Asher Adams (Salt Lake City, Utah) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"You almost feel transported back to the Golden Age of Travel when you step inside Asher Adams. Housed inside what was formerly Salt Lake City’s train depot, the hotel is continuing the building’s legacy as a hub for travelers, but this time is encouraging them to stay a while before rushing off to catch the next train. Many of the building’s original design elements have been restored, from stained glass windows to terrazzo flooring, and whilst guest room don’t quite hark back to the building’s 1909 beginnings, the mid-century décor does give them a suitably nostalgic look. The restaurant and two bars have an all-American feel, with modern American classics at restaurant Rouser and a whiskey-based cocktail menu at bar No. 119. But the standout spot is The Bar at Asher Adams, where you can sip classic cocktails under the gilded gold arched ceiling of the depot’s Grand Hall." - Tablet Hotels

Our stay at Asher Adams was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The hotel itself is stunning, with an incredible sense of history that adds so much character and charm to the experience. You can truly feel the story of the building the moment you walk in. The staff were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel taken care of the entire stay. Room service was fast, delicious, and exactly what we needed after long days on the mountain. The location is unbeatable—close to everything and only about 40 minutes from the ski resorts, which made it an ideal home base for snow sports. Between the comfort, service, history, and convenience, this hotel checked every box. This will absolutely be our go-to spot whenever we travel in for skiing or snowboarding. Highly recommend!

This hotel is top notch. The main hall is spectacular. You need to just come in to see the stained glass and murals. The location is just across the street from the Delta Center so it would be a great place to stay and catch a game. The rooms are very nice. We stayed in a standard king. There are plenty of outlets conveniently located. The curving hallways made it feel like it wasn’t just a long row of rooms because you could only see a few doors down the way. I liked the feeling of that for some reason. We did breakfast twice at Rouser and it was very good. I got the Hot Shot Benny with the smoked salmon and it was delicious! The crispy potatoes were perfect and the accompanying fry sauce was not just a plain old fry sauce. My wife got the chia seed pudding both days and it is really good. I got oatmeal for our travel day breakfast and that was also really good. You should get some of their sourdough toast also. It is really good!

This review is overdue and well-deserved. I stayed here twice in December 2024, just a few weeks after the property opened. It's a marvel in itself that the building looks so great and well-preserved with a modern touch. My first stay was great. The food from the bar in the atrium/ lobby was fresh, and my drink was great. My second stay was my last Marriott stay in 2024, which helped me get to Ambassador. The suites that night weren't sold out, but were going for an extremely outrageous price. I was able to speak to the Management Team and got a better rate (though still VERY high) in order to keep the room profitable for them, but also get my dollar spend amount to what it needed to be. Thanks to the Asher Adams hotel and team, I was Ambassador Elite status with Marriott all 2025. I'd like to commend some of my favorite staff members, specifically: Erika, Diogo, Ephrem, and Suhani. They all go above and beyond for their guests - with Diogo being my favorite as he was the first Employee I interacted with at the Asher Adams and he made my experience an unforgettable one.

We’ve stayed at the Asher Adams several times over the past few months. Hotel is great with spacious and comfortable rooms. The gym is well equipped. We found the service to be responsive but not overbearing. On property restaurant and lobby bar were consistently good for dinner. Highly recommend. Only negative is the exorbitant cost of valet parking - $48 per night! Also, be aware that they charge your room for the valet but also give out a valet claim ticket that asks you to pay to collect your car. First time we stayed, we were double-charged for valet and it’s been challenging to get a refund.

We stayed at Asher Adams for our Adam anniversary anniversary. It was really nice. They upgraded our room for our anniversary. Great location right across from the Delta center and walking distance to multiple restaurants. All the employees were very nice that we dealt with. Chad at the bar Made great craft cocktails. I don’t remember the other bartender’s name that he also did a great job. Great place to stay.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is stylish, comfortable, and has that rare quality where checking in feels like the start of an experience. The lobby, the hallways, the room itself, everything just pulls you in. It is the kind of place where you drop your bags and immediately want to go explore the bar and all the little corners of the hotel because the whole space feels thoughtfully put together. My only complaint is that the curtains let in quite a bit of light from the top. Not a deal breaker at all, but worth mentioning for anyone who is sensitive to light when they sleep. Otherwise, fantastic stay. I would absolutely come back.

