We had a 2 bedroom room with a sitting area and full kitchen! It was perfect! The pool was small but so refreshing on a hot day! We would absolutely stay here again. The room is a little rustic but it is cute and worked well for our family If you rent a car be aware there is no parking and street parking is limited. It seems locals park and don’t move their cars ever!

This hotel has SO much potential! It’s a beautiful old building with a really nice pool and gorgeous tropical plants everywhere. It’s also a great location - you’re just two blocks from the ocean, and there are dozens of restaurants very close by. Staff was also very kind and accommodating. That said…. The rooms on the lower level are definitely struggling with a moisture problem. I might not have noticed, but my husband, who is more sensitive than I, could smell mold and was concerned with how it was making him feel. Fortunately, when he spoke to management they were very accommodating and let us choose from the rooms they had available. The room we chose, on the second floor, was much, much better. I think it comes down to better air circulation. If you don’t need much and you’re easy to please (like me) this place provides all of your basic comforts - sheets and towels are clean, small fridge and filtered water in the lobby were appreciated. However, if you’re a fickle traveler you probably won’t be happy here - I admit I didn’t want to sit on the dingy upholstered furniture. I hope they will invest the needed money to bring this charming hotel up to par! It has a ton of character. * Bonus - Your hotel key will get you into their sister hotel, Hotel Acacia, one block away. They have an awesome “warm pool” that makes for fabulous evening swims!

Perfect area next to everything, in walking distance to beach and restaurants. Clean , loved the pool and access to the heated pool. Ricardo was great, No microwave in the room or refrigerator which is a bummer, I was in the first room next to check in, the walls are thin, workers were loud at like 3am . The bathroom window has no curtain, it is a little high up but I heard someone breathing heavy outside my bathroom window while I was drying off out the shower. As soon as I looked into the window which was very dark because it was night time, the heavy breathing stopped abruptly and I grabbed my husband. There was a white car parked very closely to our bathroom window, the car belongs to a worker , because I have no proof I didn't make a big deal about it, I was very creeped out, and I'm not going to recommend a place that may not be safe for women due to a perverted staff. When my husband looked a little later the car was gone and the next morning when we were leaving the car was back but it was not as close to our window as it was that night prior. My stay was actually pretty good until that happened the night before I left. Sucks u can't even enjoy your vacation hopefully they look into it will affect their business.

Do not listen to the negative reviews! Must check out for yourself! I took a chance on the positive review that my son gave me from his visit, and in doing so, Myself, my mother and my daughter stayed at this wonderful boutique hotel and fell in love with the place, the service, and the atmosphere! The staff, especially Ricardo and If I remember correctly Johnny, were very attentive and helpful with any questions asked, even going out of their way to help. The property has a real island feel, we loved our room and they have a nice little pool. They also have a sister boutique down the street with a hot pool that was really a hit for us and the little one. 5 stars all around, absolutely recommend and will definitely stay here again!

In all honesty, there were a lot of reviews that made us slightly hesitant towards this hotel. When we got there, however, all of this dissipated and we discovered an amazing hotel. It close proxemity to the beach is it's top selling point, with the walk there being less than 5 minutes. We were greeted with friendly faces, helpful tips about travelling around the island, and overall good vibes. The room was perfect for what we needed. The sheets were clean, so was the bathroom. A lot of people mentioned smelling humidity, we never had that problem. It was exactly what we needed: a place to sleep and shower while we explored the island. The parking was fairly easy, with a spot always open by the side of the hotel. Everything is extremely walkable, with various restaurants and grocery shops next to the hotel (including one that's open 24 hours!) We always felt safe and welcome, and all the guests were kind, respectful and very friendly!

I absolutely loved my stay here! Ricardo was so incredibly helpful and kind during my entire stay, especially when helping us book for the night! I was only there for one night and would absolutely be back again for much, much longer! The rooms were so well kept and the space felt like home. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!!

Google
We stayed here three days and two nights and we loved our time here. We were central to EVERYTHING in San Juan and could even venture out further into the island with ease. The bedroom was clean and well kept. The AC worked nicely and kept us very nice and chill on the hot days. I'd like to point out might-year old (who is part fish 🐠) loved their pool. It's not very deep, which is fine if you have little ones. The pool was clean and kept well organized. It's a bit small, but cozy for sure. Overall we would be back and highly recommend for your stay in San Juan. The only cons I really have is the parking. It's only streetside parking, but if you know San Juan, you know how competitive space is. Also, there were a couple of times we lost power, but honestly I kinda liked it because I could take the sound of the island in. We booked this place late at night and the staff was very friendly.

There were 15 of us that came from Colorado and Texas and we absolutely loved it here. Id like to give a BIG shout out & kuddos to RICARDO for all his help in taking our bags to our room, giving suggestions to where to go eat and what to go do in town. We'd definitely stay here again! Thanks again Ricardo!

