Amazing steakhouse experience with a simple menu and a super flavorful offering. Get the ribeye or the strip loin if you want to go for the wagyu go for it!!! Then for starters we had the sausages which were so so tasty and then the cheesecake is so tasty. I did book a reservation which made the whole experience super seamless

This was soooooo good. Such a find!! We got a starter of beef croquet which was delicious, we both got rib eye steak (mine well done because I'm a chicken when it comes to anything raw 😂) and it was still melt in your mouth good. Service was very good and prompt as we were in a hurry to our next activity. I had a margarita and it was delicious. It was all very reasonably priced. Very happy and highly recommend to steak and foodie lovers like us 😍

Atalho Real – 5 Stars Our dinner at Atalho Real was hands down one of the best meals we had in Lisbon. Set in a stunning historic palace with a beautiful garden courtyard, the atmosphere was elegant but still relaxed – perfect for a special evening out. As a gay couple celebrating a 40th birthday, we were made to feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. The service was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive without ever feeling over the top. We shared the Tomahawk steak, and it was absolutely phenomenal – perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and packed with flavour. It was a real showstopper, served with generous sides that complemented it perfectly. The wine pairing was spot-on, and everything from starters to dessert was thoughtful and delicious. This place nails the balance of great food, great vibes, and top-tier service. Atalho Real is a must for any meat lover visiting Lisbon – we’re still talking about that steak!

We visited Atalho with my daughter for a quick-lunch. Service was amazing and people very understanding and helpful. They guided us on wine (trust them) and the T-bone stake was perfectly grilled. Simple, but to the point restaurant.

Nice atmosphere, excellent meat, good portions, normal prices for the quality and the quantity it offers. The picanha was literally melting in my mouth and the rib eye was so juicy and tasteful! I will definitely come back!

The service was horrific. The waiters had little clue of what the menu had to offer. They were rude and did more disappearing than waiting in us. Fortunately for the establishment the meat was damn good and so were the sides. The Carpaccio starter was an excellent way to transition into some nice rare cuts of meat. Perfectly cooked. Recommend despite the service. Dont blame the chefs for the crap happening outside the kitchen.

Outstanding food that exceeds expectations, with carefully crafted flavors and well-prepared dishes. The prices are truly reasonable, especially considering the quality of ingredients and presentation. The service was polite, fast, and discreet, which greatly enhanced the overall experience. Additionally, the wine list was thoughtfully curated, with labels that perfectly complemented the meals. An excellent choice for anyone looking for high-quality dining at fair prices. We will definitely return!

I have no idea who is gaslighting this place. The food was okay at best, especially for the price. 1. Service: confused, bad. She was certainly not attentive to say the least 2. Food: we got all sorts of their steaks, whether it was the normal item or the most expensive, it was okay. Nothing so extraordinary. May be the best in Lisbon, but not in any normal standards. 3. Drinks: not much of a mixed drink and wine selection was just okay. No sommelier and not very knowledgeable, hence unhelpful to make suggestion of their local wine. Generous pour of wine though. 4. Decor/ambience: old, broken and unorganized. I don't get the old doors for decoration and painting chipped everywhere, dirty floors. 5. Smelly bathroom and there's only 1 for all. I can't recommend this place with good conscience.

Place is inside of an old castle of some sort very cool! Staff very friendly. Steakhouse with amazing prices. 15 euro for a ribeye with 2 sides. Overall great place for dinner.

Such an amazing experience. Peter and Yugoslav were fantastic! Highly recommend the fixed menu so you can try a little bit of everything. The meat was perfectly cooked, Peter made sure everything was done well and things came out right on time. The garden is so beautiful and I highly recommend sitting there to get a bit of the Portuguese ambiance. The inside of the restaurant is nice but if the weather is good - sit outside. The area is gorgeous and you should get a drink at Gin Lovers after!

Absolutely exceptional meal -- one of the best we had in Lisboa. The wait was worth it, we had a drink in the patio lounge area for about an hour before sitting at our table. You 100% need to go here and eat your meating loving heart out. The service is just ok but the actually outdoor patio is gorgeous and so relaxing with the fountains and the birds.

