Astroea Beach Mauritius

We were very disappointed with the room. The hotel itself has a beautiful beach and clear water. We booked deluxe sea view room for a night. There was water leaking from the bathroom into the bedroom (just right next to the bed). The staff told us the way out was to close the water valve which mean we can’t use the toilet and everything in bathroom. He even told us to use the common toilet in the lobby during the stay. We ask for a new room but he said it was fully booked and offer us only a dinner meal (which that time was 8:30 pm)🙄 and we just came back from dinner. Then they offer a room which is cheaper than we have paid. The staff did not do anything but only keep telling us to get refund from the agency we booked. They are not even accept that it was there false.Very terrible service!!!!!!!! Very below standard and so waste of money. By the way the room was not clean at all. You can see from the AC remote control😖 If I can rate 0 star I would surely dit that!

Absolutely loved this boutique hotel. Fabulous room which had a sea view. Small enough that as it was out of season hardly anyone was there. Which was great. I was worried that it would be full of honeymoon couples but it wasn't. Handy to get the local bus to malhbourg in one direction and you can walk to Blue Bay in the other direction. 5 island boat trip was great.||Lovely clean room. Staff very friendly and helpful.||Would definitely recommend this hotel.||Just a shame it is a 12 hour flight from the UK.||Hope to return one day.

We had an overall okay stay. The hotel definitely needs some renovation, but the biggest highlight is the stunning beach – crystal-clear water, soft sand, and comfortable sunbeds that make it the perfect spot to relax. The staff were very friendly and genuinely tried to make us feel comfortable and welcome, which we really appreciated. What disappointed us the most was the food. For the price you pay for breakfast and dinner, the quality just didn’t match. Breakfast was minimal and seemed tailored mostly to French guests — mostly fruit, bread, and eggs. After a few days, it became very repetitive. Dinner was decent, but there were times when the fish or chicken in the salads didn’t seem fresh. The main dishes were okay, but lacked real flavor or variety. There was a noticeable focus on presentation — beautifully set tables with multiple knives, forks, spoons, and various plates. While it looked impressive, it felt like a classic case of form over substance. I’d much rather see that effort go into the quality of the meals themselves. A simpler table with a truly well-prepared dish would make a much better impression.

There were several factors impacting the booking of this hotel, including that the hotel is a 16 rooms adult only exclusive boutique hotel (ref the About section on Trip Advisor and the hotel’s website). Well, two of the first individuals spotted on arrival were kids and on the hotel’s booking site one can select how many children will be joining (see screenshot attached). ||Describing a hotel as an exclusive boutique hotel does create expectations with respect to quality and service. I cannot talk about other rooms but the room I stayed at had a small TV with 9 obscure channels that could not be watched due to the low signal quality (they changed the TV but the quality remained poor). The bathroom (which had a door that could not be closed) had a cold water only tap and a shower in which one had to pull a line to get warm water. There was one chair and no bedside tables. All in all, the description of the hotel on Trip Advisor as where ‘time stands still’ is pretty accurate. We stayed for 2 nights only and did not have to face the dinner menu’s lack of choices for those on half board (menu changed only every 6 months).||Location is great and so is the beach, and the staff was helpful as one can expect. The rates for the rooms and food are probably fair for the quality one gets. However, the hotel is described in a misrepresentative way - and that does not stack up.

Astroea Beach Hotel offers a stunning beachfront location and a peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding. The room itself was lovely, clean, well-appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. Dinner was a highlight: beautifully prepared and full of flavor, enjoyed with the sound of waves in the background.||However, we were disappointed that the bungalow we booked, advertised as having a sea view, did not actually offer one. It’s a detail that matters when choosing a beachfront stay, and we felt misled.||Breakfast was another letdown. Despite ordering ahead of a nearby table, we waited over 30 minutes and received our food 10 minutes after they did. When it finally arrived, it was tasty but not as hot as it should have been.||Overall, Astroea Beach has a lot of charm and potential, but a few service and transparency issues held back what could have been a truly memorable stay.

Sorry but we really did not enjoy our experience. It was also a rainy day, so we did not enjoy the beach as much as we would've, but the room itself was very disappointing. Two small pillows and no duvet, no room deco. The dining area as well was not a space that was inviting, very simple and sorry but low quality. The staff were nice and we hope they don't take this personally, but we had a sour taste of not getting value for money and wouldn't therefore recommend. Hope your experience can be better if you go.

Had a terrible stay at this hotel. Vacation ruin. Very bad experience. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL COST. We flew from Thailand and booked to stay in a Deluxe Sea View Room for 1 night. #1 issue. At check in, the reception tried to downgrade us and sent us to a Standard room instead. ?!!! We disputed and got the Deluxe Sea view that we booked and paid for. #2 issue. Water leaked non-stop from the bathroom into the bedroom, causing big puddles of water by the bed! The same reception person called in maintenance at 8pm to fix the issue which is obviously impossible. And their only solution was to shut all water access in the toilet and shower for the entire night. UNACCEPTABLE!!! They denied all responsibility of the poorly maintained accommodation and offered us free dinner & drinks at 8pm instead. (Which we denied cos we already had dinner) They denied refund request or equivalent room change at the same or hotel or affiliated hotel nearby. UNBELIEVABLE. POOR customer service.

We stayed here in April 2025 and had a great holiday, the hotel is small but very well run. The views are amazing from everywhere. We had a two bed bungalow which had the best views I've ever seen of the sea and we have stayed at some very nice hotels. We had the all inclusive package and I can honestly say we had some of the best food ive eaten at this hotel. All the staff were welcoming and smiling all day. Cannot wait to go back. Don't let the hotel not having a pool put you off as the crystal clear warm water of the Indian ocean is fantastic. 100 percent
