Boat UK85 We had a great stay. The location and the boats are beautiful. We received a very friendly welcome. The boat was very smartly furnished. It was very special. The location is fantastic. Nice and quiet. It's easy to get into the city centre by bus or on foot by ferry. The restaurants and cafés in the neighbourhood can be highly recommended. But, the Boat UK85 smell!!! The smell and vapours of diesel were unbearable. The whole boat was filled with dangerous vapours. Don't think it's healthy. All our clothes still smell of it. There is a need for action. Gladly again, but not if the UK85 stinks like this I would like to give it 5 stars. But when it comes to the smell at most 1 star P.S. No feedback from the owners about the situation

What a special place this is. It reminded me of my childhood in a mobile home in Wexford. While you're not short of everything you need, it is a little rough and ready, but this is what you should expect when booking a barge. It's not a 5 star hotel after all but it definitely deserves a 5 star rating here. The boats are beautiful and have a proper history behind them and are moored in a lovely post industrial area that has been turned into a beautiful, peaceful and serene spot almost in the heart of the city. There's a quirky bar that's very popular and a hidden garden which has been artfully constructed from materials that have been, pre loved, shall we say. The staff, when we saw them, were very friendly and helpful. The area it's situated in, is an up and coming, soon to be gentrified place and we loved the cool bars and restaurants close by. Getting into the city is super easy and buses and trains are regular as clockwork. The longest we had to wait was 8 minutes and that's how long it takes to get to central station. Fantastic. After a busy and hectic day in the city this is a perfect place to relax and have a drink or meal at the bar or on the deck of your boat. Did I mention the sauna on the jetty? Perfect to unwind in and then jump into the canal or the plunge bath. All in all I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

The extraordinary hotel is a good idea and the pictures that the company is advertising with are promising far more than you get for your money. The ship what we booked was broke they said to us when we arrived so we had to take another one which was more nice in their opinion. But as we arrived in the evening and they didn’t inform us before we had no chance to react. The boat we got was lovely prepared and orderly but not really clean. The pillows smelled as if they were not washed a long time ago. In addition we were freezing at night in spite of a heating which is too small to heat the big iron room. We would never book here again. Very sad because it could have been nice if the owners were giving a little more effort.

We stayed on the boat De La Soul. It was magic ! Much better than a modern hotel/guest house. Generous rooms, lovely cosy atmosphere, beautiful views of the canal with water birds and a lightship. The boat even has a large, plush cinema room - wow ! Big hatches and steep ladders to bedrooms and cinema mean that we wouldn't recommend it for toddlers and people with mobility issues. But it's brilliant for adults and older children. You can even swim in the canal, though a shower afterwards is a good idea. If you don't have a car, don 't worry, transport links to the city centre are excellent. If you buy the Iamsterdam ticket, travel is cheaper, but be aware it doesn't cover all buses.

Absolutely stunning views on peaceful, beautifully designed boats. Our family gained peace and energy while we stated here. The hostess is also very friendly and keeps everything very clean. Can not recommend enough.

We stayed on Annelise. It was a lovely boat, beautiful surroundings with a lovely bedroom area with a big double bed. The kitchen was basically a sink, kettle and fridge so not really suitable if you want to stay in and cook a nice lunch or dinner, but perfect for a weekend break to base yourself while going into the city. There is a lovely vegetarian restaurant a stones throw away on the water, and a few other nice cafes etc. The area was private and quiet. A few other boats with families and small group. The city centre is about 15 mins away. ( 10 minute walk to metro and one stop)

Although we really enjoyed the experience of sleeping on a boat, the boat we stayed on was not very clean and was very dusty. The staff was very friendly and really helpful. We are a family of 4 with two adults and two kids (7 & 10). We really enjoyed the restaurant options nearby as well. Although I can’t speak for the other boats I believe ours could have used some updates. Parking was provided and there was a pizza restaurant down the street that the kids enjoyed.

We just stayed on a boat here for two nights and we were pleasantly surprised by how lovely it was. Our boat had plenty of room, multiple beds, a kitchen/dining room, and a double bed room. You don't notice the boat rocking at all. I would give location a 5, but it is a little bit of a walk to the main areas which is quite nice of a walk however!
