"Why book? For a stay that feels like you own shorefront property on a dreamy stretch of the Atlantic. Set the scene  My train rolls into the Asbury Park Station at around 10 p.m. on a Friday night—and it was startlingly easy to get here from Penn Station (despite one connection in Long Branch that I could’ve skipped for a direct route had I gotten my act together and absconded from the city just a few hours earlier). My fellow travelers—20-somethings who boarded the connection in Long Branch alongside me, with White Claws in tow and conviviality in abundance—dart through the torrential downpour and into their respective taxis. It's an April evening and the weather is accordingly atrocious—my plans to walk from the station to the hotel are immediately abandoned, and my own Uber driver tells me once he picks me up that twenty years ago I’d have been ill-advised to walk alone through these streets at night. It’s a whole new Asbury Park now; one built up in the past few years by a colorful cast of characters—resilient locals, NYC expats, LGBT players. “Where are you heading?” he asks me before divulging his pre-retirement career as an insurance inspector. “Oh,” he says, upon learning that my destination is the Asbury Ocean Club, “that’s a really nice place. I inspected it myself.” The backstory  With Asbury Park’s reputation as a summer destination rapidly on the rise, real-estate investor iStar saw an opportunity to introduce a Hamptons sensibility to a sliver of land across the street from the boardwalk—luxurious lodgings and fine dining, all done up in the clean modernism that’s pervaded all edges of Long Island’s tip in recent years. Their successful attempt opened in 2019 for just one season, survived 2020, and reopened in 2021. Designed by Anda Andrei, it occupies the fourth floor of a building shared with an affiliated batch of luxury residences (the owners of whom share access to amenities such as the onsite restaurant and bar, ocean-facing pool, spa, and gym).  The rooms  Options are abundant and well-equipped, from the humble standard king to ocean-view suites. I’m staying in what is called a Dune Terrace Loft Suite, meaning my room opens onto a terrace that enjoys a view of a windswept garden of beach grass. The woman from the front desk who has swept me out of the storm and to my accommodations tugs at this glass door once, twice, three times with great gusto as wind racks the glass before assuring me that the doors are hurricane-proof for times like these. I sleep soundly with my curtains as the rain comes down on the beauty just outside. The April showers do not stop all weekend, but I am disinclined to leave the property anyway. I’m effectively in an apartment much nicer than my own, with built-in seating around a breakfast nook in addition to a proper sitting area (a sofa and a loveseat!). I read novels, nap, and dine via room service—all in a robe—only because the onsite restaurant is a grand twenty paces from my door. Food and drink  Asbury Park proper has some incredible dining options, but for fine dining you’d be hard-pressed to find a better option than onsite restaurant The Drawing Room. Past the wood-clad bar and its green-velvet booths—if you merely seek hydration on your way into town, get a dirty martini complete with three blue cheese-stuffed olives—the cocktails are classic and chic, just like The Drawing Room itself. Colorful tiles, low lighting, and deep, deep armchairs make you feel like you’re being entertained in the eminently fashionable home of a particularly expert host.  All of the seafood here comes sourced from Asbury Park’s own Local 130, the highlight being a seared scallop appetizer topped with sage and speck. The burnt caesar—my server notes her own enjoyment of  “warm lettuce” to affirm that I’ve ordered the correct first course—is also excellent. If you’d rather venture into town for dinner, you can still dine on the property for breakfast (the full menu includes a classic plate of eggs, toast, and sausage as well as bagels-with-the-works and a pastry basket) and lunch (sandwiches and salads). All of these options can also be ordered directly to your room—indeed, the room service menu replicates that of the restaurant almost exactly, with the small caveat of included service and gratuity fees.  The spa On the same floor as the gym lies Asbury Ocean Club’s boutique spa—there’s a grand desk for check-in, from which I’m led to one of two treatment rooms for a Beach Boy facial. My technician is soft-spoken and sweet, leading me through some lovely and effective breathing exercises as she massages serums into my face and massages my temples and shoulders. When I express insecurity about the scale of the pores on my nose, she decides to perform extractions that leave them daintier than they were when I arrived—she even shows me a peek at the sebaceous horrors she’s drawn out when I ask. Upon my return to New York, I spend the week lavishing in compliments regarding my complexion—it’s a healthful treatment lush with gentle, sea-inspired salves and such that leaves me accordingly refreshed. I’d advise booking in advance over spontaneity just because the property’s size means they design their schedule and call in staff depending on need—don’t bank on a talented someone waiting in the wings should you stop by on a whim. The neighborhood/area  This is prime Asbury Park—in addition to the boardwalk, just across the street, which beckons with all of the picturesque, bustling pleasures of Jersey Shore splendor, there is a whole community inland with much to explore. Restaurants, nightlife (the legendary Stone Pony and its ceaseless live music programming will please the whole crowd, rowdy gay stalwart Paradise for those with ineffable joie de vivre), restaurants that turn into nightlife when the clock strikes ten (this is Porta, where I enjoy a meatball pizza and a cocktail as I watch the vast dining space transform into a dance floor) are all within walking distance. You may not want or need to venture from the property, but in high summer you would be very wrong not to take advantage of your position. The service Despite their omnipresence, the staff at Asbury Ocean Club never overbears—it’s easy to feel right at home, like a resident rather than a guest. The second you need something, however, rest assured that smiling assistance is on standby for whenever you may need it. For families That many families seem to live in the residences says it all—the shared spaces are populated not only by cosmopolitan chillers but also by multigenerational parties of which well-behaved small children can often be spotted. During the warmer months, kids will find no shortage of entertainment poolside—where their parents have a seriously impressive amount of space for lounging, by the way, it’s a real expanse out there—and, again, that proximity to the boardwalk and beach beyond is a dream for anyone familiar with the punishment of lugging toys and tots towards the sand. Eco effort  You’ll rarely see a single-use plastic onsite, and those that do infiltrate property are biodegradable. Guests receive a complimentary glass water bottle that housekeeping refills during their daily tidy—sheets are changed only on request, and the increasingly common key card-triggered light switch is present here to ensure smart energy consumption. Most exciting and tangible is the aforementioned use of local food sources—fisheries and farms and the like—in the restaurant.  Accessibility Guests have the option of selecting ADA-compliant accessible rooms at booking. Most of the amenities—rooms, pool, restaurant, bar—are located on the same floor, and multiple elevators access the gym and spa facility.  Anything left to mention?  The gym: In addition to a small but well-equipped facility, there’s a big room for the complimentary yoga and HIIT classes that you’ll find on a schedule by the door. At least one of these classes is not to be missed, for this room looks directly out onto the ocean. As you move through your flow you’ll find that there’s no shortage of beauty to take in—in my case, I find myself wrapt by the rough waves between vinyasas. Even in such calamity, beachgoers brave the sand and surfers give it their best go." - Charlie Hobbs