Yelp
I had a lovely stay at the Wind Chimes Inn. Ana helped me get checked in and all sorted. She was very welcoming and helpful. The place was beautiful and so perfectly located to enjoy Calle Loíza and the Condado area. This was my second time staying there and I definitely would stay there again.

Yelp
We stayed at the Wind Chimes for a long weekend in January of 2025 and had a very enjoyable stay. We stayed in a deluxe king room that was surprising big, with large windows (and a very small balcony) overlooking the courtyard. Bed was comfortable, shower worked well, nice (small) pool, and staff that was universally kind and accommodating to us. Hotel is a few blocks from restaurants, a big grocery store and the beach, and was 15 minute walk to tons of other places. It wasn't perfect - wonky wi-fi, bar wasn't open, and no housekeeping (although we see that everywhere we go) - but it was reasonably priced and suited our needs

Yelp
During my week-long stay at the boutique hotel, I found the area and location to be fantastic, being just one block away from the beach. One great aspect is its proximity to everything: beaches and popular dining and shopping spots are just a 20-minute walk away. The hotel itself is as expected--no frills, and the rooms are quite small without a refrigerator. However, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and I particularly enjoyed the small pool. While the thin walls made it easy to hear outside noise from the room, I found that after a long day out, I slept like a baby. Overall, despite its shortcomings, I did enjoy my stay.

Yelp
A solid 5 based upon what was expected for the price. If you're looking for a place to stay that's safe, a block from the beach, a block from a convenience store, friendly staff, nice pool area confined to the property, this is your place. Now that's not to say the place is a five star JW Marriott but suited my needs. I was on a business trip and needed a place to stay for a few days. It has the bare essentials. bed, bath, TV, WI-FI and privacy. I will consider staying again next time I'm traveling solo. Oh, at night time it can be a bit noisy but that didn't bother me.

Yelp
The location of the hotel was a short walk to a very nice beach and near little restaurants and bars in the neighborhood that I felt was family safe. The room itself was clean and spacious, the bathroom similarly so. The pool was inside the hotel's walled courtyard and was a good size considering the space available. I would definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
Vintage, colonial style hotel with terraces, a small pool, and a sister hotel with a great restaurant and a larger saltwater pool. Enjoyed our stay from 2:/15 to 2/29 in 2024 (rm 110). Want to especially compliment our maintenance man Giovanni, who was there early one morning in a downpour with a huge umbrella. What's more important than that first cup of coffee? It was waiting in the lobby and Giovanni walked me there and back with his umbrella--good guy, muy dulce! Pls give that man a raise

Yelp
My outdoor facing room had an air conditioner for the room above mine dripping water directly in front of my door. This not only meant I was dripped on every time I exited or entered to my room but the drips formed a puddle that meant tracking the water into my room. I mentioned it to the front desk shortly after arrival but the only action taken was a "wet floor" sign placed near the puddle. Inside the room the satellite TV regularly froze for about 20 seconds every 2 minutes making TV watching annoying. The towel holder inside the small bathroom was missing on the wall. Evidently it had broken off sometime ago and never replaced. The shower head connection would spray water over the wall and mirror outside of the shower stall when used. The bedspread stunk. Finally, when the front door was closed there was about an half inch gap below the door. Where was the threshold? Remember this door was outside facing so that meant any bug and even a mouse could enter the room through the gap. That night I put a bath towel in the gap to form a barrier. The only saving grace was that the ac worked. I regretted this stay and would not return. This property needs some serious remodeling. I seriously considered giving a 1 star review if it weren't for the working ac.

Yelp
checked in at 9pm. Front desk associate was pleasant and the wood work in the wee lobby was beautiful. He walked us through a quaint courtyard to our room pointing out a communal kitchen space where there's coffee, etc... Our room was not what was shown in pictures. It is extremely small and dark. The washroom was dim with a flickering light. No amenities, no soap, no towels/washcloths. Front desk apologized and gave us towels. Sink had toothpaste spat all over from previous occupant. Shower drain had hair. disgusting. Next morning inquired about soap, etc...reluctantly gave me some. Asked for another room and this new associate said unfortunately for you we are sold out today. Ha! BS. THIS IS NOT A BOUTIQUE HOTEL...IT IS A HOSTEL. A bad hostel.

