Seriously cool gym that has everything you could need for a really solid workout. Staff and owner have been super cool and are actively adding equipment (while taking input from the folks who go here). The space is dope and everyone’s really respectful of the equipment.

Great basement gym with everything you need to do most standard weightlifting programs. Everyone I've met there has been super respectful so it's easy to share the space. The space branding is a fun bonus!

Astro Gym is the perfect place to workout. It has all the things you’d need for a great workout without all the unnecessary stuff and large crowds you’d experience at one of those chain gyms. The best part is John. I’ve been working with John for years — even before Astro Gym opened. He provides superb support and motivation for anyone trying to better themselves. His knowledge of the body and various muscle groups really amplifies his training sessions because he knows what works for you. Along with his expertise, he’s super personable and easy to talk to, which is especially helpful during those “tough training days” when you may feel like giving up. I've been going to this gym for right about a year now, and I can't say enough positive things about it. There are options for working out on your own or with a trainer. The equipment is chosen well to maximize workout options without overcrowding the space, and the space is consistently improving with new equipment or decorations. Finally and most importantly the people at Astro (owner, trainers and patrons) are pleasant and respectful.

Just moved to Philly and I'm glad I decided to check this place out! Even though the space is on the smaller side, it has everything I need and still never gets too crowded. I have never been stuck waiting for equipment to open up. The owner, John, is very friendly and plays some great music while he's around. He also keeps the gym clean and well maintained. Overall a fantastic place to workout and I'm very happy I switched from the Anytime Fitness membership I had before.

I really like this gym and the owner John is very nice. I am a runner and felt very uncomfortable by gyms - they are not my happy place the trails are, but John was very welcoming and showed me the equipment and also there is almost no one here when I work out so I feel less weird about it. I really like having access 24/7 so I can come whenever I want. Also despite it being small there’s really nothing I would add to this gym and I’ve never waited for equipment. My roommate has even thought about leaving planetfitness and joining. Reasonably priced in my opinion, I can afford 40$ a month even on a student budget.

Before finding Astro gym I was very intimidated in a gym setting and didn't enjoy working out. I've been coming to Astro gym now for almost three years and it has completely changed the way I view working out. Its the perfect small scale gym with all the equipment you need to get in a great workout while also feeling super comfortable and respected. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a gym with a great atmosphere that's open 24/7