"Many hotels attempt to transport visitors to another place or time, or at least sequester them from the outside world. Ocean Club actually fulfills that promise. Miami? Santorini? Standing on the outdoor terrace among the fully grown pine trees and wisteria-cloaked pergola shading an open-air bar, you’d buy either. Designer Anda Andrei oriented the fourth floor, which contains all 54 guest rooms, to align perfectly with the horizon, giving the illusion that nothing but sea lies just beyond the edge of the pool fringed by minimalist loungers. A colorful bench by artist Dirk Vander Kooij, roving granita cart, and man-made installation of sand dunes fill out the frame. Taking the scene in, it’s hard to believe you’re only an hour and a half from Manhattan."

We loved the duo that played live music in the living room on Friday night June 6th! Staff were very helpful. Food and drinks were divine. Awesome location. The pool area, lounge chairs and view are fantastic! We enjoyed a wonderful family vacation even though it rained everyday!

We just got back from celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary & cannot say enough about the wonderful experience! The hotel & their accommodations were stunning! Our favorite was the pool & patio bar area, but biggest shout out to Skyler!! He was SO AWESOME! His service was so professional, but also personal. Took the time to chat with us, provided amazing recommendations throughout the area due to his knowledge as a whole. You can see the pride & passion he has for your area & hotel, very lucky to have such a good working guy there!! We will definitely be back!

Had a great experience at the hotel. It was just before the start of the season, hotel was full, but you never hear any noise, rooms are very private. Very well appointed rooms with beautiful views from the balcony. Choose ocean views and rooms with balconies if you can. Relaxed vibe, very clean common areas. The spa is also very clean and modern.|The service is great, I used valet and it was seamless. We arrived early and they really went out of the way to accommodate us. Not to mention I received a phone call a few days prior to the trip to make sure they had all our preferences, time of arrival. Turndown service was very nice too and even put a relaxing ocean waves video on tv screen.|Everything was lovely. The hotel does not have much of a lobby at the check in area, but they have great lounge on the 4th floor with a bar and lots of seating.|The hotel is right on the Boardwalk, super close to everything. Downtown is about 10 min walk.|Would recommend to everyone:families, groups of friends for quick getaway or special occasion.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at, in 66 years of extensive traveling. The staff are genuine and helpful. The food is remarkable. The massages were top drawer (although pricey they were worth the money.) The public spaces were comfortable, although the weather was rainy so we never got to use the pool. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 6 stars!