Yelp
I reserved a double bed from me and my mom. We were excited about the place. We found there was no parking. We had street parking only OK. Then we got into our room. The room that they put us in was next to the pool and under a patio so there was partying all around wish I was in my 20s again. I wouldn't mind so much. I don't know about my 76-year-old mom though we thought we would try it out . we get comfortable she decides she wants to take a shower and we realize we have no water pressure. There's no water coming out of the sink or the shower so I called the front desk. Juan Carlos answers the phone. I explain the situation he tells me there is nothing he can do because there is a main that broke and the city is responsible.. I said OK. That is unfortunate. We just got in here. I'd like to go ahead and get a refund and we will establish another place to stay. He said that is not up to me. I have no other rooms available. I can't help you you have to go through Expedia. After being on the phone with Expedia for over an hour, I went to the other location down the street Acadia where Eddie was the first guy who registered us and I I apologized we have to leave. We're being told. There is no other rooms available for us and we've registered for another.. he quickly offered another room at the Acadia and had no idea about the water main breaking and my mom went to go check restroom and that seem to be working fine. I don't know what Juan was talking about. I don't necessarily want to call him a liar, but it doesn't look good.. I wish I would've talked to Eddie sooner because he was quick to try and rectify the situation even though it was too late I recommend the place it's close to the beaches. Just check to make sure that everything works and that you're happy with the room before you accept it and talk to Eddie if you can, he aims, please

Yelp
Do NOT trust this hotel with your booking. My booking was cancelled due to a card number issue that could have been cleared up with one text or call. After reaching the hotel and trying to rectify the matter, I was told that the reservation was gone, and that no rooms were available. This was just a few hours after I confirmed the booking! (note: this was also through Expedia - neither the hotel nor Expedia tried to contact me before cancelling). It would have been an easy fix, but it nearly destroyed our trip, as few hotels had availability so last minute.

Yelp
If you're planning on visiting Puerto Rico and you are vaccinated but 2 days prior to visiting, based on Puerto Rico Covid-19 protocol, you test positive for Covid-19 then this is not the hotel to stay. Between them and Expedia they have no qualms in not working with you to even change dates. They point fingers at each other with no one accepting responsibility or even trying to help. As travel guidelines continue to change all around the world due to the Pandemic, one would think that hotels would also change their terms and conditions but with this hotel that's not the case. I never wanted a refund but been able to change dates but they wouldn't work with me and kept my $231 without hesitation. This place is not tourist friendly and it's not willing to make exceptions to their old terms and conditions based on Puerto Rico current Covid-19 travel protocols. Very disappointed...

Yelp
We stayed here in room 101 from March 5 thru 9, 2022 after reserving a room at Canario Boutique Hotel didn't work out. My review of Canario is at https://www.yelp.com/biz/canario-boutique-hotel-san-juan Both hotels are under the same ownership so we did not pay anything at Wind Chimes. I think it would have cost a bit more than Canario, but I'm not certain of the numbers. The hotel is attractively decorated with a tropical motif, & we had a very nice king size bed in our room. However my husband is a disabled veteran, confined to a wheelchair, & is an insulin-dependent diabetic. He is on two types of insulin which must be kept cold. We brought four (4) ice blocks with us to make sure of this. The hotel staff misplaced or lost two of the ice blocks, which caused some of the insulin to get warm & possibly contaminated. We decided not to try to use any of it!!! Fortunately we were able to keep enough of it cold, to where it did not present any danger. The shower is very nice but it should have non-slip strips or flowers on the floor. Yes, I know they wouldn't match the tile, but safety first!! Luckily we brought a quad cane & had it to lean on while showering! There are no vending machines, no coffee, just an ice machine. We didn't get to swim in the pool because they were cleaning it when we wanted to go in. This hotel is not terribly friendly to people in wheelchairs. He had to fold up his wheelchair just to get through the door to our room. It was easier for us to go in & out the side door on Calle Taft, as there are about five steps to the front door of the hotel on Calle McLeary & no handrail. Wonderful restaurants close by, & we met friendly, helpful people in the neighborhood. The beach is so fabulous it would have been worth the trip all by itself.

Yelp
This was more like a dungeon, no sun light everything falling apart, filthy rooms and the staff was useless. We tried to request a better room and was denied. TV didn't work, the wifi was awful that we had to sit in the abandoned boat area, the mosquito trap to use the wifi or watch tv. The food and bar area listed on the website for Wind chime and Acacia were both closed and don't exist anymore. Don't let the website pictures fool you, This place was bad.

Brittny G.

Yelp
No where to park. We called the front desk because there is no parking and the guy was super rude. We called again because we couldn't figure out how to get in the building the guy answered again and was rude and acted like we were stupid. Came inside the hotel finally and the guy will not let us in because we are an hour early for check in. So we are sitting in the lobby waiting for room. The front desk guy hates his job and hates people. Horrible experience

Yelp
Recently stayed here and the room was absolutely disgusting, it smelled of mold and the electricity would go out constantly. The front desk attendants weren't very helpful either; no one was around for check out and when someone finally came around they had an attitude.

