Absolutely loved my stay at Hidden Valley Resort! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, with all the amenities we needed. The surrounding views are stunning, especially the lake and nearby trails, perfect for a peaceful getaway. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to relax and recharge. Will definitely be coming back!

We have stayed here many times over the last few years. It is charming and quiet with many available activities all year round. The summer has wonderful swimming, canoeing, snorkeling, tennis or badminton to name a few. In the winter there is skiing for all levels (and lessons), snowshoeing, ice skating, ice fishing and snowboarding. There is also both an indoor and outdoor pool, weight room and games room. ||The in-house restaurant is top notch with award winning chefs and a beautiful breakfast buffet. There is also a lovely fireplace and sitting area and free Wi-Fi. ||It is very pet friendly. The Last few years we have taken our dog along and she loves it! ||You will not be disappointed with this resort!

Better to check the reviews at choicehotels website before booking. When I arrived, I was told the room I booked with two queen beds and sofa bed (for 6 occupancies) was not available. I was told that there is no such kind of room. It's a mistake of choice hotel website. I was given a room with only 2 queen beds. It took me a very long and hard time to fight and was given a family room with 2 queens and sofa bed finally which I was told not available for two days in the beginning which means we need to move to another room the second day, and somehow finally became available after I insisted not moving. Actually when I tried to book another room, the family room was still available. So I don't understand why I was told it's not available the second day. The carpet is very old with bad smelling. The room is so dated. There is no even enough power sockets for the lights and coffee machine, so you have to unplug one before plugging in the other. The heating was done by a window air-conditioner which was hard to control and made a lot of noise.

The front desk staff were pretty good and the cleaners lovely. The resort is definitely not. Everything is tatty. The carpets are stained, the rooms have limited hanging for towels and the drain in the shower does not fit and is dangerous. There's also very few power points. I would not use the roll in beds having seen the state of them in the corridor. They also charge the same resort fee irrespective of services offered, which is frankly garbage when the services are the indoor pool and that's it... come a few weeks earlier and you get access to boats, tennis courts etc I also cut my toe quite badly in the pool. The staff were very generous in offering me access to the first aid kit, but surprisingly uninterested in knowing about a hazard to guests. The breakfast not being free in a 'resort' was another surprise, especially for the price paid. Unless the price is below $240 for 2 adults 2 kids I'd recommend looking elsewhere for value for money

Spa Review: I recently booked a massage at the Hidden Valley Resort, as I was staying at an AirBnB within walking distance, and I honestly didn't expect it to be anything extraordinary. How wrong I was! Laila, my therapist, gave me the most divine 60-minute Swedish massage that left me practically floating out of there today.||As someone who has had hundreds of massages over the years, I can confidently say that Laila’s is easily in my top 5. Her technique was nothing short of magical—perfectly balanced between relaxation and deep relief. What really stood out, though, was her intuitive touch. She was incredibly polite, professional, and quiet, creating a soothing atmosphere that made the experience even more special.||For the locals (and visitors, too!) who are looking for a talented and down-to-earth therapist, Laila is the one you want. I truly wish I had discovered her sooner because I would have treated myself to many more sessions. Highly recommend!

All the staff were so kind and helpful. The facility itself was a bit tired looking but clean. The door in our bathroom didn't fit so it dragged on the floor a bit. It is wheelchair accessible but definitely not wheelchair friendly. If you or anyone you are with has mobility issues getting down to the indoor pool you have to do a full flight of stairs. There are no elevators in the hotel. The breakfast buffet was $15 and the food was better than expected. The hotel had amazing views and was a short drive to stores and other restaurants.

The hotel at Hidden Valley Resort deserves a standing ovation! Every meal was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The cocktail menu was creative, and the drinks were expertly crafted. Dining here was one of the highlights of my stay. I highly recommend trying their signature dishes!

Yelp
This place was the most amazing shithole I have ever stayed in. The only thing resort about it was restoring to alcohol in order to get through the weekend. Norman Bates would not have stayed there. I walked into their crappy entrance and noticed immediately the place needs to buy a broom and sweep up. Once inside the lobby I felt a quantum leap into the 1980s....um 40 years of decor no no's that was a no back in 1980. The checkin lady was nice but had zero hospitality training. But the concierge was clueless... oh wait there wasn't one. My favorite part was Lake E.coli - I mean it was late September and already cold so I didn't need to be greeted on checkin with a big sign stating the lake was closed for recreation because of Escherichia coli that s a Gram-negative, facultative anaerobic, rod-shaped, coliform bacterium of the genus Escherichia that is commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded organisms. Credit Wikipedia If you dare to stay bring your own booze, as the bar is only open from 5-9p. And you are going to need a lot of booze, some gummies, and maybe a few vicadin for good measure because no early checkin. They are hard core on 4pm checkin which in hindsight is fine because you will want to spend the least amount of time in the dingy - hey was there a sale on shit brown and peestain tan paint, craphole of a room. So because I could get in my room I took a stroll on the resort grounds - well that was a mistake, see pics. I used the gym which was nicely equipped and even had the smell of dead jimmy hoffa - awe the ambience. The lake was pretty to look at.... Fredo your my older brother and I love you, now you go swimming first and let me know how it works out. So not a great stay but boy did we have some laughs anyway. Ps the room photos are misleading because there is no scratch and sniff on them to enjoy the smell of death warmed over. Thank you Canada for legal weed as that was helpful too.