My husband and I stayed at Asbury Ocean Club to celebrate our first anniversary, and everything from the service to the atmosphere to the location were everything we hoped for and more. The decor of the guest rooms is minimal and clean, which was so relaxing. Robes, slippers, and wonderfully scented toiletries gave the room a spa-like feel. Everyone on staff was so kind and helpful. Our room was perfectly positioned; from our private balcony, we were looking right at the historic Wonder Bar, with the ocean in the distance. We only ate/drank a few things in the lounge, but it was all great and reasonably priced. The pool deck looks gorgeous, so we look forward to visiting again and taking advantage when the weather is nicer. This was a true luxury getaway in the heart of Asbury Park!

The staff here are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Their professionalism and warm mannerisms really stood out. Michelle at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and her kindness truly made a difference in our stay. The food was absolutely delicious, and the room was super comfy. It left a great impression and we’re looking forward to coming back.

Our first time staying here. We had a deluxe king, it was incredibly comfy and spacious. Honestly, Asbury Ocean Club is a 4 star that feels like a 5 star. Really nice beer & cocktails, food is the only thing I’d say was “just ok” (especially for the price). Experience was fantastic overall and I especially enjoyed their turn down service when we came back to the room after dinner and a night out. We will definitely be coming back regardless, location is unbeatable

Five stars in Asbury. This place is like LA, NYC but at the beach. And non-pretentious. The rooms were incredible, and the hotel is decorated beautifully. The amenities are top-notch. I could not be more satisfied with my stay. I will be back again and again. Big thanks to George for being the best and for Skyler who made our stay perfect.

Yelp
Great place for a getaway. Customer service is exceptional. Lots of attention to detail at this property. We had a warm, friendly greeting on arrival. Bellhop gave us lots of information on the property and the room. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool, restaurant, lounge, and bar. Everyone was very friendly and we had a really nice, relaxing stay. The spa is for guests & residents only, so you will need to book in advance as they call in the therapists for reservations. Rooms include robes and slippers, a bluetooth speaker, and a tablet for hotel amenities, room service, maintenance. Drinks & food were very good. Lobster benedict at breakfast was a favorite. We really enjoyed our stay. Perfect place for a couples or girls trip. Would stay again.

Yelp
Accommodations 4 stars. Reception. 4 stars. Atmosphere 4 stars. Service in restaurant, eh. Waited an hour for dinner and also for breakfast. The good news (was) we were in no rush, and food was ok once it made the table. Off season. Always love the Jersey Shore though.

Yelp
10 out of 10 Beautiful property, clean, luxurious, and calming. This hotel is a resort experience in New Jersey! The property is amazing but this place really is ran by such a great staff of nice people! From the call to confirm the day before by the front desk person 10 stars. The same person was there at check in and was wonderful. The concierge George 10 stars! A tour and walk to your room to show you the way around the property such a nice touch. The staff at the restaurant 10 stars. Went out of their way to accommodate in every way possible for great service. The food was pricey but excellent. This place is very special but the people on staff really made it that much better than I could have dreamed. Thank you to the staff you all deserve a raise. Also the spa is wonderful. Facial and deep tissue massage on the 3 rd floor 10 stars Shout out the ducks made me smile so much every time I saw them.

Yelp
I stayed at the Asbury Ocean Club Hotel last Thursday for my birthday because all I wanted was to get a tan while reading my book poolside with a pina colada in hand. It was a pretty last minute booking when I found out it was going to be the perfect beach/pool day. And perfect it was! The service was great the whole time. Upon check-in, someone gives you a tour of the hotel (bar, restaurant, pool) while showing you to your room, and someone came around to refill my water at the pool several times. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich at the pool as well, which was good and a little spicy (maybe too spicy for some people). The pool was also empty since most people were still at school/work which was great for me. The only thing was that the room AC had to be reset and our coffee maker wasn't working, so that also got replaced and I couldn't figure out if that one was also broken/we gave up and checked out early the day after anyway. Besides those two things, it was still a nice stay and I'd recommend it to others. You can even see the Stone Pony Summer Stage from the pool deck, and it's also in a great location across the street from the boardwalk.

Yelp
Omg this place is a super hotel and right on the beach. Just took a tour of the place thanks to the wonderful receptionist. Can't wait to book a room and stay!