J B.

Yelp
Loved it. Local everything. Very quaint. Kind gracious staff. You won't find bells & whistles here. Not even a hair dryer. But I'd stay here again for sure. It was true villa boutique feel.

Julie M.

Yelp
Terrible Hotel. No hot water. I was told how to fix it!!! Dirty bathroom. I had to clean the encruated urine around the Toilet bottom. Has to keep going to wind chimes for beach towels. Staff seldom there and even though they said they manage both properties they didn't. We had to cross the busy highway every day if we wanted coffee or towels. No fridge in the room. No phone. Housekeeping was only if you asked for it. We were charged for an ocean view but had no ocean view. I saw two dirty drink glasses in to areas of the lobby when checked in and I'll bet they are still there. No one ever bothered to take them into the kitchen. The hot pool has no safety rails and no lights and way too hot. Rude staff. Sheets smelled musty. The room was musty. The restaurant was amazing But they said it doesn't belong to them. Pillows were musty and hard as cement. No parking either. What more can I say. Don't book. Go elsewhere. Wind chimes is so much better and they are the sister hotel. I dont get it

Yelp
This hotel was awesome it gave a real Puerto Rico vibe our flights were delayed and we got in really late Elsa recommended this hotel. Big thanks to Eddy, Anna, and Brenda.

Yelp
Cute hotel but needs some work on a few things. The location was good. A short walk to the beach, had a view of the ocean from our terrace in room number 307. Arrived a day and a half late due to storm delays on our flight so we lost almost two days of our prepaid room stay. Upon arriving at 9pm with no luggage due to our flight delays and exhausted we needed a shower and food and we get to our room and there were no towels, toiletries or toilet paper in our room and the drapes were tattered and falling off the rod. Otherwise it was okay and clean. The awesome restaurant that they still proudly advertise immediately on the website was permanently closed (perhaps because of Covid but there are MANY restaurants in business near by)... a bit deceiving. The sweet girl at the desk was AWESOME!!! Very friendly and helpful. I'd give her 5 stars. Unfortunately the man working the desk by day was rude, unfriendly and UNaccommodating. He enjoyed his smoke breaks outside in front of the hotel and yelling at people to put on their masks the most it seemed. We asked for "conditioner" and he handed my husband "shampoo". When my hubby said "it's shampoo" he rudely barked "it's both!" It was clearly shampoo. We own a hair salon. We know what conditioner is. Geez. The biggest upset was this: on our last night 2/20/21 i had a convo with another sweet reception girl about late check out the next day. She said sure. I asked about it for our room and for our friends room whom we were traveling with. I asked how much. She said $75. I said for BOTH? Awesome! She asked what time our flight was. I said 5:30pm. She said okay how about a 3pm late check out? I said awesome! Please charge to MY card for the 2 late check outs. She confirmed my card number. I said correct. Do not charge my friends. I'm paying that fee on my card. After leaving and returning home and checking my credit card. I was billed $111.50 (not $75) AND SO WAS MY FRIEND! I emailed twice for an explanation with no response. On the third try the response was this: "late check out is $25 per hour, you checked out at 3pm, 4 hours after check out so we charged you $100+ fees and because you left without paying we charged it to both the reservations" I'm paraphrasing but will leave photos below. I responded that a per hour fee was NEVER mentioned and that I specifically asked for it to be charged to MY CARD not my friends. There was never another response. Also i tried numerous times to call the number of the hotel with no one answering the phone!!! So beware. Make sure you try not to deal with the guy at the desk. It's a shame after the hoops we went through to get there and enjoy a shortened vacation (no fault of there's) we have to end on a sour note. I was fine with charge as perhaps it was a miscommunication. Ok. Maybe she meant $75 per room... but $111.50 each when she said $75??? Never a mention of a per hour fee. The ladies at the desk by far were really friendly and accommodating. It's a bummer there was this misunderstanding. Also a shame how unprofessionally it was handled. Avoid the guy at all costs. Unfortunately for most checking in you will have to as it seems he works day shift/weekdays.

Anna F.

Yelp
Should of pay more attention to check-in time, its 4 PM and not a minute earlier. I landed at 10 AM, asked to check-in around 1 or 2 , was advised to put my luggage in the corridor as everybody else does and go take a walk somewhere. There actually was a mount of luggage by the office. Asked for cancellation and refund, no such luck. Was told that I booked through Expedia and the hotel has nothing to do with payments. Stayed just because did not want to lose $450 or so; regret it. Staff is hostile. Parking is very hard to find, spent hours looking and/or waiting for parking. Phone hardly works inside the building while their Wi-Fi is a fiction, consecutive screenshots attached. It logs you out no matter what you do and hardly provides internet at all. Brand new iPhone and iPad feel antique, matching room design. Ratan furniture is peeling and looks like they fetched it from the ocean or trash container alone with the odd sized pictures on the walls. Restroom with no leg room, picture attached. Did not change bed, towels or clean at all during 3 days stay. The only boutique thing about this place is the price.

