Talk about an epic trip! When in CO just go with AWR! Class act. River guide Sam was a blast. While professional and giving clear instructions, Sam felt like our friend by the end of the trip. She was wonderful and just what you want in a River guide. Jim was awesome! Thanks for making sure we had all the equipment we needed and the amazing Sammies! We will be back next season. Maybe with kids next time. Thank you.

My husband and I went out of the Slaughterhouse run in early June and had a great experience. The staff was very helpful with information and kind; our guides Lenny and Danny were also very knowledgeable and made us very comfortable considering all of the rapids we went through! 10/10 recommend!

Lenny was awesome! We had the best time. Definitely highly recommend and will do it every time we come. They had us very well prepared and it was non stop laughs and fun.

Emma was great!! Took care of us the whole way. Excellent experience on the water! Shy people beware that you may have to shed your dignity and change behind a tree. They will provide you with everything to keep you warm as possible. So keep your clothing to a minimum!

These guys are awesome. We go every year in July with a large group. Charles, Lenny and the crew do a solid job getting everything organized, getting us through the rapids, keeping us safe but exciting! They’ll share their corny jobs to and from the area. Very organized and you can tell they love what they do. Consistently a good time each year. Highly recommend! Leave them a good tip, they’re worth it!

We had awesome experience with Aspen Whitewater Rafting, they are very professional and experienced team. It was our first experience of rafting with our 16 yr & 8 yr old. They suggested us the best trip ( Upper roaring fork) which was suitable with our kids since our 16 yr old wanted to be adventurous and keeping our 8 yr old safe. Eike is the best guide, he was constantly making sure that my younger one is safe and also having fun. I strongly recommend Aspen whitewater rafting.! They are best!!

Rob and Joe were awesome and knowledgeable guides and a lot of fun for me and my family. We went on a level 2 whitewater raft for a couple of hours and they had safety down as well as pointing local points of interest along the river, birds etc. Highly recommend! My 5 year old thought it was great fun.

Had a trip to Colorado in the summer. Month of Aug 2024. Amazing time. Our guide Caleb was great. Explained to us how to raft and be safe. As this was our first time doing this activity. Just got back to our bnb after rafting! We're visiting and this was our first time so we didn't really know what to expect, but the experience far exceeded our expectations. We went on a level 4 and our guide, Calvin, was exceptional and made it all go super smoothly! 11/10 recommendation - would give 6 stars if possible‼

We went at the beginning of the season on a Class 2 - 3 rapid. Really fun ride and our guide was very nice. I had never been white water rafting before and we had a nice day on the Roaring Fork River. There were a few things that brought the stars down from 5 to 4: 1. They picked us up at our hotel, which was nice. We were on time however the other family that was going with us was running really late so we sat in a parking lot for at least 30 minutes waiting for them. 2. The way I read the info beforehand, I thought there would be a place to change from our wet clothes after we got done, but there was not. Just a gross portapotty at the site. 3. There was a family on the bus with us, of which a few were not wearing their masks. We did have snacks on the way back, but the company told us to put on our masks after we ate. So our family did so. But half of the the other family did not, and when asked to put their masks back on they laughed and made snarky comments. It made for an uncomfortable ride back home. Overall a fun day, just a few things they should work in IMHO.

Charles & Olivia were charming and such a fun! I never felt unsafe at any point which was also good for rafting haha Would definitely recommend for family groups specifically. They were personal with us and made it a joy. Plus we went what seemed was much further than any of the other groups! So a really full experience of the browns canyon. Tip! If you dry easily- especially your legs- bring lotion! It'll save your calves after

Chris Edmonds took my family of 5 out yesterday afternoon. Ages range from 72-9 yo. We had the BEST experience! We've rafted with other tour companies but this was our favorite float. We did the upper roaring fork, class 3, it was BEAUTIFUL and full of fun. Chris, Leighia, and Sarah with AWR were funny, informative, and well trained. We were in great hands! We look forward to taking another tour next season.

Great trip down the Arkansas river. Charles was an excellent guide and made a couple new rafters spend the drive home talking about where we were going to raft next. Everyone was super nice and supportive. Great equipment and all had very good knowledge of the river.

Faboulous exprierence rafting the Colorado River under the guidance of Sam. Level 3 rapids for beginners was perfect under Sam's coaching and navigating the big stuff in the river. His great knowledge of the surrounding town's history was a huge plus as you make your way down the river, and loved his sense of humor. 5 out of 5 stars for Sam and AWR Company. Aug 28, 2022

We hired this company to go paddle boarding. Unfortunately, the day we were supposed to go on our adventure, it was pouring down rain (even the gondolas on the mountain were shut down, due to lightening in the area). When we went to the Aspen Whitewater Rafter shop and told them we didn't feel safe paddle boarding (while holding a metal paddle during a thunderstorm!) they told us that they have a 48 hour cancellation policy, and refused to refund us our money. After a LONG discussion with the owner, he allowed us to rebook for a later date - the only problem with that was the fact that we were leaving town before the rescheduled date. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS COMPANY if you fear weather may interrupt your plans. You will absolutely not get your money refunded, and the staff/owner will treat you with the utmost disrespect. I was disgusted by how we were spoken to, and astonished that they would be willing to risk our safety and send us out into a thunderstorm, just to make an extra buck. Disgusting.