Yelp
Great staff, great spot, beautiful beach and so many water toys and they have life jackets. They were amazing about all the COVID policies and we felt really safe with the way they had it all set up. We will definitely be going back again. The fishing was great the kids caught tons of them right off the dock. Unfortunately the fire ban was in affect so we couldn't do a fire but they have a great fire pit.

Yelp
i get that the photos online are meant to lire you in. Did they ever!!!!!! What an absolute %#it hole on the inside!!!! I should have stayed at one of the cheaper places around. outdated, stained carpet, paint falling off ceiling. Just so run down and for $300 a night!!!! Never again.

Yelp
Absolutely would not recommend. Extra unnecessary fees, lamp did not work, had to harass the front desk to do something so we could charge our phones and they brought an extension cord finally, which while it worked, should not been an issue for the price. Front desk staff needed to be hounded about pool booking and just did not follow through. Room was not properly cleaned when we arrived with last persons trash in cans and sugar all over the remote? Spend the money elsewhere.

Yelp
It looks cute from the outside then after seeing my room it was a mess it looked very rundown the walls were peeling and the tub looked stained also the curtain was more stained than my teeth which scared me dinner at the birch was ok after that I went to the indoor heated pool only one of those were true it was like stepping into the water around Antarctica the hot tub was nice though haven't tried the sauna yet the mirror was rusting when we got here it was like a ghost town no one anywhere I still haven't seen a single person in the time I've been here also the rules are lengthy

Yelp
Ummm... okay. Just the down and dirty: 1. They found a really good photographer and set designer to take the photos for their site, cause what you see on the site AIN'T what you getting when you get there. The place isn't necessarily dirty, it's just run down. 2. Maybe it was cause we went during the off-season, but the lack of activity around the place was a little depressing. However, that allowed for service to be particularly efficient. 3. The in-suite fireplace and complimentary log are a nice touch. 4. Don't tell your guests you are going to give them a gift card for Tim Horton's for breakfast because the power is out in the city, and then give a family of five a $5.00 gift card. Who cares about this one card per room rule? It's insulting and quite frankly, we'd rather you not have mentioned said compensation at all. I hate to say this, cause I'm all about supporting the underdogs (and trust me, next to their topdog neighbour Deerhurst, they are about as under as under can be), but if you're heading to Huntsville during the off-season, try and avoid this place. It's a little depressing. However, maybe once the ski season picks up, the bustle could add some warmth here.

Yelp
Came in the summer at the end of July and I have to say the views from this resort are beautiful! The rooms are decent and the beach area is perfect for young kids! Stayed for three days wed-Friday and wasn't that busy while we were here. We ate at the restaurant both nights. The food was good but service was a Little slow! The second night we ate there it was busy and service took forever! Not the waitress fault but the cooks. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and gave us a free appetizer for our wait. The walls in the rooms are thin as we could hear our neighbours and ppl in the hall but the rooms were clean and suitable for a family of four. The one area I feel needs improvement is the kids stuff ex. Game room, ping pong table and equipment used for activities. But we had a good stay and the sandy beach area for the kids and row boast was perfect!Great spot to take some beautiful pictures.

Yelp
We got married at Hidden Valley and many people said it was the best wedding they had ever been to, thanks in large part to the wonderful staff at Hidden Valley. From the live band in the pub and the beach campfire the night before, to the wonderful ceremony that was moved indoors due to the weather, followed by the amazing reception with a live reggae band, it made it an event to remember. If you get married there, Kyna is the best person I could imagine working with to make your wedding day the best experience possible.

Yelp
Not the place to stay if you are a business traveler. I found it very noisy, the walls are paper thin. I could hear the guy next door peeing! It could do with a bit of a makeover in my view. Wifi was adequate although I did have some problems initially. Restaurant menu was unexciting, although I have to say I enjoyed the meat lovers pizza. It was okay but I wouldn't stay there again.