Yelp
I'm on a journey to find some outstanding food spots here in Asbury Park. Sadly, this is not one of them. The food was ok. Their drinks are very pricey and way too sweet. Hardly drinkable to be honest! I switched to just a shot of tequila (for $25!!!!!) and we ordered some food. A very long time later, our food arrived COLD. Very disappointed in this high end spot. My hanger steak had zero taste and no sauce on it. The heirloom salad was great though! The pork belly sandwich was dry, cold, and didn't have much flavor. Also, there was only one waitress/bartender for the entire pool area. I'll continue the journey...

Yelp
The hotel itself is so beautiful with great views of the beach from the pool deck and the rooms are also gorgeous with solid views. However; the website promotes the hotel as 3 separate dining options; and while they are 3 differently decorated spaces, they all have the same exact menu/including the same menu for lunch and dinner. The menu itself is somewhat all over the place with odd options/combinations of food. The food itself was not good/tasteless and wildly overpriced. For example, the açaí bowl for breakfast had no açaí, and yogurt based. I spent most of the time on the pool deck which was pretty empty even during the week which I enjoyed; yet the service throughout was an absolute joke. Everyone was super nice, but most of the time wait staff would walk right by you and not ask if you needed anything, or take forever to come back with what you asked for. More often then not I walked up to the bartenders for something. We ended up sitting inside at the bar while it rained one day, and there were maybe 4 or 5 bartenders/waitstaff behind the bar (with nobody else sitting except us 2), and it still took a good 15 minutes to get a drink order placed. I waited over an hour just for a menu one day for breakfast. Seems like this could be a great spot, but something is very much lacking in the organization of the service staff. For the amount of money spent here per night, totally not worth it.

Bridget B.

Yelp
We loved our stay here! We came during the off season and fell in love with the location, amenities, furnishings and bar. The hotel staff couldn't be anymore helpful, kind and accommodating. We can't wait to come back this summer.

Tamer F.

Yelp
Exceptional hospitality and outstanding ambience. There is a sense of exclusivity which depending on what you are looking for you may find appealing.

Laurie C.

Yelp
Asbury Ocean Club is absolutely beautiful! Just an hour away from NYC, this was the most perfect little getaway. The hotel is so fresh and new, every single person working there was beyond nice and helpful.

Emily and George T.

Yelp
Fabulous, luxurious, peaceful and beautiful. Comfortable and clean with nice modern rooms and amenities. Beautiful shower and products the bathroom. Super nice and professional staff.

Paul M.

Yelp
You are definitely paying a premium here but if you use everything to your advantage you will be good. The pool and inside areas from day to night feel like the movie ex machina super future primitive with some cool nooks to play chess or have a drink and vibe. Showers and bathrooms were nice. Pretty much laid out at the pool on huge beds with great umbrellas and table service. All while overlooking the ocean. Only heads up would be the parking situation. They dont play in asbury from like 7am til late make sure you pay the meter (which you can do by the phone) THe hotel has parking but thats additional : /

Yelp
Let me begin by saying, the recent May reviews are ALL WRONG. Trust me, I know what you're thinking, I thought the same thing too until my mom (who is the kick ass- protect my daughter queen) spoke to Jason, general manager. When I tell you, he took the time out of his day to speak for almost an hour reassuring my mom I would have a kick ass, incredible 24th birthday... he delivered! It was the most splendid birthday I could of imagined. From the personalized notes in the room to the stunning ocean views, the splendid day beds, pool bar, and incredible staff it was the best out of COVID-19 birthday I could of asked for. His staff was incredibly diligent on cleaning procedures, distancing and accommodating to any auto immune requests. I myself am auto immune, even being vaccinationed I still am fearful but Jason and his staff, put all of it to ease. The first day here I was greeted by such an incredible staff member of the spa ( I forgot her name but her winged eye liner is hard to forget as it was so good) I then had a massage with Lisa, and let me tell you... IT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD. I walked out of the spa feeling like a whole new person. The entire last year I was so scared of spas therefore they took every and I mean EVERY precaution possible. We then made our way down to the bar and were greeted by Maeve and Greg who are such INCREDIBLE individuals. Ryan (bar and service manager) was incredibly spendid as well ensuring everything was running smoothly and that we had an incredible experience Our second day we were greeted by Amanda, Mike and Jeremy for breakfast and mimosas. All of which made our experience that much better. Jason, thank you for being the incredible, one of a kind, kind and loving human you are. Thank you to the incredible staff for making my 24th birthday one to remember. I could of never asked for a better experience, honestly. So lastly, if you're considering a bachelor/ ette/ family vacay/ boys or women's weekend/etc etc etc THIS IS THE PLACE. This is the place to feel special, welcomed, loved and worth it. Do me a favor and come have your own experience to leave a special review YOURSELF. This hotel is ONE OF A KIND. It's not a standard Ritz Carlton, Montage, luxury hotel, it is something incredibly SPECIAL and so far out of there's leagues. Thank you ALL, Asbury Ocean Club Staff for making this birthday getaway one to never forget.

