I had the great pleasure of staying at Astoria with family for a week in November. The hotel is greatly situated right at the city center at walking distance to restaurants, shops and the beach. The rooms are nice and clean and the hotel offers great Italian food with a possibility to eat in the beautiful garden at warmer temperatures. There is also a pool at the roof top, great for sunbathing in private! Most of all, the reason I came back to Sorrento and Astoria every year is because of the extraordinary staff. Very friendly, professional and always make you feel like home! Thank you to the staff for a wonderful stay, hoping to see you again this summer!

I should start by saying that a major positive about this hotel is the location, it is perfectly situated to explore the centre of Sorrento and to get to everything. Bars/shops/gelato right on your doorstep which is great! ||The room itself was fine - but I think we really got lucky with having 502 which was an ample size, we walked past a lot of the other rooms when they were being cleaned and they were very very small. It was also very noisy outside (our room faced the square) but the hotel can’t be blamed for this and I think you need to expect that in a central location. We heard other people say the walls were paper thin but we only had one neighbouring room so didn’t experience this. If you’re going to stay here, try to request 504 or 502! ||Breakfast was absolutely horrendous - I like to think I’m easy to please but I genuinely cant fathom how any previous guests have praised the breakfast. The ‘hot’ section (bacon, eggs, sausages) was always stone cold even when we went first thing; the scrambled egg had shells in it (I heard one guest mention this to staff and the response was a shrug) - the pastries were never properly cooked and my husband had a bad stomach after eating one. The fruit selection was rubbish and after seeing the older gentleman who works there sneeze directly over it - I stuck to cereal every morning. It was really the worst breakfast we’ve ever had at a hotel. ||Staff weren’t unpleasant but came across a bit short at times, definitely not very welcoming! I also feel very sorry for the poor fish in the tiny fish tank next to the Concierge desk because it is far too small for a fish that size and the poor thing looked so depressed just bumping into the sides (he was about half the length of the tank so couldn’t even swim about properly) - please get a bigger tank if you’re going to have fish!!||All in all, a good base to explore Sorrento but I wouldn’t stay here again based on the breakfast - we don’t expect perfection but it would’ve been nice to fill up on edible food before heading out each day!! I would say this is more a 2/3 star hotel too but appreciate different countries have different standards.

Great hotel in a brilliant location to see everything from the port to bars and restaurants. All within a short distance. Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast and was plentiful. Rafael made our day each morning with his cheery attitude. Other staff were always pleasant. The small plunge pool was great after a long day walking and the terrace was great to sunbathe. Hotel was very clean and tidy. I didn't feel the room to be too small and the balcony was great overlooking the garden area. We had dinner in the hotel and it was lovely, drinks were the cheapest around, 5 euros for Limoncello Spritz, 3 euros for glass of wine. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great hotel in Sorrento! You're just minutes away from the beach, shopping, and great food options. The room is spacious, with ample furniture storage, and the bathroom is larger than most European hotel bathrooms. The AC works great. My only complaint is that our hotel room is right outside the elevator and stairs, so people constantly hit our door and wake us up. On the bright side, they do have a nice pool and garden area where you can relax and have a drink. Despite the noise issue, we would stay here again.

This family run hotel offers a ' great stay ' ... we have stayed there several times and they never disappoint. Very good service from the front desk to the dining room, to the maid service. Their breakfasts are hearty with many offerings ... the staff ... so friendly, and helpful. This hotel has one of the best locations in Sorrento as it is in the heart of the town. ||Enjoy all that it has to offer ...

Amazing hotel in town center. Great breakfast, staff was extremely helpful. Clean, well-appointed lobby and restaurant. Rachele was so good to us with hints about restaurants, sites, and making arrangements. She was the best. The pool was small but clean and welcoming on our hot days.

This was our third and not our last stay at this perfect little hotel. Nestled right in the center of the bustling cobblestone streets with numerous shops, cafes and restaurants. The hotel is spotless, with a beautiful garden courtyard. The rooms with the garden view terrace are magical although one overlooking the street are also charming. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. We were treated like family. Rachele made sure our stay was perfect and arranged everything for us. Breakfast is perfect and staff are so helpful. We cannot say enough about this beautiful, authentic Italian hotel we have come to love. Thanks so much to everyone who made our stay so memorable. ||Toni Lynne & Presley

Good Location, however , reception staff upon arrival somewhat curt . Our room was near to the lift shaft which can be noisy. Breakfast was amongst one of the worst offerings at this level of hotel that I have seen. Overall, I would only entertain the notion of a return if the price was very competitive as the location is convenient .
