Outstanding Service from Leila – A True Professional! I’d like to recognize Leila, a housekeeping staff member, for her exceptional service. When I requested room assistance, she responded with a warm, friendly smile and a calm, professional demeanor. Her positive attitude and discreet yet cheerful presence truly reflect her strong work ethic. Leila’s dedication to hospitality made a lasting impression—thank you for your excellent service! Keep up the great work.

We enjoyed the location of this hotel and the amenities but the hotel itself is below average in terms of what you pay for. The ac was not working during a hot July stay and they do not have an elevator so it makes it quite difficult to get your luggage upstairs! We enjoyed the pool and the children’s activities like pool toys and some hand out popcorn but otherwise, the entire ac system in this hotel is not functioning well at all.

The location of this resort is why I chose this one and I'm glad that I did. The hotel is a little too outdated because there is no elevator which makes it totally inaccessible for people using wheelchairs. The exhaust fan in the bathroom wasn't working. Also there was no soap in the washroom close to the lobby. The body wash containers in the pool shower area were also empty. Breakfast isn't included in the room price for which you have to pay $16+tax per person. Positive aspects: There are a lot of activities that you can do during your stay which includes indoor & outdoor pool with Jacuzzi and sauna (they provide towels at the front desk). There is a beach access to the lake where you can use paddle boats, kayaks and canoe for which they provide life jackets but you have to pay $30 per room to avail these. There are beach toys for kids to use and also volleyball net on the beach. You can also use their tennis court and basketball court. Overall good amenities for the price in that location as compared to other options around it. But there is definitely room for improvement in my opinion.

Luckily I saw the previous reviews ahead of time, so I had low expectations. Can definitely see the effort from the staff, and the activities for young kids were nice. When napping the kids, the work being done was most inconvenient for timing with the drilling and whatever else sounds were happening. Next time a notice to rooms that may be affected would be ideal so we can plan accordingly. The wheelchair parking and entrance doors are the most accessible you will get. Good luck navigating the grounds afterwards. We managed with a stroller, those stairs helped with the workout. The towel situation was a bit of a turn off. Reception can get swamped, thus delaying guests from getting towels. Twice I visited to get a towel, first prior to going for a swim with toddler which was unsuccessful due to wait time, second after the swim dripping wet, and the wait was very long with only one person at the desk. Despite all the negatives, the stay was enjoyable, and the reception, dining and cleaning staff were professional and friendly. There is certainly potential for the price to reflect the experience that can be had, just didn’t this time around.

Most people come here to complain about the rooms or the facility being run down. Fine, to each is own. But this is not listed as a 5-star resort, nor is it priced as such. The major selling feature here is the view, the lake, the ample water activities and private beach. The family atmosphere is what I like best about this resort. They have very lovely people working here, arranging children's activities and do a great job involving the children as well. The water is clean and quite shallow for some distance which is really nice for kids and waders. It isn't far off the beaten path which is also nice if you want to go anywhere else. Deerhurst is around the corner if you want to spend 2 or 3x as much for the same lake and view. If not, Hidden Valley is a nice option.

This is at best a 2.5 star property. The front staff is very nice and try to do their best but the resort in itself leaves a lot to be desired. I booked a room for 3 with a lakefront view, 1 king and 1 sofa bed. On checking in found that the sofa was not a sofa bed so only 2 people could sleep in the room. Was then given an option to downgrade to a 2 queen with no lakefront view with free breakfast. There was no other option given - take it or leave it. Since we had 3 people to sleep had no choice but to accept. The room was a linked room where you could hear everything from the other room, so you slept when the other room members decided to sleep which was later than us. Property is in dire need of repairs and upgrades and everything is very dated. Facilities like kayak rentals are good though you pay a $30 per day resort fees to use them. No elevators, no microwave in room. Breakfast is average and not worth the $16 + tax per person they charge extra, it should be included in the room. Outdoor pool was dirty. Didn’t try the indoor pool or hot water bath. Pros: staff is excellent and welcoming Lake is relaxing Restaurant inside property is a a plus, you don’t need to go to huntsville to grab a bite.

Came here recently for a wedding and had a great time. The place isn’t super fancy, but it had everything we needed and the vibe was just right.||Check-in was probably the easiest I’ve ever had. In and out in a couple minutes. Staff were friendly and helpful the whole time.||There’s an indoor and outdoor pool, plus a hot tub. They had some water toys available and a staff member there to help if you needed anything, which was nice and easy.||They do a cheap breakfast in the mornings – didn’t try it, but it’s there if you want it.||Bar service was solid. No long waits, and the drinks were on point.||The wedding itself went really well. The setup was simple but worked great, and the whole place just had this relaxed, no-stress vibe that made the weekend fun.||Would definitely go back for another event.

Not at all worth the price. Booked a lake front room, just saw trees and the games court. Why would you even name it as a lake front view room and charge extra? Not many options in dinner. Activities are not worth, I could only see two paddle boats nothing else. Only the drive to the hotel is good. Not worth the hype.