George K.

Yelp
Stayed here over Christmas and was blown away by the rooms, the amenities, and the amazing staff. I can't imagine a better experience anywhere on the Jersey shore, especially during the off-season. The rooms are spacious, clean, and modern. All the charging ports you might need, a modern bluetooth speaker, Netflix and other services on the TV, lovely clean bathroom, a WC (more hotels should have them so someone can wash up while someone else is using the toilet), amazing spaces outside the rooms, like the bar and living area. Room service breakfast was outstanding and there was a vegan-friendly option (two if you count the avocado toast, but skip the egg and make sure there's no butter), plus great lattes with oat milk. The staff at the Ocean Club are pretty special people and it's clear that someone has put a lot of work into getting everyone on the same page. I hope they can maintain their level of service (and happiness) when the summer crowd arrives.

Yelp
Spent a long weekend at the asbury ocean club with 5 other girlfriends. Even before we got there I was impressed with the hotel. The booking process was a breeze. I called their reservation line and the lady (sadly can't remember her name) was a pleasure to talk to. The hotel called 2 days in advance to confirm our reservation and to get details for each room. They also informed us of all the amenities and necessary information for our stay. For example, how much valet parking would be. On the day we arrived, they were able to accommodate early check in for two of the rooms. We were welcomed with a juice and they helped us unpack our car and settle into our room. We were impressed with how beautiful the hotel and rooms were. Clean and comfortable (the bed was heavenly). The hotel was so lovely we basically didn't leave it all weekend. We lounged by the pool, and orders drinks and foods. Not only was the food delicious but the service was amazing. Shoutout to Nikki, Lauren and John from F&b. They helped us with our orders, refilled water and cleared our plates in a timely matter. No to mention helped us get pool towels and move our umbrellas so we were always resting in the shade. The hotel had complimentary pool massages and continental breakfast available. The breakfast was so good! Fluffy pastries, fresh fruit and good coffee. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The male manager was also very friendly. Chris the bellhop helped us get our luggage from our room to our car. Super helpful and friendly. The only complaint I had was the poolside drinks often took a long time to prefer. I would recommend hiring another bartender during peak hours.

Yelp
Not luxury. Rooms are very nice - general staff at hotel is very pleasant. Restaurant service is clueless. room service terrible . Cold, late, didn't bring utensils and took 20 min to get spoons for ice cream they brought that already melted. Odd menu - odd hours . Don't expect to eat breakfast at 11:04 on Sunday because they won't serve you. And oh Also - dont try bringing in some breakfast or outside food- bc they wouldn't allow it. Can only eat in my room- Not in any of the common spaces. Terrible waitstaff/. Clueless to what they are doing. No proper management- don't know how to run a luxury hotel. Stayed here last year- I obviously came back because I like it once... Used to offer breakfast and additional add ons when I stayed last year- guess that ended when they changed management. Also pool is freezing. Obvious they are having financial issues

Yelp
There are several features of this upscale hotel that warrant a 5* rating.... -the valet service is prompt, personable..altho expensive - the staff is competent, related, warm and friendly. service is good. - every part of the facility is clean, clean, clean - the pool area is large with many chaises and lounge beds, sofas and tables The towels and chaise covers are luxurious. The lunch is good...the pool bar good enough but the wines need improving. The piped in music loud. -The concept of the living areas is neat. it is inviting to curl up w a book if that is your gial on a beach vacation. So why only 3 stars? Well, the rooms are quite small and have a space saving but peculiar design with a glass enclosed toilet-sink-shower module occupying about 1/6 of your room's sq footage. The room is well appointed w great towels and even an umbrella in the closet ..but the closet is a half closet, the fridge a mini and that area is dark. There is a queen bed and a small divan style sofa which would accommodate a child; not terribly comfortable as a sofa. Room's 1 chair and similar 2 balcony chairs are deep seated, slung low and challenging to get up from. We had 2 rainy days so the room bothered us a bit. We found the tv difficult to operate but this may be on us. Day 1 check in is 4 pm and check out 11am..a 19 hr day at a very high per diem. The welcome drink, part of the daily resort fee, is a tiny shot glass of mixed fruit juices; a chit for a drink at the bar would be better appreciated. A lot of the views from the room include parking lots. It is a long block and cross road from the beach, not really beach front. No music or entertainment at night.