Yelp
you can't beat this wonderful little boutique hotel in the middle of San Juan Condado area for beach, shopping & restaurant access all with charming Spanish architecture that makes you feel like Zorro himself will be leaping from one of the balconies. The staff is friendly and for the $ it doesn't get any better!

Yelp
Long review* Checking in We arrived way past our original Check in time, our fault. This was such a smooth check in, there was no body at the desk but we called and 2 minutes after there was someone to check me and my group in. Smooth smooth smooth. I think this was the best part of our stay here. The Room We originally paid for an economy room, seems they ran out and "upgraded us" The reason this was called an upgrade was because of the bed size we later found out . An economy room comes with a full size bed, as opposed to our un-requested upgrade which had a "QUEEN bed" The queen bed consisted of 2 twin beds pulled together with a piece of foam in the middle to conceal the gap. All held together with a sheet. Ok things happen, but we were too tired to switch rooms (+) it was late and we had missed our original check in. We woke up and told the front desk guy Johnathan our dilema, he proceeded to explain how/ why this room was a major upgrade and he could do nothing about it till 2 days from now. Our stay was 4 nights and we didn't want to spend our time waiting for a new check in. We asked they would at least tie the beds at the base so we could sleep without them drifting apart at night as they did. Nothing was done, They remade the bed with no changes. Overall the front desk person was very uncaring and dismissive of our issue, reminding us at all chances we had an upgrade. Cleanliness The floors remained Sandy from the day we arrived to to the day we left, I understand it can be very difficult to remove sand from a tile floor as sand catches in grout, but There's levels. We would shower and instantly feel a Coat of sand under our feet, added to the lack of basic cleaning in the bathroom. We again asked the front desk to just sweep. And empty our bathroom bin ( was the only trash receptacle in the room) The maintenance woman was very sweet and left a note apologizing for the inconvenience. Overall this is the most affordable place in the area but not worth the trouble and inconvenience. It's charming on the outside but don't let this fool you, It's external charm only works as a beard for the lack of hospitality here. This place only saving grace was the young woman who's name I sadly can't recall, sugar in bitter tea.

Yelp
1.) No dedicated parking to the establishment. 2.) work out your shoulders 6 months before arriving, because there is NO ELEVATOR. 3.) Check-in was a debacle. 4.) Bathroom light was out, we called the front desk, a light bulb was literally delivered. End of story. 5.) No toiletries.... No housekeeping.... That was told upfront when checking-in. Positives - Near the beach, worth the 3 stars.

Zach B.

Yelp
Room 104 is kind of in the basement. The only windows are up near the ceiling. Otherwise the room was nice, but maybe an apology or automatic 10% off or some other token in exchange for being underground? It was kind of upsetting and I feel bad for the front desk worker who had to deal with us, she probably isn't the one who decided to make what was probably a storage space into a room. Otherwise it was quite nice. So I don't know, request an above-ground room when you book?

Yelp
I enjoy staying at Boutique hotels because it feels like I'm connected with the community and not giving my money to big box corporations. Our flight landed at 1:00 am and we previously contacted the hotel and they told us check in is at 3:00pm. Once we arrived to the hotel a little after 2:00am, Omar let us check in early but paying $50 +taxes for early check in, which was no problem. We received the 2 drink vouchers upon check in, and there is a plethora of brochures for things to do in the area. He was nice enough to recommend his favorite tours and how to navigate though San Juan. At the check out desk is always water and in the mornings there is a coffee station set up. The room was fine with no complaints. The only thing was that our safe did not work, and the shower head was a bit wonky. It tilted down and could not be set in another direction. We also had trouble regulating the temperature as the water was either hot or cold with us having to adjust the lever. The set up for the hotel is quite interesting. There is a main entrance on Calle McLeary and another entrance to the bar and other rooms on the side street. We stayed in room 123 directly above the lobby so navigating our room was quite easy, we just had to walk up a flight of stairs. On a quest to explore the property, there are quite a few nooks and crannies to access guest rooms. The scenery is very cute and social media worthy! Every front desk person we've encountered were all friendly and helped us to plan an enjoyable vacay. For the price, location, and service, I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Yelp
Beautiful, quiet place. Warm pool. You have access to the "sister hotel" pool which is like a 2 minute walk away. Would deff stay again. However they do not have vending machines at all or a microwave or fridge in room so u will probably have to do a lot of ordering and no in-room snacking. Wasn't that big of a deal but just for your info. But beautiful, safe feeling place. 10/10 recommendation

Blah Blah B.

