We stayed at Hidden Valley Resort on June 25–26 for one night in a standard room. The place was very clean and well-maintained. Throughout the day, we saw staff actively keeping the resort tidy, which was great to see. The check-in experience, however, was a bit disappointing. The staff member who helped us was not welcoming and offered no guidance or explanation about the resort or surrounding area. That was the only downside. On the positive side, everything else was fantastic. The resort had amazing family activities like pedal boating, kayaking, a beach for swimming, and lots of fun games. Parking was convenient, even for seniors—we were traveling with elders, and they found it very accessible. We did not eat at the restaurant, but it looked clean and well-kept. Compared to bigger resorts, this one felt more peaceful and better managed overall. Would definitely go back—next time for a longer stay, maybe even in winter to explore the town more and enjoy seasonal activities!

Staff at this hotel were very helpful. Checkin was quick and the staff member took the time to fully answer our questions and provide information about the amenities. We had dinner at Birches and the food was delicious and the service great. The next morning we had breakfast there. The buffet was amazing with lots of healthy options. The room was clean and comfortable. There were two tour groups there at the time and the hotel as a result was quite busy. However the room was very quiet and we had a restful night's sleep. Thank you to Lawrence at reception. I left my camera in the room after checking out and after contacting the hotel later he retrieved it and held it at reception until I was able to return to the hotel. I would highly recommend this resort.

Every single team member we encountered treated us with genuine kindness, and you can tell they take real pride in what they do. I wish I could name them all! Their service made our trip feel luxurious, relaxing, and memorable in the best way. Lawrence took good care of us from arrival to departure! The room was super clean and well maintained. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Food quality is superb with many ample choices and caters for people who are looking for gluten free or vegetarian options. The pools and beach were beautiful! I can’t say enough about the entertainment employees! Kids were very happy with activities. The whole place is spotless, with the grounds staff, maintenance, and cleaners working tirelessly to keep it that way. We will be back at this resort in October this year and are very much looking forward to it and meeting up with all the friendly staff again.

For the value, it’s a great place to stay at a decent budget. Great, great service all around! The restaurant was excellent with a multitude of choices. Lots of things to do at the beach. It’s really fun, including kayaking, volleyball, etc. The pools and hot tubs are clean, with very frequent visits by maintenance and housekeeping to make sure chemical are checked and all around is clean. Great masseuse on site. Laila was a good therapist. All around great resort! We never even set foot off the resort, and we will definitely return!!

Very well-run resort that is great for families. Staff and the facilities are excellent, and they are Dog friendly! From the moment we walked in everyone was very pleasant. The check-in process was pretty simple. Angie at the front desk was very pleasant, friendly & professional. The room was spotless, spacious and the had perfect temperature- no issues with AC! It was really hot in Huntsville. Food choice was incredible at breakfast and for dinner the food was high quality. The entire hotel smelled amazing and was very clean. Jazen was my massage therapist, and he was very good. Pools, beach, kayaks, canoes you name it all. Everything was included in their resort fee. Will definitely be going back!

Do not be deceived by the pictures on the website. Our recent stay at this resort was less than impressive. Upon arrival, parking was abysmal only to walk into a lobby that was unkept. The flooring in our room was separating and had many gaping spaces in the laminate. The bathroom doors were filthy, the soap dispensers looked like they had been ripped off the walls and replaced randomly. The shower was a but a small trickle of water or a slight spray at best. You could hear EVERY word from the guests in the adjoining room. The pool and hot tub area are very dated and lack of maintenance is taking over as there is plenty of were visible rust. The pool area was closed promptly at 9:00 pm - the doors had to be manually locked with a padlock. Although it prevented anyone from entering, it did seem odd and not a very "polished resort" feel to it. After paying a hefty price to stay for one evening, we hoped the breakfast would be at least something to look forward too. Sadly, slimey eggs, over cooked pancakes and watered down coffee was the offering. I suppose that's what you get for $16 a person at a buffet? Our walk outside also noted that the grounds are also suffering from lack of attention. Careful if you're walking up the stairway towards the decks off the Birches restaurant, it slopes to the left and the boards are soft. The only two things going for this resort is that it's in Huntsville area and that the staff are pleasant.

Excellent resort. Helpful staff who went above and beyond. Beautiful pools and great beach. I am grateful for the entertainment staff especially Jill as she always made me laugh during the time with the kid’s activity. The Birches restaurant was brilliant. We really enjoyed the food and found the service good in breakfast as well as during dinner. Housekeeping was really good even though there daily service although the times were very variable. It’s a quick cleanup and bed making but that’s all we needed. This resort is overall is a great value for the price!! We would highly recommend staying here and we look forward to our next stay.

It was nice. The room was quiet at night. In the day it sounded like a helicopter was landing. I found out we were next to the laundry room. The bathroom was half the size as my sister in laws room who was on the 2nd floor. We paid the same price. I booked this last April for a wedding we were going to. The food was good in the restaurant. I was surprised the restaurant was not open for lunch.