Monica and Ted were awesome guides. We did mellow class 2 trip. Monica guides us perfectly into the best water. Will look forward to class 3 trip w these guys next time.

The Aspen Whitewater Rafting team were excellent and delivered a great experience to our entire family. Set up, instruction and fun attitude we're all greatly appreciated. Braiden was both super fun and experienced. Scott was awesome as well. We'll be back next year to try level 5! Cheers

We did Brown's Canyon with Lenny as our guide. Having done some rafting in the past, Lenny was hands down the best guide my family and I have ever had! He was very personable and professional, well organized and knowledgeable about the river and what he was doing, and great at communicating what he wanted the raft crew to do. Overall, I highly recommend running rivers in Colorado with Aspen Whitewater Rafting, the company as a whole is first class, and ask for Lenny!

What a great multi-generational activity! I'm a grandma in her mid 60's and I went rafting with my daughter and her 10 year old and 7 year old. We had an absolute blast! Chris was our awesome leader. The children had so much fun jumping into the water and the Class 3 rapids were perfect ! We'll be back next year

I went on the class 3 upper roaring fork morning excursion and had an amazing time! I'm not a thrill seeker, and was definitely scared to go whitewater rafting for a first time. The trip was so much fun that my mom and I wanted to go again immediately after it ended. Highly recommend this company! They picked us up at our hotel in Snowmass and dropped us off. They took pictures that we could purchase online later in the day. The tour guide was friendly and helpful. 5/5 must do!!

We got a great experience for a first time doing rafting! They are super friendly and fun! They explain all information we need to know very clearly and understandable! We're beyond amazed about this place we will definitely coming back with them!

We had an issue with our group and couldn't make the trip. Had to cancel last minute day of and the owner was super accommodating and gave a refund.

Had the best time rafting on the Middle Roaring Fork River. The Class 2 rapids were perfect for those in our group who were first timers, but it was still a blast even for those who are used to Class 3+ rapids. Colby was a great guide, he was helpful and conscious of all skill levels and told the best jokes as we were making our way down to the bottom. All of the staff were the perfect mix of professional and fun. So happy with our trip, we will definitely come back! Thank you to the AWR team for making this experience so fun and memorable!

Our family of 4 spent the morning stand-up paddle boarding with our guide, Mike. It was our first experience paddle boarding and Mike was incredibly patient, helpful and fun! Our daughter is 12 years old and caught on pretty quickly but our 10 year-old son was a bit nervous. Mike helped him through the tricky parts and ended up paddling him most of the way. The scenery down the Roaring Fork River was beautiful and Mike made it a perfect family activity. We had a great experience all around!

I had a great time at Aspen Whitewater rafting! My friends and I went with our work, Theatre Aspen, and had an amazing time on our boat. Our whole company enjoyed it, but our boat especially enjoyed Brad. He was charming and handsome. I fell out and he helped me. Thank you.

Amazing time white water rafting! I did the class 4 called slaughterhouse and had a blast. Our instructor, Brad, was personable and informative. My biggest concern was that I get winded easily especially since I'm in high altitude and just came from Texas but there were a lot of beautiful stopping points and parts of the river were calm enough for us just to float. I will definitely be coming back and I recommend anyone looking for a thrilling time to try it out!

We had an incredible day on the water! One that we will never forget thanks to Nick are incredible guide! Nick went way beyond the call of duty and made our trip/adventure one that I will cherish for years to come. I am neck really made the whole thing come together! My family had a great time on the Fractions on the Arkansas trip. Our guide, Chris E., was excellent at helping us navigate the rapids and telling us about the area. Everyone from my 7-year-old son to my 70-year-old dad had an awesome time and said it was one of the most fun days during our trip to Aspen. Plus the river was stunning. I highly recommend Aspen Whitewater Rafting for their great trip, knowledgable and skilled guides, and overall fun adventure!

Had a guided tour: water was great, nice time, but the guide didn't help beyond loading the paddle boards in/out. We had two rookies and luckily we showed them the ropes. At the end we begged photos- she took and still hoping she sends. No water/snacks etc. Lot less service than other companies (Elk Mtn last year) offer

The rafting trip with Aspen Whitewater was perfect for our family. Mark, our guide, was engaging from the moment we left the shop through his explanation of the Roaring Forks River. (Plus being a certified EMT helped). While it was July, there was still enough "adventure" with the Class 3 rapids for our suburban teenage children and weekend warrior want-a-be parents. The safety instructions were fine, but they may want to explain more about handling falling into cold water. Riding upfront in the raft you have your breath taken away when the first wall of water goes over you. The other suggestion is invest in a photographer. Using a point and shot and charging $40 seems a little out of whack. Overall, we would strongly recommend Aspen Whitewater Rafting. Locally owned and staffed with people who are part of and know the Aspen community, they really take pride in offering a fun day for your family.