Yelp
This place is a dive, do NOT stay here. On arrival I was given a room with mold covering an entire wall, the curtains, and all the pictures. When I told the front desk person I couldn't stay in a mold infested room, he said sorry, there are no other rooms. I began to cancel via the booking site, and suddenly a room freed up. This room appeared to not have been cleaned in at least a month. The beds were covered in dust, the toilets had urine on them, the toilet did not work, the shower was dirty, and the beds sagged. The next morning I showed the guy at the front desk and he agreed with everything I said and offered to move me to a third room. This room smelled of mold and bleach but they spent 6 hours cleaning it in advance so I'm guessing they used that to clean the mold. The manager admitted to me they had a mold problem. After the front desk person could not fix the TV, they showed me a room at another location which they offered at only $25 more a night, for another sagging bed, so I left for a real hotel for less than the offered price. They refuse to cancel my reservation or talk to the booking site about my reservation, even though they told me I could only book and cancel via the reservation site. At this point I'll let the health authorities, BBB, etc figure it out.

Avlis N.

Yelp
I was not able to stay at their hotel because I was not able to go on my trip due to being a disabled veteran and medical condition came up which is why I had to cancel the trip. Despite knowing this, they chose to not refund anyway which is shocking especially since they are US territory and would have such a cold non integral way of doing business in how they would decide to keep a disabled veterans money this way. Its shameful and shady. I will be writing a Google review as well as others.

Yelp
If you are looking for a cheap hotel then I guess this place is for you - filled with Spirit people this place often is nosy and likes to wake up the entire neighborhood. Shouting, whooping and playing loud music around the pool deck until 2am any night of the week. So if you are coming to rest this is not the place for you. And if you care about the neighbors then please try and keep some civility when you check in.

Yelp
I prefer boutique hotels and this location has ambiance, personalization and is a two minute walk to the beach as well as a beautiful pool. Restaurants and stores are walking distance.

Yelp
If I could give a zero review, I would. Our flight to PR was cancelled by the airline and Wind Chimes refused to change the reservation, they refused to refund our money, and also refused any sort of credit or compensation siting a policy that guests must cancel 30 days before their stay. Is this 1982? Who knows what will happen 30 days from now? Again, the cancelled flight was no fault of ours! We mainly wanted to switch the days of our reservation because we understand how small busses are run. We offered to pay a little extra and were willing to take a smaller room. They ghosted our emails hiding behind Hotels.com. By the way, no one ever answers the phone (even when I tried to reach out before the trip) and there is no parking on the premises, which is forgivable but inconvenient. I see online that Wind Chimes Hotel is owned by John Dennis-Brull who filed for bankruptcy back in 2018 and is probably still trying to recoup the money (42-62 million dollars). I am so disappointed in the customer service of this hotel. We usually stay at an Airbnb when we travel but with all the great reviews, we thought we would give it a go. This is a terrible way to gain trust. DO NOT give them your money.

Yelp
Check in was pretty swift. I hate that you have to buzzed in from the sidewalk because we waited several Times with no response. Luckily people were coming out 3/4 times. Staff was friendly. We got to our room-109 and I was disappointed. It's pretty tight/cramped, especially the bathroom. The television is the size of a laptop, and the bed is horrible. Immediate back and neck aches after laying on it. Way too soft. Definitely needs replacing. The noise from the bar is annoying but nothing we couldn't sleep through. The 5am noise from the garbage pick up was unpleasant. Leaving the room, I would have given a 2-3 star review. But....my flight got canceled. My friend was still flying out and we decided to go to breakfast. I booked another hotel solely because the bed was so bad and the room cramped. I asked to store my bag and the front desk guy started showing me all the things we weren't shown on check in. A shower and bathroom you could still use after check out, he offered towels if I wanted to go to the beach. He said I could use the pool and bar and offered to check to see if they had availability if I needed it. After breakfast, I realized it was too early to do much so I did go back to the hotel. I sat on the deck and read a book I actually felt a little remorseful not rebooking with them due to the convenience and hospitality, but the bed was truly awful. I would still stay in a pinch.

Yelp
With a late-night arrival to the airport planned, I booked this hotel as a stopover before heading elsewhere in Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, my traveling companion tested positive for COVID the day before, so we had to cancel the trip (and received full refunds from the airlines, and even from an Airbnb). I contacted the hotel nearly 48 hours ahead of time to explain the situation. They were intractable, refusing to issue a refund or permit rescheduling. It may be legal, but it isn't right.

