755 Regal Court Motel Dunedin

Long reception hours up to 9:30p, spacious rooms for four, great location in Dunedin. Offers some free snacks like ramen and pop. We stayed over Christmas, and there was still reception. Additionally, we got a nice gift on Christmas from the staff. Includes a kitchen that’s well stocked.

This place is very good value for money. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, clean, warm, and had kitchenette essentials. The bed was really really comfortable. I also found t the staff/owners(?) really friendly and helpful. This has been a last minute booking for us as we were unexpectedly having to stay in Dunedin due to a hospital admission, and getting the room was very easy We may have to be back and this is where we'll be staying in future.

Very good stay during the trip. Comfortable bed can definitely wash out all the tiredness from whole day travelling. Tracy in the reception is very lovely and warm.

Absolutely awful place as soon as we arrived I could see that it was not very clean there were spider webs everywhere the entrance to our "shared unit" was untidy and leaves and dirt everywhere. We were given an upstairs Unit with a shared front door, the carpets were filthy and covered in stains there were dirty marks all over the walls, the Unit itself the carpets were also filthy, the toilet seat was stained yellow and there were stains in the vanity basin, the tap was loose, everything was old and very tired. It was extremely disappointing to say the least. Would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Having stayed here for work back in 2011 I expected the same standard. Not so unfortunately.||I rang specifically asking for an access unit for elderly family staying with me. On arrival the women led me to stairs. I stopped her and said we need a ground unit. We were the led to unit 17. ||The layout was great but it's easy to see that the place had become run down. Mould on the net curtains and the back of the curtains and black mould on the roof of the bathroom.||The shower was not an access shower as it wasn't wet floor. Thankfully I was the only one needing a shower but the drains must be blocked as water pooled at my feet.||The bedroom smoke alarm was broken which was quite alarming given even landlords have to have working alarms in each room.||One of the bed spreads was ripped. The floor needs a good professional wash and had stains. ||Being on the side of the motel that sees no sun I would not recommend unit 17 in the Winter. It was exceptionally cold as we entered because all the windows were open. ||If you run out of anything they make the guest go to the office to replenish supplies.||Good points: Comfortable beds. Good heat pump when cranked up. Whilst very tired it was fine for overnight. The bedroom heater blew cold air, luckily the heat pump was able to heat both rooms sufficiently.||Overall, an average stay and I guess price dictates as it was cheap compared to others.

Im not sure how this place every gained a 4 star review. From the moment we arrived it looked dirty. We were in an upstairs Unit with a shared front door, the carpets were filthy and had stains all over them the walls were covered in dirty marks, the Unit itself also had filthy carpets, the toilet seat was stained yellow, the vanity sink had stains in it and the tap was very loose. It was old, tired and dirty, the bottom sheet on the bed was velvet and very hot and the pillows flat. It made our stay in Dunedin very disappointing and we could not wait to leave there.

Mistakes happen — but decent businesses know how to handle them. This one clearly doesn’t. Scored 1.0 1.0 Booked two rooms and paid in full, only to realise less than an hour later that my wife had already made a separate booking elsewhere. I called the motel immediately to explain the honest mistake and request a refund — even a partial one — but they flatly refused. No understanding, no flexibility, no interest in doing the right thing. For a business that relies on customer service, this was a complete failure. I will never book here again, and I’d strongly advise others to think twice before giving them your money. Mistakes happen — but decent businesses know how to handle them. This one clearly doesn’t.