My group of 8 went on a ducky kayak trip this morning with Scott and Mike. They were incredible!!!!! Very friendly and knowledgeable. You will not be disappointed!!

Tons of fun and a great trip! I did the Slaughterhouse Falls on the Roaring Fork (class IV) and had a blast. I had only done one other rafting trip before and it was class III and this was definitely a step up in intensity, but way fun. The guides were all great and gave excellent instruction. It's a bit pricey, but that's to be expected for a great rafting trip and they also provide all equipment (wetsuit, booties, splash jacket, PFD, and helmet, which was all needed since the water's about 38 degrees and the air was only about 70 degrees!). Tons of fun and I highly recommend these folks!

We did the medium level class 3. August was perfect weather and we saw tons of Osprey. Our guide Mikey was super informative and funny, while keeping us on the right path. My mom and I felt super safe. Would definitely recommend.

I'm fairly certain this is the Rafting Company we used over Labor Day weekend... My family and I were staying in the Snowmass area and booked one of these trips for Saturday afternoon. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. The guides (Liam and Sarah?), were very friendly and excelled at making the experience a pleasant one. Having never rafted before, the moments leading up to the trip were somewhat nerve-wracking with all the emphatic safety protocols and talk of what to do if you fall out of your raft, but it turns out there was little reason for worry, especially on the level 2-3 rapids we were doing that day. Since we were all first-timers and this was a family trip, we opted for the tame route, but our guide told my brother and me that if we had planned the trip ourselves, they'd have pushed for us to do the level 4 rapids. That probably would have been a bit more exhilarating and more of a workout, but it was probably smart to get the lazy trip out of the way first, just so we had an idea about what to expect. Our guide did most of the work. We only had to paddle for moments at a time, but it was still a lot of fun and the scenery along the river was beautiful. We even stopped our boats at one point and waded out into the water. Not really knowing the Aspen-Snowmass area, we found our guides were also very helpful in giving suggestions for restaurants of interest in the area. I would definitely use this company again.

We had a great time on our rafting trip this morning through the "Numbers" stretch of this Arkansas River. I was the one person "new" to rafting in our group, and a bit apprehensive leading into the trip. Our guide, Scott, did a great job easing our concerns, educating us on techniques and risks, while also coaching us through some tricky stretches of the river. What a blast! I also enjoyed hoping into the water for during a calm section to cool off. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend! Thanks!

Aspen white water is by far the best company in the roaring fork valley. Super fun crew of gentlemen! They are very detailed in explaining how to run the roaring fork. The are very detailed at teaching you how to be safe on the river. We had the pleasure to be guided by a true gentlemen and scholar named Kevin Cordova . This kid had us shaking n baking all the way down the lower roaring fork. One of the coolest cats I know. I would choose him to be my guide again. Great job boys! Ryan Boudreau- Aspenweather.net

Had a great time out on the water during the early trip (level 3). Our guide was Scott and it was awesome. A group of 4 of us had our own boat which meant we could play around a little more on the water. Scott was great and the water was definitely cold but uber refreshing.

This was my first time rafting and I had the best time. Our leader Scott made the whole trip educational as well as thrilling.

If you're contemplating going on a rafting trip while in Aspen, don't even think twice and BOOK IT! Truly the highlight of our trip. Our guide, Shannon, was excellent. I truly cannot thank him enough for his light hearted encouragement and knowledge during our trip. He made it a serious workout but we laughed the entire way down our Slaughterhouse trip. The entire group we worked with was great and super helpful. Hope to come back soon to take another trip!

We just got back from our whitewater rafting trip 5/30/14 on the Raging Fork River, Slaughterhouse Falls. We definitely chose an intermediate, if not advanced trip, with many class IV+ rapids, perhaps even class V in these weather conditions. On our particular day, the river was high and moving extremely fast at 38F degrees. We checked in and boarded a bus to the opening of the river. We received extensive safety talks and got geared up. Our main guide was Mark who was amazing, but all the guides were great. Our trip was extremely challenging and thrilling. There were many technically difficult rapids and falls. The scenery was beautiful. Our boat did flip over and we fell out, but the rescue was organized and swift. Nobody was lost or injured, though we all agreed it was one of the scariest points in our lives! Mark gave great direction and instruction throughout. At the end, we enjoyed snacks and local beers as a group. We bought photos of our experiences. While I would not recommend this trip to anyone in poor physical shape - you really need to be sharp and an excellent swimmer to choose this difficult level of a trip - we had a blast and are glad we did it!!! I know that easier trips were available but of course my group wanted a challenge :)

My wife and I just got off the Arkansas River after an awesome full day Brown's Canyon trip. Our guide, Scott (& Margaret) did a great job navigating us down the river and provided great stories and area information on our trip to and from Aspen. AWR provided wetsuits, booties, splash guards and fleece to keep us comfortable throughout the day. Scott provided a tasty lunch along the river since it hit the spot after a fun morning run on the river. I highly recommend Aspen Whitewater Rafting if you're looking fun a great time on a beautiful river.