Yelp
Love this small hotel. We have stayed here two years in a row. Omar is great! Centrally located to great food and shops. The beach is street over. Their pool is nice. Hot showers, ice and a bar that makes pizzas. Very clean! My only issue is they need vending machines. Not all of the front desk staff rock like Omar. He helped with our luggage. No elevators. Told us about great places to visit and eat at. Uber and taxicabs are easy to get. Such a cute place! Great for the price!

Yelp
Very nice, quaint hotel. Located near downtown, lots of restaurant options within close walking distance. Front desk staff is exceptionally helpful and warm, especially Omar. There is a nice onsite outdoor bar. Very cozy. Only downsides: 1) no onsite parking, but did find street parking within a few blocks and 2) no vent fan in the bathroom. Bathroom is vented to the room.

Yelp
My stay was pleasant. Staff was accommodating. Room was small but clean and cool. My son & I enjoyed both pools. The sister hotel down the street was amazing the pool was just perfect. After check out we decided to go back to the beach and hotel provided us with towels and we were able to come back and shower and change. I will definitely recommend this place & revisit next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Small room and a bit noisy. But, clean & quaint. The bar outside is really nice, stays open until 11. You can use all the amenities at the sister hotel down the street as well. Bed is a bit stiff, but was able to get a restful nights sleep on it, so not too bad. My biggest frustration is that the pool closes at 6pm!!! Just a few blocks from the beach, restaurants & bars very close by. The staff is incredibly friendly! Coffee in the morning provided.

Yelp
I been waiting to check out the hotel for this review.. Shit like cat fish for hotels.. Its one of those what you order and what you got situations.. But let me start with the uhh.. Hmmm looking for a door man.. None.. There's A Cat chillen laying and on everything.. Well I seen him in the chairs in the lobby.. The rooms.. Let me grab my list Dresser draw handle was broke had to stick hand in other dresser to open it.. Oh bring your own towels and rags cause they don't give enough.. Oh yeah if you planning on drinking anything bring ya own cups cause when asked for more then the 2 plastic they give you they told me ain't have no more.. But back to this bathroom.. The shower is horrible it comes out like if it's spitting at you and the bathroom got Jammed.. Asked if they can do something about it.. They had the nerve to hand over a plunger (posting that Pic) was told there was a jacuzzi but had to go to another facility.. Get there was told there is no jacuzzi.. Don't waste ya time on the walk.. (OH and the guy at the restaurant was rude and nasty how u get mad at me cause had us wait 43 mins for some eggs).. Its just been shinanagans all weekend.. Think they owe me some money all the self service.. Oh and finally waited from 555-615 (check the cameras if ya think lying.. Had to walk to other hotel to call this one to check out (ya need to invest in a drop box of gonna have this issue or staff taking naps.. (they said 24/7 service) guess them taking a nap is a new break.. I don't know what dude was doing almost just left the key on desk since it's been self service all weekend anyway.. Came out ain't even say nothing to us just sat down like nothing never happened (guess i had to initiate the convo) anyway you get what you pay for (4-5 best ratings) but that sign from 2010 ‍

Yelp
Terrible Terrible Terrible. Won a free stay here at Woodbury Common 3 years ago and it was nothing like advertised. Establishment was very old setting and nothing like what you would think. In my best opinion just check the bad reviews on TripAdvisor and that best explains everything about here. I immediately checked out and checked into a different establishment the following morning after having to stay there for my first night due to me not knowing how bad it would be on arrival. Just find somewhere else to stay. I recommend the Hyatt House San Juan for sure.

Yelp
I paid a reasonable price. Cant compare it to a five star resort like the other customers are. The place is ok ! service and Employees are fabulous.

Yelp
Nice spot. 2 blocks from beach. Last minute booked via hotels now. Only thing i didn't like is thy didn't offer late check out but it's not that bad of a big deal.

Yelp
This hotel is run by greedy managers and owners that lie to you. I booked a room online late in the evening based on thinking I had no hotel to stay at the next evening. I found out I did have a room at another hotel so quickly canceled my wind chimes reservation early the next morning. I was told based on the circumstances that I would be charge a minor fee but would be refunded for most of the $223.45. Well. they did not honor this statement. The reason for being in Puerto Rico was to help those effected by the hurricane. Avoid this hotel like the plague.

Yelp
I loved our time at the Wind Chimes! It was the perfect spot for us. Low key, simple and private...it felt like living in a Spanish garden cottage with our own veranda. We took very affordable Uber rides to La Placita, the airport and Old San Juan during the SanSe festival, which was amazing!! The bartender recommended great local beaches and the waterfalls, among many others to visit, when we told her we were driving to Rincon for the weekend. I would absolutely stay here again. I only give 4 stars because the bathroom fixtures, lighting and decor could use some updating...but otherwise, we had a fantastic stay.

