukuba Express line). It made exploring the city super easy, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and street food vendors nearby. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious for Tokyo. We appreciated the thoughtful amenities like the air purifier, mini fridge, and large windows. Everything was well-maintained and tidy. The breakfast buffet on the 26th floor was a highlight — delicious variety of both Japanese and Western dishes, and you can enjoy your meal while looking out over the city. The hotel also has several excellent restaurants and even a bakery in the lobby.Staff were friendly, polite, and always willing to help — even with limited English, they went out of their way to make me feel welcome.Overall, I highly recommend Asakusa View Hotel for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and those iconic Tokyo views. It’s a great value and a perfect base for exploring both traditional and modern sides of the city.

The hotel's location was very convenient, and the breakfast had a great variety. However, the building was a bit old, and although we booked a room with a view, the floor we were given was too low, so there was practically no view at all.

The view of the hotel is good. There are also many restaurants nearby, which is good. But the bed and bedclothes that are too old make the feeling bad. Three people stayed for two nights out of necessity. Parking is available in the basement and the space is good, but you have to pay for it. The cost for 2 nights was 117,000Yen. There are many delicious places nearby, including a buffet Chinese restaurant and a Japanese Izakaya. Have a nice trip.

Google
Asakusa View hotel is on my never stay here again list. Turned offf the ac during the day until lots of people complained. Then again at night. They said to open the window. Gave me the key to open it. We have stayed here many times in the past but no more. This is the last time.

Yelp
Stayed here for 5 nights. We were on the 20th floor. Highly recommend has great views of the senso ji temple and skytree tower. Only negative were the beds were small but that's normal for any place in tokyo.

Yelp
We got a room with a view! This place definitely delivered. Spectacular view of the tower, Senso-ji temple with shrines and environs. Very clean room with en suite bathroom. Firm, comfortable beds. Ask for the gadget to open window to get the full Asakusa sight and sounds! Front desk has enough English to get you by. (Download Google Translate). Everyone is kind. Across from check in, there's an ATM so no 7-11/combini trips! This hotel boasts 2 restaurants- on the 27th floor "the Dining" - had two delicious prix fixe courses to choose from as well as ala carte Chinese; the 26th floor "Musashi" is an all day buffet. Musashi serves breakfast in the morning and a dinner buffet. There's a bakery offering baguettes and other yummy baked goods! I can't say enough of the hotel's excellent food scene. One more thing, location is central to the sites. Very walkable and way less crowded than Shibuya Scramble Crossing! Lol!

Yelp
There's a limousine bus stop here at this hotel to take you to haneda or narita airport. They allow 2 bags check in only. They also hold your bags the night before so if you got bags bring them the night before.

Yelp
I'm giving this hotel 5 stars, I think it should be 4 but the associates were just so nice that they deserve the 5 stars. The location was perfect and the view was incredible. You can get to the Senso ji temple within a 5-10 minute walk. There's a BUNCH of restaurant around the hotel and we tried eating at all of them since they were much cheaper than others around Tokyo. There's also a super market right next door, where we got our late night snacks. The room was a bit small, I got the Deluxe semi double bed with sky tree view. The room had a lot of amenities that you could use. The bathroom had a weird funky smell that you get used to after a while. Ps. If you take the key out at night it will turn off all the lights and therefore nothing will charge. What I did was I unplugged the light and turned off the lights with the buttons on the bed that way my stuff could charge all night. We were not allowed to floor 28 because it was for members only, same goes for the gym.

Yelp
Our non-smoking room had lots of cigarette smoke drifting in through the ventilation system whenever neighbors would smoke, it was very irritating and made it hard to enjoy the room and made it tough for me to sleep. We could tell almost instantly when a neighbor would start smoking... Other than that, it was a nice place. Good view. Close to temples, shrines, shopping, market, several transit stations and train lines. Near zoos and museums. Not far from Skytree. Hotel was nice and clean, staff was friendly. Restaurants and bar were overpriced - you have better luck off-site, there are a lot of options. Overall great but minus one point for the bad cigarette smoke coming through our ventilation.

Yelp
Large hotel. A little dated. Check-in took longer than it should have. They were understaffed, inefficient, and not all that friendly. The concierge who held our bags for us at checkout and who sold us our airport shuttle tickets was extremely pleasant despite the language barrier. He was a gem. Our room was on the 12th floor with a view of Tokyo Tower. Definite signs of wear and tear (could use a repaint and furniture upgrade), and the shower seemed to have only two settings: hot or hotter. Free wifi was slooooooow. But it did the trick for us for a few nights. We didn't spend much time in our room anyway. Very easy to reach by train - about 10 minute walk to Tawaramashi or Asakusa Station, and only 2 minutes if you take the Tsukuba Express which drops you pretty much right across the street from the hotel. We stopped each morning at the bakery in the lobby to grab a tasty snack for the road. There's also a grocery store next door which is very convenient. Recommend eating at Sometaro nearby for okonomiyaki.

Yelp
Stayed two nights in the hotel. At check-in I asked nicely if I could have a room with a view -- they kindly upgraded me to a view of the Tokyo Skytree. The room was cozy and well-stocked with a kettle, tea, slippers, robe, towels, shower soaps, room freshener spray, and complementary bottles of water. Everything was clean but the bathroom did smell a bit like musky shower curtain. The tub was nice and deep which made for a great bath soak. The complementary breakfast buffet was a good mix of Western and Japanese good with a vast choice of hot and cold drinks. Each time I was seated with a lovely view of the Tokyo Skytree. They allowed me to leave my bag with the bell staff on my last day as I had a later flight. Great service, in a great neighbour for exploring (Sensoji, Nakamise, etc.), across the street from Asakusa Station). I would stay here again!

Yelp
This was my first trip to Tokyo. My brother was in charge of planning the trip and he decided to book this hotel. Like many of the reviewers said, the hotel was nice inside and out but the rooms were a little dated. My room came with three twin beds because I had to bunk with my parents. While my brother got another room and stayed with his family. The furniture were modern. The bedding was dated. The room could've used a good dusting and a fresh coat of paint. The view was excellent. The bathroom was modern and clean but small. There was a bidet with the toilet. I never used a bidet until my recent trip. That was an adventure in itself. We didn't eat inside the hotel or use any of the other amenities so I cannot comment about that. The people working at the hotel were super nice and polite. I would stay at this hotel again if the price is right. Overall we stayed there for five days and four nights. It was ok and the room served its purpose.

Yelp
Sweet room with an awesome view. Got to get the room with the sky tree view. Room might be on the small side with the amount you spend. But then again this is Tokyo, you're not going to get the same sizes as you get in US.

Yelp
Nice view. Nice room. No concierge. Nobody speaks English. Which I get but honestly not a good place for travelers or business people as there is zero help in the English department. My room was 90 degrees at check in. Heat only in winter.

Yelp
When we got there, our room was super small but our view was very nice. The buffet was super good- a lot of Japanese food. The miso soup and seaweed were delicious. My mom thought it was a nice hotel with the best location but small and expensive.