Yelp
This place was the most amazing shithole I have ever stayed in. The only thing resort about it was restoring to alcohol in order to get through the weekend. Norman Bates would not have stayed there. I walked into their crappy entrance and noticed immediately the place needs to buy a broom and sweep up. Once inside the lobby I felt a quantum leap into the 1980s....um 40 years of decor no no's that was a no back in 1980. The checkin lady was nice but had zero hospitality training. But the concierge was clueless... oh wait there wasn't one. My favorite part was Lake E.coli - I mean it was late September and already cold so I didn't need to be greeted on checkin with a big sign stating the lake was closed for recreation because of Escherichia coli that s a Gram-negative, facultative anaerobic, rod-shaped, coliform bacterium of the genus Escherichia that is commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded organisms. Credit Wikipedia If you dare to stay bring your own booze, as the bar is only open from 5-9p. And you are going to need a lot of booze, some gummies, and maybe a few vicadin for good measure because no early checkin. They are hard core on 4pm checkin which in hindsight is fine because you will want to spend the least amount of time in the dingy - hey was there a sale on shit brown and peestain tan paint, craphole of a room. So because I could get in my room I took a stroll on the resort grounds - well that was a mistake, see pics. I used the gym which was nicely equipped and even had the smell of dead jimmy hoffa - awe the ambience. The lake was pretty to look at.... Fredo your my older brother and I love you, now you go swimming first and let me know how it works out. So not a great stay but boy did we have some laughs anyway. Ps the room photos are misleading because there is no scratch and sniff on them to enjoy the smell of death warmed over. Thank you Canada for legal weed as that was helpful too.

Yelp
Great staff, great spot, beautiful beach and so many water toys and they have life jackets. They were amazing about all the COVID policies and we felt really safe with the way they had it all set up. We will definitely be going back again. The fishing was great the kids caught tons of them right off the dock. Unfortunately the fire ban was in affect so we couldn't do a fire but they have a great fire pit.

Yelp
i get that the photos online are meant to lire you in. Did they ever!!!!!! What an absolute %#it hole on the inside!!!! I should have stayed at one of the cheaper places around. outdated, stained carpet, paint falling off ceiling. Just so run down and for $300 a night!!!! Never again.

Yelp
Absolutely would not recommend. Extra unnecessary fees, lamp did not work, had to harass the front desk to do something so we could charge our phones and they brought an extension cord finally, which while it worked, should not been an issue for the price. Front desk staff needed to be hounded about pool booking and just did not follow through. Room was not properly cleaned when we arrived with last persons trash in cans and sugar all over the remote? Spend the money elsewhere.

Yelp
It looks cute from the outside then after seeing my room it was a mess it looked very rundown the walls were peeling and the tub looked stained also the curtain was more stained than my teeth which scared me dinner at the birch was ok after that I went to the indoor heated pool only one of those were true it was like stepping into the water around Antarctica the hot tub was nice though haven't tried the sauna yet the mirror was rusting when we got here it was like a ghost town no one anywhere I still haven't seen a single person in the time I've been here also the rules are lengthy

Yelp
Ummm... okay. Just the down and dirty: 1. They found a really good photographer and set designer to take the photos for their site, cause what you see on the site AIN'T what you getting when you get there. The place isn't necessarily dirty, it's just run down. 2. Maybe it was cause we went during the off-season, but the lack of activity around the place was a little depressing. However, that allowed for service to be particularly efficient. 3. The in-suite fireplace and complimentary log are a nice touch. 4. Don't tell your guests you are going to give them a gift card for Tim Horton's for breakfast because the power is out in the city, and then give a family of five a $5.00 gift card. Who cares about this one card per room rule? It's insulting and quite frankly, we'd rather you not have mentioned said compensation at all. I hate to say this, cause I'm all about supporting the underdogs (and trust me, next to their topdog neighbour Deerhurst, they are about as under as under can be), but if you're heading to Huntsville during the off-season, try and avoid this place. It's a little depressing. However, maybe once the ski season picks up, the bustle could add some warmth here.

Yelp
Came in the summer at the end of July and I have to say the views from this resort are beautiful! The rooms are decent and the beach area is perfect for young kids! Stayed for three days wed-Friday and wasn't that busy while we were here. We ate at the restaurant both nights. The food was good but service was a Little slow! The second night we ate there it was busy and service took forever! Not the waitress fault but the cooks. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and gave us a free appetizer for our wait. The walls in the rooms are thin as we could hear our neighbours and ppl in the hall but the rooms were clean and suitable for a family of four. The one area I feel needs improvement is the kids stuff ex. Game room, ping pong table and equipment used for activities. But we had a good stay and the sandy beach area for the kids and row boast was perfect!Great spot to take some beautiful pictures.

Yelp
We got married at Hidden Valley and many people said it was the best wedding they had ever been to, thanks in large part to the wonderful staff at Hidden Valley. From the live band in the pub and the beach campfire the night before, to the wonderful ceremony that was moved indoors due to the weather, followed by the amazing reception with a live reggae band, it made it an event to remember. If you get married there, Kyna is the best person I could imagine working with to make your wedding day the best experience possible.

Yelp
Not the place to stay if you are a business traveler. I found it very noisy, the walls are paper thin. I could hear the guy next door peeing! It could do with a bit of a makeover in my view. Wifi was adequate although I did have some problems initially. Restaurant menu was unexciting, although I have to say I enjoyed the meat lovers pizza. It was okay but I wouldn't stay there again.
