The old-style wooden shutters didn’t close properly over the full-height windows, leaving large gaps that allowed streetlight to seep in at night, making the room too bright. The area was also too noisy, and even a white noise machine couldn’t provide much relief for sleeping.
We traveled with our 6-month-old baby, and the apartment we received (1B) was different from what was advertised in the photos on booking.com. There were no room-darkening curtains, and no safe. The old wooden shutters behind the windows couldn’t close properly, leaving large gaps. Not only could we not make the room dark for the baby, but we could also be easily seen from outside. When I contacted customer service, I was told I was the first person to complain about visibility issues. After a long conversation, they moved us to another unit (unit 1C) the next day.
When we checked in, we realized there was no safe in the apartment. We contacted customer service and were told the safes were under routine maintenance. It's unclear why they scheduled this during the high season without informing guests in advance. After further discussion, they brought us a portable safe the following day.