Erica H.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay here for our anniversary last week. (July 2021) The room was a great size and so well-decorated. The drawing room just inside from the pool was lovely to lounge in with a book and a cup of coffee or a cocktail. Speaking of cocktails, grab one by the gorgeous pool looking out over the ocean and you will start feeling like you won't want to leave. :) We got great massages at the spa too. I definitely plan on staying here again! Thanks to Ryan, Tim, Elise, Lauren, Russ, and the whole team at AOC for making our time here so special.

Davaish S.

Yelp
Amazing hotel and great staff. we spent a long weekend here and loved it. highly suggest it! skip the restaurant thou and enjoy local dining. overall rooms are awesome especially the dune suites. great spot in nj felt like miami. nice spa and massages and gym too!

Mia R.

Yelp
The hotel offers nothing for the amount of money you pay for quality service. They call you prior to your stay to ask if you have any specific dietary restrictions. We told them we are vegan. When we arrived and during our 5 day stay, they didn't provide any vegan food at all. The spa only provides facials and massages, nothing else. The bathrooms aren't private at all. It's only a sheer linen sheet that covers the glass door on all sides. Everyone in the room can see in the shower when someone is showering. The bathroom consistently smelled of sewage throughout the entire stay. I would not recommend this hotel and give it 2 stars. Will not stay here again.

Yelp
Buyer beware. It's to be noted that the hotel is part of the Asbury Ocean Club residences, which means the amenities are shared with residents, and therein lies the rub. Up front, the property itself is very nice, as was the room (we stayed in a deluxe king). The food and drinks, albeit pricey, were good (and on par or better than what we consumed at other venues in the area). Now to the reason for my rating: We were there for a birthday escape, and on the second day we ran into an issue whereby residents of the Club took it upon themselves to "evict" us from our pool deck lounge (including rummaging through and throwing our personal belongings on the floor). We were 100 feet away at the bar area having breakfast, and had not left the pool deck. I approached them and they were not pleasant at all, so I chose not to engage them, and asked management to intervene. When it became clear that the management were not going to be able to handle the situation (and the residents were making a scene) we opted to graciously "fold" to the miscreants so as to not let this ruin the rest of the day. We had the management collect our belongings and we settled on another area of the pool deck. The residents told me that I "was not allowed to reserve" the lounges by hotel policy (again, we were not commandeering the lounge, had never let the pool deck and had been using the lounge for about an hour), yet no policy was visible nor stated. In fact, we witnessed two other guests leave their belongings on their lounges for hours while they went to and came back from the beach. Clearly there was no one to enforce this "policy". The management team tried to make amends by offering a bottle of champagne and comp one night of our stay. Great. Except that when we went to check out, none of this had been arranged and our folio did not reflect any adjustments. We were put in the unfortunate situation of having to ask that they fulfill their offering. In my opinion as a seasoned high-end traveler who has had the occasional challenge while staying at a property, this attempt at service recovery was perfunctory. To add insult to injury, we have reached out to the individuals who offered us their cards for follow-up, and have not received any replies. This unnecessary and unfortunate event soured the trip for us, and it should not have. Other notes - this is a "family friendly" (read: lots of kids running around the pool) property, which was not conducive to the "serenity" touted in the description of the property. I would also say that this is an LGBTQIA-tolerant property, but would not go as far as saying LGBTQIA-friendly (read: this is NOT P-Town)! I really think that management needs to reconcile their offerings to guests with their responsibilities to owners, who in this case were clearly favored.

Yelp
Went on New Year's Eve and spent the night. Beautiful place. Still a bit pricey for comparable. On site restaurant and lounge can do better also. Also very weird having people with luggage walk through the lounge and dining area. People eating most likely don't want to see that constant flow of people walking by with luggage. But it is very beautiful and probably the most top of the line place in the area.

Yelp
I can't say enough about how wonderful Asbury Ocean Club is. We were only there for a mini three day vacation and wish our stay could have been longer. From the minute you arrive, you just know you picked the right place as the staff is so unbelievably helpful. When you check in, the person who checked you in walks you to your room pointing out all of the different amenities offered by the hotel. In our case it was Anthony and he was so very helpful. The rooms are beautiful and spacious....our only complaint is that there are no drawers in the room for your clothes and a tiny closet so we basically lived out of our suitcases. But that was only a minor inconvenience. Breakfast is great and if you get Michelle as your server, you will be in great hands. The pool is reminiscent of being at a luxury resort in the Caribbean. It's phenomenal. I know I probably sound like a relative of the owners but I'm just a happy customer. We can't wait to go back again and hope to get Gio to answer all of our questions again with that big smile on his face. So I guess you catch my drift - WE LOVED OUR STAY!!!