Atalho Real cannot be missed! We ate there for dinner twice on our week long trip from the US to Lisbon and the food and atmosphere was immaculate. You can either eat inside the Embaixada or outside on the romantic terrace with bistro lights surrounded by trees and a garden. You choose a cut of steak (or lamb) and two sides for $23. That is unheard of in the States! It was like the Capital Grille for 1/4 of the price. My lamb was phenomenal and the steak unforgettable. We tried at least four of the sides (cole slaw, salad, gratin potatoes, potato wedges) and were fantastic and flavorful. The pina colada came in an adorable glass and was so tasty. Our server on the first night (and birthday night!) Maria was AMAZING! Such great energy, kind, a true gem. You MUST visit while in Lisbon and especially if you're in the Bairro Alto area!

An exceptional Steakhouse experience in Lisbon. With a wide variety of quality cuts of beef sourced from all over the world, I'd highly recommend dining at Atalho Real. The t-bone steak was cooked well and skillfully carved off the bone. The portions, quality and impeccable service are well worth the price. I definitely plan on returning the next time I'm in Lisbon.

Outdoor seating is really nice in the evenings. Melted Provolone app is a must. Preferred the plate option over the sandwich.

As I was walking through Bairro Alto I happened to stumble upon Atalho Real. The place is kind of hidden so I would say it was luck.... or was it fate? haha. I think it was fate to meet a very nice piece of steak at this wonderful little restaurant!! The place is small, very cozy and a great place for an unpretentious date if that's the case PRO TIP: This place has a parking area. This is gold in a neighborhood where it is almost impossible to park. Bom apetite!!!

Great burgers. I was able to be seated immediately. I did have trouble finding this establishment, as it was located in the back. The burger came with fries- they had a white sauce on them. Wasn't expecting this.

Great food in a charming building or out in their patio garden under a big tree. Food is delicious and well prepared. Great service. Recommend highly.

This place can be a bit difficult to find if you don't know what you're looking for. The entrance is actually on the side of what seems to be a museum of sorts, it's worth the wander. Once you find this place it's guaranteed a food coma. The meats and sides are delicious, cooked to perfection and incredibly flavorful. I wish I had a photo but the food was devoured the minute it was placed on the table . We had the lamb, prime rib, potatoes gratin, and some other meats I can't recall. The sangria pitcher was a big hit as well.

The steaks were amazing, specially the wagu. Service is laid back a bit, but Pedro was awesomely helpful for the experience.

I planned ahead to eat here prior to us traveling from the US to Portugal for vacation. I was super excited and couldn't wait to enjoy the experience. On to the specifics, we were seated in the outdoor area as it was a beautiful evening. The waiter (forgot his name) was great - attentive & knowledgeable about everything up and through the menu. Our appetizers and drinks were great no complaints. Moving forward to dinner, our waiter advised us of the current special, which contained five delicious sides and a pretty nice sized Wagyu striploin for two @100 Euros, which was incredible especially being from NYC... We specifically asked for a MEDIUM WELL cooked steak; we repeated ourselves twice as did our waiter. After not too long of a wait, the food comes out. He's slicing the steak annnnnnnd it's bloody bloody. My man was like that's not medium well, that's clearly medium rare. Waiter says don't worry I'm taking it back to have the chef cook it up some more. He brings it back and it was still not quite medium well. My beef (no pun intended) is with the chef. He cooked the steak how HE wanted to, NOT how we requested it to be cooked and for that I deducted two stars. If you are instructed to cook a steak to a specific temperature then that's exactly what you should do. We ordered our steak at the cook level that we desired, not to the chef's preference... That really annoyed us and kind of ruined the experience. If I'm ever in Portugal again, I'll likely try an entirely different restaurant, I wouldn't come back here.

Walked in and they said the place was closed despite the fact the dining room was packed. Doesn't make sense maybe because I am a tourist?

Best restaurant in Lisbon. We have been looking for good food since arriving in Lisbon and so far this is the best we've had.

We ate here and in hindsight it was the one of the best for service, atmosphere (sat in the square w local musicians playing ) and food! We got fresh seafood like clams/mussels and several dishes we loved. I wish I'd kept the itemIzed receipt.

The food was excellent and worthy of a five star rating, the only reason I took a star away was because of the rushed service. We ordered the picanha along with the filet and the lamb chops, all cooked to perfection. Definitely suggest coming here!

