What happened to the Asian Buffet? Did it get a new owner or new cooks? I used to stop here everytime I came through Calgary, but last night it was terrible. The food was bad and the bathrooms were disgusting.
I ordered my usual avocado fruit milkshake with tapioca pearls, and even it tasted funny. Half of the dishes had no signs on them, and for someone with allergies, having to guess what things are is not fun. A lot of the pans were empty, with no signage as to what was supposed to be there, so I skipped over them, then saw other people had food I like, but I didn't get any, because there wasn't any when I went through. However, the food was so bad, I probably didn't miss it anyway. There were plates at only one of the buffet aisles, so you had to go searching for a plate, yet there were a ton of waiters/waitresses walking around.
And it was the night of the seafood buffet, so I paid twice as much as I normally do for almost inedible seafood. The waiters/waitresses wouldn't leave me alone, which is better than no attention, but they kept trying to take my plate before I was done with it. The sushi bar has improved greatly, so that was a plus, but everything else was definitely not worth $50.
There was no hand sanitizer in either dispenser at the buffet and only one soap dispenser and one paper towel dispenser worked in the bathroom so there was a line up to get soap and paper towels. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been seen by a staff member all day, even though it wasn't busy. The toilet paper was great, though, best I've ever seen in a restaurant, too bad a great majority of it was scattered all over the floor.
The restaurant used to be full, but it wasn't last night and I can see why. I don't think I'll be going back there again.
