Astoria Hotel - Kolkata

THE WORST HOTEL EVER!!! The reception is very very greedy. They will make you pay extra falsely. I already paid full rent amounting Rs 2,300 online on Agoda but the receptionist denied the booking online and said we will get the refund and asked us to pay upfront again which was again Rs 2600. It was night time and I was with my partner so for her safety I paid again but then the next day the hotel denied the refund which was made online. So I ended up paying Rs 4,900 for a cheap third class room which was also dirty. I would advise everyone to not waste your money here. I am really shocked to experience such harassment, never staying here again.

We were looking for a clean hotel near New Market, we found Astoria Hotel just 5 minutes walking distance. Our room was clean, comfortable and budget friendly. I did lot of shopping during our 4 night stay, and the staff was very supportive and helpful. Location is very convenient so we had no problem to find a rickshaw or taxi at any point of time. We will definitely visit again. Thanks

It is safe. It is central to all the main locations. Friendly staff. Rooms are minimal but it's good enough if you're going to be outdoors all day. Everything is available around the hotel. Shopping and food is numero uno.

The location of the hotel is quite good as it is at walking distance from Esplanade shopping area and the service provided is hospitable. The staff was quite friendly. Stay was good.

Bathroom was flooded after every shower. All staffs and support staffs are awesome.

I mean according to the price I would say the room was not up to the mark and the ac remote was not working and they did not notify us abt that.