We stayed at Asher Adams for several days while in town on business. We had an excellent first impression and will readily return. Mark, the valet, provided a fabulous greeting and went out of his way to assist us. He is likely THE BEST valet we have ever had. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. Bed was comfortable and linens in good condition. Coffee was unique in that it came in “tea bags” and the room had an instant hot water pot. REAL coffee cups and spoons were provided. This was an appreciated amenity. The overall condition of the hotel was clean and in very good condition. A very good balance of beauty and historic decor. Our dining experiences were equally impressive. Breakfast was daily in Rouser. Food was consistently delicious. Service was attentive and professional. Eddie provided great interaction, conversation and impressive recall. The bar also had a great menu and food was impeccable. Cody went above and beyond one day to secure me a glass of ice tea. His service was genuinely impressive. He took the initiative to be a problem solver and meet the needs/request of the customer. ***impressive*** Interactions with other staff and management were equally impressive - as all staff were polite, professional and attentive. Lobby offered adequate seating and charging ports to stay “plugged in”. Only drawback is there is no outdoor tables/chairs and no where to comfortably and quietly work outside the room. Overall this was a great stay and we look forward to our return. Lifetime Platinum - so a long history of experience.

I am updating this review after speaking with management about an issue I encountered at my favorite hotel in Salt Lake City. First, I want to highlight the positives: this is a gorgeous hotel with excellent service. I arrived late on Thanksgiving weekend, and the front desk staff welcomed me warmly. My room was spacious and clean, and my request for an accessible room on a lower, quieter floor is always accommodated without hesitation. Shortly after returning home, I realized that my facial moisturizer (a well-known, higher end brand) was missing from my toiletries bag. This was disorienting, as I had a wonderful stay otherwise, and the only people who entered my room were room service. The moisturizer had only been on the bathroom counter or in my sealed liquids bag, which I placed directly into my zipped suitcase at checkout. I thoroughly checked the bathroom before leaving, and the bag was fully secured in my luggage before I left the room. When I first called the hotel, I explained the situation and asked if the item might have been turned in to lost and found. After they checked and found nothing, the conversation took an unhelpful turn. When I asked whether it might have been thrown out or what the next steps could be, the interaction became uncomfortable. I requested to speak with management. Once I spoke with management, the experience was great. Jake, in particular, handled an awkward situation exceptionally well. He listened, empathized, and acknowledged how frustrating it must have felt after an otherwise great stay. It is possible the item was accidentally discarded, and I choose to believe that, as I have never had anything intentionally go missing from a hotel room before. Thank you Jake for meeting this expectation, and thank you to everyone else who made my stay otherwise comfortable and welcoming.

Yelp
This facility is absolutely amazing and simply gorgeous. It really shows how you can modernize an old facility and make it mesmerizing. The murals on either end of the room with the railroad coming from the east to the west and with Joseph Smith, on the other end is such an intriguing story. As wonderful as a building and a room can be it's still nothing if the people don't make the service an experience that is outstanding. At the Asher Adams autograph Collection You are guaranteed an outstanding Marriott experience. Service was absolutely top-notch, white glove and friendly, and when I say friendly, that includes the size of the pour. Close that out with a wonderful whiskey selection and you have a winning spot to meet people after work.

Yelp
This Asher Adams is a new hotel that opened their door in Salt Lake City's most welcoming architectural structure - "The Union Pacific Depot", This was originally the Hall of a train station linking the East to the West part of our great American country. It offer great views of downtown and the Wasatch mountains. I arrived via Denver from a 15 hours flight from Paris and the reception was welcoming. I received a Classic King which is spacious with a native western sophisticated American vibe. Love their reading side lamps. This said, their room is missing an operational working desk. As a Bonvoy member I received 500 points but no-upgrade for my room and breakfast is not included. Overnight parking is also available. My shower pressure was excellent. Jordan the night manager was a pleasure to deal with.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were in SLC to see the Capitals play the Utah Hockey Club. We discovered the Asher Adams, a converted train station, which opened earlier this year. When we walked into the lobby, I was hit with a strong smell of air freshener, which might pose a problem for folks with sensitivities. My boyfriend said the lobby reminded him of the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, with the tiled floor and high ceilings. We reserved a corner room and had a long walk down the hall, but it was a nice, if oddly designed, room. The toilet was in a cubicle with a frosted glass door across from a large shower with a frosted glass door and a sink and counter between them. Unfortunately, the shower's water pressure was very weak. I did like the automatic night light beneath the sinks and hooks on the walls for our coats. It would be nice if hotels would have more than one luggage stand. If you are attending an event at Delta Center (which we were), you'll be glad to know the hotel is right across the street. When exiting the arena, use the Temple Street 400 West exit, and you'll be close. I don't know if I'll come back to SLC, but if I do, I'll consider staying again.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our stay here. Amazing location in downtown SLC. Staff was very attentive, helpful and friendly. You could tell they wanted to make the experience special during your stay. The hotel is themed after the Union Pacific Rail station and is not only a wonderful hotel to stay at but a fun historical experience.
