"The drive from Launceston through the Tamar River Valley meanders for 37 miles past orchards, lavender farms, and more than 30 vineyards. For good vibes alongside your cool-climate wines, head to Goaty Hill, which occupies a beautiful perch in Kayena. The chalet-style Jansz cellar door, or tasting room, pours premium sparkling wines, and Holm Oak Vineyards is loved for its pinot noir, chardonnay, and cider. The mascot there is a well-fed pig named Pinot, and kids are encouraged to toss apples to him over the fence. End the day at Narawntapu National Park for a picnic and bubbles overlooking Badger Head and the Bass Strait."

Staying in a studio apartment here for a fortnight while we visit family. CANNOT fault any of the staff at any of the establishment. Reception are super helpful and diligent. The operators of the on site bakery, sweet shop, amusement arcade, spash golf, mini-golf and gift shop/ boutique are ALL always cheerful, courteous and willing to help. Personal fave... The bacon and egg muffin for breakfast at the bakery... 😉 The staff at the Aspenrose, the on-site bar and restaurant deserve a special mention. The guys and girls there are truly wonderful! Always smiling and will literally bend over backwards to accommodate their customers. (Not a metaphor - I've seen it happen for an errant runaway birthday party balloon 😉) The meals are always top notch and great value for money. (Hint: if you want a superb steak... You can't go wrong here!!) The whole resort, I'll admit, isn't immaculate. There are a few very minor issues with the upkeep of the cabins and chalets (I can't speak for the main building, I'm not staying there) ... But it doesn't profess to be 5 Star... It is a family oriented resort and to that end, they are right up there in the top 5% of the batting order. It's cosy, comfortable, affordable, and surprisingly homey.... and let's be honest...would you want your kids to be trapped in a modern, super flash award winning building or do you want them to get out in the fresh air and enjoy the pedal carts and boats and feel free enough to laugh out loud without upsetting the other guests? No... I didn't think so. For families, Tamar Valley Resort is a must do for any trip to Tassie...

Great location and very friendly service. As many have mentioned the rooms are in need of major reno, along with the swimming and spa facilities. The restaurant gave us mixed msgs with the waitresses mentioning they were open for brekkie on Xmas day, but seemed to be closed when we went there. Overall it was a good experience, as the location is fantastic and plenty of outdoor things to do.

We had a chance to dine at their restaurant, although we did not stay at their resort, and it was great. The overall experience was wonderful and we would definitely love to visit in future. Beautiful location with so much green. Definitely a place to visit, if you are visiting Launceston.

While this place has plenty of activities, it is not worth the cost to stay. The place look like it hasn't been upgraded since the 90s and has lots of warn areas and needs a good paint everywhere. The pool was dirty and the floor was gritty, the spa as green with a brown ring around the top of the water level. While the rooms themselves were newish, it was not suitable for a family of 4. They charge $20 for the cleaners to wash the dishes and there were at crawling up and down our wall. Some positives were the splash golf ($18), the mini golf and the peddle boats and bikes.

Really tired room. Advertised for 4 people, but there was only one towel rail, no table and you couldn't sit on the couch if someone was standing by the sink the room was so small. The basin was so small that you literally couldn't even fit a toothpaste tube on it. Not even a box of tissues, just a handbag pack of 10. 'Golf side villa' and we had a view of a pine tree right out the door. No extra pillows would have been handy, Kmart electric blankets and a lot of wall damage. The pool and sauna are screaming for upgrades. The ceiling was leaking, theres mould around the doors and the spa looked green. Wasn't brave enough to get in. Restaurant was nice but overpriced. Nice area for families, but im not sure I'd rush back to the accommodation.

This was my first time in Tasmania, and I absolutely fell in love with this beautiful place! It's as if I was suddenly transported to Holland...the designs of the building were magical...definitely a place for everyone, especially for families...there is a lot for everyone to enjoy and unwind...The bakery for brakfast, the most unique icecream flavours (mine was the chocolate licorice😋) I especially enjoyed the early morning walk around this cute village, taking in the crisp cool air and enjoying watching the sunrise off Tamarhorn lookout. I let myself loose in the giftshop and found something for all my family. I booked the small single room outside. It was clean and comfortable but not on the luxurious side. It did the job of sheltering me for a few days. I wonder what the other rooms in the bigger units around look like, for next time!

We stayed here for our 10 year wedding anniversary this weekend and the resort went above and beyond to give us the most wonderful stay with our children. They even treated us to a beautiful gift in our cabin on arrival. So many things to do, both paid and unpaid. We absolutely love it here and stay here frequently due to the amount of fun we all have during our stay! THANK YOU :D

Great place, beautiful views with quite alot to explore, very friendly staff. Now the bad part.. i dont think i would ever eat from the bistro again if i came back to stay. $27 Premium Beef burger that was anything but premium... i could pay $10 at McDonalds and get a burger thats nicer to eat. (Side note chips were great)
