"Smoking Shisha After Dinner Café Asherg, located in Souq Waqif, is a no-frills hang-out place popular among locals. The menu, like the atmosphere of the place, is simple: Hummus, Baba ganoush, tahini, kofta, Shish tawouq, liver and a limited variety of sandwiches are all it takes to keep patrons coming back over and over again. Cafe Asherg, is also the place to smoke apple-flavored shisha and watch the souq from the open-roof terrace. Nothing on the menu costs more than 10 QAR ($3) and the view is priceless."
I ordered the BBQ mixed grill, and it was presented with great attention to detail. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, with each item cooked to perfection. The atmosphere of the restaurant elevated the experience—warm, inviting, and enhanced by an appealing aroma of freshly grilled meats. As a kind gesture, they also offered a complimentary side, which added a thoughtful and generous touch to the meal.

Took one nasty bite I didn’t finish my food. It took 15 minutes of waving and calling out before anyone acknowledged me despite two of the staff just standing around and looking in their phones, The chicken sandwich tasted spoiled, so I ended up feeding it to the stray cat wandering by my chair. She probably knew the drill—people feed her because the food here is either expired, spoiled, or just plain awful. There’s something seriously wrong with the taste, and no, it’s not the spices. It’s just bad, I give them two star because the fry’s and the tea did taste good

We have experienced better prices and customer service elsewhere, but also significantly worse - so we enjoyed both hot and cold drinks in the shade under one of the trees. The coffee was initially very black and hot, which most people like - but I don't want very hot coffee and asked for some milk - and I still wonder what kind of creamy yellow milk I got - but it was fine. It was good to sit with open space around us, a little traffic noise, but not very annoying. Big plus for having other sodas than just Coke and Pepsi that are sugar-free. I would have liked to see them make something with an orange flavor that was also sugar-free, but lemon is a step in the right direction.

We ordered hummus and bread . The bread was cold we asked them they gave us the same cold break. Also the shawarma took hours to come , the pineapple juice the taste was so bad . We asked them to change to orange juice, 😔 though it's the same nothing changed. Their food l cannot rate it because it's a zero out of ten.
When l told the supervisor that the food is cold here came and touch the food l had to put aside the bread.
They should improve on their way they speak to customers. I hope they will improve but l won't recommend.

While roaming in Souq Waqif, I found this restaurant which had indoor, outdoor and rooftop seating arrangements. Food is not very expensive, but not amazing as well. It’s like average. Service was fine, staffs are polite. Mostly filled with tourists only. The view from the rooftop is really beautiful. They have Shiesha as well which I cannot tell how good or bad is as I did not try.

I love this place as it overlooks the “Spiral Mosque” here in Souq Waqif. Food is a lot cheaper compare to any other restaurant, but good menus! Tasty meat and refreshing beverages. Polite and hospitable staff as well.

Horrible experience. Terrible food, worst service. The supervisor touched our bread after serving it which was totally unhygienic and disgusting, prompting us to discard it. We tried both pineapple and orange juices, and both were exceptionally awful. I will not recommend this place to anyone who values quality, well-prepared meals. Very disappointing service!

Compared to pre-covid times, this restaurant now has plenty of vacant chairs upstairs since Sisha is not allowed as per ministry’s directives.
Service now is fast compared before. Staffs now are attentive and responsive to your needs.
Tip: bring cash with you. Still until now they don’t accept debit or credit cards.
