Where to Stay in Tokyo When You Visit in 2025

"I found this hotel to be a nice, luxurious base in Asakusa with a huge gym, laundry room, an upscale Japanese restaurant, and even a cigar bar; although the 487 rooms are on the smaller side, they make up for it with very comfortable beds." - Matthew Kepnes

We had a fantastic stay at Asakusa View Hotel during our trip to Tokyo! The hotel truly lives up to its name — the panoramic views of Tokyo Skytree, Senso-ji Temple, and the city skyline from the upper floors are absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The location is perfect — right in the heart of historic Asakusa, just a short walk from Senso-ji Temple, Nakamise Shopping Street, and multiple train stations (including a direct connection to the Tsukuba Express line). It made exploring the city super easy, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and street food vendors nearby. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious for Tokyo. We appreciated the thoughtful amenities like the air purifier, mini fridge, and large windows. Everything was well-maintained and tidy. The breakfast buffet on the 26th floor was a highlight — delicious variety of both Japanese and Western dishes, and you can enjoy your meal while looking out over the city. The hotel also has several excellent restaurants and even a bakery in the lobby.Staff were friendly, polite, and always willing to help — even with limited English, they went out of their way to make me feel welcome.Overall, I highly recommend Asakusa View Hotel for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and those iconic Tokyo views. It’s a great value and a perfect base for exploring both traditional and modern sides of the city.

This is a decent hotel in which to base yourself for what can a tough city. We found it to be an oasis of calm after hectic days traversing Tokyo on public transport. The manager was extremely helpful as were the reception staff. We used a translation app which helped. We used the luggage forwarding service to send our big bags to Kyoto, which worked a treat and saved us the agony of hauling them around at the station to catch the bullet trains, stopping off on the way to Hakone. ||The room was good enough, and contained a safe, although we struggled a bit with the shower taps being outside the bath. There were big groups of Americans staying so the breakfast room was a bit of a zoo. However, you could choose from a wide selection of food, including Western options. There's a restaurant where you can choose a cultural evening on some nights of the week; we also ate at their sister main hotel across the road which was very good. ||This hotel has a very nice, relaxing afternoon lounge, with free hot and soft drinks and sweet delights, complete with a view of the Skytree Tower. There's an even better view of the tower from the top floor bar.||Having reception on the first floor is a bit of an issue as you come in at ground level and you have to take the lift. There are no stairs which meant the lifts could be slow. (I assume there is a staircase for emergencies.)||It's situated very close to Asakusa train station, which we used a fair bit. It's also very near Senso-ji temple, which although rather touristy, as is the surrounding area, it's been developed tastefully and so it's a nice area to stroll around. ||Overall, I'd recommend it.

The view of the hotel is good. There are also many restaurants nearby, which is good. But the bed and bedclothes that are too old make the feeling bad. Three people stayed for two nights out of necessity. Parking is available in the basement and the space is good, but you have to pay for it. The cost for 2 nights was 117,000Yen. There are many delicious places nearby, including a buffet Chinese restaurant and a Japanese Izakaya. Have a nice trip.

The room was very clean and orderly. The view was phenomenal over Sensoji Temple and Tokyo Skytree. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful in assisting us with airplane shuttle accommodations. They were not flexible with room check in times if you arrive earlier than expected. All in all, highly recommend this hotel for a stay.

Great location, across from shopping street, grocery store right next door, few minutes' walk to Sen-soji Temple. Stayed 3 nights at Sky-Tree side room, the view was fantastic. The room was clean and plenty of amenities, but the beds were low quality. The friendly staff members stand by the front doors and elevator to greet and open the door for guests, but the receptionists were moody. Airport Limousine Bus stop right at the front door for airport drop off and pick up, book online cost ¥1,300 per person for HND airport. I took taxi to HND airport cost ¥10,175.

The hotel's location was very convenient, and the breakfast had a great variety. However, the building was a bit old, and although we booked a room with a view, the floor we were given was too low, so there was practically no view at all.

The hotel staff were all super friendly. They had great attitude and it was a pleasure to experience their hospitality that was intertwined with the sweet attitude of the Japanese people. The view of sky tree was great and you could see the sunrise coming up from the left of the sky tree. Overall a worthwhile accommodation experience.

Great friendly staff, excellent location, very spacious room! The beds are incredibly hard and uncomfortable, however. Our other hotels had much better beds and pillows but altogether a good stay here
