We were looking for some banku and okro stew to eat, and after trying several other restaurants, we found some at Asanka Local International. Having patronised another Asanka branch elsewhere previously, I knew their food was to my liking. As seems to be the theme, the decor had pictures of past African leaders and art. The waiter was very friendly and efficient, and the food was very tasty and a good portion size. They did not have the drinks we originally wanted, but we managed to get alternatives. Asanka has a great variety of dishes, and the food did not disappoint. I would definitely recommend them for flavourful Ghanaian local food.

Fantastic time at asanka chop bar. Actually went twice. They have a plethora of menu items and all are very tasty. Wait staff is friendly and food is prompt. Definitely try them out if you want local food!

I wanted to eat something with soup in the evening so settled on them. Well, the food was tasty though just that all soups were free except the okro stew which you have to buy. I ordered for banku and groundnut and it was like home made, the soup was very thick and delicious but spicy 🌶️ 🥵 and the waiter added ginger without confirming if I wanted extra spicy 🙆🏾‍♀️Proteins are also overly priced e.g half piece of fresh salmon is ghc30. I don’t know if it was because I visited the eatery in the evening, but we were virtually dining with mosquitoes 🫢. I’m sure the place should be fine during the day . When I called, they said they close at 7pm, I got there around 6pm and left around 8pm so their timing is quite flexible 😍👍🏽 I would recommend the place for a soup lover

This place is your place to be to enjoy delicious Ghanaian local dishes

The service was good, the waitress spoke in our local dialect which made the conversation go fast and the food as well. The food was okay for me; i couldn't finish all but I don't know if it'll be too small for others. The dj really did well with the music and the aesthetics was on point.

Worst place I’ve been too rude, gave me fish that wasn’t gluten free and the chef was at the back complaining. Yam and palava sauce comes with no avocado, no egg and even with the issues wouldn’t pack away the fish. Customer service isn’t a priority they don’t care if customers are happy and the food isn’t great.

It's a great place to enjoy most local food in the heart of Accra. The atmosphere is serene, neat, and well organised with very good customer service. Price per plate is average
