Asmundo di Gisira (Catania, Sicily) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Many Sicilian hotels lean into a rustic, unpolished aesthetic, but not Asmundo di Gisira — this Catanian boutique hotel is as cosmopolitan as they come. This 18th-century palazzo in the historic city center, once a bona fide aristocratic residence, has been updated with a dash of modern design and a generous helping of eye-catching contemporary art, the work of an all-star team of architects and artists." - Tablet Hotels

We only stayed at Asmundo for one night on our last day in Catania and wish we had more time at this hotel! It was the perfect location- tons of restaurants right in the area and a minute away from the Duomo. The bed was very comfortable. The building itself is beautiful and each room has an art theme. We really enjoyed the art and room, and the staff was also fantastic . They were very accommodating with arranging our cab early in the morning to the airport. |One tip- when you arrive it is the correct address but the door isn’t a huge sign so it is a small sign with “art gallery”. Press the button they will let you in. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed 3 nights and it was a unique experience. A beautiful former palace now converted into part museum and part hotel. Super stylish and special. Staff were all brilliant, super friendly and helpful and breakfast on the balcony was amazing, both the food and atmosphere. Can’t recommend the hotel enough, located right in the heart of the historic centre near to everything. Thanks for a memorable stay!

This hotel, located in a palazzo, is really unique for its eclectic art collection. You would not expect such a place behind the graffiti facade. Our room was upgraded to the suite on the top floor, which was a very spatious and highly originally decorated floor with a surprise painting in the bedroom. Our daughters too enjoyed their room for its unique decoration and its space. Toiletries are from Ortigia di Sicilia. Breakfast is not a buffet but served at the table. It had everything we needed including freshly squeezed juice and eggs made acc to your wishes. Staff at reception and onboarding was super friendly and helpful!

What an amazing place to stay! From walking through the huge doors you are greeted by an open staircase. Even the reception area is elaborately decorated with so much to see.|We were shown to our room on the top floor. It was bright and clean and the bathroom was huge with a bath and a shower! |There is so much to see on each floor, artworks everywhere, look around a few times or you will miss something!|Breakfast on the veranda was such a wonderful experience, so much delicious food served by some lovely waitresses. Watching Catania wake up whilst enjoying breakfast was so lovely.|The bed was comfortable and we both slept well. |We only stayed in Catania so that we could take a trip to Mount Etna, I wish we could have spent longer at Asmundo di Gisira and enjoyed all that it has to offer. |Street noise could be an issue but I wore ear plugs (husband didn’t) so it didn’t bother me.

We had a fantastic stay. The hospitality was outstanding from start to finish. Communication was clear and helpful both before and during our trip. They went above and beyond by accommodating our very early check-in and helping us navigate the local area. The setting inside an art gallery made the experience truly special, and the price was very reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend!

Google
A truly unique and beautiful place. We stayed in one of the hotel's rooms named "tempo", which was absolutely charming. The original details and overall atmosphere gave the place a lot of character and soul – it felt more like a home than a hotel. The staff were incredibly kind, and the location is very central, making it easy to explore Catania. We’ll definitely stay here again the next time we visit the city.

A unique property located very centrally with a breakfast balcony over the piazza. Great staff and palazzo sized rooms. But be aware that with such a useful location comes some inevitable noise from the nighttime economy and also as the market sets up in the morning.

This hotel is beautiful, with an attentive staff and a GREAT location, steps from the Duomo and the vibrant market (Get the cone of fried fish at Scirroco!). Our room was enormous and beautiful. If we had one quibble it is the lack of table space. I don't know about the rest of you but we have a bunch of stuff that winds up on a flat surface -- phones, receipts, wallets, chargers, hats. There was no place for that to accumulate.