Yelp
Ignore the bad reviews. The rooms were AMAZING, the pool deck was lovely, the pool ice cold and clean, the drinks 10/10 and the food 7.5/10, not groundbreaking but I kept ordering it bc it was convenient at the pool so all good. Our new staycation spot, highly recommend. And great location to walk the boardwalk. They were fully staffed too, so those complaints are def a thing of the past. Also the pool was super relaxing, not a huge party vibe. Not a place for a bach party.. more like parents wanting to get away/babymoon vibe. love love.

Yelp
Went to this hotel for a wedding weekend and although it seemed pricey I was really excited to stay. However, leading into my stay I called to see if I could get an early check in and was told the best they could do was 30 minutes. Even though it wasn't helpful I was still excited. That was short lived... the parking near the hotel is $70-50 a day or you can park at the random lot across the street that is poorly secured. Despite all of that this hotel is gorgeous, however be aware they charge a pretty pricey incidental fee that they don't return in the average 3 business days depending on your payment method. I was not informed that it would take two weeks for me to get my money back until I inquired about the status of the refund a week after staying in the hotel. It's now been the two week period and I'm still waiting, but they can't even tell me when they released it and are asking me to call my bank. This is ridiculous and honestly it's not worth ever doing this again.

Yelp
My husband and I had a babymoon scheduled for a few days here next week which we have had scheduled for months. They left us a voicemail with 10 days notice that our reservations had been cancelled because they wouldn't be open in time. They said they *might* be able to accommodate us at a sister hotel that wasn't on the beach. The staff member I spoke with was extremely rude and unapologetic. For $700/night you expect much better service or at least a decent apology. We found a similar resort with all of the same amenities for half the price in Long Branch. Happy we didn't give our money to a business that doesn't care about their customers.

Yelp
Beautiful new building. The appearance is 5 stars. The pool deck is really nice with a great view of Asbury and the ocean. I really wanted to love this hotel. The deluxe king room is quite nice. The service is a barely a C. They should double their staff. The poor service is really disappointing. They don't clean the rooms daily, but I got see the cleaning staff sitting on the floor in the hallway. Even though the wait staff are very friendly it can take a very long time for them to: show up, bring menus, take your order, bring food, and bring the check. It's really inconsistent. I spent an hour waiting for three sodas and three small plates. Another 30 minutes waiting for the check. I had to get up and look for them more than once to close out my bill. The food quality is also inconsistent. One day the pork belly is a really nice cut, the next day it's all fat and nearly inedible. I wish the menu overall was better, and it's limited. The hangar steak for example is just a small steak sandwich with no sides. It seems that the management in general is not really up to the task to run the service in this hotel. If you do stay here, just avoid the service and go out to eat. For the price of the hotel, it's just barely worth it. I wanted to come back, no I'm not sure I want to.

Yelp
5 Star Luxury Experience! The rooms are absolutely beautiful. High ceilings, floor to ceiling wrap around glass windows. Large balconies overlooking the ocean. Huge modern pool deck also overlooking the ocean. Swanky bar with eclectic cocktails and great bartenders. Amazing food! Felt like I was in Manhattan in a new luxury building with all the amenities but had the peaceful ocean view. Sylvie and Ryan along with all the staff made this an incredible experience. Unforgettable!

Yelp
If I could give the Asbury Ocean Club Hotel 10/5 stars, I would. Our entire stay was exceptional and the staff truly made the trip one for the books! We arrived late on 9/8 after discovering that my luggage was lost in Dallas. Defeated after a 15+ hour trip from California, we were immediately greeted with an extremely kind front desk. We were personally walked through the grounds by one of the concierge and greeted with a bottle of champagne in our room wishing us a happy anniversary. After settling in for a minute, we decided to grab a bite at the hotel lobby bar, where we met Bri (bartender) and Ryan (hospitality manager). Both were beyond hospitable and extremely attentive on every single encounter we had with them over the course of our stay. Kieren was the barback/busser that evening and on several other evenings and was genuinely caring and asked about my luggage on several occasions. The hotel as a whole even went as far as calling surrounding hotels to let them know to keep an eye out for my luggage "just in case". Fortunately I did get my luggage after a long and stressful 24 hours but had it not been for the kindness and the hospitality of everyone at the hotel I would not have been able to keep my cool. If my husband and I were to ever move to a new location, we would absolutely without a shadow of a doubt move and purchase a place at the Asbury Ocean Club Residences. Not only for the gorgeous views but also because of the people that make the place worth every penny.