Yelp
This place was the most amazing shithole I have ever stayed in. The only thing resort about it was restoring to alcohol in order to get through the weekend. Norman Bates would not have stayed there. I walked into their crappy entrance and noticed immediately the place needs to buy a broom and sweep up. Once inside the lobby I felt a quantum leap into the 1980s....um 40 years of decor no no's that was a no back in 1980. The checkin lady was nice but had zero hospitality training. But the concierge was clueless... oh wait there wasn't one. My favorite part was Lake E.coli - I mean it was late September and already cold so I didn't need to be greeted on checkin with a big sign stating the lake was closed for recreation because of Escherichia coli that s a Gram-negative, facultative anaerobic, rod-shaped, coliform bacterium of the genus Escherichia that is commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded organisms. Credit Wikipedia If you dare to stay bring your own booze, as the bar is only open from 5-9p. And you are going to need a lot of booze, some gummies, and maybe a few vicadin for good measure because no early checkin. They are hard core on 4pm checkin which in hindsight is fine because you will want to spend the least amount of time in the dingy - hey was there a sale on shit brown and peestain tan paint, craphole of a room. So because I could get in my room I took a stroll on the resort grounds - well that was a mistake, see pics. I used the gym which was nicely equipped and even had the smell of dead jimmy hoffa - awe the ambience. The lake was pretty to look at.... Fredo your my older brother and I love you, now you go swimming first and let me know how it works out. So not a great stay but boy did we have some laughs anyway. Ps the room photos are misleading because there is no scratch and sniff on them to enjoy the smell of death warmed over. Thank you Canada for legal weed as that was helpful too.

Yelp
Great staff, great spot, beautiful beach and so many water toys and they have life jackets. They were amazing about all the COVID policies and we felt really safe with the way they had it all set up. We will definitely be going back again. The fishing was great the kids caught tons of them right off the dock. Unfortunately the fire ban was in affect so we couldn't do a fire but they have a great fire pit.

Yelp
i get that the photos online are meant to lire you in. Did they ever!!!!!! What an absolute %#it hole on the inside!!!! I should have stayed at one of the cheaper places around. outdated, stained carpet, paint falling off ceiling. Just so run down and for $300 a night!!!! Never again.

Yelp
Absolutely would not recommend. Extra unnecessary fees, lamp did not work, had to harass the front desk to do something so we could charge our phones and they brought an extension cord finally, which while it worked, should not been an issue for the price. Front desk staff needed to be hounded about pool booking and just did not follow through. Room was not properly cleaned when we arrived with last persons trash in cans and sugar all over the remote? Spend the money elsewhere.

Yelp
It looks cute from the outside then after seeing my room it was a mess it looked very rundown the walls were peeling and the tub looked stained also the curtain was more stained than my teeth which scared me dinner at the birch was ok after that I went to the indoor heated pool only one of those were true it was like stepping into the water around Antarctica the hot tub was nice though haven't tried the sauna yet the mirror was rusting when we got here it was like a ghost town no one anywhere I still haven't seen a single person in the time I've been here also the rules are lengthy

Yelp
Ummm... okay. Just the down and dirty: 1. They found a really good photographer and set designer to take the photos for their site, cause what you see on the site AIN'T what you getting when you get there. The place isn't necessarily dirty, it's just run down. 2. Maybe it was cause we went during the off-season, but the lack of activity around the place was a little depressing. However, that allowed for service to be particularly efficient. 3. The in-suite fireplace and complimentary log are a nice touch. 4. Don't tell your guests you are going to give them a gift card for Tim Horton's for breakfast because the power is out in the city, and then give a family of five a $5.00 gift card. Who cares about this one card per room rule? It's insulting and quite frankly, we'd rather you not have mentioned said compensation at all. I hate to say this, cause I'm all about supporting the underdogs (and trust me, next to their topdog neighbour Deerhurst, they are about as under as under can be), but if you're heading to Huntsville during the off-season, try and avoid this place. It's a little depressing. However, maybe once the ski season picks up, the bustle could add some warmth here.

Yelp
Came in the summer at the end of July and I have to say the views from this resort are beautiful! The rooms are decent and the beach area is perfect for young kids! Stayed for three days wed-Friday and wasn't that busy while we were here. We ate at the restaurant both nights. The food was good but service was a Little slow! The second night we ate there it was busy and service took forever! Not the waitress fault but the cooks. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and gave us a free appetizer for our wait. The walls in the rooms are thin as we could hear our neighbours and ppl in the hall but the rooms were clean and suitable for a family of four. The one area I feel needs improvement is the kids stuff ex. Game room, ping pong table and equipment used for activities. But we had a good stay and the sandy beach area for the kids and row boast was perfect!Great spot to take some beautiful pictures.

Yelp
We got married at Hidden Valley and many people said it was the best wedding they had ever been to, thanks in large part to the wonderful staff at Hidden Valley. From the live band in the pub and the beach campfire the night before, to the wonderful ceremony that was moved indoors due to the weather, followed by the amazing reception with a live reggae band, it made it an event to remember. If you get married there, Kyna is the best person I could imagine working with to make your wedding day the best experience possible.

Yelp
Not the place to stay if you are a business traveler. I found it very noisy, the walls are paper thin. I could hear the guy next door peeing! It could do with a bit of a makeover in my view. Wifi was adequate although I did have some problems initially. Restaurant menu was unexciting, although I have to say I enjoyed the meat lovers pizza. It was okay but I wouldn't stay there again.
