Asoka Restaurant, Bar and Lounge

We had a wonderful evening at ASOKA. A fabulous and cozy spot with a charming ambiance that sets the mood just right for our winter birthday celebration. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a special night out. Our waitress, Emma, was an absolute star. She was professional, attentive, and friendly, adding to the overall great experience. We were pleasantly surprised with complimentary sparkling wine in celebration of a birthday, which was a lovely touch. We tried their three-course special and really enjoyed it. Everything was fresh and full of flavour. The crispy pork belly was a bit dry and under-seasoned, but the rest of the food made up for it. My only wish is that the portions were slightly more generous, especially considering the pricing. Overall, still a lovely experience and I’d definitely go back!

The service was just as impressive. The waitresses were not only attentive but also absolutely gorgeous, complementing the entire vibe of the place. Now let’s talk about the food - divine! Every dish was bursting with flavor and so perfectly seasoned. It’s rare to find a place where the atmosphere and the menu are in complete harmony, but Asoka nails it effortlessly. Honestly, this was one of the best experiences I’ve had since moving to Cape Town, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Drinks like the Komodo Dragon and Porn Star Martini are both visually appealing and delicious, enhancing the overall dining experience. The service is attentive and knowledgeable, contributing to a seamless evening from start to finish. As the night progresses, the venue transforms into a lively lounge with music and a vibrant crowd, making it an ideal spot for both dinner and late-night socializing. For fellow travelers seeking a memorable night out in Cape Town, Asoka is a must-visit. Its unique blend of ambiance, cuisine, and music offers an experience that lingers long after the night ends.

Amazing vibe, and without a doubt some of the best cocktails in Cape Town. It can get full on a Tuesday but it becomes a great vibe if that’s your thing. Perfect place to go to start your evening, beautiful people, great music and this is a fact for both Asoka and Kloof Street House - they have the best service and servers at any restaurant or bar in town. I would suggest booking in advance, I’ve gone a few times without booking and I don’t always get the table I want, and especially if you’re going in a large group.

We had an amazing evening at Asoka, filled with so many wonderful details. First of all, I highly recommend trying their Malva Pudding, it was truly one of the best I’ve ever had. The other dishes we sampled from the menu were also full of flavor, clearly crafted with care and attention. The wine selection was impressive too, with beautiful tastes that perfectly complemented the evening. I absolutely loved the ambiance. Especially on live music night, the atmosphere was vibrant and soulful, it really lifted our spirits. The service was equally outstanding: professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. For me, Asoka deserves a solid 5 stars for ambiance, food, and service.

This place is just the vibe. Lighting inside just sets the tone for a cosy ambient experience. Great Martinis, delicious food, excellent service, beautiful & friendly waitresses and overall just an amazing night spot when visiting Cape Town. 😉.

Fabulous and cozy place withsich delicious foods. The price is reasonable and love their food taste. the staffs are beautiful and professional. Great vibe and atmosphere. I just wish their foods portions were a bit more and bigger. I love this place anyway.

We can still confirm after our second visit in 7 years, Asoka is our favourite restaurant! Uniquely flavourful dishes. (Seared Teriyaki Beef is a must) Excellent service with superb attention to patron’s needs (Isabelle and Violet are fantastic) and the perfect romantic night out in one of the most beautiful restaurants Cape Town has to offer. Don’t think about it, just book.
