Ashdowns of Dover Bed & Breakfast

Our stay at this bed & breakfast was absolutely fantastic. The rooms were spotless, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, making for a perfect night’s sleep. One highlight was the beautiful, spacious backyard filled with flowers and sheep – so peaceful and refreshing! Gary went above and beyond to accommodate us. When a booking issue arose, he handled it flexibly and kindly by arranging an extra room at no additional cost. We were also pleased to find a Tesla charging station on-site, which was incredibly convenient. The breakfast was another highlight – freshly prepared and delicious, with muesli, yogurt, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, eggs, toast, and hot tea. Gary and his wife are such kind and thoughtful hosts. Highly recommend this place for its comfort, excellent hospitality, and attention to detail!

I had a wonderful stay at this lovely bed & breakfast. The room was impeccably clean, and the bed was very comfortable, ensuring I had a restful sleep after a long and exciting day of travel. It included fresh muesli with yogurt, black tea, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, eggs, and toasted bread – a perfect way to start the day. Ashdowns of Dover has it all. A great Host (Gary) who is very knowledgeable in the area and ready to share his contacts. The room is well appointed, very clean, a warm room; with a lush king size bed with wonderful pillows and sheets. The Breakfast Room has a beautiful garden view and the Breakfast is one of the best we have experienced. Being greeted with scones and homemade jam was a very special and greatly appreciated gesture. Gary is a wonderful Ambassador for Tasmanian tourism.

We loved our stay at Ashdowns - welcoming, comfortable and attractive accommodation. Setting was idyllic - rolling green hills and a warming firepit for chilly evenings. Gary, our host, was so accommodating and provided delicious breakfasts with careful attention to our son's gluten free needs. He was a fund of local knowledge and was able to suggest options we would enjoy.

Fantastic 3 night stay at Ashdowns …. Gary was amazing …. Such good service …. Always popped up with the offer of a coffee and plenty of tips for the region … we loved the fire pit and the hideaway at the bottom of the garden ….. the breakfasts were amazing and all home made produce and certainly can’t fault the beds and the linen … we slept like babies …… highly recommend Trish & Chris Perth WA

Absolutely enjoyed staying here. Gary the host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and had great ideas for day trips. Freshly prepared breakfast each morning was delicious, couldn't recommend highly enough.
