Ashi Express Japanese Grill

This place is absolutely the bomb! I think the same people have been eating here since they’ve opened. They’ve got it down to a science. I have the three meat combo with steak, shrimp, and scallops every time and they never let me down. It’s probably one of the most consistently good meals in town that you can bet on walking out of that place full as a tick. My hat’s off to this place. Very consistent. Very delicious. Highly recommend. It’s worth mentioning that they have excellent eggrolls and potstickers as well. 💎

One of our favorite go-to places foe goo, quality food fast. Most of the time we like to dine-in and eat fresh. It's a nice surprise to get a complimentary cup of soup or salad and even though they are not a full service restaurant, they bring the food/appetizers out to you and check on you periodically. We've been going here for 4 years now and definitely will continue to. Keep up the good work guys!

Great place, clean and friendly service. Order like fast food but they bring it to your table. They even come back to check on you and refill your drink. The Hibachi steak with mushrooms was very good. The carrots were sweet and the rice was perfect add the shrimp sauce to your rice for a treat. Fast and freshly cooked. We will go back here. Edit: I've gotten takeout many times here and they are always fresh and people are friendly.

FIVE STAR ALL AROUND! The food is FRESH, and the taste is amazing!! Worth every penny, they don’t charge much but give you big portions! Their veggies are perfectly cooked. The carrot specifically has an amazing taste, I imagine they sauté it in a buttery sauce before adding it to this dish.

The food is really good, however, the manager does not know allergens enough to know that mayonnaise doesn’t include dairy.. just a little concerning that they could be giving out misinformation regarding potential allergen exposure..

The pot stickers were on point. The scallops were great. The fried rice was not really any different than the white rice -The slight exception being it was faintly not white. The flavor was bland overall and my wife's meal had no sauce at all. She ordered the Chicken & Steak Combo. I ordered the 3 meat combo : Salmon, shrimp, and scallops were the 3 I chose. Everything except the scallops lacked flavor. The white rice was soggy. It's a shame because the staff was great. The service was great. The atmosphere was very nice.

Ordered steak w mushrooms and chicken w broccoli plus salads on 1/5/26 . Steak was charred , dry and hard. Chicken was dry and tough. One salad had chunks of of lettuce with black mold on it. Meat tasted and looked like leftovers and reheated. $38 dollars wasted.

We've been waiting for Ashi Express to open... Passing the construction every day. Let me tell y'all, it was worth the wait!!! I had the Teriyaki chicken w/ broccoli. It's delicious, very economical and the people that work there are amazing! I had to make myself stop eating, it was that good! Maryville needed Ashi Express, I'll be a dedicated patron, thank you!!

Friendly staff! I think the food is good and served quickly! My husband thinks the steak could be more pink but maybe you have to request that I'm not sure.

Tried out the shrimp plate, tastes good, lots O food. Soup was tasty. Wife tried the steak n chicken! Great choice. Large chunks O steak n chicken. The carrots are really tasty

Came here on a whim as sat at the lemongrass restaurant for over 15 minutes with no service. First service here is quick and it's fresh and steaming hot! The scallops are large and cooked to anabsolute perfect 10. Honestly a 1000 times better than I expected. The rice was not mushy which it always is in Loudon's attempt at this. So worth the drive and will come here often in future! Thank you for great service and piping hot perfectly cooked tasty food!

Nice people and interesting concept of drive thru hibachi! I got the steak and scallops combination. You have to ask for a side salad but it does come free of charge if you ask. The ginger dressing tastes like they mixed sugar with powdered ginger spice and it was very mild not spicy like fresh (or even pickled) ginger, tasted good but should not be marketed ginger dressing. Steak was meh and overcooked for my taste, they didn't ask how I liked it cooked so I should have expected well done I suppose. Scallops tasted fishy but were cooked the best they could given the low quality. Oh, and those sweet carrots that every other review I read talked about are definitely different. Not really a great concept in my opinion. Sorry y'all.... But...I will not going back

This place is awesome! Dine-In, Carry-Out or go through the Drive-Thru, whichever you choose you will enjoy the food here. They haven't been open very long but man are they staying busy. Typically I wait awhile before trying out the newest spot in town simply because most need time to work their kinks out. I have been impressed every single time!! I have dined in several times now, and ordered takeout. Fresh quality ingredients sets them apart from a lot of places. If you are familiar w/ Fuji in Knoxville, this is very similar but personally I think the quality of meats may be better, just my personal opinion. If you are craving hibachi or teriyaki I highly recommend you try this place out. If you have questions, just ask they are more than willing to talk you thru it. I've added other veggies like zucchini and onions to mine, all you have to do is ask. They are locally owned, and the food is tasty, so get in there and try them out. Hope you love it as much as I do!! I think I'm gonna drive back out there and get dinner, damn this is making my mouth water!

Decent Chinese , not great , but better than most places in town , service was fast , egg rolls of decent size

Husband and I were starving and our go-to restaurant was closed.. we pulled in the parking lot to turn around and found this gem! First impression was it was really clean and we were greeted immediately. The menu had a lot of options at reasonable prices, and after we ordered and sat down, our meals were out extremely fast! The egg rolls are some of the best we'd ever had, and the steak and mushrooms were both tender and fluffy, so so good. We would highly recommend this place for a quick, yummy, easy Japanese option.

From the moment I saw the sign go up during construction I was so excited to try this place as Hibachi is my absolute favorite. Sadly, the food did not love up to my expectations. For starters I ordered the teriyaki steak and broccoli but when I got home I had chicken and it was literally just chicken and broccoli, with the sweet carrots. No other veggies like mushrooms or onion one typically gets when ordering hibachi. The chicken was overcooked and bland and I couldn't taste any teriyaki flavor. The fried rice was OK but has corn in it which is weird to me and the shrimp sauce had a good flavor. I was also not happy to see inside the restaurant from my deive thru view that most of the staff weren't properly masked or even masked at all. Granted this is only their second day open and I'm sure they have kinks to work out. I'll give them another shot in a few months but for now I'll continue to drive to Farragut for good hibachi.

