Ashfield House & Cottage - Grassington / Skipton

Fantastic B&B! We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay in early July. We were accompanied by two other couples, who also had a great experience. We chose Ashfield House because we were walking 3 sections of the Dales Way and preferred to stay in one location. Grassington is a great spot from which to do this. We took our large 4x4 and had no problems accessing the property, which is centrally located, tucked away behind the main street. The parking is deceptively spacious and Lyn was extremely helpful on arrival and departure, ensuring that our vehicle was safely parked and not an inconvenience to other guests. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean and beds super comfortable. The communal areas (entrance hallway, guests' lounge, breakfast rooms) are spacious which was ideal for our group. As we were arriving and departing at the same time with walking gear, the large hallway was a bonus. The lounge was ideal for us to gather in before heading out for supper and the breakfast areas and fantastic food ensured a perfect start to our day's walks. The service at all times was so efficient. Lyn and her team really work hard in a very discreet way to make your stay so good. Thank you! This is the best of British hospitality in a fantastic part of the UK.

The fantastic reviews and 4-star rating wowed us — perhaps too much. With that caveat, I will confess we found it rather ordinary. Clean, nice breakfast, but it was a rather ordinary small bedroom and an ordinary small bathroom. I also was struck by how absent the managed were. I expected more hospitality, perhaps being in the drawing room once a day to chat and answer questions,. Instead, we called them on the phone when we needed something. There cancellations policy was rather rigid. We were thinking of leaving a day early but were told we’d have to pay for that night. |All in all, it was ok but not great.

Absolutely lovely bed and breakfast. The location is just perfect. Right in the heart of Grassington. Our room was lovely. Beautifully decorated. Amazing bath. Warm and cosy. Breakfast was delicious. There is also a lovely quirky little sitting room perfect for relaxing in on a rainy day. Would highly recommend this place

Undoubtedly the best located hotel in Grassington. Just off the main square but wonderfully peaceful with a stunning garden that guests are welcome to use. Really does offer the 'best of both worlds'! Lyn was an amazing host going above and beyond to make my stay super comfortable. The little touches are so welcoming and thoughtful. Was so sad to leave this gorgeous place. Cannot recommend enough!

Tucked away in the busy small village of Grassington, is a quirky old house with all its squeaky floorboards and amazing history. The hearty breakfasts will keep you going until the afternoon. The staff are so very friendly and helpful. Our room looked over the beautiful gardens with table and chairs to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. Our room was comfortable. The house is ideally situated because there are so many stunning walks available on your doorstep without touching the car. Circular long walks to Burnsall or a short stroll to Linton falls, stepping stones and the beautiful church and graveyard of St. Michael’s and All Angels. There are so many places to eat and drink in the village |The Black Horse and Plaza Uno were our favourites. ( reviews to follow )|Not forgetting the delicious fish and chip shop, we sat at the bus stop and ate ours in the sunshine as it just dipped behind the trees, watching the world go by.

Just returned from a lovely stay. Lynn was very welcoming and helpful and we were lucky to be able to get an early check in, which was appreciated. Room was very good and well equipped with a brilliant shower. Breakfast was superb, excellent choices, cooked to order and very good quality produce. Location couldn't be better. 100% recommend to anyone looking to stay in grassington.

I stayed at the Ashfield House during my Coast to Coast walk and it was a delightful experience. The self check in process was easy and my room in this lovely home style building was excellent. The cooked breakfast and packed lunch were also better than average. In particular, I remember the wide assortment of very healthy breakfast items and beverages, a much more diverse selection than any other place I stayed. Highly recommended.

Absolutely beautiful Grade 2 listed B and B in the heart of Grassington. The garden is truly beautiful and available for guests to enjoy. The building is quirky and characterful and cool on a hot summers day . The hosts are lovely and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay , our room was lovely and the huge king sized bed very comfortable with lovely fresh linen a delight to sleep in . An iron is available for guest’s use . |Even though it is in the centre of Grassington , it’s very quiet and conducive to a great nights sleep . |The breakfast choice is extensive and the food excellent .