Yelp
The staff was super friendly and made checking in and out a breeze. I want to just live here. The place is beautiful and makes you feel welcome and is a great place to refresh. It's only a block away from the beach, has a pool, and you get access to the hot tub on the second floor of Acasio which is on the way to the beach anyway. Loved it so much we rebooked it when our flight was cancelled. Will definitely be coming back here. The only thing I would change would be there's no designated parking, but we found parking close enough the three nights we were there for me to not see that as more than a minor inconvenience.

Yelp
We came here by mistake-- we misread the guidebook and thought it was located someplace entirely different-- so you should discount my review with that in mind. That said, we had an uneven experience. Our room faced the street on the first floor, so we had to keep the blinds shut, making it dark. And it was right off the front desk, so it was also noisy and not terribly private. These two things made it hardly the relaxing, quiet, oasis that we had expected. Even worse-- the pool has a big sign insisting that it closes at 6 pm (6 pm?) so we couldn't even sit in the pool to relax after a day exploring the city. That day alone might have merited two star. The second day was better. The desk staff told us that-- entirely contrary to the sign-- the "no pool after 6 pm" policy only applied to children, because they were noisy and splashed a lot. So at least we had someplace to go when we wanted to get out of our room. And the clamor in the lobby seemed to subside a bit. The ability to use the pool merits an extra star. [But be forewarned-- I have no confidence that some other desk person wouldn't enforce the "no pool after 6" rule.] It was fine for what it was, but I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
WARNING: This is a long review. A LONG REVIEW. I don'r really know where to start, with this place and probably the worst experience ever or with ther allies from booking.com. We booked this place for 8 nights via bookin.com platform. We had a reservation from 08/03-08/11 (2016). When we arrived - they first charged us for our stay and then showed us the room. NEVER AGAIN! Ask to see the room BEFORE they take your credit card. You've probably seen those photos of the hotel online? We got something that looks like a broom-closet right next to the bar. So it's in an 'alley' that smells like urine (I am NOT overreacting, I mean litteraly smells like urine), right next to the bar, extremely small and hair hair HAIR everywhere. Stains on the curtains, stains in the mirror, stains on the TV (???), stains in the bathroom. Noise from 3 A/C units in front of our window. Window as in something that is just there acting like a window but facing the wall so forget about the daylight (plus the smell.....). AN THE NOISE FROM THE BAR. We immediately asked to be transfered to a different room, because there was no way that we'll stay here for 8 nights. The person who checked us in, Claudio, has already left so the other guy whose name I forgot was at the front desk and he said that he will pass the message, and to be patient and check again tomorrow. OKAY. This was room 112. Tomorrow we came to the front desk around 8AM, Claudio was there, we asked to be transfered, said that we're even willing to pay to upgrade, asked if we could be transfered to the sister hotel maybe... At first he said NO to everything we suggested. And added "You got the deal of the day, it is what it is." Lovely. Then around 11AM he gave us room 109. We were excited to see it but everything fell apart when we saw that the room 109 is FACING the bar, like it's 5FT away from the bar, and our main complaint was about the noisy environment. So now we have that room 109, slightly larger than 112, facing the bar, where doors have this gap where you can put your finger (did I mention noise?), with the bed so soft that we both woke up with terrible back and neck pain... Musty, moldy, again not so clean... BAR! We checked out the following morning after 2 nights and Claudio made sure that we know that we will not be getting our money back. I asked only if we should sign something now and what's the procedure and he said "You're not getting your money back. Contact booking.com 'cause you booked trough them." OKAY. GOODBYE. So hotel is not returning anything, and I can bet they ended up selling the room to someone else since it was weekend, but okay. And we contacted booking.com immediately but they were acting like we did something wrong at first (''Since you've already checked out of the property without bringing up your issues with the property during your stay, it's that much harder for us to go back to the property and ask for compensation. Your complaint was discussed with At Wind Chimes Boutique Hotel, but in this situation the property was not able to offer any compensation''), but then after a couple of emails, photos, even a bank statement (yes, they asked for a bank statement to prove that we made a payment) - offers us 52$ on their behalf because hotel still refuses to cooperate. SO here we are now. That's why you're reading all of this. Find some other place to stay. Somewhere where they are going to treat you like a person. And be careful with booking.com platform. They act like the third party but once you're fooled into buying something that is not real - nobody actually cares. NEVER AGAIN.

Yelp
We stayed in this hotel in April of 2011. When we got here we were amazing at how quaint is was and how nice the pool looked. Our room was very beautiful and alot of light came into it. The balcony was amazing! The beds were comfortable and the fridge and microwave worked. There was tile floor and the hotel has a Spanish feel to it. The WI-FI was spotty, it worked in the lobby and in the Boat Bar, but not in the room. We were thrilled to find out the beautiful beach was 1 block away. Overall, this is a wonderful hotel to stay in!