This place was recommended in our Airbnb apartment's guide as the best place for meat lovers in Lisbon. Since, it was only 10 min away on foot, we decided to try it out. We entered the restaurant and it was quite busy, without reservation we were seated within 15 min. We ordered 4 different steaks and a meat appetizer, and they were all excellently prepared to our order, juicy and tender and most of all deliciously flavourful! The service was also fantastic, so much so we came back after a day and requested the same waitress. If you like meat and good wine, paired with excellent service at a very reasonable price, look no further!

This restaurant might have served me the best lamb chops I've EVER had in my life. It was really that good. Very sad that it's 4 pieces, but it's not like I left hungry - I just could have eaten like another 4 more pieces! Tried all 4 sides and have to say the best were the fries!!!!!!! Cooked perfectly, well seasoned, and they got a delicious mayo sauce that comes with it. The potato gratin is ok. The two salads were ok. Did like that the slaw had apples. My Moscow mule was good. It came in a nice tall glass instead of the usual tin, but that was fine lol Service was very good. Restaurant decor - I enjoyed the interior, comfy seating, high ceiling. They also played good background music haha. So I would recommend this place if you're looking for a meat option. Or a nice place to eat. But I'm not sure how culturally enlightening it will be since it felt very American with the menu lol

Highly recommended!! Brilliant concept. Pick your meet, the quantity, and how you would like it (can also have it as a sandwich). The service was excellent and the food came fast. I had pork and my wife had the signature steak (forget the name...). Two entrees, bottle of wine, plus dessert for under €60. Fantastic meal.

This place is fantastic, we had been advised to visit from our waiter in The Decadente. A little tricky to find but well worth it, beautiful surroundings, and a lovely room, not too big, but not overcrowded. The chef is a Swede who has been in Portugal for 14 years, and has a beautiful 1973 Alfa Romeo Giulia out back which is well worth a look. We had Black pig sausage to start with a glass of the local Green wine to start which was very good. For mains we had the black pork which was sensational with a really good mixed salad. The prok melted in your mouth, it was something very special, I urge you to try it. I also managed a rib eye steak, 28 day dry hung, full of flavour, the marbelling made it a superb piece of meat. We were a bit full for dessert, but we coaxed into a local brandy which was very smooth. A very nice meal, very reasonable,

Half the place is empty, waiting time is 70 minutes. Wen we asked how come since the place is empty we were told maybe we will have to wait only 20 min. 20 min later we are sitting and have ordered. However, everyone around us is waiting for food. The waiters are running around and carrying single plate. One customer has been waiting since before we came and just got his food- two people carried 3 plates for him.

Ordered the rib eye, it was cooked exactly how I like it and it was good. The crispy potato wedges were amazing. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because service for slow toward the end of my meal and other than the wedges nothing else wow'd me. Overall, food was good and great bang for your buck. Note: we were seated outside and it was cold but they offered blankets which was nice.

This is my first Portugal dinner. I ate lamp chops. The meat is so delicious. It was easy to bite and smell very good! My friend ate steak. She said it was better than most of steak she had before. Additionally, the eating environment is great as well as the service.Highly recommended!

Best meal in Lisbon! My friends had the burgers and they were fresh and moist the best burgers ever! I had the pork and it was flavourful and well seasoned. They did not have the potato wedges today, but the potato dauphinois were exceptional. We had the sangria which was also one of the best I have had either the addition of passion fruit. The service was great and sitting in the garden was wonderful. 84.00 euro for 5 including 1 1/2 litre of sangria 2 beers and 2 coffees, well worth it!

Simply one of the best places to go to in Lisbon if you are looking for some delicious meat. Service is mostly very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. However, it is recommended to book a table in advance since it is particularly busy on the weekend.

Came here for my friends and I's last dinner in Lisbon and were not disappointed. Everything was delicious; even our vegetarian pal loved it! The service was fantastic, our waiter was a joy and, other than a slight confusion with specificities in one order, all went smoothly. I'd definitely suggest Atalho Real to anyone looking for a tasty meal and good atmosphere around the area!

Our favorite restaurant in Lisbon! The service, starters, drinks, mains, and dessert were all PERFECT! It was SO good. We had a large group of 10 people and they were so accommodating and quick to serve us. Highly highly recommend 100%!