Yelp
Service and food/drink quality is sub-par at best especially when you're paying over $1,000 per night. Many of times I had to go up to the bar to get service after sitting at a table for 15 minutes plus. They messed up our order several times we ordered the same thing every day and it was cooked differently every time. Also, when I booked with Amex concierge, they assured me the hotel would have complimentary champagne for my wife's birthday which there was not I called down they said they would send up right away, so we waited 4o minutes before they called to say they would not, but I can purchase a bottle starting at $109? The next morning, we texted the valet for our car to be brought up and after 30 minutes with no alert the car was ready the car was sitting there the whole time. This made us late for our reservation. Again, not what you would expect at $70 per day for valet. Very disappointed with my stay, way overpriced, and I feel Like this trip let my family down. I will never return

Yelp
I have never met such arrogant, irritable, unprofessional concierge at such a high end facility in my life. I've visited multiple suites, resorts, hotels, you name it, and Terry bu far was the most God awful employee I have ever encountered. Personally watched her rudeness affect many guests in one day. Will be calling in, and I advised the others to do so as well! Such a shame.

Yelp
Made a reservation for a weekend on the Wednesday night late at 11pm to arrive the next day for a 3 night stay. Next morning by 9am, I realized I had a previous client event over the weekend that I could not miss. I called the hotel to cancel the reservation fully expecting some flexibility with the one night cancellation fee they usually charge for cancelling within 7 days of arrival. Most hotels have a more flexible cancellation policy altogether, but I digress. I had expectations that given the cancellation was happening within a 10 hour window (of which the window were sleeping hours), they would be willing to have some flexibility and cancel the reservation without penalty. Talked to two other people before getting to the manager, a cold robotic human, Ryan. He kept repeating the policy to me over and over. I get the reason for policies, but what I don't get is the inflexibility and they are losing a future loyal customer to collect that one night stay. I will NOT be back - and they will not receive another dollar from my wallet. Nor will my family and friends, and work colleagues. And I will continually share this story. Was it really worth it to keep my one night pay relative to their "policy" to lose that much future business? The property certainly is not a 4 or 5 star experience, and their other property, The Asbury Hotel, is not well maintained, and extremely dirty with horrible customer service. Too bad. Could have been a really nice experience where I would have been so grateful and loyal as a guest to return many times.

Yelp
Just came back from a wonderful stay at this hotel. Customer service is exceptional. Food was delicious, room was was clean and beautifully appointed. We arrived early for check in. We were immediately shown to the pool deck and poured a glass of wine and champagne while we waited for our room. Check out was at 11am, but you are invited to stay and use the pool for as long as you would like. The pool deck is the highlight of the hotel. Spectacular views of Asbury, many varieties of comfortable lounges and chairs, beautifully decorated and landscaped. There is actually no reason to leave this hotel while you are visiting. You can eat anywhere, at anytime. We ate all our meals at the pool or the living room. Room service is available 24x7. The continental breakfast that came with our room was fresh and delicious. Absolutely nothing bad to say. I felt like I was on vacation, and I was less than 2 hours from my house. Can not wait to go back.

Yelp
Spent a couple of nights there for a quick getaway. Let me simply say...WOW! And that would be wow as in the place is awesome. Staff is awesome, very attentive and friendly. The place is gorgeous, from the room (partial ocean view), to the common areas inside to the incredible, big outdoor pool deck. And by the way, the pool deck was so awesome that we stayed there instead of going across the street to the beach. Just lounged around all day, got some drinks from the outdoor bar and ordered some delicious snacks. Great way to spend any sunny day. There is no restaurant yet, the place is only open a month and they're still developing, but the food we ordered by the pool and for breakfast (which we had in the room out on the spacious balcony) was amazing. And there are plenty of places to eat inside and outside on the deck or around the pool if you want to order there. The place is on the pricey side, but you really get what you pay for and I didn't mind paying for what I got which was a couple days of luxury. Only complaint (to nitpick a little) was the charge for valet parking. I get that they have to charge, but could give a little break. But that's my only (minor) knock. Will definitely go back again and can't wait to see it when the other amenities (restaurant, spa, gym) are done. If your looking to splurge for a really nice getaway, and a little luxury, check this place out.
