On the Grid : Asian Noodle House

"The decor is nothing special, but the food is delicious. Leaning towards Thai, they offer a host of Asian cuisines, but not a fusion - let's get that straight. Fantastic for lunch or dinner, the service is fast and the food is reliably good. The Thai iced coffee? You'll be buzzing all afternoon." - St. John Design Group

Food is decent. Service is good but didn’t appreciate that they automatically added tip (we have less than six people) and didn’t tell us.

One of my favorites! The lunch specials are a great deal. Huge portions and each dish tastes different (no reused sauces). Attentive staff

Looking forward to trying more dishes! Love the size of the chicken pieces in the pepper chili chicken dish— perfect amount of meat with a little crunch, and the cilantro is tasty. I think more flavor from added garlic would add depth and be great; it’s sized and cooked well but the flavor is just chili and cilantro. 辣子鸡很好吃但需要加大蒜来增加味道。 Overall impressed by their menu.

The food was very good. We ordered several dishes. My favorite was Ma-Po Tufo. It had a very good spice. My kids love the pork fried rice. Everything came out very quick. The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend coming here.

Nice Sichuan restaurant that serves authentic food. Reasonable prices and good service. Clean, and had good portion sizes.

Beef Chow Fun was good. Love the wide noodles and tender beef. Good portion as well. Enough tables inside. Dishes were served fast.

Food is good! Came quickly and in good portions. Service was welcoming and accommodating. I wish they would have given us more large spoons for the dishes - so we wouldn't have to use our personal spoons. The table was also not cleaned and felt a little sticky.

Yelp
Came into the restaurant (pho time) next door, and they sat us at this place. Got to order from either menu. Only got the bao buns and the pork dumplings. A little expensive (2 bao buns for $9), but honestly really yummy. Would go again.

Yelp
Came here a couple of times with friends, and we ordered family style. The first time, we got the Mapo tofu, Lo Mein with Chicken, Pork belly dry pot, Beef with Broccoli, and Dou Miu. The mapo tofu was quite oily without much flavor. It felt like soft tofu was added to a diluted sauce, so the dish lacked cohesiveness and depth of flavor within the tofu. The lo mein with chicken had nicely cooked noodles covered in a good balanced and savory soy sauce. The Pork belly dry pot was oily and very heavy, but the meat quality itself wasn't bad. The Beef with broccoli had tender meat and well-cooked broccoli, but the whole dish was extremely salty. And the Dou miu was sautéed perfectly and had strong garlic flavors which I love. The next time we came, we ordered Shrimp Dumplings (har gao), Fried Dumplings with pork filling, Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken, Scrambled Eggs with Tomato, Chicken with Broccoli, Shrimp with Cashew Nuts, and Chow Mein with Roasted Pork, Chicken, and Shrimp. The shrimp dumplings were not traditional which normally contain seasoned whole shrimp. These ones contained shrimp paste wrapped in a thick dumpling wrapper, so the texture was spongier than the usual har gaos but not bad overall. The fried dumplings were nicely fried, crispy, and not overly oily. Both appetizers came with a dipping sauce that had a good balance of acidity, savory, and sweetness. Unfortunately, the pineapple fried rice was very bland, and the chicken, although very tender and soft, also lacked any seasoning or flavor. The dish didn't seem to have the usual soy sauce and umami flavor that I was looking for. The scrambled eggs with tomatoes were cooked nicely with soft and creamy eggs. I wish it was more flavorful as it also lacked umami. Both the chicken with broccoli and shrimp with cashew nuts were covered in similar sauces that were very salty...otherwise the individual components in each dish were cooked well. Lastly, the chow mein was probably my favorite of the night. Not greasy, good amount of savory flavor but not overpowering, and a variety of well-cooked proteins that each added its own flavor profile. The staff are wonderful, super friendly and welcoming. But overall, I was a bit disappointed with the food, so I probably wouldn't come back, unfortunately.

Yelp
we got the 鱼香茄子 (eggplant with garlic sauce) and the 葱爆牛肉 (beef with onion) and it was honestly really yummy and on par with many other pretty decent asian restaurants. Given the isolated location of ithaca, i was pleasantly surprised about the food! definitely would recommend coming here - it is the best restaurant i've gone to in ithaca (went to quite a few)

Yelp
Not very family style this is more for singular person type of meal. Food was alright nothing special!

Yelp
Food was disappointing. No hot tea, no Chinese dry noodles and no fortune cookies. Took the fun out of going to an Asian restaurant. Not as good as Hai Hung. Will not return.

Yelp
Celebrating the arrival of Year of the Rabbit with my Wife. Annual tradition since 1973 in Chinatown to get Bejing (Peking) Duck Evolved through Southern California(Irvine) San Francisco and actually went to Syracuse in 2020 Happy that it was on the Menu and very tasty with large Portion served. Guess it is to mark the Year of the Rabbit (most lucky) Expect to frequent often in the future. Good service/ young crowd and very friendly Happy time Eric

Yelp
Had the spicy beef pho and it was almost inedible. I'm giving 2 stars because my son had chicken pho & he said it was ok. Hardly any meat & didn't taste fresh, noodles had a weird texture, and broth not good. Will not order again

Yelp
Best canto food in ithaca, but also has good americanized chinese food as well! Price is fair and tastes very good!
