Ash Ridge Winery

This is a lovely family run vineyard, with a relaxed vibe. The owner Leith is friendly, passionate about Ashridge and very accommodating to guests. There is a lovely outdoor play area for children and adults to enjoy. They make great Chardonnay and a Syrah dessert wine.

Really sad to say we have had a terrible experience here. I am home in Hawke’s Bay visiting family and have been on an e-bike tour for my birthday. The service was horrific. We did 3 tastings. The service was spoken at us and not to us. She was rude, unfriendly, and gave us less than a tea spoon pour per wine tasting. We did politely make a comment about the service during the tasting and at the end when we paid - all of which was ignored an unacknowledged like we were talking to no one. A beautiful spot with so much potential but made ugly. We won’t be back.

We enjoyed the wine at Ash Ridge and bought some to take home. However, as wine is down to personal taste I’m not going to delve any deeper than to say we enjoyed many of the tastings on offer. The facility was very nice and provided seating options inside or out, plenty of shade available from the sun and some outdoor games too. We were looked after buy the owner who was friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing. Toilets were also clean and modern. Definitely worth a visit you won’t be disappointed.

Super special place! Very good wines paired by small (or large) delicious plates. There are indoors and outdoors tables in a very pleasant garden. We were there on a Sunday when several artisans were showcasing / selling their products. On top of that there was live music and the singer was EXCELLENT! I highly recommend a visit to this winery.

We had a lovely tasting experience at Ash Ridge Winery. Jose was friendly and knowledgeable; he helped make the visit delightful.

Had a lovely glass of Rose and Chardonnay and shared a very delicious pizza ....very helpful and friendly staff 🍕 totally recommend

Wine festival was Awesome!! Black Betty slow bbq & live music with clean & modern facilities & games. Not to mention delicious wines & wine cocktails

Not very friendly or accomodating, was hoping for more history behind the wines we were tasting, we were also told to move aside so she could serve someone who came in after us. Would not recommend.

Super friendly service and really personable. The bikes worked great. It was our first time ever riding an e-bike so once we got the hang of it, we felt like we were going on warp speed. Some of the wineries can be a bit of a hit or miss but the experience is cool. The gravel road heading to the wineries do kind of suck though. If you end up buying some wine at a winery, stick on of the labels he gives you and he'll come pick it up later so you don't have to worry about it jostling around in your bike.
