We stayed here for 2 nights in July while exploring Tsavo East NP. We enjoyed our overall stay here although due to a miscommunication we were not booked in the tents that we really wanted to stay in. We ended up staying in an upgraded newer area of the property. Huge room with everything you could ever want in it. Huge bathroom as well. Lots of storage. Large deck area with seating. The food was buffet style for all meals. There was lots of selection at all meals and the food was delicious. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. All staff were great and helpful. Lots of monkeys on the property. The property is fenced off from the park and we saw elephants grazing on the other side of the fence most of the time. Wifi seemed weak there but that wasn’t important to us so it wouldn’t be a negative for us. The only negative thing about the property that I would say is that it was a larger, busier property than most of the other places we stayed on our safari and personally we just prefer a smaller and quieter place. But I would recommend this property without hesitation if the fact that it’s larger and busier didn’t matter to you

I would choose Ashnil Aruba Lodge over and over again for a stay in Tsavo East! The rooms and facilities are beautiful and well equipped and the gardens are well-groomed. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the food is delicious. There is a special atmosphere to this place that made me feel comfortable right away. I especially enjoyed the tranquillity. Falling asleep to the calming sounds of birdsong and nature, with a gentle breeze blowing through my room, was a beautiful experience. I hope to return to this wonderful place soon!

While the venue is very nice i would not recommend this venue or stay here again. They appaear to treat guides very poorly. Ours was a friend but forbidden from eating with us. They had to stay at reception or in their poorly kitted out quarters. All the other venues we stayed at appeared to treat the guides much better. This venue still seemed to have an old classist attitude from last century. We're led to believe this attitude stems from the owners who set these rules.

Ashnil Aruba Lodge was the final lodge we stayed at on our 19 night safari through Kenya and Tanzania, booked through Tapestry of Africa. ||The lodge is located a long way into Tsavo East National Park and is accessed through the Voi gate. As we drove up to the lodge there were elephants all around us - they were beside the road, under a copse of trees near the entry gates, and out across the flood plain. ||We stayed in bungalow 15, I think, maybe 14. Whatever it was, it had a view straight across to a waterhole that was right against the fence. And elephants were in and around that waterhole constantly!|Although the bungalow was a bit tired, it was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was newly renovated. Really nice eco products in the bathroom. A very comfy bed. We slept with the glass doors open so that we could listen to the sounds of elephants around the lodge. Plenty of power points to charge our devices and we even managed to get some wifi.||The lodge has a large separate bar next to the restaurant and a deck that looks out to the flood/river plain. There’s also a nice pool. Look out for snakes. ||The buffet for lunch, dinner and breakfast was extensive. The staff who looked after us at our table were excellent but some of the other staff - reception and main bar - seemed disinterested.||There are different styles of accommodation at the lodge. The tents looked amazing and some new ‘club’ rooms opened the day we arrived. Even if it could do with an update, our bungalow was great, especially its proximity to the waterhole.||We’d definitely recommend Ashnil Aruba Lodge if you’re visiting Tsavo East as either an independent traveller or as part of a safari booking. Great facilities, a variety of accommodation styles, very good food, and on the whole, great staff.

This was part of a three day safari to three national parks from mombasa. This was the first lodge which was very nice seen lots of different animals on the way and at the lodge at the water hole at the back of the lodges. Camp was very nice and clean drinks prices in bar was cheap. Hotel staff were friendly food was good like it when we came back after dinner the room was nicely set up with mosquito net all around bed and low lighting. Then onto next lodge.

We had booked several nights at Ashnil Aruba but we only stayed 1 night. Service here is wanting. We arrived in the afternoon and to our surprise no staff came to receive us at the drop off Infront of the reception. This was the 1st instance of our skepticism of the place. After awhile is when we saw a staff member coming to assist us. We had lunch and we were directed to the NEW ROOMS known as the club houses. We entered the room, they are new and details and finishing is good, but what surprised us the most is that there were no windows. The rooms have the metals bars with the metal wiremeshes to keep out creepy crawlies but there are no windows. The wind blasts into the rooms and raises the curtains ceiling high. It's windy all the time in the Tsavo, it was shocking to us that the management knew about this complain even from other guest but nothing has been done about it. The curtains flap and fly back and forth into the centre of the room throughout the day and night. We could not sleep there, we requested to be moved to the ground level where the wind is not so bad. We had to secure the curtains with the porch seats and our suitcases. Another thing electricity and water can disappear any time. There was no wifi in the rooms. Breakfast was not as we expected from a 4-star hotel. We checked out that morning.

I stayed at Ashnil Aruba Lodge for one night as part of a safari - and it was great. We were warmly welcomed and given a refreshing towel, which was really nice after the safari. The lodge is beautifully situated in the countryside and there were lots of monkeys running around in the garden.||The room was clean, spacious and had a balcony with a view of nature. The meals (full board) were very tasty throughout and the staff were warm and helpful.||If possible, you should stay more than one night - if only to be able to use the pool. Highly recommended!

This is what I would call glamping. These are part chalet part tent. The resort is dated, and the chalets are looking tired. But this is Kenya, so standards are not to European levels. If you're expecting a modern, high specification hotel, you will be disappointed. It should be noted that these sites are located in the national parks and are some distance for any major city or town. The food was great with buffer stye cuisine covering both African and European dishes. I would only consider a couple of nights here as part of a safari package. Rather than a 1 or 2 week holiday.
