Very nice piece of history you can walk through. Both times we visited there was an occasional room you couldn't enter because they were repairing or restoring but you can still look inside. Each room has a plaque describing what the room was and how it was used along with other bits of facts and info along the way. Really clean and kept. Wasn't busy either time we visited, pretty much had the place to ourselves. There is a small gift shop with maps, shirts, toys and bottled water.

The only reason it's not 5 stars is because I think they were a little elusive on the website about the true cost. To make it clear, you have to pay the 8 dollars per person AND 2 dollars a person to get in to the castle. I'm not complaining about the cost because I believe that it's more than fair for all you have access to! If I knew that I was paying for access to the beach I would have brought my swimming shorts 😂. You also have access to a MASSIVE playground for the little ones. The castle is awesome! Truly amazing experience and I would highly recommend stopping by and bringing your swimsuit 🩲

Was beautiful too be with family, celebrating 2 birthdays 🎂 🥳. Enjoyed touring the castle and it's history, off for delicious ice-cream and then the beautiful beach. Definitely recommend. Showers to rinse off outside after leaving the beach ⛱️

The most impressive artist's studios fir a sculptor anywhere. Its such an honor to be able to walk through Anna's studio and the Huntingtons' residence. Generous, incredible people. It's one of the three attractions there, I love them all! My favorite place to visit.

Absolutely Love this place!!! I've been going since I was a kid in the 90s and now I take my family and young son! Always fun! Cheap entry fee ($2 each) Would definitely recommend for a quick hour walk. There is also a really nice beach only a few hundred feet from the castle!

What a gem of a place! It was so interesting to walk around the castle in a self-guided tour. They provide a map that labels each room. Several rooms also had placards that provided historical details. An added bonus: they have very clean and air conditioned bathroom facilities.

This was a great side trip we took in the summer of 2025. The Castle was packed with information about the lives of Atalaya Castle families. The bathroom open to the public it's probably the cleanest I've seen.

We joined the Wednesday tour with was so informative and gave a good look at Mr and Mrs Huntington. Such a good couple who established this area by hiring local folks doing the depression, which was invaluable to the locals. They are in the process of fixing up the building, largely relying on volunteers and the small donations through tours.
