Ashley's Island House

Loved this B&B. We were in the first mate room which was near the kitchen and the dining room and the room was quiet. The room was also clean and up to date. Lots of storage space in the bathroom and huge closet and a dresser. The bed was comfortable. The owner, Dave, was gracious and helpful. The location of this place is great as it is close to the bars restaurants and shopping but far enough away not to get the late night noise and rowdiness. This place had a beautiful sitting room and a porch. Dave also rents golf carts. Breakfast was great and I had eggs cooked to order with sausage and husband had bacon cooked to order. There was also juice bread pastries fruit cheese omelets French toast and waffles.

Very easy to find the location. Love that you can also rent golf carts here and are cheaper then most other places although did not rent from here. Was trying to get in last minute but was booked so had to stay elsewhere. Was looking to stay second night but did not know most places do not have one night available on weekend so couldn't find anywhere to stay since I had only booked my previous room for one night. Called back here and just by chance someone had just cancelled and he had a room. Anyways long story short anyone that is looking for a nice relaxing stay stay here. Very welcoming feels like you are at home. Very clean comfortable bed/ room. Love that they have the big outdoor porch to sit and chat and have a drink. Love that every room has it's own bathroom and tv. Love the hot breakfast every morning. Very good tasty filling just what you need to start day. Good variety. Love the parlor room where he let us keep our luggage before we left island after we checked out of room. Dave works so very hard and has amazing hospitality. I loved every second of this stay and I know many other people have as well. Thanks Dave for everything your amazing!

Our stay was amazing, Dave was an absolute pleasure to meet. Gave us all the details of where and when to go to the nice restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and the fruits and vegetables were all very tasty. Highly recommend this place. Great experience and will remember this place for years.

Ashley's Island House is one of the best stays on the island, 13 rooms, and all of them have a bathroom with shower. Dave, the owner runs is available anytime you need him.You wont need him becouse he is always there doing something and really makes your stay at put-in bay the best . Dave has golf carts right at the house, and his location is close to town. You can walk downtown, but it's far enough to be out of the noise .The best stay ever is all I can say!! Great Prices also

The Ashley Island House is liking coming home to old friends. Dave makes you feel very welcome and like you belong to his community. He takes a great amount of time and effort to make your stay one of memories, relaxing and enjoyable. His knowledge of the island and what is going on is so helpful especially if it is your first visit. This is our second stay and we plan on next year going back for another enjoyable stay.

We stayed in the Carriage House this past weekend and I can't say enough. The accommodations were good and the host was so gracious and knowledgeable. We met quests, enjoyed watching our host play in the softball game with the Team from the Roundhouse, spending time on the porch and enjoyed the distillery. We had such a great time we booked again for next year. Dave also serves a great breakfast!

We had a very great time at this place. Dave was great and the breakfast was delicious!. We stayed in the bird room and it was very comfy, clean and quiet. No issues at all. I will definitely be staying here again next time around. If you live in Michigan you have to check out put in bay! Also be prepared to get a taxi or renting a golf cart DIRECTLY from the fairy service. Be prepared so you’re not stranded walking later in the evening. It’s quite a walk from the fairy drop off location to the hotels / golf cart rentals. My 3 rd time to the island in the near future I will definitely not to making the same mistake 3 times lol.

Had a wonderful time in an antique property the owner is the best! He went over all the lay of the land and made breakfast himself each morning. Also grows fresh veggies 😋 which he uses in his breakfast. I highly suggest put in bay to families. It's like the Key West of the Midwest, Ohio. Lots to do Rent a golf cart or just go for a bike ride. Everything is not to far away.

We had our reservations here over a year ago! My husbands back went out and we couldn't make it! So they let us postpone for a year!!! We arrived on Monday morning and it has been an amazing time!!! The house is older so that being said you must take that into consideration!!! But it was very clean and comfortable!!! The breakfasts were good and tasty!!! The coffee is awesome!!!! Dave try's to have fresh cucumbers or tomatoes straight from his little garden!!! We rented a golf cart from Dave and went all over the island!!!! The house is centrally located!!!! You could walk to town very easily or to the family entertainment area!!! We took several walks all around town with no problem!!!!! We will be back!!!!

The Ashley house is a charming excursion into hospitality and exemplary service. The proprietor Dave exemplified great dedication to his establishment and his guests. The rooms are clean and cozy. Each room has a theme we stayed in the Sunflower room. The front porch is welcoming and you are likely to make friends there before the night is over. It is nicely situated close to the best places to eat on the island. Dave takes the time to orient his guests to the Island and demonstrates an encyclopedic knowledge of the area. We plan on returning. I highly recommend this establishment.

I cannot say enough about how warm and hospitable the owner is. We had a wonderful stay in the Captain Room. Everything was clean and in good repair. Golf carts are on site to rent at the cheapest rate in the island. The location is within walking distance of downtown, so you don't really need a cart if you're going to party. However, the best party in town is on the front porch, watching those who drank too much stumble home. The breakfast choices are expansive. My only complaint is we had to leave. No worries, we will be back next summer.

Our first visit to Put-in-Bay. We couldn't get a room at our first choice, which turned out to be good luck because we had such a great stay at Ashley's. Very short walking distance to the heart of the village, but far enough to be away from the nightlife noise. Our room was quiet, well appointed, comfortable and very clean. Laurie, the proprietor, is very friendly and helpful, she made us feel like we were visiting a dear friend. The hot breakfast was tasty, and the front porch offers a relaxing perch for watching island life pass by. I actually preferred being on Catawba Ave. versus a quiet side street, it was fun to see all the happy people going by in their golf carts.

Absolutely nothing but good things to say about Ashley's . Great from start to finish. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Thank you making us feel welcome. We will be back.

My friends & I just spent two mid-week days at Ashley's and we enjoyed the experience so much that we're planning our next visit already. Laurie is a natural innkeeper with a great personality. She sets the tone, and the lovely and well-kept building from the 1860s does the rest. It's just far enough from the bars to be quiet, but close enough that you can be in the heart of the town within 5 minutes walking. We rented a cart and saw the entire island in greater detail than any of my previous 5 visits to PIB. We all agreed that this was a first-rate experience.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Put-in-Bay look no further than Ashley's Island House! The inn keeper is very nice and accommodating. The house is lovely and clean! The towels are the softest ones I've ever used. (A small but important detail) The house is located within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. Bikes are free to use and you can rent golf carts there as well. The front porch is a great way to wind down after a day of shopping, eating and sightseeing. I would give this place 10 stars if I could!

We had a great experience here. In fact, we lucked out because we were able to go at the tail-end of tourist season (which means it was very quiet throughout the island but not completely a ghost town). We got a room way down the hall so we were really alone. The room had DirectTV (which I don't think we expected) and mornings offered great breakfast and great social interaction with other visitors and staff. Great location, away from the crazy main street area, but close enough to be within walking (or golf cart) distance - also close to the other attractions away from main street.

Did not stay at Ashley's (we camped) but rented a cart at the cheapest rate in the island. We saved $60. But they only rent carts when guests don't need them. Owners/staff were fantastic, personable and helpful. Talked to a couple of people staying at Ashley's and they said it was great. By all means if they have carts to rent-rent here. This would be our first choice for a place to stay on the island.

Great place to stay! Clean and inviting with very friendly owners. Easy walking to downtown, but not right in all the noise and fun of the bar scene. Great breakfast!
