I’ve been going to Assembly for over two years, starting with the College location. Over time I’ve seen the studio add more and more value to the membership with new equipment, expanded schedules, and a good variety of styles. I’ve taken 350+ classes and it’s been different every single time (!), while always building core skills on the reformer. The unlimited membership is a fantastic deal if you go often.
For first-timers, I’d recommend taking a Foundations class with Jackie or Manny (both instructors provide a lot of hands-on corrections and are very particular about form, in a good way), or Clio to get a sense of the Assembly “house style.” Emma & Natalie both lead with a nice, calming flow, and Katherine’s strength class was a highlight for me this week. Ciara is a master at progressively layering difficulty, and you like a super high-energy/pumping-music type of experience, don’t miss Kristin on Tuesdays.
All of the instructors offer options and ways to build on exercises so that you can decide what level of challenge you’re up for that day.
One last anecdote to finish off this long review :) In the early days of the College location, I noticed the owner Clio wearing some cute branded socks. I asked if I could buy some too, and she said she needed to test that pair first to make sure they lasted before making them available to clients. This commitment to quality really shines through every aspect of the studio.
Assembly has made such a huge difference to my mobility, enjoyment of other sports and overall wellbeing. I truly can’t recommend it enough!
