We found a little gem right in the historic centre of Sorrento.|We stayed in room 108. The room is fairly small, due to the old building, but nicely decorated and immaculate clean. I love Italian tiled floors with a nice sized bathroom and a gorgeous balcony out into the court yard where the bar and restaurant is.|The first evening we had a meal there and it was delicious. This court yard is a little oasis of peace with very decent prices for example a glass of their nice house wine is €3. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I have not remembered all names but our thanks go to Rachele, Valentina, Antonino, Raffaele, Fabbio and all the others.|2 minor things, where the hotel could improve, but nothing, that spoils your holiday: breakfast : in a 4 star hotel, I expected a better choice of cold meat and cheese. I told them and on our last morning, there was a bit more. Otherwise the breakfast is delicious with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, nice bread and a bean to cup coffee machine, that uses real milk. The other thing, I would have expected where some toiletries. There is only soap and shampoo - so bring your own conditioner or body lotion.|My husband uses a light weight mobility scooter. The elevator in the hotel is big enough to drive into it. The only problem is actually the little street from the hotel to the closest square - which are cobble stones. once on this square , he was fine and this is off course not the fault of the hotel.|I liked to cool off in their small plunge pool too.|All in all we really enjoyed our stay there and can recommend this family run hotel.

This hotel is has a fantastic location it is easy to visit the main tourist spots such as Pompei, Amalfi coast, Positano and Capri Island. The port is a short walk away use the lift and you are in the heart of Sorrento for lots of restaurants and historical sites. |The hotel staff are friendly and the hotel is very clean and cosy. The garden is beautiful and a nice quiet place to get a drink and relax after a busy day of sight seeing. I highly recommend this hotel

We both loved our holiday staying here recently, first time to Italy and will definitely stay here again. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much. The room was spotless as the whole hotel. The food was so wonderful and plenty of choice especially at breakfast. Right in the heart of Sorrento so enjoyed every moment. The garden is so beautiful and the jasmine smelt wonderful. First time I've been under lemon trees.

Very comfortable huge room well appointed. Breakfast was plentiful but stay out when the tour groups are there. They have happy hour 24/7 with the regular cocktails. The staff were quirky but endearing. There’s a garden to sit in and drink or a pool area that was also lovely. Busy part of town and in the thick of it but would stay again.

This gorgeous hotel made our holiday perfect . It is located in the heart of Sorrento , everything you could possibly want is on the doorstep . Surrounded by shops , endless restaurants and small food and drink businesses. The sea is only minutes away , making it perfect for the port , where the fast ferries and other boats are . They ran all day every day , making day trips a breeze. We visited Positano and Amalfi in a day on the regular fast ferry, costing 90 euro for the both of us. The train station is also close by . We took the train to Pompeii . |Our room at the Astoria was perfect , spotlessly clean, plenty of cupboard space and drawers, mirrors everywhere, great shower and a mini fridge . Tv didn't work (no signal) but we weren't there to watch tv , so this wasn't worth asking reception to fix . We had a lovely balcony, it looked onto other properties gardens / patios, again we didn't mind this , it was peaceful and a sun trap . We were hardly in our room , as we loved the roof terrace with sun loungers and a little plunge pool , which we loved , as we didn't want to actually swim , we just needed it to cool off in and relax with the sun on your face . The terrace was peaceful, loved listening to the local bells ringing . If you want drinks from the reception bar /or garden bar pm , you go and ask for what you want , then they bring it to you , we were always on the pool terrace, you get free nibble snacks too , we loved that . You give your room number and pay at the end of your stay , you get a receipt for your own records . Drinks were a good price , like a glass of house wine was only 3 euros and it was a full glass . No one bothers to claim sunloungers, think I counted 14 in total . People come and go , and you can easily move your lounger to follow the sun if you want , or enjoy the heat but in the shade . Ignore the surrounding buildings needing repairs or painted , it is what it is and isn't the responsibility of the hotel . If you want sea views stay high up on a cliff , but if you want town centre feels and noise and the perfect place to stay , this is it . The staff here are lovely , extremely helpful . Everywhere is clean . We stayed on a B&B basis , the breakfast was great , plenty to choose from. A help yourself buffet . The fruit was gorgeous, bacon , sausage (frankfurter style) , scrambled eggs , cold meats and cheese, cakes , boiled eggs , yoghurt, cereals , coffee machine, fresh juices , bread ....I could go on but you get the idea . Loved how breakfast was served 7am to 10am too , again no rush . Loads of tables and you can take it outside too in the lovely garden they have . It's very laid back . We felt very comfortable. Our room was cleaned every day , fresh towels and beds spotless . They did start room cleans early , we just popped our do not disturb sign outside the door if we were still in . We were in room 310 on level 3 of 4 , the lift was very handy . The air conditioning is controlled by reception, not manually in your room , you just let them know if it's right for you . Nothing is to much trouble. We couldn't be happier having stayed here , a real gem in the most perfect location . We are done with hotels that are 15 + minutes walk into town etc , we want it on our doorstep , and this beautiful little gem had exactly that . Would we stay again ? 100% yes we would . Loved everything about it . Can't comment on the restaurant food as we ate out on an evening, but it looked lovely . Hotel Astoria , you've been superb xx

This is a hidden gem 😁 Really cosy and clean family driven hotel. Because it's right in the charming (and authentic) old part of Sorrento, you need to walk the last 100 meters from Piaza St. Antonino. So this is not a handicap friendly hotel, due to the placement, but this is the only minus. Also on a personal note (me being a "big" person, I felt accommodated with large chairs and big a shower).

Great location in centre of Sorrento .Staff are very friendly and helpful.Breakfast buffet good and worth taking in the first floor garden which is delightful. Bedroom and bathroom rather small with thin walls , rather dated . Nice plunge pool and terrace. If you’re looking for an hotel near restaurants, the bus and railway stations , you can’t go wrong with this place .

This hotel was not a great as I expected at all. The main reason being the bed, which was stiff as a board, likely the cheapest option on the market; and instead of being a true King bed, it's two doubles pushed together. The first night was very tough and I could hardly get sleep. The location is great and my room was relatively quiet. The hotel seems to have invested in things like newly tiled bathrooms, but unfortunately not in the beds, which to me is key to a good hotel room. Not having a good bed is like going to a restaurant which great silverware and fine china, only to find out the food is inedible.
