On the Grid : Ascend Amphitheater

"Ascend Amphitheater is an open-air music venue that is located along the Cumberland River inside the Metro Riverfront Park. The Nashville high rises tower over the stage and emit an electric scene during the summer night shows. Come for the tunes, stay for the views, and spend the night out downtown for a perfect summer getaway. There is plenty of grass area to sprawl out and relax while also jamming out with your favorite band. It is a delightful alternative to indoor arena rockin. Check out the upcoming concert and events here!" - ST8MNT

This delightful outdoor venue was perfect for a concert. No worries about reverberating acoustics to ruin the sound quality of wonderful musicians! The weather was fantastic during our visit in mid-October, though I suppose weather can be a wild card at any outdoor facility. The assigned seating was comfortable. Those taking in the show on the unassigned lawn area seemed to enjoy it as well. The stage was large enough to accommodate the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and more. Nice job Music City!

Great location. It was very beautiful to be surrounded by the Nashville scenery. Space and sound was spot on. Was lucky enough to see Teddy Swims there for the first visit. What an incredible experience! Lawn seats were the best place for geriatric dancing 🤣 Exactly where I was... living my best life... swimming in losing control with TS

Top venue in Nashville, just saw Alison Krauss & Union Station there last night and was very impressed! Not too big, so great views from all spots! Quick entry, lots of concession/drink stands so no wait there either! Clean toilets & loved the ability to rent chairs and sit on the hill, we don't do that in Australia but we should 👍 If your favors music is playing at the Ascend Amphitheatre...and it's not going to rain...definitely go and see them there!

Ascend is a great open air concert venue in downtown Nashville. Heat is a consideration when planning a concert here. Last night with Teddy Swims was amazing weather!! Drinks and snacks are good. Sound is phenomenal. Seats are really good and they have pit, seats and lawn seating for a variety of price points.

This is the best venue in Nashville. Great view of the city and the theater itself is new and beautiful. Our first time there was this summer at the Toto Men At Work and Christopher Cross show. What an amazing experience. Can't wait to go back and see some more live music.

I had the best time at Ascend Amphitheater with my teenage daughter seeing Teddy Swims! The sunset views over the river and city skyline were gorgeous, and the whole night just felt special. The sound was excellent, and even though we were in the grass seats, we didn’t feel like we were missing out on anything. It’s such a great venue—laid back, beautiful, and the perfect place to enjoy live music.

First time visitor. Since the 80’s have attended Pink Floyd concerts. Overseas and stateside. To include with my son. His first concert was PF, age one. We’ve seen Britt Floyd their cover band. And, Roger Waters. We went to this event for Mother’s Day. It did not disappoint. The venue was easy to access. My son’s familiar with where to park and how to get here, so it went smoothly. We had zero issues getting in. We arrived early enough that it wasn’t busy. Easy to get into the gate when they finally opened, on time. From using the rest room to buying snacks felt this venue was well managed. Being from NYC, having attended events overseas as large as Monsters or Rock and Pink Floyd was tens of thousands in an open air venue. For comparison, this was a well run event, imo. For the entertainment, my son and me were very pleasantly surprised. The singers were fantastic. Band well done everyone. The musicians who did solo’s, spot on. We had an amazing time. I would attend an event at this venue again. Having scrolled the negative reviews for contexts note we had none of those problems. Our experience was as good as it gets, imo.

This is a very small intimate venue. If you purchase seats there's not a bad seat in the house they're all really close to the stage. And there's plenty of lawn seating also. You can also rent chairs blankets or a cabana. It's easy to get to the bars in the bathrooms. Easy in and easy out as far as coming in and leaving the venue.