Clean but food sucks. You can get better sushi at Krogers or Food City. It is just prepackaged garbage that is expensive and nasty

Delicious, fresh food in large portions. They all come with a container of yum yum sauce...yum indeed. Excellent customer service and an immaculately clean restaurant. We look forward to going back!

This was my first time eating at Ashi Express. The people were very nice and the food was good. I'm not much on ginger salad dressing, but theirs is pretty good. I had the Hibachi Chicken and Mushrooms with an egg roll and salad. Lots of food and great service.

I am not sure about the food here but man does the service need work I called yesterday and asked what allergy related ingredients were possibly used and the person hung up on me then I called again and they said " hello good bye stop calling " So we will never be eating here or endorsing it's as a food option in this town.

I ordered online, very easy! Food was surprisingly amazing! Like Previous post said don't judge the outside.

I ordered the Hibachi Steak with mushrooms. The order comes with sweet carrots but they will keep them out in request. You can add broccoli, zucchini, or onions as well. You can also add all three vegetables if you would like. Atmosphere: Good, pleasant atmosphere. Not a lot of noise. My wife and I were able to carry on a conversation easily while we were eating. Service: The Service was great. The young man who took our order was friendly and polite and didn't have any problems taking our order. He seemed happy to be working there. They have a roaming server/waitress who brings out your food and checks in on you every once in a while and she was supper nice and polite. Food: Hibachi steak with all the veggies and rice and salad. The salad was good, the dressing was some kind of creamy Ginger Dressing, which almost had too much on the salad. The Hibachi steak and veggies was hot and juicy and delicious. It was the best parting the meal! The rice on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired for a Hibachi express. The way the rice looked was like someone just put some black pepper on the it and threw in a few veggies. It was very bland. I probably should have used the yum yum sauce to give it some flavor or some soy sauce. This was our second try for Ashi Express do not think I will be going back as there are better Japanese restaurants close by.

I saw that this place was opening and I couldn't wait to try it. I ordered through the drive thru and ordered teriyaki chicken with fried rice. I also ordered an egg roll Your order does come with a salad but you have to say you want it so I did lol. The workers were very nice. It wasn't very expensive. I really enjoyed the egg roll. The chicken and rice was very good also but I didn't like how there was no teriyaki sauce at all on the chicken.. if I would have known that I would just ordered hibachi chicken. The salad dressing was so good! Overall I really enjoyed it. If you are looking for a fast and not expensive place then I would check this place out.

Wished I could say something on the bright side but unfortunately, this place is lacking. The wait was too long for a drive thru. Food was over priced, not a lot of it, and bland. I honestly felt ripped off. Apparently this is the correct amount of food, so the end result for us, we won't be back. I so wanted it to be a great place.

My favorite is the teriyaki shrimp. They're sauce is also delicious. All the workers are nice and the inside is always clean when i come in.

I wrote a review on Google because I wanted to order online to be able to do a pick up.only and you can not order online to do pick up only . They didn't like the one star review asked me why I would write I that they they do door dash but door dash doesn't deliver to my house and also why would I want to triple the amount when I was coming to pick.it up myself. They he decided to message me on my Facebook page telling me to take my review down and telling its untrue well im not taking it down when I can not do a order online to just pick up my order myself and there is only like 5 restaurants that only deliver to my home and ashi is not one of them since he clearly messaged me on Facebook . I was going to give them a try but not now so ask me now to change my review on yelp because you can't once put on it stays on here good luck you lost my business now after you clearly decided to message me on Facebook ..

Great service and nice people. To top that, their food is awesome. Plus, they we're playing bob ross inside. I'll definitely be coming back.

Personally I quite enjoy this place! I like the amount of food they provide as well as the price. Sometimes you just need some Japanese food on the go and this is perfect for that. Check it out!

Not overly impressed to tell the truth. To start off multiple takeout containers leaked a lot all over the others and ruined the spring rolls and a few other things to. The noodles are not "udon", more like the ramen you can get at the store for 50 cents and they had a weird flavor I can't describe but my wife was totally put off by and I didn't care for much either. The "steak" IMO barely qualifies as steak. It was tough as leather and the teriyaki flavor was seriously weak - almost non-existent. Same with the chicken. Almost zero flavoring of any kind. Veggies were OK but nothing to write home about. One positive is the spring rolls were surprisingly big but, again, they were ruined by the leaking container above it. For what ended up being over $50 (yikes!) for a family of four with two little ones, not teenagers with bigger appetites, this was definitely a let-down. I'll stick with Osaka down by the 411 Walmart which has been around for years and has basically the same menu except everything tastes much better. BTW, I'm half-Japanese and, in my opinion, calling this "Japanese" food is a real stretch. Maybe in the spirit of (loosely), but really not Japanese. But my guess is most locals (no offense intended) won't care much given the terrible selection of Asian food that's managed to succeed around here for years already. When Panda Express is far-and-above the best "Asian" type food in your town, well, you get the picture.

Great spot to eat. I traveled to town to see family and needed something late. Friendly staff took care of me and brought my order to the car. Would recommend and I'll visit again on my next trip.

Excellent teriyaki steak & chicken. Meat was tender and flavorful, and portions were huge! Highly recommend. We'll be back.

The food here is really good. The Most important things are how good the food is and cleanliness. I'll be coming back next time I drive by it.

My daughter got me eating here, I'm a big fan of the Lo mein and egg rolls, however looking at the menu it appears to be a bit costly!
